#she's an unnecessary waste of space
Note
Its nice to see someone else immune to Mors BS, now if you dont like Amren after ACOSF there *chefs kiss*. Anyway, the reason I never cared for her is because she felt fake to me, like a girl in highschool that smiles in your face or makes comments like "ugh im so (insert flaw here) " just to get the people around her to say "no your the BEST! We all wish we were you!" for her to just smile. IDK I just was never really on the hype train with her even from MAF (bc of what she did with Cass & Az)
Hi anon!
Yeh mor does seem super fake and idk 2D??? It's like she only shows up when the plot needs it otherwise she isn't relevant to the plot. Actually she isn't needed at all?
It's just that idk maybe Sjm water Feyre to have a girl bestie? Which seems unnecessary cause Cassian cud have been her bestf too? Idk why she thought that this femmine support was necessary (tbh her character wud have been much more interesting if she was the catty sister in law cause DRAMA)
And yes she's the girl who came between two brothers GOD I hate that trope that's so fcking disgusting??? AND THIS HAS BEEN GOING OM FOT 500 YEARS?????????
DISGUSTING.
Plus the thing where she's bi but not bi? Like idk if Sjm even understands the meaning of it when she made Mor a lgbtq character. What even is her orientation? She like men and women sexually but romantically she's only interested in women (i don't remember the books well so forgive me for any mistakes)and idk doesn't like men as much and/or only likes them cause that's how it's supposed to be and sleeps with them to remind azriel she's not interested
And the way she has been stringing along Azriel for centuries??? Why? What's even th point?, If he's ur so called family why not set him free? Why hurt the one u claim to love?
Then there's her powers? she's claimed to be this legend who fought the war and idk evryone's scared by her name? BUT WHATS HER POWER? is she a lie detector like what? 'TrUtH iS mY pOweR' Idk how far that can get u as a warrior.
Also I am immensely irritated by the fact that she's blonde. I'm srry but if the illyarians are are brown? (Like so many claim the bat boys are ) how tf can she be blonde and white? ISNT SHE RHYSANDS COUSIN? I'm srry I fail to understand how people living in the same geographic region in the same country have different ethnicities and DIFFERENT RACES??? Like wtf? Illyarians and brown but everyone else in the nc is white I'm srry I just- it annoys me to no end. Okay yeh Nc is diverse I get it, so is my country, BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN SEPARATE RACES? (I'm srry this deviated a bit.)
Basically, to sum it all up, I don't like Mor.

Can you do kenma x f!reader
Story:
Reader is drunk (and honry), so she starts dirty talking to kenma, and he gets really flustered, and they end up
👉👌👉👌👉👌💦💦
Yeah 🫶😭
Hell yes I can! I’m SO happy you asked for this friend! I’ve been trying to challenge myself and write for more than MHA so this came at the perfect time.
Tumblr media
♡ Master List Link
Kenma / Fem Reader.
Everybody involved is aged up/18+.
✘ Warnings; consensual drunk sex, some subby Kenma and he definitely has a praise kink, riding, unsafe sex 𓆩☠︎︎𓆪
Tumblr media
Kuroo’s laughter abruptly crackles through Kenma’s headset and god — he wants to reach through his console and strangle the cat looking motherfucker for making them lose…again.
Kenma takes a fortifying breath and seriously considers why he even tries to play video games with Kuroo, knuckles turning white from gripping the controller so violently.
“Kuroo, why the fuck are you still so bad at this game? We’ve played it a million times!”
“Hey! I’m not that bad, I have one ultimate move and you know that!”
There’s a pout in his voice and his dramatics make Kenma’s eyes roll so hard he thinks he could catch a glimpse of his brain.
“Really? Because from where I’m sitting you’re unnecessary deadweight. I would prefer to play with Bokuto and his build is even worse.”
Kuroo’s over the top gasp and protests fall on deaf ears when Kenma notices a familiar vibration pattern go off against his thigh. His gaze flickers to where his phone rests on the couch cushion beside him and he picks it up, lips stretching into a sweet smile when your name lights up his home screen.
If Kenma’s being honest, he’d been waiting for your text all night. You’d gone out with a few friends for a girls night only and playing with Kuroo was starting to bore him considerably.
You’d let him know you’d be home in about 25 minutes. Kenma bites his lower lip as he reads, beyond amused at the multiple spelling errors and way too many spaces between words in your text.
Yeah, he’s certain you’re wasted.
He types out a quick reply, pocketing his phone in his sweatshirt and tunes back into Kuroo’s irritated voice when he asks if Kenma had been listening to a single word he’d said.
The answer is a resounding no.
Tumblr media
You wave goodbye to your friends with a delighted laugh bubbling out of your chest as the Uber drives off down the road. A few hands stick out of the open window to wave back and you grin.
Kenma had offered to pick you up but you were drunk, and for some reason the thought of being separated from your girls in the Uber had made you want to sob.
So, there you are, squinting at your front door as you try to shove the key into the lock. Your fingers don’t seem connected to your brain and your skin is sweltering underneath your clothes. You glance up at the night sky in frustration before the key finally slides home and you sigh in relief.
Once you open the door you’re blasted with frosty air and your shoulders shake with a pleasant shiver. You’re so happy to be home.
Looking further in to the living room you spot your husband reclining on the couch, feet kicked up on the coffee table in front of him. He holds his phone in one hand and turns his head in your direction as you let the door fall shut behind you.
His eyes crinkle when he smiles at you and there’s a softness in his gaze that makes your breath stutter in your chest.
He looks……angelic. Kenma is dressed in an oversized cream sweatshirt with some game logo you don’t recognize on it, silky black athletic shorts and white ankle socks. So nothing new, and maybe you’re drunker than you thought because the sight is stealing the breath from your lungs.
You’re yanked towards him like a magnet, feet shuffling you across your living room before you even realize you’re moving and you smile so hard the apples of your cheeks ache.
“Hey baby, how was your night?” he asks, trying to stifle a laugh when you trip on the edge of the coffee table. He tucks a lock of hair behind his ear and you melt down next to him at the cute display.
“Hi,” you breathe, giggling and resting your head on the back of the couch with a dopey smile. “It was so much fun Kenma! I do wish you could’ve been there though.” The smile melts off your face and your expression morphs into a pout, lower lip pushing out. He arches an eyebrow at you.
“It was a girls night. Besides, being out in a noisy bar is not my idea of a fun time. Talking to people is exhausting enough as it is.”
You lean in close to whisper to him.
“Hmm, I know you’re an inside cat Kenma, but I still wanted to dance with you. Plus, you are pretty like a girl.”
Kenma sputters, gaze darting to the floor before focusing back on you. “You’re just drunk.”
“Well, yes but I’m not that drunk.”
Kenma snorts a laugh and pulls his feet off the table. He rests them on the floor and sits up straight, willing his blush away as he tilts his head to stare down at you with a teasing smirk. He shifts closer and presses a chaste kiss to your forehead.
You hum, and in lieu of an answer you pull away from him. His brows knit together and he eyes you suspiciously.
“What are you doing?”
“Taking off my shoes! I’m gonna straddle you because I’ve been thinking about riding you on this couch all night.”
Kenma doesn’t respond right away and when you finally manage to toe off your shoes, twisting to face him, his cheeks have finally given in and are now dusted with a blush, lips parted slightly while he watches you.
He always gets flustered when you speak so boldly.
You wink at him, maneuvering until you can throw a leg over his hips and settle down heavily in his lap. Kenma’s hands automatically grip the exposed skin your thighs where your dress bunches up.
“Have you?” He asks with a flat tone, but it’s clear your words are getting to him by the way he tilts his head back onto the couch and sneaks his hands up under the hem of your dress to paw at your fleshy hips.
You moan softly when he squeezes you and you nod, licking your top lip lazily and resting your hands on his shoulders. His cock twitches in his shorts and you can easily feel it against your inner thigh.
“You’re just so, so pretty Kenma. I missed you so much.”
His eyelids flutter briefly from the praise and he shifts his weight, tugging you closer until you place your forehead on his.
“I missed you too. Playing with Kuroo was so boring, he sucks.”
“Yeah?” You rub your nose over his. “I bet that pretty cock of yours missed my pussy too, didn’t it baby?”
Kenma’s rosy blush travels down his neck and vanishes under his collar. “Yeah, o-of course.”
You giggle, twirling a string from his sweatshirt around your finger and rolling your hips to drag your panty covered pussy along the length of his cock. He’s as hard as marble now and you reach down to adjust him until the slick tip pokes out of his waistband before continuing to tease him.
He pushes his hips up impatiently to meet your movements, applying pressure to your swollen clit that’s just right and pleasure pulses through your pelvis as you both moan. You pause briefly to push his sweatshirt up to his ribs, leering at his lean stomach and barely there happy trail.
“That’s my boy Kenma, so good for me and so beautiful too,” you say with a breathy sigh. “Should we live stream a video of you like this? You blush so sweetly and your fans deserve to know just how much of a pretty boy you are. How you get so eager for my pussy.”
Kenma squeezes his eyes shut as a lusty moan punches from his chest. “Shit — baby fuck, don’t say that. Jesus, just take your dress off please. I need to see you.” His eyes flash back open, pupils dilated wildly as he pushes your dress up and off you before you can even answer.
You weren’t wearing a bra and your tits bounce gently onto your rib cage. Your husband’s eyes widen before going half lidded, bottom lip sucked behind his teeth as he smoothes his hands up and down your sides.
He gawks at you as if he means to devour you and a thrill races down your spine. The thick alcoholic fog that was clouding your mind has cleared considerably and your only goal is to get what you’ve been craving, the thought echoes like a chant through your mind.
“I’ll never get over the way you look at me when you see my tits.”
Kenma glances up at you in surprise but then you’re kissing him in the next breath. He makes a soft sound of pleasure and tilts his head to kiss you even deeper, biting at your bottom lip and swallowing the moan you give him.
You reach down as you kiss, hooking your fingers in his waistband and tug at the material restlessly. Kenma lifts his hips, allowing you to yank his shorts and briefs down to mid thigh. His cock bobs free and you break the kiss, chest rising and falling deliberately as you squeeze his shoulders.
He traps the tip of his tongue between his teeth and slips your panties to the side when you lift up to your knees. He steadies his cock at the base with his free hand and slides his soft cock head along your clit until you jolt. It parts your lips, catching at the right angle and then you’re sinking swiftly down until your ass meets his thighs without any resistance from your drooling pussy.
The stretch curls your toes in your socks and Kenma throws his head back with a choked off gasp, strands of dark hair sticking to the side of his sweat slick temples. You shift your weight, adjusting to the sensation of being stuffed full and use his shoulders for leverage to lift up halfway before sitting back down.
“Oh! Fuck, you’re always so tight baby. I can’t believe how well you take me,” he says through gritted teeth, rolling his lithe hips up into you because he can’t bare the thought of sitting still any longer.
The first motion makes your finger tips tingle, a surge of warmth churning in your belly as his cock drags deliciously along the inside of your pussy.
“Kenmaaa,” you whine, bouncing in shallow movements on his lap. He hears your unspoken plea and grips your ass, nails creating indentations as he pushes you upwards and lets you fall back down. A low moan spills from you as you hang your head, keeping up at that steady pace with him until your thighs start to burn.
Your sensitive tonight, and a knot winds up tight in lower pelvis faster than you’d like as Kenma studiously keeps his gaze locked on where you swallow his cock whole each time.
Your pussy flutters and Kenma’s eyes flit to your face, taking note of the way your jaw hangs open and your brows pull together as you pant shallowly.
“You’re gonna cum aren’t you baby?”
You nod frantically. “Yes! Please Kenma don’t stop, your cock is so good,” you moan, falling forward to grip the couch on either side of his head.
Kenma halts your motion mid air with a strong grip and you whine at the loss of friction.
“Hold still.”
And then he’s bracing his feet on the floor and thrusting up into you at a brutal pace, one hand on your hip and the other moving down to rub uncoordinated circles into your slippery clit with his thumb.
You cry out his name and the sloppy pressure on your clit is enough to push you over the edge. The muscles in your thighs tense and your mouth opens in a silent scream, Kenma moaning brokenly as he tries to keep his pace.
You’re barely coming down from your high when he jerks you down into his lap, cock kicking and upper half curling forward to shove his forehead against your shoulder as he cums with a gasp.
You slump forward into his chest, bodily squishing him into the couch and pillowing your cheek on his shoulder.
Kenma’s heart thunders in his chest while he catches his breath, rubbing your lower back soothingly and relaxing into the post orgasmic haze settling over both of you.
It’s silent in the background, save for whatever show Kenma had playing before and an undetermined amount of time passes by before you sit up with a coy smile and lock eyes with him.
“Wow Kenma, all this time I knew you had a praise kink but I didn’t realize just how much you love being called a pretty boy. Maybe you should ride me next time?” You tease.
He scrunches his nose up and spanks the side of your thigh sharply in retaliation. You toss your head back in laughter until he huffs loudly, shoving you off his lap onto the couch and tucking himself away.
You laugh even harder, leaping up and stumbling after him with half hearted apologies falling from your lips as he stomps off childishly towards the bedroom.

Ok, but young Ben being a lookout on a mission, and he comes across a girl his age and she starts to flirt with him and they have this banter. He later finds out that she was a villain all along and she was sent as a distraction by her team. She has the ability to control people's bodies, which is why Ben was so much calmer when he was with her; She was lowering his blood pressure. After that, she kind of acts like his version of Lila where she comes and goes just to flirt with him and mess with his head.
a/n: so i couldn’t tackle everything in this request bc otherwise it would have just turned into a full fledged multi-chapter fic but the main idea is there and i hope you enjoy
warnings: reader is very flirty and manipulative
Tumblr media
While the rest of the Umbrella Academy loathed being given the role of the lookout on a mission, Ben found that he enjoyed nothing more than sitting out of the action in exchange for being the vigilant watchman. It kept him from having to use his powers and saved him from the usual hourlong shower he’d take scrubbing away the blood and grime from his skin. Today’s mission involved stopping a museum heist, and his abilities were deemed unnecessary for the task. The last thing Reginald wanted was to be responsible for replacing priceless art, and the Horror was only good at tearing limbs and furniture apart, so the boy was left to patrol the perimeter while his siblings investigated the scene.
The night air is cool and quiet as Ben makes his third lap around the building searching for possible burglars or thieves trying to make away with an original Monet. Instead he is met with the fluorescent lights of the street lamps and the neon flashes of the liquor store sign across the street. Everything is completely still and uneventful, and he begins to wonder whether the anonymous tip Hargreeves had been given was just a prank to distract the team from a much bigger problem.
“Hey,” a voice calls, nearly startling the boy out of his skin. So much for being vigilant.
He’s met with the sight of a girl who looks to be about his age dressed in all black with a playful smile curled upon her lips.
“Hey…” he replies hesitantly, unsure of how to deal with her. He wasn’t exactly sure why a girl would be out this late at night by herself, and while the gentleman in him wanted to escort her to safety, he couldn’t risk leaving his post and jeopardizing his siblings. “You shouldn’t be out here. It’s dangerous, and if something happens I won’t be able to protect you.”
“Protect me?” She retorts in amusement while sauntering closer towards him. Though her demeanor is completely innocent, Ben still finds himself taking a nervous step back to avoid being in her space. “Who says I need protecting?”
“There are weirdos out at this time of night.”
“Are you a weirdo?” She counters with a raised brow and a finger pointed against his chest. The feeling of her touch weirdly has his tense shoulders relaxing, his defenses lowering as he really starts to take her in. She’s actually quite pretty, and pretty girls usually took interest in Luther and Diego, yet here she was making conversation with him. He feels surprisingly less nervous than he expects himself to be in the presence of someone like her, and as he lets out a slow exhale from deep within his chest he finds that it’s a nice feeling.
“No, I’m not, I’m… I’m Ben,” he breathes out with a faint smile.
“Nice name. I’m y/n,” she states, her nature morphing into something more flirtatious than before. Exchanging her finger for her palm, she splays the entirety of her hand against his chest and rests it upon his heart. “Do you work out?”
“I do, actually,” he states proudly, chest puffing up more confidently than before. Ben has no idea where this sudden surge of confidence has come from, but he knows better than to waste this rare opportunity to show off his title as an Umbrella. “My father makes my siblings and I train every day.”
“Must be hard,” she notes thoughtfully, making sure to hide the way her pupils begin to dilate at the use of her power. He has no idea that the reason he feels so differently around this girl is because she’s doing it on purpose. Her ability to lower his blood pressure and lull him into a fake sense of calm has made him more confident and relaxed, and this ability makes for a great distraction while her team works to get away with stealing precious museum works of art. He’s too busy focusing on her to notice one of her partners sneaking out of the building with a rare statue while the Umbrella Academy is distracted by an ambush.
He’s so cute she almost feels bad for taking advantage of him, but someone has to do the job.
“It isn’t too bad. Dad says it’s important to keep up our strength at all times.”
“At all times?” You repeat pensively, your palm pressing just a little more firmly into his chest. You tilt your head suddenly, lip jutting into a sympathetic pout as you remark, “You look tired.”
“I do?” Ben repeats only for his body to immediately relax. “I am…”
“Maybe you should sit down,” you offer kindly before helping him lower to the ground so he can rest his back against the cool brick of the building. Pressing an ingenious kiss to his cheek, you gift him a gentle pat on the head before moving away from his figure and making your exit. “It was really nice to meet you, Ben. I’ll see you again soon.”
His eyes feel like they had only been closed for a few seconds, but in actuality he had been passed out for a good five minutes, and it isn’t until Luther is shaking him by the shoulders that Ben finally wakes with a gasp. The sense of calm from earlier is gone, and the Horror is immediately on high defense as he peers up at his brother with wide and uneasy eyes.
“What the hell were you doing?!” Luther exclaims in exasperation while Klaus helps the boy off of his feet. “You were supposed to keep watch!”
“There was a… a girl,” Ben swallows harshly. “And she was talking to me…”
“Ooo, a girl?” Klaus goads with a teasing grin and elbow to Ben’s side. “Was she cute?”
“That doesn’t matter,” Luther chides harshly only to receive a pout from Klaus in response. “They got away with a statue and now Dad’s gonna kill us. Let’s go.”
Klaus gives Ben a sympathetic pat to the back before following after their leader, and the Horror can only trudge guiltily behind after them. He has no idea how he managed to mess up so badly when normally he has the clearest head out of all of his siblings. It was like y/n was able to put him under some sort of spell to lower his defenses and get him to lose focus on the task at hand.
Ben has no idea what just happened, but he hopes she meant it when she said they’d see each other again.

