so first of all - i'm so sorry you had to wait that long to get this answered! have a scar doodle as an apology.

second of all - let's begin! (click for more)

buttercups band au is set in a modern world (which means everyone is human) and focuses on the buttercups trio (scar, grian, mumbo) who are in a band together. they are rivals with another neighbouring band - a duo under the name of the perimeter, consisting of ren and doc. the rivalry is mostly friendly, the members of both bands know each other well and don't have any kind of actual discord between them. while the buttercups' music falls under the indie/indie folk label, the perimeter specialize in punk rock.

the buttercups live together with jellie (a cat that scar one day just brought home refusing to explain where did she come from) and sniffer (a large fluffy dog, who scar also brought home one day, but this time explaining that he'd found him on the street). both pets are loved by the fans and their friends, but by a twist of fate, doc happens to be allergic to dogs.

who is who:

mumbo - the buttercups' singer-songwriter and guitarist, though he mostly prefers to play an ukulele. super socially awkward when off stage and a certified funky glasses lover. enjoys plants a lot and often wears flower crowns and flower-themed hawaiian shirts.

grian - the buttercups' drummer. since one of the fans told him that a long expo photo of him playing looks like an angel, his theme became wings. never gets on stage without a pair of kinda-cringey fake wings on a headband.

scar - the buttercups' rythmic guitarist and/or a keytar player, sometimes doubling as a backup vocalist. in charge of the band's instagram account after he'd taken it over from grian. certainly a fan favourite, his email getting flooded with cat pictures that he asks for online.

doc - a drummer and guitarist of the perimeter. he bleaches his hair (though never the whole thing) and is a certified mesh shirt lover. a big fan of crossdressing who would certainly become a fashion icon if he cared just a little bit more.

ren - the perimeter's guitarist and vocalist. never seen on stage without his definetly-cringey wolf ears headband and an immortal red flannel shirt, which at this point might be more patches than original fabric. very open to fans, providing the perimeter a loving fan community.

less important characters:

martyn - an independent music creator under the name of littlewood monster (which is a bow towards another au of mine), known for his collabs with the perimeter duo.

I want to write but today is edibles days so I'm just going to type out some thoughts about Terzo in light of some headcanons / Canon info I have consumed recently. Putting it under a cut bc it might be long

So, this is mostly from reading about Terzo "hating every body, but especially himself" and just. The idea that he grew up thinking he was no one's favorite (even if he did have a very loving mother) because, even in a place like the clergy, he is still, somehow, a black sheep.

Personally, I think he's gay, which is not a BAD thing in the clergy, but I can see it making a lot of women frustrated with him. That was just a little bit less attention he got. Epecially because his older half brothers are major heartthrobs.

Growing up, it just feels like Primo and Secondo have more succes than him. They're more like their father, after all, and being liked by Nihil helps protect them from Sister Imperator's jealousy (until she can get Copia in their place). But Terzo? Nihil didn't think he had what it takes to be Papa.

I saw another person contemplating Terzo being very into punk and goth music/culture, and of course the the clergy is all about being counter culture- but not like THAT. His mother loved it, of course, and not everyone was disapproving of him, but enough people with more authority than him we disappointed. The Emerituses are supposed to be CLASSY, or something like that.

I think his brothers weren't as disappointed with him at least, but they were a little bit in that sort of "older sibling" way, if that makes sense. They had moments of fighting and then getting along later like most siblings. Of course, that doesn't extend to Copia- I personally think Copia was introduced as an orphan who just happened to be Sister Imperator's favorite, star pupil, etc. etc. Growing up there were rumors that he might be her son, that he might be Nihil's son, but no one dared talk too loudly about it. Terzo and his brothers probably didn't think Copia was their brother, or if they did they didn't care to try and include him. Still, Sister Imperator's favoritism for Copia made Terzo even MORE upset. Copia did try to be friendly with him, but Terzo was very cold to him.

I also like to think about how Omega has been around for a very long time in the Clergy. He definetly saw Terzo grow up, in a way. (NOT like, from childhood, but maybe teenage/early adulthood?) And he always took a liking to him. Terzo's mother & omega were probably his biggest hype squad, but they weren't enough to keep him from getting depressed and jaded. It also probably took Terzo a long time to actually believe that Omega was being genuine with him. I think it'd be sweet if it finally hit Terzo that Omega REALLY liked him when he became Papa. Omega was so happy for him and excited to work with him, and Terzo had his "oh." moment.