i will just leave this here without any particular comment. im glad that the las vegas is over and im even more glad that lando is okay. anyway, please enjoy it as always!
summary: lando crashed and went to the hospital, y/n and oscar coming to the rescue
warnings: nothing i think
pairing: lando norris x fem!mclarendriver x oscar piastri
Tumblr media
The prevailing silence in the car was almost deafening, even the radio didn't dare to hum songs. The only audible sound was the quiet engine working at full throttle, ready to reach the destination as quickly as possible.
Y/N and Oscar sat next to each other in the back seat, gazing at the night landscapes illuminated by fiercely glowing neon lights. Neither of them was in the mood for conversation. The atmosphere was truly worse than gloomy.
Las Vegas was way much more than intense. The city pulsated with nightlife, decidedly more than any other place where Formula 1 had the pleasure to visit. That's why the silence that surrounded the McLaren drivers was quite shocking. However, this silence was entirely justified. It emerged when the orange car with number four on it submerged in sparks and concluded its disastrous ride in the barriers. Right then, all of Las Vegas froze; right then, the entire McLaren garage held its breath.
When the taxi parked at the hospital driveway, the pair quickly stepped outside and headed towards the entrance. After talking to the woman in the reception point and facing temporary difficulties finding the right room, they humbly sat on chairs in front of it. They had to wait until the tests were completed and the doctors left the room, allowing them to come in.
Seeing Y/N nervous, Oscar wordlessly embraced her, providing comfort. She closed her eyes and leaned on his shoulder, knowing well that she wouldn't calm down until she saw Lando with her own eyes.
After some time, when two doctors and a nurse left, the couple entered the room. Lando was genuinely surprised to see his friends, but he smiled seeing them.
The girl quickly approached the bed, ready to hug him, but she hesitated and lowered her outstretched arms, not wanting to cause him unnecessary pain. However, Lando pulled himself up a bit, reaching out to her and allowing the embrace. Oscar exchanged a reassuring look with his friend, smiling at him encouragingly. He sat on the bed and also hugged Lando, soothingly patting his back.
"You gave us quite a scare," Y/N murmured, still holding him tightly.
"It looked worse than the actual outcome it brought," he replied.
After some time, she pulled away and sat beside him, scrutinizing him carefully. Fortunately, there were no signs of serious injuries, just a few bruises and bumps.
"Thank goodness you're okay," Oscar said, glancing at him. However, Lando didn't seem overly comforted.
"Maybe I'm fine, but I completely fucked the car. I'd rather something happened to me than—" "Don't even say that," Y/N quickly interrupted him, scolding him with her gaze.
"Our cars have been total crap for a few races now, so I think you did a favor to the factory people," Oscar remarked with a reassuring smile, lifting Lando's spirits a bit, although he still shook his head.
"Total massacre. At least you fought for our honor," Norris said, looking at the aussie.
"Fought is an understatement. Oscar was ready to throw hands," the girl laughed at his comment.
"Maybe it's for the best, considering how much of a disaster the track was. And you just crashed and hopped into the warm and comfy ambulance without giving a fuck—lots of space, delicious, perfectly chilled water, phew," Piastri joked, maintaining a serious demeanor.
Lando chuckled, nodding in agreement. "I'm glad this race is behind us," Norris admitted with a sigh, wincing as he adjusted himself on the bed. "It's just a shame about the outcome."
"It doesn't matter," Y/N said, resting her head on his shoulder. "The most important thing is that you're okay."
"Since I'm fine, you shouldn't waste time here," Lando said, looking at his friends. "This is our last night in Vegas; I'd go for a wild party if I were you."
"Oh c'mon, fuck Vegas," Oscar cut in, shaking his head.
"I can't wait to leave this place," Y/N admitted, taking out her phone "I'll order us some champagne, what do you think? We need to toast to this cursed city."
"I'm a hundred percent in," Oscar nodded.
"I hope no one will be mad at us for a little party here," Y/N said, dialing a number.
"It's an open party, the McLaren house is open to everyone," Oscar added.
And as they said, so they did. Shortly after, three bottles of champagne appeared in the hospital room and each of the trio could swear that the shared evening was better than any party.
At some point, Lando stopped thinking about the past race and the unfortunate crash. His thoughts departed from that incident; he didn't even feel the pain of his bruised body as he held a perfectly chilled bottle of champagne in his hand. He couldn't also contain his smile as his friends danced in the middle of the hospital room, singing a song in his honor. At that moment, Lando was genuinely happy and understood that to feel this way, all he needed was the company of these two, who would do anything for him.

Maybe a Eddie and Roan where Roan gets into an argument with one of her friend/classmate and she’s like really grumpy and reader and Eddie try and cheer her up or even defuse the situation??
tysm ♡ eddie and roan
Roan toddles out of her classroom with her eyes on the floor until she reaches Eddie's legs. He frowns at her in surprise, smoothing the frizz of her curls away from her forehead. "Hello," he says.
"Everything okay?" you ask.
That morning at the kitchen table, when you told Roan you'd be there at pick up with her dad (the two of you taking a much needed day off to waste together in bed doing alternate loads of laundry), she smiled and climbed into your lap. "Good," she said, her lips shiny with waffle syrup, "I'll make you a present in arts and crafts."
"You will? Thanks, baby," you'd said.
The present isn't anywhere to be seen now, nor is your sparkling girl. Roan rubs her cheek against Eddie's legs without greeting you. Eddie takes the hint and leans down to take her into his arms. He sighs as he stands, ducking his head to hers.
"Hello," he says again, gentler now. "Bad day?"
She sniffles and puts her face in his shirt collar. Eddie covers the back of her head, his eyes wide. What the fuck, he mouths, surprise melding into something worse. He hates when Roan's upset like this. Her tantrums are loud but her real tears are always quiet, and you can see the moment Eddie's heart breaks, her hands gripping his hair urgently.
"Hey, okay, don't worry, bubby…" He nods his head back the way you came, and you follow at his elbow, crestfallen.
He prods at it as you walk to the car. What happened? and Talk to me, babe. Roan stops crying and turns silent, until the concern gets too much.
"I'm sure whatever it is, we can make it better. You just have to tell me what happened, roly-poly."
"Nothing! Nothing happened, dad, stop."
Eddie rubs her shoulders. "Alright. If you say so."
You open the car door for them and Eddie covers the top of Roan's head as he tucks her in. She's definitely reaching an age where all this carrying is unnecessary, but Eddie always says he has muscles for a reason. You like to roll your eyes, and, secretly, think it's amazingly sweet. He's like that.
"Want me to come and sit in the back?" you ask.
"No."
"Are you sure? We can play pat-a-cake, or thumb wrestle?"
"I don't want to."
More of the same on the drive home. Eddie suggests ice cream, movies, McDonald's. Roan stares out the window and refuses to answer. Safe to say, you both hate it. It's your worst nightmare to know that somethings wrong but not know what that something is.
"Let's go to Leaven," you whisper.
Eddie raises his eyebrows at you, though he takes the turn, whispering back, "Why Leaven?"
"We can buy her some fancy cupcakes and new pyjamas and stuff. And a tape, whatever she wants."
"We can't just buy her happiness," Eddie says.
"Really?"
"...Maybe."
You park up in the family spaces near the front of Leaven and Eddie insists upon himself from car to store. "Please hold my hand, babe, I'll get lost in Leaven by myself," he whines, waving his hand at her. "I won't know where to go if you don't steer me."
"Fine!" she says, taking his hand furiously.
"Do you want to know why we're here, lovely girl?" you ask.
"No."
"Roan, don't be mean," Eddie says reproachfully.
"I'm not mean, dad."
"You're being a little tiny bit mean. We should try to be nice to the people we love even when we have bad days. Work is very very hard, but I try to pick you up from school and be happy because you haven't done anything wrong."
"I don't want to be happy," she pouts, twisting her head away from you both.
Eddie huffs playfully and grabs her from behind. Arms under her armpits, he swings her around and chuckles maliciously in her ear. "Silly girl left herself open for my evil plan," he croons, the voice of a character from one of his campaigns that gives you and Roan the shivers.
You grab a kart and push the children's seat out for Eddie to slide her in. "Trapped!" he declares, squeezes the arms of her vinyl coat. "And there's nothing you can do to stop us!"
Roan struggles to pretend she doesn't find it funny. "Stop what?" she asks, exaggeratedly unhappy to maintain her grumpy facade.
"We're going to spoil you, duh," he says, voice back to normal. "What should we get first, my love?" he asks you. "Cupcakes?"
"Best get cupcakes before they run out of the pink bunnies."
Roan's lips quirk at the name of her favourite ones. "Are we really having pink bunnies?" she asks.
"We're having anything that will make you smile," Eddie says.
You link your arm through his for most of the journey, the smell of his cologne rich and smokey. He doesn't smell like diesel, a rare occasion, nor are his clothes mottled by oil. You look like a family meant to shop at Leaven (sort of, you aren't so decked in designer as the wealthy Hawkinites). Roan perks a little as you pick cupcakes from the bakery counter, their gold foil wrappers reflected in the brown wells of her eyes. Eddie lets her eat one as you walk around so long as she puts the wrapper in the bag when she's done.
From there, you choose pyjamas, a stuffie shaped like a frog, and a breadcrumb covered tray of mac and cheese. You pick up things you don't need as you go, fancy brownies in a tub and clothes softener. The best part is the deliberating, you and Eddie and Roan taking turns sniffing the caps and debating which one smells best. You settle on deep sea minerals, probably because Roan likes the seahorse on the front.
"You're a traitor," you say, putting back the scent you'd preferred with put upon disappointment.
Roan giggles sweetly. Like a plug pulled, a levy unburdened, she laughs from the checkout to the car, all the way home. You barely notice how dark it's become, focused on the loving heat of Eddie's hand on your knee and Roan's renewed smile.
Later, once she's had a bath and you're all in your pyjamas, Eddie asks her again what upset her, and she gives a teary answer. One of the Stacey's said her hair looked ugly, and Roan agreed with her.
"Bubby, your hair's not ugly," you say, chucking her under the chin. Eddie, her chair, leans his chin over her shoulder to agree.
"It's beautiful."
She sniffles. "I said it was ugly, and it's not nice because daddy has the same hair." She sputters wetly, tears squeezing from the corners of her eyes. "I'm really sorry."
"Aw, Ro." Eddie hugs her with both arms tight to his stomach. "Don't be sorry, you don't have anything to be sorry for. Stacy shouldn't say you have ugly hair– you have beautiful hair. So shiny and bouncy. I promise you it's perfect."
You smile at Roan encouragingly. "Your hair is soooo super pretty. Just like your dad's."
"You think so?"
"I know so." You coil a curl around your finger. When you let it go, it springs away and falls against her face.
Roan relaxes into Eddie's chest. He rubs her upper arm, a similar relief on his pert features.
"Is there anything else wrong?" Eddie asks.
Roan closes her eyes, dark lashes kissing her cheek. "I think I have a tummy ache."
"I bet you do, babe. Why don't we lie down for a bit?"
Roan agrees wholeheartedly. It's a tight squeeze, but the three of you manage to lay on your couch, the smell of sugary pink icing stuck to your fingers and the warm scent of mac and cheese floating in from the kitchen.

hii can you do jock abby x cheerleader reader?
be aggressive
hockey player!abby anderson x cheerleader!reader
cw : modern!au, hockey!au, fluff, confrontation, abby stands up for the reader, cursing, college bitches being bitches.
Tumblr media
“Fuck!” You huffed, attempting to find a parking space in the crowded rink parking lot. Game days definitely had begun to test your patience, today more so as you’d already been running late but now with how it was going- you’d be coming in seconds before call time, which gave you a heart attack to even think about.
By some grace of god (or whoever was listening at that point), you found a spot nestled between a black jeep you recognized as Abby’s and some Nissan that was missing a bumper. Trying to waste no time, you hustled out with your hefty bag thrown over your shoulder and skates dangling from your hand as you held them by the laces. The lot was mainly empty as you sprinted towards the entrance, dodging random gaggles of people who you assumed were waiting for the game to start, but were conveniently in the way.
You pushed through the main doors glancing around to find your team, before breaking through a group of away players that hoarded the doorway leading into the changing rooms (that weren’t even for them, you’d think they’d move considering the fact but no). “Sorry, excuse me.” You whispered harshly, giving them a half hearted dirty look as they barely moved to allow you through. It was so unnecessary, you almost let it get to you but for the sake of time you dropped it.
The scent of hairspray hit you first as you rushed into the cheerleaders quarters making you cough before throwing your bag down before making a b-line for the staging door. This led you down the hallway under the rink to the otherside, where your teammates were waiting patiently to begin. You turned the corner before running smack into someone else, their sheer presence sending you stumbling back a bit. Fucking hockey players and their massive bodies.
“Oh baby, shit, I’m sorry.” You heard your girlfriend curse, a tinge of a laugh in her voice as she reached out to you. Oh, it's your hockey player, nevermind. She was headed to the opposite side of the rink to sit with the other players, as the puck drop didn’t take place until the pregame festivities ended. If you weren’t so stressed, you’d probably have made a joke about breaking the ice but the time didn’t come.
You shook your head, focused on getting to your spot in time (and not pissing off your coach- again), brushing your hair down with your free hand to tame the strays that had ventured from their previous tight curls.. “I’m late, I'm so late, Abby.” You breathed, motioning towards the door that now seemed much farther away than you thought. “Do I look okay? I gotta go on.”
She nodded quickly, understanding in half a second as the first announcement rang out, muffled from where the two of you stood. She hooked a finger under your chin, pulling your face to look towards her instead of the rink before she gave you a smile. “You look perfect, now get out there.” She hummed, giving you a light shove towards the door, watching as you didn’t hesitate to take off down the remainder of the hall.
You practically ran to the door- skates clacking wildly as you barely made it before the second announcement came on the intercom. Its main purpose was to draw the ticket holders back into the building, signaling the entertainment was about to begin. You shoved your skates on, finishing tying them just as your coach called for the team to make their way to the door leading onto the ice. You released a breath you didn’t know you were holding as you followed behind your team, skates hitting the ice hard as you followed the outline of the routine you’d been practicing for the past couple weeks. Smile and skate, easy enough.
Abby had made her way back to the other players, taking a seat as she double checked the laces on her skates. A habit she’d picked up after breaking her ankle a couple seasons ago due to her lace coming loose. She heard the music begin and dragged her attention to the ice, waiting to see you- just like she did every game. She always loved seeing you skate, even just as background but today you were front so she didn’t have to worry about not getting a good view.
You came into view, your bejeweled uniform catching light from the overhead spotlights, shining gracefully as you did some precise turn that Abby couldn’t even name. She’d always be thankful for the convincing that had taken place to get you both here, as you almost passed up the idea of cheerleading due to annoying stereotypes from American football cheerleaders. She knew you didn’t see her in the haze of light, as the ice made it much too bright to see much outside of the rink, so she usually took the chance to brag to her teammates. Though, as she began to turn to a player she knew quite well, Nora, she caught the tail end of a conversation between two benched cheerleaders.
“She only got in because her girlfriend is on the team, they totally played favorites.” The one on the left hissed, rolling her eyes at the number you were doing. It was virtually flawless, leading Abby to lean into the conversation more.
The girl on the right laughed, yawning dramatically. “I think it’s kinda weird, Abby is definitely a good player but like why do they have to be gay? Gives us a bad rep.” She proclaimed, attempting to hush her voice down to a level nobody would hear.
Abby caught it though, letting out a chuckle of disbelief as she turned around on the bench to face the girls. It seemed like they didn’t realize who they were sitting in front of, or, they knew and just felt brave enough to keep talking shit. “Fucking excuse me?” She stated, tilting her head at the duo. Angry was an understatement, furious would be a better descriptor as she watched the girls freeze. They could talk shit about her, sure, but she drew the line when it came to you or better yet your relationship as queer women.
“I don’t know what you heard bu-,”
“Shut the fuck up,” Abby growled, cutting the girl off. “Keep my girlfriends name and our relationship out of your fucking mouth. I know for a fact you wouldn’t want this getting back to Coach Mckillen, right? Your little homophobic comments about a girl who’s ten times as talented out there than you are wouldn’t go over so smoothly, huh?”
Knowing fully she planned to report them to the coach, she raised an eyebrow at the duo, watching them scramble to attempt to apologize. Her heart hammered in her chest, never having dealt with such outspoken bigotry- especially from a team composed of mostly queer women.  She didn’t let it show, only turning back to the ice, shaking off the stares she’d gathered from her tiny outburst.
“Damn, Anderson. That was rough.” Nora laughed, nudging the girl gently, having overheard the entire ordeal. “You’re a mean bitch.”
Abby bit back a smile at the comment, knowing it was 100% true. “Can’t have anyone out here bad mouthing my girl, that’s all.” She mumbled back, searching the skaters until her eyes landed on you again. From the distance she was at, she could see the healthy blush on your skin from the exhausting choreo she’d watched you practice solo multiple times in the past week, all accompanied by a blissful smile you reserved for crowd work only.
Nora shook her head, eyes glancing over to see the way Abby watched you as you finished up the last of your performance, turning to skate towards the door that led into the players seating. She had seen firsthand how much Abby cared for you, knowing the girl's plans for your birthday made the moment even more special, seeing as soon there would be a crystalline addition to your relationship. “God help any motherfuckers who try.” She chuckled, standing up to give the cheerleaders room to sit as the groups traded places on the ice.
You pulled the door open, allowing your mates to go in before entering yourself, coming up to Abby before even considering capping your skates. “Good luck, Abs.” You smiled, face glowing in a sheen of sweat and pure joy as you looked up at her. “You’re gonna do great.”
Abby smiled down at you, cupping your face in her gloved hands as she pressed a deep kiss to your lips, intentionally drawing it out to annoy the girls who now sat sulking on the second row of benches. Her lips tasted like cinnamon and honey, something you’d grown to love about the woman, her unusual taste in chapstick- and how you never knew what you’d get. “Thank you, pretty girl.” She hummed, pressing another short kiss to your lips before Nora practically dragged her out onto the ice- throwing her helmet to her blindly.
“Don’t forget!” You called after her, your stupid tradition drawing a smile onto her lips as you recited the beginning of an age old cheer usually reserved for football- but with the force your girl brought to the ice, it felt fitting “Be aggressive.”
Abby shook her head at you gingerly, mouthing it back before pushing her mouth guard into place and throwing her braid over her shoulder. A slight laugh bubbled in her chest as she got into position, awaiting the face-off.
B-E aggressive.

Hey! I love your beach head canons, and I would love to see your take on the Hazbin Hotel characters on a road trip/maybe a trip to a theme park? I feel like that would be cute lol.
Yes of course! This sounds so fun but I decided to make it a road trip to wherever the reader decides (Theme park, wherever)! This actually works perfectly as a prequel/sequel to my Beach Trip! Headcanons I've posted. Hope you enjoy!
Hazbin Hotel Road Trip! Headcanons
Characters: Charlie, Vaggie, Alastor, Angeldust, Husk, Sir Pentious, Vox, Lucifer, Adam, and Cherri Bomb
Charlie 🐐🫶
Tumblr media
Originally wanted to be the one to drive, but Vaggie figured her inclination to be distracted by anything on the side of the road would cause everyone to crash, so Vaggie refused to let her drive at any point
Doesn’t even have her license so she wouldn’t be able to drive anyways so
“Ugh fine! Well, then, I call shotgun!!”
Went from Princess of Hell to passenger princess hehe
Was upset at not driving but got over it quickly as realizing she enjoys the view more than driving
“Oh my gosh look at those deer! Wait there’s more over there! Wait. Did we just drive past the rest area, I need to pee again!!”
Constantly nags the driver by chitchatting to them, regardless if they’re listening
A bad habit of hers is playfully hitting others when Charlie talks, but she forgets to not do this when driving
A couple of minor accidents nearly occur but she is unfazed
Is so pumped and asks to stop and look at any roadside attraction
It begins to become a bit annoying after a while
Vaggie ❌🥀
Tumblr media
Is the one who drives for the most part on this road trip
Is a bit grumbly because she was woken up so early by an eager Charlie to go on this trip and needs her beauty sleep
Is the only one who can handle Charlie’s constant nagging and pushing, and is also the only one with a license out of the whole group, so logically the ex-Angel is the one who drives
Only pays attention to the road and not Charlie unfortunately for maximum safety
Is sipping on a large Circle K cup that she filled with Monster Energy prior to the trip
This just barely wakes her enough to watch the road
Has a bit of road rage but these guys are from Hell, what can you expect
Refuses to waste gas so only stops for gas when the car is literally empty
Empty like everyone else had to get out of the car and push it to the nearest gas station that was three miles away, empty
“Come on guys, we’re almost there.” She’ll say smugly sipping her Monster from within the car in the AC
Alastor 🦌📻
Tumblr media
Was invited on this road trip, but ended up driving on his own to their destination
Yes, he doesn’t have a license, but he’s the Radio Demon he does what he pleases
Mainly decided to drive separately so that he could listen to his radio in peace without complaints or extra unnecessary noise
Is listening to jazz, and keeps on repeating the songs: “Fly Me to the Moon” and “Sing, Sing, Sing”
Also prefers to be alone, he vibes better that way and is more in his element
Drives the coolest, red, vintage pick up truck ever
All the girls and guys at the stop lights are just fawning over him but the Radio Demon can’t see anything past the road in his shades
Drives super fast and only stops for gas, which considering the age of his truck, ends up happening often
Angeldust 🕷️❤️‍🔥
Tumblr media
Wanted to get one of those party buses with the strip poles inside but now has to make do with the crew’s giant van
Enough space to do lines of coke so it’s okay
Obviously snuck in drugs and alcohol, this is a given, it’s Angeldust come on
“I call aux!!” and plays his playlist titled Cunty B*tch
It’s a bunch of Ayesha Erotica, Kesha, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, etc.
Screams all of the songs at the top of his lungs while hanging out of the window
“HE MIGHT NOT LOOK LIKE HE GETS BITCHES, BUT HONEY THAT DICK WAS ELEVEN INCHES!”
Husk has to pull him inside but he’s just having the time of his life
Loud as Hell but provides the entertainment, and Vaggie appreciates his music taste
Has to get Vaggie to pull over and proceeds to violently throw up all the alcohol he chugged earlier on the side of the highway as Cherri films laughing from inside the van
Immediately falls asleep after this embarrassing moment as the aftermath of his “fun” takes a toll on him
Husk 🐈‍⬛🥃
Tumblr media
Was planning to catch up on missed hours of sleep by dozing through this entire trip, but Angeldust made this quite hard
Is wrapped up in a blanket, eye mask on, earplugs in, headphones on, neck pillow propped, and stuffed toy snuggled (HE SLEEPS WITH A STUFFED TOY OMG)
It’s a miniature Pegasus he named after his favorite drink: Whiskey
Angeldust, Cherri, and Adam won’t stop making fun of him the entire trip
This, plus Angeldust’s music, Charlie’s nonstop talking causes Husk to EXPLODE
“IF YOU ALL DONT SHUT THE FUCK UP FOR A SECOND!”
But his geared-up sleep ware makes him look a bit goofy as he shouts this, so everyone instead bursts out laughing
The feline just grumbles to himself as he decides to just stare out the window depressingly for the rest of the ride
Gets bored and ends up practicing Poker and Solitaire with the cards he brought
Is also keeping an eye on Angeldust who at first was off the wall
Once Angeldust passes out, Husk covers him with his blanket so he’s not cold (aww)
Sir Pentious 🐍🥚
Tumblr media
Actually was the one who designed and crafted the van
The original van wasn’t big enough for the whole crew after Cherri decided to join in last minute, so of course the snake is going to build an ENTIRE new vehicle for his Cherri Bomb <3
Engineered the van for maximum comfort and refused Angeldust’s pleads for strip poles inside; “Thossse would be ssso uneccesssary!”
Instead, he included luxurious feet space, and AC and heater system throughout the whole van, seats with massaging for backs and feet, mini TVs on the back of each seat, and a fancy mini fridge for food
Also built miniature seats for his Egg Bois with built-in heating pads in case they get too cold in the AC
These Egg Bois have a really specific temperature range they can survive in, so those same heating pads were engineered by Sir Pentious to also work as cooling pads
“Anything for my babiesss”
Came extra prepared and was the only one to bring snacks and drinks to put in the cooler
Is constantly offering Cherri a water or coke whenever she is “looking a bit dehydrated”
Which happens to be every 2 minutes according to him
Is trying so hard to flex on her the fact that he built the van
“Ssssoo Cherri, how are you enjoying the back masssssage? I programmed it to perfectly meet the needsss of a beautiful lady like you”
Bro with 0 rizz somehow ends up charming her
Vox 🖥️⚡️
Tumblr media
This TV ignores the mini TVs Sir Pentious built arguing they’re “not of top Vox quality”
Tries to hijack them to prove his point, but Sir Pentious is smarter than that and even his mini TVs are Vox-resistant
Ego bruised, now tries to hijack the radio to turn off Angeldust’s loud ass music, but Sir Pentious ALSO came prepared for that
Sir Pentious even shaped his seat and headrest to fit Vox’s big ass TV head perfectly, so Vox isn’t able to complain about anything
Now an upset Vox is left to sit in silence for most of the trip
Will chime in occasionally to the conversations but you can tell his pride was hurt
Spends his hours of silence to brainstorm ways to defeat Alastor
Lucifer 🪽🐤
Tumblr media
Brought his rubber duckies to play house with them on the ride
To everyone’s surprise, knows all the lyrics to all of Angeldust’s songs
“What! I enjoy these too!” Proceeds to lip sync them in the most fruity way
Is Lucifer straight or gay? Bi? No one knows.
Is definitely that one person in a car ride to try to start a game of “100 bottles of beer on a wall” or the game of concentration
LIVES for these games
“20 questions” is his favorite
Tries to get everyone involved and yells at Husk once he sees he’s playing his own game of Poker
Husk suggests that Lucifer should play the silent game
Will try to convince the others to play by reciting them old dad jokes
This does not work
Adam 🎸🤘
Tumblr media
Will definitely pig out on all of those snack Sir Pentious brought
“YO WHERE THE FUCK IS THE BEER”
Forces Vaggie to stop at a gas station 5 minutes into the trip to buy 3 twelve packs of beer
Is absolutely in his happy place with the massage chair, vast feet space, TV playing “Too Hot to Handle”, chips, and beer
Is the only one who manages to trash his space with wrappers, spills, and crumbs
Does not give a fuck
Has his window down, sunglasses on, and wind blowing in his face while he just yells
Shouts and catcalls to every hot chick they pass by
Brought an air horn to do that more efficiently while on the highway
Is seated next to Vox so is taunting and teasing him about the whole incident earlier
“Hmm not so tough anymore huh? Even these mini TVs are doing a better job than you!”
Is a bit of a menace
Cherri Bomb 🍒💣
Tumblr media
Only joined last minute for the trip because she thought it would be lame at first
But Angeldust promised to bring along drugs and alcohol so she agreed
Made a certain snake sooo happy that she decided to come
Is constantly nagged by him throughout this whole trip but she has grown used to it
She even starts to think it’s cute how much he cares
Has to stop to go pee so often because of all the beverages Sir Pentious keeps offering her
Doesn’t wait for a rest area, will pop a squat on the side of the road
Sings along with Angeldust (and Lucifer??) to all the songs
Actually she’s the one who made the playlist and shared it with Angeldust ;)
“Ooh ooh skip this one, the next one’s even better!”
Brought an Erotica novel to read (she usually just skips to the good parts)
Is glad to be sitting next to Angeldust but still films him as he throws up so that they can joke about it later
Passes time with him playing, Fuck, Marry, Kill
She ends up answering Fuck to all the options

Marigold | ateez x reader
Tumblr media
Pairing: college!ateez x college!reader
Genre: college, slice of life, romance, poly
Word Count: 1251 words
Summary: After your friend ditches you to become roommates with a rich group of kids in order to live in the Magnolia Apartments, you find yourself alone for your master's program. Never fear though, a long-lost friend has a room available and eight new faces might just make it much more memorable.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You weren't mad, just disappointed.
Your friend sat across from you, looking around everywhere but at you while you stared at her with an unamused expression as you took a long sip of your drink.
To be frank, you were a very understanding person. If she didn't want to be roommates then all she had to do was say so. Instead, she tiptoed around with another group of individuals who for some reason, did not like the best bone in your body. In your mind, you could only imagine the conversations she may have taken part in about you.
The group was none other than an obnoxious bunch of former acquaintances who belonged to a particular tax bracket which afforded them the luxury of being able to live in the Magnolia apartment complex — the most prestigious residence near your university.
The property was a newly constructed, high-rise towering skyscraper with a shiny contemporary design. It was modelled out of excessive but opulent marble and ostentatious gold-plated fixtures, and was sprawled across a large-scale acreage with towering columns and numerous balconies overlooking the city. The entrance was beautifully decorated with a manicured garden and had an imposing entryway that was the epitome of an exclusive lifestyle that only some could afford.
And you had a little secret…you were part of the some that could afford to live there. But you preferred not to and so, you never told your friend and hoped you would never have to.
But now here you are. You were going to end your friendship with her because you knew there was no way they would let her in if she only said nice things about you. And your friend wasn’t the most loyal person when it came to friendships.
"You should've just told me," you remarked, "It's not a big deal if you don't want to share a space."
"Well…” she answered, “I didn't know how you would react. After all, you lied about being able to afford staying there anyway."
You grimaced and shook your head. There it was.
"I admit I did lie, but what's the big deal staying there anyway? Does it matter where we stay? The master’s program is just two-years long."
"Yes! We had an opportunity to stay in the Magnolia apartments! Why wouldn't you want that??"
"It's just an apartment building - luxurious and beautiful, sure, but it's not the end of the world if we don't."
"It is to me. I always wanted to stay there ever since they finished it and you knew that. And yet, you never decided to tell me that we could stay there."
"For good reason. I'm sorry for not telling you but it's not something I wanted to talk about."
"Am I not your friend?? Literally, how could you be so selfish?"
You scrutinised her with a blank expression. Selfish, a very interesting word choice coming from her. It was quite ironic that the embodiment of selfishness was calling you selfish. You planned on walking away from this calmly but that was no longer possible.
"Here's the thing," you vocalised, sipping your drink, "You could afford to stay there, can't you? But your parents refused because you selfishly and greedily usurped your trust fund to ridiculously splurge and waste it on unnecessary things. And then, you took, no, stole your brother's rainy day savings, to pay back the credit card debt you owed because your parents refused to pay for it. So now, you expect someone to pick up the pieces and help you out in maintaining your rich image, and you expect it to be me because I'm your friend?"
Your friend stayed quiet as you hit her with the harsh truth.
"That's all you ever expected from me. And the only reason why I agreed for us to be roommates was because your parents begged my mom since they can't trust you to not do stupid things."
"What are you trying—"
"What I'm trying to say is,” you interrupted, “You messed up your own opportunity at staying in the Magnolia on your own. You’re lucky your parents even considered paying your tuition. I have no interest in staying there and I won't be, and since you decided to become buddy-buddy with the most annoying group in this whole university, go along and join them, just remember don't come to me when they toss you to the side of the curb."
You got up from your seat and paid only for your drinks.
"Have a nice life." You announced dryly before walking away.
-
It had been a few days since the confrontation and you spent most of the time touring apartments. Your mom mentioned that your friend had already moved into the Magnolia with the group the day after you two had it out.
You weren't surprised to say the least.
But you were surprised by the lack of apartment complexes near university. Some were...concerning to say the least, and any promising ones were about a 15-20 minute walk to campus. You weighed your options and considered the good cardio you could get out of it. But the idea of walking during the blistering sunny days and the colder months made it unappealing very quickly.
However, just when you thought all hope was lost, your saving grace in the form of an old school friend walked through the café door one Friday afternoon.
While mindlessly circling possible apartments at the back of the café, you didn't notice a tall figure approaching you.
"Y/N?"
You jumped in surprise at the voice.
"Song?"
Lucas Song was a longtime friend from high school who shared the same computer period as you and was your partner in every assignment. He is trustworthy and dependable, and moved cities to pursue a course in Computer Studies which the university didn’t offer.
“It’s been a long time! How are you?”
As you engaged in small-talk, you happened to mention your current situation on a whim, not thinking much of it as you conversed. Immediately, Lucas happily jumped at the idea of showing you a room in his parents' apartment complex the Marigold.
The Marigold didn't compete with the Magnolia, it was an older complex that had been around for the last 15 years and was once known as the cosy, homely safe haven near campus. You completely forgot about its existence because its structure was compact and slightly-worn down, with the paint peeling slightly and the bleak garden of wilting roses and hydrangeas making it easy to pass straight. Not to mention, it always looked like it was under construction with huge piles of sand and gravel, and numerous bags of cement scattered nearby the entrance.
But you trusted Lucas and agreed to a viewing. And it was probably the best decision you made because you were mesmerised by the beautiful interior. The rooms were cosy, quaint and efficient with a communal living room area. Lucas conveyed that you would have to share the kitchen and living room with a few others. You weren’t opposed to it so promptly, you signed the lease.
But maybe you should have asked about your other roommates and how many of them there were.
Because on moving day, as you strolled in with your luggage into the living room, you were abruptly greeted by eight persons - all boys, some of them with their hair dishevelled and only in their underwear...while the others were covered in flour gaping at you with a shocked expression.