Speaking of becoming Papa, we can all agree that he just oozed charm and charisma when he got on stage. It feels very contradictory to everything I've said up until this point, right? But I think that it was kind of like, a sudden boost to his, well, EVERYTHING when he became Papa. A sort of, "fuck you" to everyone who doubted him. Who cares if his father and Sister Imperator aren't super enthused about him being Papa? He's made it there.

Sure, that doesn't FIX him. But being on stage hypes his ego up so much, and being up there with Omega helps too, it kinda gives him that "fake it till you make it" energy. And for a time he was really making it.

But then Copia became Cardinal. And as much as Nihil didn't like him being Papa either, it wasn't hard for Sister Imperator to convince him.

And, well, you know how it goes from there.

Anyways, I'm going to project onto him now and say he was definitely bipolar and definitely never medicated. This made it hard for him to consistently believe that the people in his life that DID care about him were being genuine, he'd have long weeks of being depressed and apathetic. But being on stage, the center of attention, that's a mania trigger babeyyy

"hello hehe i feel like im sitting in a chair and someone just gave me a mike or something. ok but: also a Lower Decks themed confession.

I think Mariner is kind of annoying. Going against a flawed system and being little punk is fine. but she is SO BAD at working in a team.

Her whole cycle is: acting immaturely -> sabotaging herself -> fucking up -> saving the day (partly bc shes skillful, but theres also a whole bunch of luck involved).

She cant be lucky all this time. i kinda wanna see her fail at least once. Also the way she makes everything about herself and her issues... ok we KNOW she's the most complex character, but i find her the least interesting. She does the same thing all the time and never progresses as a character

ON THE OTHER HAND THOUGH: i kinda do like how she fucks up in the same way every time. bc that just realistic. as a person who has been stuck in life from time to time i appreciate that. if you have personal/mental problems which disable you in some kind of way it WILL be the same shit every fucking time. you do the same mistakes every time and its really frustrating. kinda how its frustrating to watch Mariner do yet another high stakes action without informing her team and endangering everyone (like PLEASE just communicate).

I do perfere watching the engineering/science nerds though <3 my friends my babies <3. And the end of season 4 gave Mariner a glimbse of character development so i'm hopeful.

Random LWA headcanons

Croix listens to rock music (mainly grunge, metal, alt rock, punk rock). Her Favorite band is Korn.

Remember Marjolaine (that rockstar in the samhain episode)? Croix and Chariot are/were definetly friends with her. Or at the very least acquaintances (Btw its were Croix got her music taste from).

Chariot doesn't really listen to rock but will ocassionally listen to it with Croix. She's into 80's-90's pop music.

Chariot wrote some plays back in her days where she performed. She ocassionally changes them and shows them to Akko.

Akko can eat anything sour with no reaction. I don't think I need to explain this one.

Amanda will mock Chariot and Croix in a friendly manner. She has a good relationship with Professor Nelson after season 2 but still hates Finnelan.

Amanda once told Finnelan to kiss her ass... Croix was involved before, during and after.

Amanda blasts classical music out loud to annoy Diana. Diana blasts country music out loud to annoy Amanda. The rest of the new Nine watch this in confusion.

Akko asked Chariot to not be a mother figure to Diana because they're dating and it would be weird. Chariot purposefully "ignores" Akko.

Diana got EXTREMELY emotionally attached to Croix and Chariot after season 2 due to them showing her motherly affection she hadn't received in so long.

Croix and Chariot are both trans women. They'll help each other with their daily shots and are openly supportive to transgender/genderqueer people.

Chariot has ADHD and Croix has ASD. They both helped Akko to recognize her symptoms and get diagnosed with ADHD.

The new nine always hang out with eachother on the weekends. Croix, Akko, and Amanda love prank calling people, even if they're in the same room as them. Chariot, Diana, and Lotte drink tea together. Sucy and Constanze play videogames.

Croix and Constanze love to fix things together. Sometimes they even fix things for the school.