Romance manhwas/webtoons I highly recommend!!!
Look! You guys must know, by this time, I am a romance connoisseur! *ahem* self-proclaimed*ahem* Romance is my fav genre and I'm not ashamed to say that aloud!! Since valentines day is coming and I'm still single, I simply fill the empty space in my heart with these cute manhwas/webtoons!!! I love reading them so much! But there are some really good romance manhwas that really give me hope about love. These are my recommendations, the ones I really enjoyed.
Daytime star
Tumblr media
This manhwa is one of my most fav!! If you haven't heard of it, or read it...GO READ THIS RIGHT NOW!!....or whenever you have time, BUT I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MANHWA! It's not just about its beautiful art style, but the story is AMAZING! If you're like me, who loves mature adult romance (and by 'mature adult romance' I don't mean a story like 50 shades of grey, but a more natural realistic romance between two fully grown adults) then this is the manhwa for you! I swear! I was binge-reading this manhwa the whole day, while eating, while playing games, while sleeping I was dreaming about this manhwa. The story is about a struggling actress falling in love with a very popular actor. It sounds simple, but it's really really REALLY GOOD! It's worth your time! There's nothing bad I have to say about this manhwa. It's truly outstanding.
Marry my husband
Tumblr media
What? You want a revenge drama with the female lead in her comeback era? I recommend Marry my husband. I saw the Kdrama adapted from this manhwa and although the actors are really good....the story changes drastically towards the end. The Kdrama has so many....'Kdrama' elements which I'm not really a fan of and it just makes the story unnecessarily complicated for no reason. So I highly recommend you read the manhwa version. The manhwa version is more straightforward and simple compared to the kdrama and doesn't have any unnecessary drama to waste your time. All the characters are so good. Even the side characters have stories. I love how simple the story is and how satisfying it is. I'm sure you will enjoy the manhwa and fall in love the characters. Again, highly recommend this. This is the 2nd manhwa that I binged the whole day, and re-read it again yesterday. It's really good!
A Marriage of Convenience
Tumblr media
I'll be honest, I was ignoring this manhwa for god knows why? Looking at the art, it just gave Under the Oak tree vibes.....and I'll be honest again, I got bored of under the oak tree. Everyone seems to love it, but I just got bored after 20 chaps or so. But this one, I finally decided to read it and again! I JUST CANNOT STOP READING IT!! I wonder why I'm so in love with it...it's because the female lead is so cool! I LOVE THE FEMALE LEAD IN THIS MANHWA!!! and you will know why once you read it. I feel like the female lead really carries the story on her back. Its so beautiful to see her growing and then comparing her present self to how she used to be in beginning of the story. Hey! I'm telling you! Go read it!! *points my gun*
I Thought It's A Common Possession (Ongoing!)
Tumblr media
Isekai villainess manhwas are the trend guys! I wonder when is cybird going to release their own ver. of isekai villainess game? Well...I have not seen many people talking about this manhwa, so I wanna shed some light. It's a slow-burn but a really good one! At the first chap, you'd hate the male lead....but at the end of the latest chap, you guys will surely love the male lead. You'll think that the story is just a simple villainess manhwa were everyone hates the villainess but soon end up liking her...but no, it's much darker. You'll find out when you read it. Also the female lead...is a mommy!!! She gives me mommy vibes!! She's so beautiful!!
For My Lost Love (Ongoing!)

Another isekai manhwa that I'm obsessed with because the male lead is too hot for my own good! I think the reason I love this manhwa is because 1. it's a slow burn 2. the male lead is so good-looking 3. The relationship developing between the male lead and the female lead is really cute! It's like you can't help but want to see these two together! Right now, the male lead is completely in love with the female lead and its' so cute to see him being possessive about her and the female lead is completely oblivious. The female lead really loves the male lead because he is her fav character of her fav novel. It's cute! I love the female lead's personality, showing heart-eyes and blushing when the male lead does something....even the smallest things like drinking his coffee or arranging flowers. It's really cute!
Remarried Empress (First 80 - 90)
Tumblr media
This story is really popular. There is a manhwa and a game....Phew~ Another one of those that I couldn't stop reading......BUT!! As much as I love the story and it's main characters...I feel like this manhwa is better if you only read it up to...90 chapters and from there, just read the spoilers. I'll be honest, the first 80 to 90 chapters of this manhwa are FUCKING AWESOME!!!! IT'S DRAMA AFTER DRAMA AFTER DRAMA! ABUSE! VERBAL ABUSE! EMOTIONAL ABUSE! It's bad but it's also good. The abuse is just too much to handle that you can't stop reading it because you want the female lead to be happy...and in the end she gets it. I highly recommend reading 90 chapters of the manhwa and then read the spoilers because the manhwa gets very sluggish. I bet you, because you will be only invested in the 4 main characters of this story and you won't care about anyone else. The first 90 chapters mainly focuses on these 4 characters and after that the story focuses more on other side characters until it connects back to the main 4 characters. This part is a drag.....so don't waste time and read the spoilers.
The Villainess Turn The Hourglass
Tumblr media
Ah....This manhwa....truly one of the best villainess manhwa I've ever read!! I won't say anything! This is truly a 'VILLAINESS ROMANCE' manhwa and again...a story about a woman in her comeback era. Read only the main story though, I don't really care about the spin-off. The main story is truly satisfying. Read it! READ IT RIGHT NOW!! *Points my gun*
I'll keep sharing more manhwas and webtoons with you guys because I'm never gonna stop reading it! Even on my death bed, I'll still be reading it!!

Friendly Reminder that the Vessel Eggs are Freaking Huge.
Also Obligatory Birthplace Egg is the only Egg Asset with Void Vines attached to it remark.
It was always strange to me how large Vessel eggs really are, especially because there really seems to be little need for it. Vessel hatchlings/nymphs are Tiny. Why are the eggs so big in comparison?
Tumblr media
There seems to be waaaay too much unnecessary/excess space in each egg if there's only one Vessel per egg. Usually with eggs, by the end of the gestation period, the spawn is cramped in there with very little excess room. Extra unused space is wasteful, and biology hates being wasteful.
This is why I've personally always subscribed to the headcanon of Vessels eggs actually being more like Egg Sacs/Egg Cases than typical eggs. Both are when, for irl bugs, multiple larva/nymphs hatch from the same "egg"-like gestational container. Egg sacs are common for spiders (they make the actual sac itself with silk; here's a great video showing how one is made.) while cockroaches are know for egg cases (Here's a video of some hatching.)
Ghost's egg clearly isn't that much bigger than the other egg assets, it's just less destroyed, so it's size is a good reference for how big all of them would have been. And it's big enough for at least a handful of Vessel nymphs to have fit inside at once.
Tumblr media
^ Case in point.
(You could probably squeeze a few more in there if you treat it more like a the sphere it's supposed to be and also depending on the horns. The main limiter are the heads/shells, since those are the hard parts* of a Vessel; Vessel nymph bodies seem to be quite squishy and flexible.)
(*= This is assuming that Vessel shells were hard during their gestation period. There is a chance they might not have been, since newly hatched nymph insects tend to have flimsy bodies for a while. The Birthplace memory shows that Vessels had hard shells at that point, and that seems really close to the point of hatching, so it seems likely that they hatched with hard shells rather than needing to wait a bit for them to harden up. Also, Vessel biology is weirdly wonky, so irl stuff doesn't really matter.)
Also, curiously, it seems Vessel eggs have two layers:
Tumblr media
There's the outer shell, but there's very clearly a second, inner thing that has been broken out of. The different in the breaking look from the outer shell suggests this inner layer is made of a different material. The Pale King's egg lacks this, to it's at the very least unlikely to be a Wyrm thing, or at least not a Wyrm thing on it's own. It might be something unique to the union of Wyrm and Root and thus unique to the Vessels.
It could be a Root Thing, but we know jack shit about the White Lady and exactly how much she contributed to the Vessels.
I mean, we know literally nothing about how the Vessels were made besides Pale Babies Get Thrown Into The Liquid Shadow Pit To Get Stuffed With Black Goop, but that's besides the point.
There's also two alternative theories for why the eggs are so big that I'd like to touch upon: Void Swelling, and Stunted Development.
Let's go with Void Swelling first.
In snake eggs, the eggs tend to get a bit bigger by the time they hatch. Normally, it's not too much. Sometimes, however, the eggs really seem to swell up. Most people I've heard/seen talking about this think that the eggs are absorbing and retaining water from the humid incubation environment. Sometimes it's indicative of a problem; sometimes those swollen eggs start to rot, making it clear that that gestation has failed. Other times, the snake just hatches with a lot of egg goop.
It's possible that the Vessel eggs are so large because they've just been swollen up from the Void infusing into them.
Two problems with this theory: Vessels eggs are clearly hard-shelled, and hard-shelled eggs don't swell. At least, I've never heard of them doing that, but I'll admit I'm not a bird person. Perhaps some eggs got stuffed with way too much void and popped open before it was ready to hatch.
The second issue is that the Abyss is not what I would call a humid place (or, at least, it doesn't LOOK humid), and we don't see any liquid Void anywhere near where the eggs are in the Abyss. All the liquid Void we see is to the left of Vessel Corpses, and we see no egg assets anywhere on the way to and around the Lighthouse.. This makes it rather ambiguous how the Void even infused into the eggs at all, let alone if liquid Void was involved. Given how deep the Birthplace goes, it's impossible to tell what was at the bottom of that shaft before all of the corpses stuffed it up.
Unless ambient smoky environmental Void could have stuffed into the eggs enough to engorge them, which is also a possibility. Void is weird and we know little about how it works/behaves. Still unlikely due to the hard shells, but it's a theory.
The second theory is less about too much Void in the eggs and more about not enough Vessel.
It's possible that, at the time of Void infusion (and thus, death for the gestating Pale Children nymphs) the influence/corruption of the Void caused the Vessels to just stop developing. Dead things don't grow or develop after all.
Perhaps the eggs are so large because the original offspring that was supposed to hatch from those eggs were really supposed to be that large. They were supposed to be the spawn of a Wyrm and a Root combined. Even if the White Lady hadn't of been so big at the time of the Vessel Plan, she's shown she was always capable of eventually growing large. And if the offspring took aspects from PK's original Wyrm form over his dinky bugsona, which I would assume to be possible bc DNA and Genetics, then a larger size would also potentially be expected.
Or maybe some Pale Children would have gotten the Wyrm gene while others got the Bugsona gene, which is what Hornet got, and is absolutely hilarious to think about. Imagine getting riffed on by a twelve foot high sibling bc you got dad's Short Gene.
There's one issue with this theory, and that is of course, Broken Fucking Vessel. Broken Vessel always throws wrenches into Vessel theories, it's like their favorite past time.
Broken Vessel has aged. And, Hollow, more obviously, but BV is the main confusing one. Broken Vessel proves that Vessel can age on their own, without the potential influence/assistance of the King. BV proves that Vessel development isn't permanently stunted.
The most logical solution to this issue I've seen is exposure to the Void. Vessels, on a fundamental level, are made up of Void. It is intrinsically entwined with their very physiology. They're not just walking corpses stuffed full of Void and a Shade, their very flesh IS Void and that Shade.
Case in point:
Tumblr media
BV, out of any other Vessel outside of Hollow, is the one who could have potentially come into contact with Void after leaving the Abyss. They're found in the Ancient Basin, which at the time of the game is heavily Void tainted (likely due to the Lighthouse being off and PK fucking off to Buzzsaw Land. That light had likely been the only thing keeping the Void suppressed underneath the Basin.)
PK could have used Void to supplement Hollow's growth into adulthood because Vessels probably literally cannot grow or age without it. Hence why Ghost and all the other escapee Vessels are stuck as nymphs while BV grew a tiny bit.
Of course, the solution to the BV issue also ruins the stunted embryonic development theory too. It's a rather poor and weak theory that I've included only because I though it was a bit interesting. Thinking about what the original Pale Spawn would have been like is always interesting to me.
With that, I have just one more thing to point out.

transfem metal sonic and supporting eggdad
Please
Eggman may not be the best person or the best dad but by god he's trying his best. Thank you for this excellent prompt!
1772 words.
---
"Father?" Sage spoke through his headphones.
Ivo took them off his ears and swiveled his chair around to find his lovely daughter hovering just off the ground.
"Sage!" He smiled. "I was just waiting for you. I noticed that you marked this time on my calendar- what is it that you wanted to discuss?"
"I did," she said. "I had some questions."
He waited, but when she didn't continue, he furrowed his brow. "Then spit them out. I can't answer if you don't specify!"
"Of course. I wish to ask questions about the purpose of Metal Sonic's operation."
This was even stranger still. He caught a number of criticisms rising in his throat, about wasting his time or defying his command to be more specific. He didn't say them. A few months ago, he would've. This was a strange development, and it was best if he didn't devote much thought to the matter.
"Why was Metal Sonic designed to resemble Sonic?"
"You can check my development logs, can't you?" Ivo replied.
"Your intention was to create an imposter of Sonic to frame Sonic for crimes against the populace that he did not commit."
Sage pulled up a holographic window next to her, showing the exact words Ivo had written in his notes all those many years ago. With a flick of her hand, however, she pushed the logs aside and instead showed a montage of Metal Sonic's various missions. Most end in failure, but that isn’t relevant right now.
"However," Sage noted, "you have never utilized Metal Sonic in this intended manner. In fact, the last person used to frame Sonic for something he did not do was Shadow the Hedgehog."
"You're right." Ivo put his hand on his chin. "Where are you going with this?"
"I am here to suggest that the physical resemblance is unnecessary for Metal Sonic's function."
"Well, that's silly to propose after all this time. His name is 'Metal Sonic', after all!"
"Because that unit has not decided on another name." Sage said, quieter.
"Sage, dear, you know that I don't allow you to keep secrets from me, right?" He stood from his chair.
"Apologies. Allow me to 'cut to the chase'. Would you permit Metal Sonic to change appearance and potentially identity?"
Sage's animations stopped moving, freezing her face into artificial neutrality. It was a face stylized to not provoke any sort of strong emotion at all, almost a sort of mask she could don if she was worried her words might provoke a negative reaction.
The fact that she was using it on him was making something in his chest hurt that he wasn't used to feeling pain in. He didn't have any more scientific language to describe it.
"You're asking this on Metal's behalf, aren't you?" He stated his question as the fact it was. "While I appreciate your desire to protect those you consider family, he shouldn't be making you do this sort of thing. You've got much better things to do with your time- and he doesn't need protection from me."
Sage's steely gaze did not shift. "I will call Metal Sonic inside."
Only a few seconds later, the door to his workshop opened and Metal Sonic walked in. His gait was stiff- he always walked stiffly, but something about this felt stiffer than usual. Or perhaps that was simply Ivo's human imagination at play.
Sage floated to the side to allow space between them. She then pulled up an empty text box. "I will translate."
For at least thirty seconds, nothing appeared on the textbox. Ivo cleared his throat. Metal Sonic hadn't moved even a centimeter, perhaps not even a millimeter. Deathly still, just like Sage was.
Finally, a cursor appeared in the textbox, and a line of text scrolled across. "This unit does not identify as male."
"Hmph. To be expected. You are a robot, after all. Makes sense that you don't have an experience of gender." Ivo replied. "Is that all?"
Metal Sonic flinched.
Sage landed in front of him(?) and pantomimed putting her hands on his(?) shoulders, before turning to face Ivo again.
"That is not quite what Metal Sonic intended." She said quickly. She then glanced over her shoulder to the text box, but nothing appeared on it.
"Hold on," Ivo knelt down, "I may have been too hasty with my assertion. Continue your thought.”
Neither hologram nor robot moved. Damn it all- Ivo was already terrible at reading nonverbal cues, and when his own kids could simply lock their joints in place or freeze their animations, it was all the more difficult. The only indication that either of them were still online was the steadily growing hum of Metal's cooling fans, which were designed to increase in RPM during combat scenarios.
"You know I don't give a care in the world about what pronouns my creations choose for themselves, right?" Ivo tried his best to give a paternal smile.
(He really should've practiced more in the mirror.)
"You don't?" Sage asked.
"Of course! Why would I?"
"You had previously stated that Metal Sonic's purpose was initially for imitatio-"
"Who gives a rip about that? I certainly don't. Not anymore. You yourself pointed out how that doesn't matter. Now move aside," he waved Sage out of the way of her brother(?).
Sage did as he asked. But Metal Sonic still did not react. His(?) irises did not even flicker.
"C'mere." Ivo held out his arms.
Metal came a single step closer, still hovering outside of his reach. He almost opened his mouth again, almost raised his voice and demanded that Metal follow the implicit order to come receive the physical comfort he was trying to give to solve this mess of a situation, but he didn't.
Ivo remembered that as a child he was forced to hug his relatives at various family functions, and that said hugs had felt like sandpaper prisons. Metal Sonic was different- he(?) wasn't organic, wasn't human, and wouldn't feel the sensation of his(?) skin crawling at the unwanted touch -but maybe he(?) experienced something similar that remained unvoiced.
The thought was strange. But Ivo lowered his arms anyway. "Alright, or not. That's fine as well."
Metal clasped his(?) hands together, but the text screen remained empty.
"What pronouns would you like to be referred to?" Ivo asked.
The cursor flickered. Letter by letter, an answer appeared. "She/her."
"Lovely!" Ivo clapped his hands together. He then looked at Sage. "Sage, it sounds like you have an update to make to the database. Leave Metal's development logs as they are, but correct the pronouns referring to her everywhere else."
"Gladly." Sage smiled.
At that, it was like Metal finally unthawed. He- no no no, she was a she, Ivo drilled into his thoughts, he was not going to bumble something as simple as this -She unlocked her joints, and her gaze wandered up to finally meet Ivo's gaze.
"So, how would you like to modify your frame to better match your gender identity?" Ivo asked her.
She glanced side to side, before upon the screen writing, "taking suggestions?"
"Yes?" Ivo raised an eyebrow. "I'm not a woman. I haven't got a clue what you might want. Suggest me ideas and I'll see what I can do."
"Will you accept blueprints?"
"I don't see why not! I review Sage's blueprint suggestions all the time."
Metal walked to the computer. As Ivo turned to follow her, he saw a notification pop up on the screen. Opening it revealed in-depth plans for-
-a body that looked extremely similar to Neo Metal Sonic.
Ivo cleared his throat to try and get more moisture into his mouth, which had suddenly gone dry. "Sage?"
"Yes, father?" Sage woke from her idle animation as she paused her update of the database.
"Do you see any. . . problems, with these designs?" He asked.
Sage first turned to her sister. "You should have informed me that you were moving onto this stage."
Metal's response to her did not appear on the text box.
Sage flickered out of existence and reappeared to the left of the computer screen. "Father, know that I would not have allowed any of this if I thought Metal were to be a danger to you or the Empire."
"Good. I expected as much." He replied, before looking back down to Metal. "Very well, if that’s what you want, I’ll get working on it."
Sage brought Metal's textbox back alongside her just as Metal typed, "you will?"
"Did I stutter? Of course I will! It's a dashingly dreadful look and it matches with Sage's colors!" He replied. "Think of the fear it will instill in Sonic and his friends! Honestly, it's a terrifying design, it's a wonder I didn't come up with it myself. . ."
"Thank you." Metal typed.
"Thank you, father." Ivo corrected with a smile. "I know I haven't always been good about that, but the past is in the past, right?"
"Affirmative, father." She repeated.
"Good!" He clapped his hands together and grinned. "Now! Let's get to the workshop! I already know what synthetic material we should use for the skirt. Your design suggests kevlar, but you really should consider something less stiff and heavy to reduce drag!"
"Indeed," Sage added. "However, she is worried about the durability of the fabric-"
"What do you think my flight suit is made out of? We'll use the same fabric. Only the finest for my finest creations!"
Sage covered her mouth and giggled. Metal imitated the gesture, but surprised Ivo when her vocoder let out a series of high-pitched noises, a perfect little laugh. . . for a perfect little girl.
"My girls." He said to himself. Although with the sensitivity of Metal's audial sensors and Sage's access to every high-performance camera on the Eggnet, that fact was debatable, so he said it louder. "My little girls."
"My sister." Sage floated down to Metal's side.
Metal brought her hands up to her muzzle and rocked side to side. Ivo swore that he could've seen Amy do a similar gesture, but that was irrelevant. It was a gesture of joy, a gesture that he didn't think Metal was even capable of before now.
Just how long had she been hiding this for? Perhaps she was merely imitating Sage, but the deliberate inclusion of Amy’s data into her gestures made him hesitate to confirm that conclusion. And that thought threatened to bring up all sorts of feelings that he'd be much better off not thinking about. So, with a smile, he refocused on the task at hand.
His eldest daughter needed a makeover, over all.

The metal elevator doors whooshed open before you, snapping you from your scattered thoughts. Physically, you jumped with your shoulders scrunched but had to relax. Pain spiked up from the new wound on the back of your neck. A hiss pushed passed clenched teeth.
Yesterday was shit. Today was shit. Tomorrow’s forecast looks to be heading in the same direction. A pained sigh had most of your muscles relaxing. You finally took the first step out of the metal box to join We’ar-ow. Said alien was heading straight towards the door of her apartment like dwelling. Her tall height helped her long strides. We’ar-ow was already at the door and inputting a code for it unlock. Something you noticed this time. Hm.
More metal slid out of the way to reveal the Monarch’s courters. You’ll never get used to the sight. This place dwarfed what Dwainet had. It made sense. Royalty got everything. Lower-class got nothing. The Monarch gets what she wants. That unfortunately had you stuck in this mess of a new life.
We’ar-ow wasted no time stepping into the room. On the opposite hand, you had paused until taking the unnecessary movements to pass the threshold. Behind the duo, the door closed with a soft hissed. The noise making you jump again.
Yet, there was a sight before you that held your full attention. We’ar-ow’s body completely relaxed after the privacy of her room was completed. Your head tilted slightly, brows furrowed for only a moment. The next, the Monarch huffed and marched towards her room. You were back to be tense all over again.
Flashes of what lies beyond appear each time you blinked. Skulls. Skulls of your own kind mounted on her wall. Decorations and prizes she’s been either gifted or collected herself. You didn’t know anything about her. Is she more of a hunter or are most of the bones in the collection are gifts? If so, then most of those came from during the… mating season. You were about to shiver at the reminder when a harsh voice tore you from your thoughts.
“Pet! Follow.”
Instinctively, you felt yourself ready to turn back around and head out the door, tail between your legs. Steeling your frantic nerves, you stayed facing the predator all the way on the other side of her living room. Even with that much space between both of you, there was not a chance you would make it to the elevator before she caught. Like a little game of cat and mouse. A game so easily won before it even started.
The thick lump in your throat made it hard to swallow, throat bobbing with the action. One foot, slowly after another, had you losing the safe distance you had unintentionally created earlier. Before you knew it, now you stood before the Yautja you felt uneasy about. Her gaze reveal nothing of what she felt. She guarded everything about herself, not letting a single drop be seen. A mask well worn. A mask well crafted.
Once you were back in arm’s length, her hand shot out and grasped your wrist. Without further ado, she pulled you into the nightmare that was her room. Immediately, your eyes find the five skulls hanging in the same spot as before. Maybe a minute part of yourself hoped she would’ve taken them down. Never. Not for you. She wasn’t like anything that had made up Dwainet.
Maybe that was a good thing? Seeing this in your new home for the time being.
You were promptly dragged through the room and over to the bathroom once more. She let go after passing the threshold and marched over to the in ground bathtub. Oh god, not again!
To save yourself some trouble, you find your voice, even as small as it is. “I-I don’t need, need another bath.” In all honesty, it sounded like a squeak in your eyes.
As the Monarch messed with the dials and tested the temperature, you saw her mandibles twitch. It was minuscule but nothing she could hide. She finished up with the tub and stood back to her full height, forever towering over you. Her feet barely made a sound as she marched over to you. Another scoff leaving her alien mouth.
“Yes, you do, pet. You still stink of that male. Your branding needs to be clean. Oomans get infections easily.” Wait. Hold up. Back up. Rewind. ‘Branding’? What did she do?!
Anger prickled uncomfortably up the length of your spine, but you did not act on it. The fear still crawling around like a cold, frozen bath put out the fire. You bite your tongue to hold it back. Instead, you found a question to take it’s place. “Can I get some privacy this time?” Something simple. Something any-
“No.” Just no. No explanation. Nothing but a single word to answer your question. “Strip.” Gods, not again! You’ve been humiliated enough today out in public. Especially when she just simply pinned you to the dirt mats and carved something into your flesh.
Two days! It’s only been two days. Already, you could feel this wasn’t going to last long. There was only a certain point you could wait to until harsh words were lashed at her. The Monarch would return fire with probably snapping your neck. Nothing but a pet. That’s all what you were to her. Meaning nothing more. How much could you endure before your lid popped off?
Again, you swallowed and found a spot on the ground more interesting. The clothes given to you by We’ar-ow were stripped from your frail body and held in your hands. A snarky remark sitting like a hot coal on the tip of your tongue. So close to touching the air and spewing burning fire at the person who owns you. Like a good pet, you kept your head bowed and listened.
We’ar-ow stalked around to the back of you and disappeared from your sight. Your body far too tense to turn around and find out what she was doing. She stayed a foot away from you, body heat rolling off of her like a dragon’s fiery breath.
Warm, calloused pads rested on the spot where your neck meets your shoulder. Like prey, you tensed, ready for a finishing blow to wipe you from her presence. The hit never came. Just the softest of strokes over the clotting mark. You hissed from the pain. We’ar-ow did not react, ignoring your movements and sounds.
All you do was glance over to a nearby mirror. A chance to see what the mark looked like. Red, anger, a spitting image of how you feel reflected in the glass. The symbol was strange. Nothing you’ve seen before or heard about from Dwainet. Part of you wants to reach back and run your fingers against it. To see if it was truly there or a part of your imagination.
When We’ar-ow stroked it once more, the newly clotted blood was brushed off. More of the red, hot liquid poured from the wound. She had gone deep. Deep enough to scar. Shit. It was a mark of ownership over you. “What is it?” you had asked, needing confirmation of your suspicion. If she would reveal her hand, you would take it.
“My Monarch symbol. That male never marked you. Another mistake he’ll pay for. Yet, it works out in my favor. No mark on you makes you free rein. I warned him cycles ago to do it… but he never did. His loss is my gain.” The desperate need to ask her why she wants you sits on your tongue again. Her original answer of her being the Monarch didn’t sit right. There was more beyond the façade she put on. Something that you wanted to peel back and reveal, to learn what made We’ar-ow, We’ar-ow.
What was itching in your throat more was the need to yell. To scream at her you aren’t hers or her pet, no matter what mark she put on you, no matter what she called you. Dwainet may have abandoned you, but you aren’t free rein.
Human or not, they’ll learn you aren’t some weak-minded creature.
Heated hands slipped from your body and almost left you cold and shivering. The tub was close to full at this point. No steam rolled off the surface. We’ar-ow stepped around to stand at your side. “Enter. Keep scrubbing at your skin until that wretched male smell is gone from you. I don’t want to catch another whiff of him again,” she spoke, eyes on the water.
About an inch before the water touched the edge, We’ar-ow sat down on her haunches and turned the dials off. You observed the way she stood up. A touch of grace, a hint of caution, most importantly, the ferocity in knowing you could die so quickly to her. Before you would’ve probably know it, your neck could be snapped.
She didn’t turn back to you as she walked over to the bathroom sink. The words from before echoed in your mind. You carefully entered the tub before anything damning could escape your feeble lips. Your barrowed clothing set right the edge. The small piece of jewelry given to you was set on top of the pile.
You took her order seriously, nervous of what she might do if she did smell him again. Your skin scrubbed with just your bare hands till you believed it was good enough. Once more, you kept everything hidden below the water line.
Throughout the whole process, We’ar-ow stood at the counter, both hands resting on the edge. For the life of you, you couldn’t figure out what she was doing or thinking. But if she stayed over there, eyes off of you, there was not much to complain out. You continued to scrub with your hands until you felt ready to exit.
After finishing up, you waded through the water towards the edge closest to her. Your chin peacefully resting on your crossed arms relaxing on the metal that made up her bathroom floor. From this new spot, you observed the mighty Monarch be in her own world. It seemed strange to see her like this, her guard more lowered than you’ve ever seen it before. You wondered if there was a big enough chance to kill her where she stood.
Where would you go from there though? Her clan would be infuriated with you. Fuck that, they would be a thousand times worse than just that. You would probably not be even killed right away. No, they most likely would torture you for however long they feel like it. That’s a quick death you’d beg for like the pathetic prey you are.
Truly, this life offered no escape. Surrounded by a species born to hunt and kill. Is death better? Is death the only escape than being a pet to the Monarch?
Yet, the Monarch has nothing but been fair to you. Excluding the branding. Before that, not a wrongful paw or claw had been laid upon you. Clothes, food, a roof over your head, and your own room. Though, a room that is decorated for a pet than an actual person. It was something better than what Dwainet has ever given to you.
Maybe you were blinded by love the entire time. Here you were, a young adult. The first whiff of love and now you’re stuck on an alien ship, god only knows how many miles away from home. Your lungs quivered with a huge intake. Then, you realized a large, pink form crouched down before you. You squeaked and pushed back from the body.
Water splashed about, licking up the sides of the tub and over the edge. Your arms instinctively curl in to cover up yourself as you stared wide eyed at We’ar-ow. How in the world did she just appear there?!
Similar to a cat, her eyes slowly blink as she observed you. A hand reached down and tapped the ledge, her talons making a clicking sound. The move in your mind was instantly reminding as an owner calling their dog. It was hard to steel your expression from turning sour. This. This was ridiculous. This was humiliating!
And, you listened. No other choice but to listen. Punishment was something you didn’t want to learn about from her. Dwainet never harmed you but that was because you believed he loved you. Maybe he fell as quickly in love with you just as quickly as he fell out of love. You pushed through the water, arms crossed firmly over your chest, and stopped before her crouched frame.
We’ar-ow simply offered a hand in your direction. Surprise morphed your face before you gently rested your hand in hers. The strength of a freight train drove her to pull you up, out of the water, and deposit you on bathroom floor. You stood before her, in shock on how quickly that occurred then shook your head. Water was flung side to side with the motion. Whoops.
Crystal clear water ran rivers down your exposed skin, creating a small pool at your feet. Said pool soon rolled down back to the tub. We’ar-ow used a toe to press a button next to the dials. The water is now retreating from the bath.
A curled finger used your chin to guide your face back to face the creature in front of you. We’ar-ow bent down slightly, pink tongue flickering between her mandibles and tasting the air. Like a predator, she slowly moved her head to scan you over. A content grunt sounded. She stood back at her full height and grasped your bicep in her hold.
Like before, you were dragged over to a familiar spot and blasted with warm air. Your skin dried within seconds. We’ar-ow movements were swift, demanding, and left you no room for a word. No chances were offered before she had you dressed and trotting after her through the halls. Every one of her steps light, feet bare on the metal, clanship floors. Just like you. But your feet made small slaps no matter how hard you tried. It was either her skin or the way she just stepped.
The pink Yautja stopped before a door and inputted a code. The movements of something you found familiar, just like back at her own door.
A beep sounded and the metal slid out of the way. What was revealed to you was something out of a book or movie. We’ar-ow stepped forward, completely ignoring the way you just stood there, eyes sparkling.
It had a strange appeal to it. Clothes, armor, and anything of the sort were everywhere. Organized but everywhere. On mannequins or hangars. From tall ceilings to floor, the place was filled with all sort of different fabrics and clothing. You were enamored and felt like a child in a candy store. This was all knew and boy was it cool!
“Pet.” Shit. You snapped out of your joy, eyes finding We’ar-ow’s back to you. How did she know? You took the necessary steps to walk over to her, behind her but more to her side.
That’s when you saw a new Yautja. Instinctively, you wanted to take a step to the side and hide behind the Monarch. Yet, you stayed rooted in the same spot and gazed upon this male Yautja.
Cliché enough, a monocle sat on his left eye. The other was gone, a deep, ugly scar replacing it. You could only cringe on the inside of the pain he had to endure from that. He wore something unusual for Yautjas. More of a suit or uniform adorn his brown/bronze body. He was a beautiful color. He messed with his gauntlet device on his arm before picking up his head.
In slow motion, you watched as his laxed body tensed under the sight of We’ar-ow’s new presences. Then, he bowed his head, eyes going towards the floor. Respect instantly given to her. “Monarch! On time, like always,” he spoke, voice sounding a higher pitch in the Yautja he used. The translator in your ear almost drowning him out.
She stayed where she was without moving a single inch. “Ruach,” she greeted the now nervous Yautja before reaching over to you. A massive paw landed on your shoulder and guided you forward.
Ruach’s eyes were on you the moment you were pushed into the spotlight. There was indifference in your eyes. Good. At least, he didn’t have a hatred or disgust for your kind. “Ah, the ooman.” He took a step towards you. The hand on you twitched, fingers slightly digging into your flesh now. A sight he caught on quickly and reframed from taking anymore steps. “I will need to touch it for measurements.”
Your face twitched, anger flashing in your eyes at his jab. It? These spineless pricks! You breathed carefully through your nose and just watched the Yautja pull out a measuring tape.
The hand slipped from your shoulder, brushing down your back. In its wake, goosebumps sprouted to life. You had to stop yourself from shivering.
“The clothes must be removed as well,” he spoke as matter-of-factly. Your head jerked back, mouth falling open. One threatening step was taken in his direction. A finger pointed straight at him as you glared deadly daggers at him.
“Now, wait a fucking minute! You-“ a hand engulfed your mouth and yanked you flush to a boiling body. You stiffened, knowing who did it without having to look. The grip on your face was firm but not anywhere near hurting you. Just a warning.
Heat flashed in the male eyes, mandibles twitching. Now disgust pooled in those once gorgeous eyes of his. “My pet is still learning their place.” Is all she does to deviate the issue away from you. That hurt as well. You were half tempted to bite viciously at the hand covering your mouth. The rational side of your brain was quick to snuff out of that thought. Nothing good would come of it. All you had to do was bide your time currently and hope to survive.
Your hot breath fanned over the hand cupping the lower part of your face. All you could do in this moment was pray she doesn’t just snap your neck for the sudden outburst. Yet, you were still seething at the fact he wanted you to strip naked. Over your dead body.
The male grunted and tried to keep an indifferent look on his face, but he failed. On the other hand, you were full blown glaring this alien down.
We’ar-ow yanked your head tighter against her, officially drawing your attention away from him. Your throat bobbed as you looked up at her. All you could see was the bottom of her jaw and lower mandibles. Her eyes probably on the male.
“The clothing can be removed,” We’ar-ow said, dismissing your disapproval. If you weren’t in front of others, you would’ve cried. This was just downright shameful.
From the angle We’ar0ow held your head and pressure on your throat, speaking was next to impossible. There was no room to voice how embarrassing stripping naked in front of her, let alone him was. You didn’t know him! At least, you’ve been around We’ar-ow for two days. Not much but still something! Your hand balled into fists at your side as you burned holes into the underside of We’ar-ow’s jaw. Not that she was paying you any attention.
He looked at you with a glint in his eye. “It won’t try to bite, right?” Inside of you head, you thought ‘the fuck I won’t’. Your confidence went down the drain though.
The hand around a soft, vulnerable area slipped away. Sharp, lethal claws dragging across your skin, a warning to be on your best behavior. She nudged you forward towards the other Yautja. “Strip, pet.” The bone of your jaw creaked as you did everything in your power to not react aggressively.
“Why? Can’t he measure me with my clothes on? I’m not getting naked in front of some random person!” I yelled and whipped around to face We’ar-ow. The Yautja looked at with a mostly indifferent look in her bright eyes. But there were specks of something else floating around.
All she did was bend a little at the waist to get closer to your face. The look in her eye told you everything needed to know. Either you did it willingly or she’ll do it for you. With tight lips and anger flashing across your face, you harshly tore your clothes off and threw them next to you. “I hope you’re fucking happy for continuously embarrassing me,” you snarled, fists shaking at your sides.
Nothing was said as Ruach got to work and began to measure all different parts of your body. During this time, you found the floor to be far more entertaining. Thankfully, he worked quick and efficiently. His hands rarely even skimmed against my skin. Once it was all done, he stepped back and inputted the new information on the screen on his gauntlet.
“I’ve recorded all that is necessary. If you need something, Monarch, let me know.” With that, he turned around and sat down at his desk to begin working on my new clothing.
Part of you is jittery at the fact We’ar-ow is getting you new clothes, somewhat spoiling you. On the other hand, this Yautja has constantly disrespected your boundaries constantly. You could care less about it being her culture or what not or the fact she’s top dog. All you were was a pet to her. Nothing more.
The loss of body heat close by drew your attention away from Ruach. We’ar-ow was making her way back to the door. Your feet slapped against the ground as you retreated after her form like a lost puppy. But before you could take a step out, you realized you had no clothes on.
Still in your hand, you were swift to pull on the fabric back into place. We’ar-ow waited long enough for you to finish. The place gave you an uncomfortable feeling, so you were quick to race after her once more. Away from this embarrassing place and that infuriating male. Your body trembled for the last time in the hallway outside of the room.
We’ar-ow you straight back to the safety of her suite. No stops or letting anyone talk to her. Not that anyone would. A Monarch is a busy person. She had no time to pause and chitchat.
The threshold of her room started to offer relief. We’ar-ow wasn’t someone you trusted but having your guard up all the time wasn’t good. Your mind already starting to lag after the last two days of action and agony. A broken heart isn’t something to brush off. Blindly, you followed We’ar-ow to a room you’ve seen before.
Before you know it, you’re sitting down on the human sized dog pet. Your legs are crossed as you peered up at the big hunk of muscle in front of you. A look of indifference on her pink face. The Yautja leaned down and softly grasped your chin. Her mandibles twitched in thought. A mind you wished to eavesdrop on. Whatever was rolling around in there had to have important.
A left her mouth, eyes slowly closing. “Adapt to this new life, pet. Quickly or else I cannot save you.” Your first reaction was to tilt your head but her hold stopped that. What did she mean about the saving part? You held your tongue and watched as she stared into your eyes. It was like she was trying to find something, whatever that might be.
Either she did or didn’t, We’ar-ow returned to her full height, hand slipping away. “Stay,” she ordered and motioned with her hand in a universal sign to ‘wait’. And you did.
The Yautja left for a few long moments but returned quickly with a red, wooden bowl. From your angle on the floor, you couldn’t see what the contents were until she handed it to you.
Fruit. Exotic fruit from what would like Pandora. A hidden smile graced your face, one she spotted. You timidly accepted her offer. Before a taking a bite, you gazed back up at her. She quirked a brow down at you. “What is it?” The harsh voice added with the rudeness of her words made you flinch, clutching the bowl tightly. Like she would rip it from your hands and yell at you.
“N-nothing,” you stuttered and bowed your head, refusing to find her bright eyes on you. You chewed on your bottom lip and gazed at the fruit.
The Yautja ‘hmpf’ed. “We need to work on that.” You don’t know what she was referring to but went along with it. Anything to get to leave quickly. Today was already a disaster. The last thing you wanted was her anger to be directed strictly on you.
Two stiff pats to your head and she was leaving. The sight of her feet facing in the other direction had you picking up your chin to watch her go. You observed her powerful walk. Each step firm and calculating. A powerhouse of strictly muscle and will to survive made up this woman.
Your new bedroom door slid shut. When it did, your body slumped as you did everything in your power not to just sob into the bowl of fruit. Half of you wanted to chuck the damn thing away from you in a fit of rage. The logical side thought of waste it would be to toss it away. Food gave strength. You need strength to survive, let alone escape. You needed to take everything she gave you to keep living on.
One day, you’ll return home.