Hey I don't mean to be rude because I really would love to hear on why you defend Marilyn Manson, but siting an instagram page may not be the best type of proof. The best thing to do is to find articles from websites that don't use .com (this means they payed to be a website and are more likely to be biased) You can definetly fins information defending Marilyn even though it may be harder

Also it's not just ERW who has reported abuse from him, their have been over 20+ underage/barely legal girls that have reported being abused, raped, and exploited by him. About 5% of rape accusations are proven false meaning at least one of those has to be true

The claims of him being racist are from sevral different things. some of them being Charlyne Yi accusing him of calling them a "China man" (along with him harrasing every female on the set of House), having several tattoos of nazi imagery, and him using the N-word frequently. Even though he may has made some statments about being anti-racist that doesn't mean we should forget all the racist and antisematic things he has done and hasn't directly apologized for.

first off, around January 2022, Howard King, who is Manson's lawyer, filed a lawsuit about a fake FBI letter forged by Illma Gore, Evan Rachel Wood's partner, and before that lawsuit was even filed, there was one young woman named Greta Aurora who had a one night stand with Manson, and she said that Illma tried to recruit her (mind you, Illma Gore recruited other 15 or 20 women to say "Manson did/said x/y/z to me"). Once Greta Aurora said no to Illma, she was labeled as "a vulnerable, underage girl" in a lawsuit created by one of the women in ERW and Gore's group.

about Manson being racist, I'm not sure about Charlyne Yi's situation but I think sometimes celebrities like Yi can be messed up enough to accuse one of calling them "China man".

the nazi imagery accusation is quite to debunk. sometimes, leftists, especially, anti-authoritarian leftists around the 1970s to the early 2000s would put up authoritarian imagery like the swastika or wear fascist-inspired costumes (Laibach, a left-wing industrial band is a PERFECT example) as a way to compare liberal governments and authoritarian socialist governments like the British monarchy or the United States government to fascism. that alone can make a LOT of people (liberals, conservatives, etc.) very uncomfortable. in my opinion, it's sad that the modern left doesn't have the guts to do that anymore and focuses on a more positive art form where everything is all sunshine and puppies and "uwu you are valid".

with Manson using the N-word in his songs, he was obviously inspired by musicians like Patti Smith, who at the time, was a punk rocker in the 1970s. and like wearing fascist-inspired costumes, using the N-word can make people uncomfortable. but yeah, punk rock songs like that, despite using the N-word, is actually about standing up to yourself and being unique to anyone else.

why I support Manson is that around 2021, the year when he was accused of those allegations, I identified myself as a Marxist but other leftists who aligned themselves with Marxism and general socialism happened to support ERW. however, Manson's philosophy was more aligned with Nietzsche, and Nietzsche's idea of the Ubermensch came from Max Stirner's Einzige. So, I read Max Stirner's book, The Unique and Its Property, and I more align myself with Manson and Howard King instead of most leftists.

Classical piano music was the first genre that came to mind. He likes how elegant it sounds, and he would probably get some sort of superiority complex for liking it.

For the exact same reason, he definetly likes Jazz. He would most likely avoid music he finds fake or electronic. The sounds of saxophones and pianos are literally and metaphorically music to his ears.

I don't want to sound repetitive but I really do think Alcott would like classical music, too. She would play some on vinyl as soft background music while she strategizes for the guild, preferring instrumental music as it's less distracting than music with lyrics.

She seems like she would enjoy the softness of folk music, matching her timid personality we often see in the show/manga. There's something, to me at least, that makes folk music seem more hollow than pop or rock. That's definitely something I can see her enjoying when it comes to music.

On a different note, her softer side of that desire would probably be the reason she would enjoy indie music. She likes the softer vibe that contrast her strong emotions, but put those feelings into words as well.

I think these two are pretty connected to Edgar Allan Poe's real world writing and the aesthetic of the bsd Poe. I think he would like romantic Goth music, songs that go into detail on emotion. He also really enjoys the unique style of instrumentals, lyricism is probably the most important thing in a gothic song to him, though.

However, I think he would enjoy horrorcore, too. This one is specifically because of his writings (real world), and also his seven-year obsession with killing Ranpo. On the contrary to softer goth music, I think he wouldn't mind horrorcore rap/hip-hop. (?) He would like the intensity and boldness of the lyrics.

So anyways. I see Marlene as a tomboy. She looks girly at first glance maybe. She is rough, loud, and always has a grin on her face. She definetly gets in trouble. I don't think she was always like that though. I think for a long time she was shy and hid herself bc she was always told she wasn't ladylike and she was excluded from both girls and boys. The girls thought her too rough and the boys thought her too soft. I think for the first year or two at Hogwarts she blends into the background but then she owns up to her true self and she lets go. She wears leather jackets, skirts, punk/rock/band tees etc, she wears chipped nail polish, her hair isn't straightened anymore she lets herself be loud she lets herself be rough around the edges. Am I slightly projecting? That's a possibility.