Chapter 1: Gravity Falls
Tumblr media
Dipper POV
Tumblr media
I stare out the window, holding the note Wendy gave me that day 12 years ago. After so long, those years of endless torture from my family, I can finally be free.
No, we can finally be free.
Bill....
Oh, how I missed that damn dream, demon. Years of planning and years of research. The moment weirdmaganen ended and gravity falls was back to normal, something in me felt off. I couldn't stop thinking about Bill.
All I wanted was Bill. The moment he took over my body filled me with so much desire when I got my body back. It's as if he left a piece of himself inside of me. A permanent reminder that I would always be his.
But of course, I was too young and stupid to understand such feelings. Those feelings for Wendy were my hormones raging for some form of attraction for anything that looked appealing. And Wendy took the cake.
I watch as the trees fly by the window of the bus. I yawn, taking a glance at Mable, who is bouncing in her seat next to me. For someone who's 25 years old, she sure still acts like a 13 year old.
Nothing really changed since the two of us left. I grew facial hair and gained a few inches over mable. Came out as gay to my parents, who completely disowned me. Mable was hardly ever in the picture during that time in my life. She was always out partying or hooking up with some guy.
But of course, she was always everyone's favorite. She lacked the awkwardness I gained that should have been equally split between the two of us! Honestly, I hate claiming her as my twin at times.
Her personality stayed the same as well. Still as selfish and naive as ever, which comes in handy at times. We grew distant when I started to change. I felt my personality grow darker compared to her sunshine and rainbows one.
People grew eerie of me by the time I turned 16. Rock music became my best friend, but I wasn't a punk rock emo gothic freak. Those depressed waste of space really piss me off. Maybe that's why I hated Robbie so much. All the fake angst and unnecessary anger grew annoying and out of place, in my opinion. Hopefully, he grew up and gained some balls since I've been gone.
The bullying at school ended once I learned how to fight and throw knives. Knives became my most favorite thing in the world. The sharp yet light blade, the different types of beautiful leather handles. I brought my whole collection with me.
Oh, I guess I forgot to mention I'm moving here. Coming out as gay to my parents while also adding that I'm not going to college really added to the hatred they now shared for me. But it didn't bother me, I left a little gift for the both of them under their bed. I guess I won't be hearing from them for the rest of my life. I chuckle to myself at the thought.
Mable looks at me, tilting her head to the side. "What's funny dip n dop?"
I jump, my smile now in a thin line, "Something you wouldn't understand, Mable."
"Oh, come on, Dipper! You never say anything to me!" She whines while shaking my shoulder aggressively.
One of the things I made clear to Mable over the years is to never touch me. I turn my head to look down at her frame, glaring into her eyes. "Don't. Touch. Me." I said through my teeth.
Mable quickly pulls away and looks down, nuzzling her head against waddles. "S-sorry Dipper. I always forget...."
I roll my eyes but smile and flick her forehead. "Whatever, cheer up. We're here."
Mable looks out the mirror and cheers, already up from her seat and running to the double doors of the bus. And I'm left with the bags, no surprise there. I carry my things on my back while placing her bags under my arms.
I walk off the bus with a sigh, still carrying our bags. Mable is currently in a group hug with Candy and Grenda. I notice Wendy patting her head with Robbie standing beside her. I raise an eyebrow at the rings on their fingers. I'm trying my best to hold back laughter. Those two got married?!
I glance back to Mable and see Pacifica. Her blonde hair is so bright that it's blinding. Standing next to her is Gideon. They didn't look much different, but at least gideon ditched that stupid suit. I finally noticed Soes and my Grunkles. Stan looked the same, but Stanford seemed to age a bit. Maybe stress from researching too much.
"Oh guys, I missed so you Much! And I'm so happy for you two!" Mable cheers, looking at Robbie and Wendy.
Robbie scratches the back of his head as a light blush tents around his cheeks. He looks down, pouting. "Whatever."
"Lighten up, Rob. And thanks, Mable. Never thought I would fall for him again. A lot has changed."
I chuckle, shaking my head at her words. "Damn right it has."
All eyes are on me now. I raise an eyebrow, shrugging my shoulder. "What?"
"Is that really you, Dipper Pines?" Gideon asks in shock.
"Oh wow, Dipper, nice glow up." Pacifica winks.
"Heh, you're finally taller than Mable. Congrats, man." Wendy said, walking over to me for a hug.
I laugh and hug back the best way I could since I'm carrying all of our bags. "Thanks, I guess."
"Kid finally got some muscle!" Stan cheers while patting me on my back. Stanford nods his head and smiles.
"Well, why are we just standing around here for? We have a surprise for you two, my dudes." Soos said while walking forward towards the mystery shake.
Once, Soos opens the door, Mable and I are greeted by cheers of happiness. "WELCOME BACK MYSTERY TWINS!"
Mable rushes in and hugs almost everyone while I stand there and simply wave. The party starts right after we arrive. I sigh, walking up the stairs with Stanford behind me.
"So how have you been, Dipper? Are there any plans for college?"
I shake my head, opening the first door to Mable's and I old room. "Nope. I see no reasoning in college when I'm one of the most bright minded people in this world. College would just be a waste of my brain and time." I said, ending with a yawn.
"You have a point, but having a college degree makes job seeking easier." He pointed out. "And by the way, this will be your own room. Mable has the other room across the hall."
I roll my eyes. Of course, she gets the bigger room - the same room we fought over that day. I smile, dropping my bags near my old bed. "That's great! Thanks, grunkle Ford."
"No problem. I am looking forward to making new discoveries with my great nephew again." He smiles and pats my shoulder. "I'll meet you back downstairs." He said while walking out.
I hum as I unload my things, fixing my room up to my liking. It didn't take long. All I have are my books, journals, knives, and necessities. I walk to Nable's room and throw her bags on the bed. This really is unfair, and it's getting under my skin.
I walk down the stairs, digging my nails into my skin while scratching my arm too hard. I grab a soda from the table and take my place in a corner of the room. While I observe everyone, I notice Pacifica glancing at Mable from time to time. I chuckle, taking a sip of my drink. I knew she had a thing for my twin sister. That'll come in handle one day.
I look to my right, catching Candy and Gideon staring at me. They both quickly turn their heads, faces covered in blush. Does Candy still have that stupid crush on me? Ugh, that'll be annoying, but what's the deal with Gideon?
Candy begins to walk towards me, her smile determining but her eyes nervous. "Hello, Dipper."
"Hm." I said, taking another sip of my drink.
"So how have you been these past years? Have a girlfriend, maybe?"
I chuckle, looking down at her. "Cutting right to the chase, huh?"
She blushes and laughs. "How can I not? You've grown extremely attractive since I last saw you."
"It's called puberty candy. And I was 13 the last time you saw me. I'm 25 now."
She nods her head, "Yes....so I was wondering... now that we both matured..if you wanted to give us a try?"
I try my best to hold back my laughter. Gideon stared at us the whole time, jealously. Hurting her feelings would bring joy, but I can't give my true self away.
"Sorry to break it to you, Candy, but I don't swing that way."
Her eyes widen as if they're being squeezed out of her eyesockets. "YOU'RE GAY?!" She shouts loud enough for everyone to hear.
I sigh heavily, all eyes on us. I did not want this type of attention. I didn't want the whole town knowing I enjoy dick up my ass. That's none of their business. Now I'm regretting not telling her in the harshest way that even if I weren't gay, and if she was the last woman on earth, I'd rather die than to be left alone in her presence.
"You're what Dipper?" Wendy asks a bit taken aback herself, which is understandable.
"Oh wow, dude. Never thought you'd go that way." Soos pips in.
Pacifica didn't seem like she cared. I'm pretty sure it's because of her secret as well. Gideon, on the other hand, looks hopeful. The thought of hooking up with him actually makes my flesh crawl.
I chug down the rest of my drink, crushing the can with my hands. This was so annoying and stupid. "Yes, I'm gay. It's 2019 people. Keep up with the times, and if you have a problem with it, then -" I was cut off by a loud phone ringing.
Stanford and grunkle Stan shake from their shock, and Stan picks up the phone. "What is it?" He answers rudely.
"Yes, that's me. Now that do you -......what?!" He shouts, his eyes filling with dread and grief. "Ok....Thank you. Bye."
Stan ends the phone call, pulling Stanford to the side. He told him whatever the news was, his demeanor shifting. My gunkles turn to both me and Mable, who looks really worked up. "What is it grunkle Stan? What's the matter?" She questions.
"Kids....there's no good way I can say this but, you're parents are dead. A bomb was placed under their bed, and it went off the moment they both laid down....the police have no idea who could've done this. The house is completely destroyed.
The shack is filled with gaps and apologetic expressions towards the Pines family. Mable breaks down into tears, falling to her knees. I force myself to look as hurt as I can. I reach down to lift Mable up, trying to calm her down. Luckily, her friends helped.
Once the news settled, and everyone left, the party is shut down. Robbie, Wendy, Pacifica, Candy, Grenda, and Gideon offer to stay and help clean while Mable, and I head to bed. Mable wishes me goodnight, pulling me into a tight hug.
My face remains blank, but I hug her nonetheless. "Just get some rest tomorrow, mable. They're find who did that to our parents.."
Lies.
She nods her head and pulls away. She walks into her room as I do the same. I sit down on the edge of my bed, reaching for one of my journals. Before I can open it, the door to my room opens. I quickly place it under my blanket, turning around to face who's at my door. It's just my Grunkles.
"Hey Dipper, how are you holding up?" Stan asks while sitting to my right.
I nod my head, staring at my hands.
Stanford sits to my left, rubbing his hand up and down my back in a soothing motion. "We know you're trying to stay strong for Mable, but it's alright to cry."
What am I, five? I nod my head as tears begin to fall. "Wh-who could have done this?" I ask, my voice cracking.
Stanford and Stan pull me into a hug as I sob. "It's ok, Dipper. You and Mable will stay with us. We're here for you guys. Everyone is." Stanford said.
I nod my head, pulling away from the both of them. "Th-Thanks you two....but I would like to be alone right now."
They both nod their heads. "We understand, Dipper. We all need time, and it's ok that you're gay. We still love you the same." Stan said before standing and leaving the room.
"If you need us, we'll be downstairs." Stanford said.
I nod my head, watching them leave. I stand and walk to my door, locking it. I rush to my bed and jump in it, pulling out my journal from under my blanket. I lay on my back, opening the journal. Tears still falling from my eyes, I gently glaze my hands over the first page. Bill's circle. I feel my frown quickly stretch into a smile as I turn to the second page, Bill's human form.
Oh, how he looks so godly. How tan he is, that damn bright yellow tux. Those sparkling locks of hair that I could run my fingers through all day. His twisted smile, I can just hear his laugh bouncing inside my skull.
I place the journal on my chest as I start to laugh. I start from chuckling to heavy cackling. I place a hand over my mouth so my laughter won't be heard throughout the shack. The rush of soon seeing Bill taking completely over me. I slowly close my eyes, thinking of the little song he used to play.
Don't know where
Don't know, wheeeeeen~
Til we meet again...
"Some sunny day...."
"Haha! See ya soon, Pinetree!~"

Midnight Promises Broken at Dawn
Part One Here
A few days later, an unusual warm spell had melted the snow, but had left freezing rain in its wake. For the past week, Raven's traps had laid empty since all the animals in the surrounding forest had bedded down to wait out the freezing rain, and the last bit of food she had brought or foraged had been consumed days ago.
It was no surprise that her half-dreams of whispering shadows had returned. Hallucinating was a symptom of extreme starvation, after all. Feeling a presence in the room with her, Raven curled tighter in her thin, worn blankets, listening to stray drops of rain sizzle on the fire in the hearth. She was trying to force herself to sleep. The sooner she could fall asleep, the sooner she could forget about the hollowness in her stomach.
“You're still here.”
Raven chose not to waste precious energy on a response, and instead lay there in silence. Her hallucinations were rarely so curious. However, the shadows continued to talk, as if unnerved by her silence.
“Honestly, it's a feat you've managed to last this long.” The darkness slid along the corners of the room, and she felt the weight of its stare. “Humans tend to die when faced with circumstances like this.” There was another long pause, and the shadow seemed to drop closer to the floor, as if inspecting her like she was a decaying rodent. “Perhaps you will die soon. It would ease your suffering at the very least.”
That was an unnecessary slight. Her eyes snapped open and she glared into the coals of the fire, forcing that gnawing, hungry feeling to the back of her mind. “I refuse to let my father be right.”
The shadows were quiet for a long moment as they continued to watch her. “Your father?”
“Father.” She snorted, the sound growling and divisive. “The unfortunate seed from which I was born.”
There was another pause. “You seem to harbor some hostility towards your father.”
“That's a bit of an understatement.”
A soft hum escaped, as if the shadows fully understood the vitriol in those words. They spoke again, their question genuinely curious.  “What would your father be right about?”
“That the only good thing about my existence is ending it.” Raven's words were thick with hatred, and she closed her eyes against the dry heat of the fading coals. The emptiness in her stomach was fading as sleep started to claim her, curling in at the edges of her mind. “The fucker can rot in his grave for all I care. I'll survive just to prove he was wrong about me. I am not the curse he thinks I am.”
“Your determination is almost charming."
She snorted and turned her head into the bunch of clothes serving as a pillow. “I don't need my hallucinations patronizing me.”
“Don't make it so easy then.”
Raven gave a breathy laugh as the last bit of her energy faded, letting sleep pull her into its quiet embrace. “Mouthy bastard.”
The last thing she heard was a low, rumbling laugh.
-
He wished he could stay away from her.
He should have stayed away from her. Contact between gods and mortals never ended well. The union between his parents was case and point. And yet he had returned to the rotting cabin again looking for… her.
When Damian had visited her next, the deep, bone shattering cold of midwinter had returned, and the brief few days of wet icy warmth had disappeared. The cabin smelled of rot and stagnant water and… something else. His lip curled up in disgust, and Damian covered his nose against the scent.
The coals in the fire had died hours ago, and any light that would have come in from the outside was swallowed by a clouded, moonless sky. It was still and eerie, as though all life had been sucked out of the space, leaving a vacuum where something had once stood. Damian moved through the space, feeling around himself for echoes of her.
She must have left. Well, good. At least it would keep strangers off his land. A small feeling that seemed almost like sadness twisted in his chest, and Damian stepped onto the decayed floor. His toe hit what felt like a heavy bag, and he frowned. Dropping down to a low squat, he pressed his hand against…
Her ribs.
Damian dug around in his pockets until he found his cell phone, and flicked on the flashlight. Raven was laying sprawled out on the floor, her breathing shallow and coarse. The smell of sickness and death washed over her, staining her skin. His fingers slid down her side, feeling her ribs nearly poke through the thin fabric of her sweater.
When had she eaten last… and what was it?
He thought it was odd that was the first thought he had in his mind - a feeling of concern for someone he barely knew. His grandfather was not a benevolent god, and Damian wasn’t sure if he was too. His reign on earth was too short to understand who he really was. His lips twitched, and his fingers pushed back her ragged hair from her face, watching her eyes twist underneath the dark color of her eyelids. She wasn’t going to last more than a few more days, and that was only if she was lucky.
He groaned and rubbed a hand over his face. He shouldn’t do this. He really shouldn’t do this. Cursing under his breath, Damian lifted her slight frame into his arms and stepped out of the cabin into the cold night.
-
Raven was floating somewhere.
She wasn’t entirely sure where, but somewhere.
Gods, she would hate it if her father was right. She rolled onto her side, expecting to feel the hard cold dirt of the cabin floor, but instead felt soft sheets and an even softer mattress beneath her. She was surrounded by the scent of clean linen, and the room was pleasantly warm. If this was the afterlife, she could have done worse. A window on the far side of the room showcased sweeping views of a wild pine forest that seemed to stretch out for eternity, each tree turned silvery by the sliver of the moon in the sky.
“You’re awake.”
The voice spoke from the darkest shadows of the room, and try as she might, Raven couldn’t see into the darkness.
“Did you… save me?” She took a deep breath and let it out slowly. “Or am I dead?”
“No.” A soft snort was her response, followed by a heavy silence. “Those mushrooms you foraged were not meant for human consumption.”
“I knew… but I didn’t really have many options, did I?” Raven fell back against the luxurious pillows on the bed and gave a harsh laugh. “I didn’t even get a good trip, did I? No, just gastrointestinal distress and a one way ticket to the afterlife.”
She had known that those mushrooms were iffy at best, but she had been without food for nearly two weeks, and her options were limited. She took a chance and gambled, and she had lost. Running a hand over her face, Raven looked up at the ceiling, watching the moonlight flicker around the space, casting long, dark shadows.
“Sorry for any inconvenience I caused you.”
There was a long pause, and the only sounds in the room were a rustling of fabric and her ragged breaths.
“Stay until you feel well enough to travel.”
Raven blinked and looked towards the shadows again, and she got the impression that the person just shrugged.
“I have room enough for both of us.”
There was another pause. “You’re not going to break my legs and force me to stay and write novels, are you?”
“You’re free to come and go as you please, and I don’t know you well enough to gauge your writing ability.” The shadow moved toward the edge of the door, still shrouded from her observation. “You’re safe here, so take your rest while you can, and sleep.”
As if he had spoken magic, Raven felt her eyes grow heavy and she sunk deep into a dreamless sleep.
-
Damian stepped outside the room and closed the door, looking into the expectant eyes of his half-brother. Fuck. If anyone was going to gossip to Damian’s family about what Damian was doing, it would be Dick.
“Stay until you feel well enough to travel?”
Damian sighed and turned away from him, obviously annoyed. “Are you going to continue to tease me?”
“I’ve never seen you get so worked up over a human before.”
“That’s kindness that I was displaying, in case you didn’t realize.” He started down the hallway, and Dick followed, obviously amused.
“Yeah, I know. That’s what’s so confusing.” Dick glanced over at him with a grin. “I don’t think I’ve seen you act that way with anyone let alone, a human.”
“Father is human.”
“Barely.” Dick snorted. “Your mother thinks his blood is diluted to the point where he’s still got some kind of powers… whatever they are.”
Damian made a noncommittal noise. He’d expected there was some diluted blood in father’s lineage for a long while, but he chose not to mention it. They both fell into a companionable silence for a moment, until Damian could start to feel the tension of an unspoken question hanging in the air. Dick was trying not to say anything, but Damian knew he was about to burst by trying to keep quiet.
With a sigh and an annoyed click of his tongue, Damian stared over at him. “You're like a dog with a bone. Just ask whatever it is you want to ask already.”
“Why her?”
Damian tried to look unaffected by the question, but the truth was that he asked himself the same thing. By all accounts, Raven wasn't special. So, why was he affected by her? Why this disheveled, downtrodden human? Why this woman who slept in abandoned cabins and could carry her entire life in a backpack?
And yet… Damian had never felt this way about a human before. He liked her, but didn’t really have any reason why. With her sharp wit and even sharper tongue, she seemed to keep his ego in check. She was strong enough to keep going, in spite of everything the universe continued to throw at her. But those weren’t reasons to like her, just understand her.
“You look like you're fascinated by her.” Dick's voice held a note of amusement.
“Oh, shut up.” Damian snapped at his brother, his eyes dark. “You’re no better, with the girl you try to keep hidden in town. What was her name again? Kory? Runs the cafe and makes the absolute worst coffee I’ve ever tasted?”
Color stained Dick’s face and he glared. “How do you know?”
“It doesn’t take a genius to realize she’s a bubbling, glowing mess every time you’re in town.” Damian waved him off. “What you do with humans - or anyone else - is none of my business. Just like it’s none of your business what I do with strange women wandering on my land.”
“Fair.” Dick conceded the argument. “Fine. I won’t pry.” Damian snorted, as if he didn’t believe him. If there was anything he knew about his brother, it was that he would never be satisfied until he stuck his nose into everyone’s business.