Train story - there are about 1000 tellings of this story but this is I think the best rendition - not least because it includes Gen and also the crucial and delightful detail that she was high during this whole event. TLDR: That time Jared "stopped all the trains in Europe" because Gen's baggage was left on a platform in Amsterdam.

Eating raw ribs - again there are a couple of different tellings of this but this is a solid on that has been gifed. TLDR: Jared came back hungry late at night when him and Jensen lived together and SOMEHOW accidentally ate raw meat! And was subsequently incredibly sick (as one might imagine!).

Stapled jeans - clip talking about Jared's (lack of) style more generally - story about the jeans is a couple of minutes in (but watch it all if you haven't a true DELIGHT). TLDR: Jared had a pair of jeans he loved SO much he started stapling them back together when they ripped up the back, and he kept them like this for years (including they can be spotted on red carpets!) Gen (and probably Jensen) eventually made them "disappear".

Thinking he was dead and should call set to let them know - by far the best version of this story (also well worth watching the video feat. tiny Jared and his lil Texas accent). TLDR: Jared was filming Flight of the Pheonix in Africa, he flipped the car he was driving over, ran out of the car because he thought it might explode. Then when it didn't and he couldn't hear any birds or sounds, he decided he MUST be dead. And then immediately thought that he needed to call set to let them know he was dead. (beloved himbo).

Fear of bears - many references to Jared's bear fear but this is particularly funny. Also in case you were wondering - there are some bears he's ok with ;) TLDR: he's scared of bears that's about it haha.

Took ballet in high school - talking about taking ballet here. TLDR: Jared took ballet whilst doing theatre at school because his theatre teacher thought it would help kids feel more comfortable with their bodies (v sweet actually).

Asking Eddie Vedder for his cigarette - Quite a few different versions of this story - older ones said that it was Eddie's drink but I'm inclined to believe the most recent cigarette versions - here's a good one. TLDR: J2 met Eddie Vedder (lead singer of Pearl Jam - Jared's fave band) at a party. A slightly drunk and every starstruck Jared asked for a drag of Eddie's cigarette. Jensen very quickly dragged him out of there lmao.

Owns 7 of the same black shirt and black trousers - talking about this here (also socks with holes in). TLDR: idk I think this one is kinda self explanatory lol.

National Forensics League winner - here is him doing the Duo Interpretation that he won - and here is him and his partner winning - also BONUS Jared coming back as a judge in 2019 and giving this adorable flustered little speech featuring Jared vs podium heights and Jared vs microphones. TLDR: National Forensics League is a speech and debate competition - Jared and his acting partner won the category of Du Interpretation in 1998 when Jared was 16. They had to perform an acting scene together where they were not allow to directly look at or interact with each other. Definetly recommend watching the performance its really good!

    I discovered Rinas frankly amazing debut ep all the way back in 2018 and since then she has failed to disappoint. The queen of pop we all deserve.

Sobs - Air Guitar

    Cutesy dream pop that feels like resting on a cloud whilst watching some cheesy 00s romcom.  I listened to it on repeat for a week when I discovered this.

Puppet - New York Family

    I am in Puppets top 1% of listeners on spotify because it is perfect stim music to me. Genuinely amazing mix of rock and edm that sounds like it shouldn’t work but it does for me. Autism!

Javiera Mena - Nocturna

    The queen of Chilean synthpop returns with another absolute banger of an album. Reminiscent of her more 2nd album Mena (2010) it leans heavily back into dance music. Great for having a one person disco in your own room.

Jessica had been with the deadlock gang for who knows how long, most of her life definitely. Her parents were gone and this terrible gang was the closest thing she had to family, they did keep her alive after all. She trafficked weapons with them across the globe.

Now she was 17, the gang and her set off for an operation. It seemed to be going great and they were almost finished when some strange team in blue interrupted. What happened was so fast and last thing she knows her team was hauled off in law enforcement vans. Why wasn’t she leaving with them? Soon realizing she was in weakly lit room and handcuffed. Oh she knew what was coming, Torture. 

She had her eyes squinting to prepare for it, then realized wait she was getting a choice? Rot in jail forever or join Overwatch? She stayed confused for awhile. The troubled punk child has short spikey hair, mostly covered with her hat and some punk clothes with a red bandanna around her neck. She needed to make a choice..