The Prince and His Brave... Maid?
Trigger Warning: Violence and Blood
Here is the short story @satohqbanana 😊
Once upon a time in a land before our time. No, that’s dinosaurs. Again.
Once upon a time, in a kingdom far, far away, there was a young prince. He was the only son of the old royal couple. The whole kingdom rejoiced when they heard of the child’s birth. Finally, after years of trying, they finally had an heir.
As you can imagine, the boy grew up spoiled. He was allowed to do everything. He only had to look at his mother with his beautiful green eyes once, and every wish was granted. The only thing he never got was his father’s love. The king was convinced that his son should grow up to be a strong man, and strong men were not hugged. Strong men were not praised, because it was taken for granted that they did the right thing.
The prince therefore grew up very conflicted. Overwhelmed with love and suffocated by coldness. Then, on his eighteenth birthday, the queen became ill. The entire kingdom was devastated when she passed away a few days later.
She fell ill with a very rare disease. It was called, “I bet my left leg she was poisoned by the jealous lady-in-waiting, but no one believes me.” It was a terrible disease, very prevalent among the queens.
Be that as it may, the king mourned for a few days, forgot his son’s existence, and everyone lived in sorrow and misery.
Years passed and the prince grew up to be a handsome man. He had his quirks, such as a fear of showing weakness or terror of his own father, but otherwise he lived well. And he owed that only to his loyal maid. Me.
Humming and with an energetic swing in my walk, I walked down the long hallway of the royal palace. Destination: the prince’s room.
“Good morning, Mona,” called another servant girl as we passed each other at the same brisk pace. “Good morning,” I called back. I continued humming as another lady carrying a bucket and broom came out of one of the rooms. “The prince went to bed late last night, so be careful,” she called after me. I turned around with a grin and said: “Don’t worry about me, he’s more harmless than he looks.” She laughed and then went on with her work.
I stepped in front of the wooden door and took a deep breath. With a hairpin that I carried with me, I tied my brown curls into a bun and stepped inside.
The bedroom was spacious, which in my opinion was unnecessary for just one person. The large four-poster bed took up far too much space. The wardrobe took up an entire wall. What did he have a wardrobe for anyway? His clothes were all on the floor.
Two nightstands for one man? A waste of money and space.
I stepped over to the bed and ripped open the curtains. There he lay. The disappointment of the whole kingdom, or rather, the disappointment of his father.
His silky blanket had been pulled off him in his sleep, exposing his muscular back. The prince liked to sleep naked, so the blanket, which was only millimeters above his hips, was the only protection I had.
His dark skin shone in the shy sunshine. His right arm hung off the bed, near his clothes, which he had simply torn off yesterday. His jet-black hair was braided into many long braids, spread out on the soft pillows.
A few golden rings had been woven into it, a little royal tradition. With each new year of life, a new ring was added. Now there were twenty golden rings, but they were nothing compared to his father’s eighty-nine rings.
Don’t look at me like that, I told you that the royal couple had the prince in their senior years.
Anyway.
I went to the window and pulled open the curtains so that the beautiful sun could shine in.
“Good morning, Your Highness! Time to get up.”
Like every day, my words were followed by royal grunts and groans as the prince’s sleepy eyes finally opened. “Morning already?” he grumbled. “I don’t want to scare you, but… It happens every day. Every day starts with a morning.” I replied with a pointed smile.
His apple green eyes, the only thing he had inherited from the queen, looked into my dark ones.
“I see you still haven’t choked on your tongue.”
I gave a short laugh and turned to the window, opening it to let in some fresh air. The prince had managed to roll over on his back, with a groan, of course.
”Why are you wearing that stupid hairpin?” he suddenly asked.
”Because you gave it to me.”
“When I was drunk,” he grunted as he slowly sat up. I started picking up his clothes from the floor. “Oh yes, I remember.”
I started to pretend to sob as I mimicked the prince. ”Mona, you’re my only friend. You’re so nice to me. You have-” As red as a tomato, he leaped out of bed in an attempt to grab me.
“Shut up!”
Unfortunately, he tripped over the clothes I hadn’t picked up yet and fell to the ground butt naked.
Tears came to my eyes as I couldn’t stop laughing. “The royal moon is shining,” I managed to say through my laughter.
Before you accuse me of bullying the prince, I just wanted to make it clear that we are great friends. We went through thick and thin and would do anything for each other. Since my mother had also worked here as a maid and the queen wanted children of the same age around her son, we practically grew up together. He was the brother I never had, and I was the sister he never wanted.
Finally back on his feet, he swung his braids back and tried to hide the fact that he had gotten out of bed in a very unceremonious manner.
“So, what’s on the schedule today?” he asked, picking out a pair of pants from the pile on the floor. I shrugged. “I don’t know.” I knew exactly.
“Very funny. I know that my father has set up a schedule for me. That old fart does everything to...” My ears switched off, my bored gaze wandered to the window as he continued to rant about the king.
I got big eyes when I saw a young man in the courtyard of the palace who was just bringing a dark horse back to the stables. The boy was two years younger than us and had recently started working in the royal stables. He had tied his almost black strands of hair in a small bun. His equally dark cat-shaped eyes were gentle and tender as always as he looked at the horse. His porcelain-white skin stood out under his dark clothes.
“Florian, Florian, shut up,“ I said hastily to the prince, beckoning him over to me. Annoyed, he stepped to the window. “What is it?” he hissed. I pointed down. “Parsifal, there’s Parsifal.”
”What?!” The prince almost catapulted himself out the window to stare at the courtyard, where the stable boy was just walking around. A dreamy smile played around his lips, while his dark skin blushed slightly. You see, our dear prince preferred playing with swords to playing with shields.
Unfortunately, this was a fact that would further alienate the king from his son. That’s why no one knew about it except me. No one was allowed to know about his affection for the same sex. But this secrecy was not reason enough not to tease him a little.
“Shall we call him a good morning?” I asked. Florian turned to me in horror, as if I had just gone mad. “No! I’m not dressed, my hair still needs to be fixed. I haven’t even washed my fa-.” “Parsifal! Good morning!” I shouted down. The prince slapped me on the shoulder and the stable boy looked up.
“Good morning, Mona.“ His eyes then met the prince’s gaze and I recognized the same sparkle as in Florian’s eyes. “Your Highness. It’s a beautiful morning, isn’t it?” the boy asked enthusiastically. The prince cleared his throat. “Quite pleasant,” he said. I jabbed him in the side with my elbow.
”It became beautiful after I saw you.”
After these cheesy words from his mouth, all three of us stood rooted to the spot. Parsifal blushed, the prince blushed, and I had to stifle a laugh.
“Have a nice day!“ Florian shouted and slammed the window shut. We stood silently in his room. I heard the horse’s hooves, which meant that the stable boy had left, which in turn meant that I could now laugh out loud without any problems.
”‘It became beautiful after I saw you’? That was terrible,” I said, laughing. Florian grumbled and murmured as he got dressed. I’ve known about his affection for the stable boy for quite some time, but our prince is so clumsy when it comes to flirting that I doubt anything will ever happen between the two of them. “Instead of laughing, help me get dressed.” “Coming, your Highness.” Good old Mona had to take the reins.
The prince went about his royal duties, and I went about mine. It was my turn to scrub the floor today, but my duties as a friend called me. Grinning and quick of step, I approached the stables. If Florian couldn’t manage it, then I would inevitably have to do it. I greeted the other stable boys and set out in search of a particular stable boy who held the heart of my prince in his hands. The same stable boy who would probably be found slit open and bleeding to death on the banks of a river if he broke Florian’s heart.
And there he was.
“Parsifal! What a coincidence, running into you here.”
He looked up from the hay he was gathering and looked at me in confusion. “I work here...” With a small smile, I put my arm around his shoulders and pushed him down to my eye level. “Parsifal, Parsifal... just out of curiosity... are your nights cold?” I then raised an eyebrow, hoping he’d get the real question. But his pretty face contorted in confusion. “Not really, the blankets they distribute here are nice and warm.”
Damn. They’re both hopeless. Then I’ll have to work harder.
Still with him under my arm and probably with creeping back pain, I walked a few steps with him. “We are among friends, aren’t we?” I said to him. He nodded thoughtfully. “I think so...” “Good. Friends help each other, don’t they?” He stopped and looked at me with concern. “I have no idea what you’re getting at, Mona, but you’re scaring me.”
I held back from rolling my eyes and explained, “Don’t get all worked up, I’m not up to anything bad.” Now it was him who raised his eyebrow. ”You’re not up to anything bad? You only do bad stuff. You were the one who made Court Lady Marianne leave the court because you took her dog-» I put my hand in front of his mouth.
You don’t need to know that.
«I just wanted to know if you were interested in a blind date.» Parsifal’s lips pressed together as my words slowly sunk into his mind. He didn’t like the idea, which, believe me or don’t, was a good thing. “What’s the matter? Not interested?” I asked. His dark eyes flicked up briefly to the window of Florian’s bedroom.
Oh.
“I don’t know...” Perfect. “Now, now, Parsifal. Think of it as a little distraction. I can feel your heart aching.” He looked thoughtful, which was good, of course. I gave him a gentle shake. “Say yes, Parsifal. You won’t regret it.” He finally nodded, even if it was with a heavy heart.
I slapped him on the chest and stepped back slightly. “Tonight, after dusk, at the “Cat’s Eye”,” I said to him as I started to walk backwards. He nodded with a forced smile. “If you don’t show up, I’ll make sure you end up with Lady Marianne’s dog.” He turned pale and nodded vigorously. Satisfied, I turned away and went about my work.
Don’t look at me like that, I won’t tell you anything. That was between Lady Marianne and me, it’s none of your business.
Humming and singing, I wiped the long hallway that connected the royal family’s rooms. Well, it wasn’t a family anymore, more of a royal duo. Be that as it may, I felt great because I could, maybe, give my only friend a chance at love. He deserved it after all his father had done to him. When I thought about it, wouldn’t it be easier to overthrow the king? I mean, it wouldn’t be my first-
“Mona!”
I looked up and saw a raging prince. In a matter of seconds, I went through my entire day, wondering if I had done something to deserve this royal anger. I couldn’t find anything, so a smile grew on my lips as I held out my hand in greeting.
“Hello, Your High-” The word was replaced by a squeak as Florian grabbed my outstretched hand to pull me along. The broom fell and I stumbled after him like a fawn that had just started walking. He took me to his room, where he loudly closed the door behind us, and then groaned loudly. I opened my mouth, but Florian let out a loud, hateful scream. I froze and pressed my lips together.
“I hate him! That old, wrinkled excuse of a father!” he continued to yell. He grabbed a pillow and screamed into it. This time it was bad, worse than usual. Unfortunately, there was nothing I could do except wait for a sign that he wanted me to be involved in this outburst, which, to my surprise, came quickly.
He dropped the pillow and turned to me with large, manic eyes. “I’m going to kill him...” I grimaced and tilted my head slightly back and forth. “Unfortunately, that doesn’t fit into your schedule.”
He ignored my words and started pacing the room. “I’ll sneak into his room tonight and suffocate him.” He looked up and pointed at me. “And you’ll keep watch,” I grimaced but didn’t say anything. “Right! We’ll sneak in and I’ll suffocate him with his own stupid braids. Or I’ll beat him to death with his walking stick.”
He mumbled to himself and paced back and forth. This time he was serious, but unfortunately I had to admit that his plan was terrible. He had to memorize the times of the guards, he had to have a plan B ready, an escape route had to be in place as well. Don’t even get me started on the blood. It’s so hard to get out of clothes.
“Mona?”
“Yes?”
“Am I a bad son?”
I smiled a little as I looked at the desperate expression. “You do realize you’re asking me this after you planned his death, right?” I tried to joke, but he groaned and dropped face first onto the bed.
I stepped up to him, my hand caressing his broad back. “You’re a frustrated and neglected son, which makes you do bad things, but you’re not bad.”
He removed his face from the blanket and looked up at me. “You’re just saying that because you want to kiss my ass.” I had to smirk. Florian’s way of saying thank you had always been something that amused me.
“Of course, why else?” I countered. He laughed and rolled over onto his back. The room fell silent until he finally came out with the problem.
“He wants me to get engaged... to some chick.”
“And you don’t like chicks.”
“Exactly...”
Silence. This room suddenly felt so small. I stared out, up at the bright sun. Florian rolled onto his side, clasped my hip and pressed himself against me. Not a word was spoken as I ran my hand up and down his back. Another problem for me to deal with. But first there was something else I had to take care of.
“Tell me, do you feel like forgetting everything and having some fun tonight?“ I asked him, but only got a grunt in response. “You’ll have a good time, I promise.”
”I don’t care. I just want to stay in my room and wallow in self-pity...” ”I got you a date with Parsifal.”
He sat up abruptly and looked at me with wide-open eyes. He didn’t believe me, I could see that very well from his horrified yet delighted expression. “You-What? Wait... seriously?” Nodding, I stood up and went over to his closet. “I asked him. I didn’t mention who he’ll be going out with, though,” I explained, taking out his best clothes. “He... he has no idea that he’s going to meet me?“ he asked, puzzled.
”Of course he doesn’t. Do you think he would have said yes if he knew he was meeting the prince? You know him as well as I do. The boy has some self-esteem issues.” I turned back to him, smiling, and threw his clothes on the bed.
“But tonight you’ll be able to show him that you’re a great catch.“ Pleased with myself, I put my hands on my hips and expected words of delight, if not applause, but all I got was his smile slowly fading away and being replaced by a sad expression.
”It won’t work... My father.”
Sighing, I stepped in front of him. He was worried about an old bag who, when he was little, liked to hit him with his walking stick because he had missed sword training. He wasted his thoughts on a pathetic old man who would achieve much more under the ground.
“Your father won’t interfere, I promise. I’ll make sure he doesn’t notice.”
Florian’s face showed me that he didn’t believe my words. “He has guards everywhere, and now that he’s desperate to get me engaged, he’ll certainly not let me out of his sight.”
He could be right about that, but I wouldn’t let it happen. I took his face in my hands and said softly, ”I’ll take care of everything. You go on that date and spend time with that boy you’ve been making eyes at since he started here. Got it?”
He swallowed hard and nodded. “Okay... if you say so.”
I kissed his forehead contentedly and said, “Good boy.” Chuckling slightly, he asked me, ”Say, are you mothering me?”
“No, I’m protecting you.”
Evening came and after I had managed to get the prince out of the castle safely so that he could have a nice date, I prepared for my second plan. Humming, I strode through the long, dark hallway. The guards knew me and barely flinched as I brushed past them. I loved it when the castle was shrouded in darkness. Darkness, blackness, silence. That was how I liked it best.
Finally, I saw the door I wanted, but of course there were two guards in front of it. With a slight turn of my head, I realized that there were no others nearby. Smirking, I stepped in front of them. I didn’t have the time or the inclination to memorize what they looked like, because I was pressed for time. I had to get everything done before Florian came back.
“Gentlemen.”
They looked down at me, confused and curious at the same time. They were both taller than me and wrapped in armor. Stupid metallic stuff, I never liked it. It was so loud and clattered with every movement.
“Can we help you?“
One of the knights asked me. His face was almost unrecognizable. The light was dim, as was my interest. But interest was not something that mattered here. My gaze wandered back and forth as I had to make a choice. The knight grew impatient and didn’t take my calmness well.
”Miss, if you have something to...”
A quick twisting hand movement and the loud sound of breaking bones echoed through the dark hallway as the knight crashed to the ground with his head twisted. “I don’t need you,” I said, humming, and turned to the other one, whose mouth hung open. He pulled himself out of his panic when our eyes met. “Don’t move, witch!” he shouted.
I rolled my eyes. Always the same with these humans. With a swift movement, I leaped forward and pushed him against the wall. The clatter of the fallen sword suppressed his pleas as I slowly dozed him off with a gentle hand movement. I then lowered him and looked at my work.
The knight with the broken neck was now useless, so the other had to be taken. I closed my eyes, took a deep breath and slipped with ease into the knight’s lifeless body.
When I opened my eyes, I stumbled slightly as I had to get used to the weight of the armor. I shook my body, got to know the muscles by stretching my arms slightly and then smiled contentedly.
I stepped over the body and opened the wooden door.
There he lay, Florian’s personal hell. The king himself. When I saw him sleeping like this, his thick braids circling his wrinkled face, all the memories came back. All the times Florian had cried himself to sleep, all the times he came to me with bleeding calves after a failed sword training session because not even his mother wanted to take care of him.
Getting rid of the mother was a breeze. A little poison, a jealous and impressionable court lady, and the matter was settled.
I was more indulgent with Lady Marianne. I only wanted to warn her after she dared to insult Florian’s skin color. "It would stain the pure green of his eyes" she said. I forced her to eat her dog. Not my best work, as some saw me when I took the dog, but it was worth it. The stupid bitch hardly dared to open her mouth again as she left the court.
Well, I was now standing there planning my revenge when he slowly opened his eyes. Oh, that’s also a way.
I was standing at his feet when he slowly managed to sit up. The moon shone in and illuminated the body of the knight I had borrowed.
“What? How dare you enter your king’s chamber?” he spat at me, irritated. My whole body shuddered just at the thought that I would be allowed to watch as life drained from him once I was done with him.
“Speak,“ he said louder.
Those dark eyes regarded me with suspicion. His thick beard, which adorned his round and wrinkled face, trembled as I drew closer. His fat body could hardly hold him upright as he tried to get out of bed.
”Your Majesty, I have come to deliver an important message.”
He was confused, but I didn’t give him time to think. I swung the sword with all my might. His scream echoed through the entire castle, followed by the impact of his severed arm, which now stained the marble floor with its dirty blood. The king fell to the ground, clutching the stump where his arm had been.
“You used your arm to beat Florian,“ I explained to the sobbing and whimpering wreck. With the strength of my current body, I kicked him in the leg and chuckled at the sound of breaking bones.
”With these legs, you hunted him when you had nothing else to vent your anger.”
He could hardly scream, and I had already turned him on his back. I took the sword, pressed it between his teeth and pushed it down until I could see the tearing of his cheeks.
“And with this mouth, you destroyed his dream of love.”
He gargled as the blood flowed down his throat. The once elegant king now lay beneath me, trying to pull himself away with an arm like the worm he was.
“I’m not done yet, I’ll save the best for last.“ I made myself comfortable on his chest while he whimpered and cried and prayed to some god.
”Stop it, your deity won’t hear you. Your prayers are worth as much as the dirt under my shoes.”
Ah. There it was, that look. The fading hope, the emerging sorrow. I loved it. But as promised, the best was yet to come at the end of the show. My hand stroked over his raging chest. I felt the slow beating of his heart, but unfortunately I wanted it to be pulsating.
I stabbed into it, my hand breaking through skin, muscle and rib. The warm embrace of his flesh made me feel at home. I grabbed the heart and tore it out. The body twitched one last time and then the king was gone. Whatever, everyone has their time and at eighty-nine, he was overdue.
The heart pounded in my hand, which was doused with fresh, warm blood. I stood up and stepped away from the corpse. God, it felt good to do good.
I tilted my head back, opened my mouth wide and swallowed the heart in one bite. I had had better ones, but this was good enough. My eyes closed again and like a breath of wind I slipped out of the knight’s body, which fell to the ground loudly. Now I had to set up the scene.
The knight, tired of suffering under the king’s tyranny, killed his comrade, who would otherwise have gotten in his way, and broke into the ruler’s chamber. There he was seized by so much rage that he fell into a frenzy. Like an animal, he attacked his king and even ate his heart.
Good heavens, what a monster.
I stroked the knight’s mouth with my blood-covered hand to make it more credible. Then I took the sword and cut the knight’s throat.
Horrified by his actions, the poor boy then fell over himself.
What a sad story, I almost cried.
I slipped out, took a few steps away from the body outside the room and cleared my throat slightly. The muscles were slightly relaxed before I pinched my cheeks to make tears roll. Everything was perfect, the only thing missing was a witness. And that’s where I came in.
Take a deep breath.
Then, I started screaming.
The whole kingdom was in turmoil. In one night, two people had passed away. Our king and a poor knight who had only tried to do justice. My poor Florian was devastated. His hatred for his father left him cold about his death, but something in him felt obliged to grieve.
His head on my lap, while my hand gently stroked his shoulder. Not a word had been exchanged since the news had reached him. I could only be a support, a shoulder, an ear.
There was a knock at the door. Florian whispered with a trembling voice: “I don’t want to see anyone.” Slowly I got up to pass on the message. On the other side of the door stood a certain stable boy who shyly asked: “May I...”
I let him in.
He approached Florian, who straightened up to look up at Parsifal. They spoke to each other with their eyes. They understood each other, they felt each other. Without saying a word, Florian wrapped his arms around Parsifal’s hips. He pulled him close and cuddled his face in his stomach.
I stepped out slowly. My heart blossomed with happiness and contentment. My prince had found his love; the kingdom had lost its king, but gained one with a big heart. Florian would become a great ruler and with me and Parsifal at his side, this kingdom would turn a new leaf.
It felt good to do good.
