Like, why aren't more people talking about this teaser?

LIKE? This is so clearly TLKOF Ty talking to Dru (not Livvy, because she disappears in TLKOF, convince me otherwise) about Kit! Presumably this is towards the end of TLKOF where both Dru's and Ty's romantic lives and the world in general are in chaos. And this is just a sweet, heart-breaking sibling moment between them where they talk about how everything is messed up and how the people they'd loved had broken their hearts. Since they were away from each other, it would be news to Dru that Ty was in love with Kit, and it would be news to Ty that Dru had given her heart to someone Ty had barely heard of.

Like, just imagine THAT conversation. I'm interested in their dynamic so much because Dru and Ty are going to make a different sibling pair than what we're used to. They weren't close enough to fully understand each other when they were younger. Ty always seemed like the cool older brother to Dru, what with him being so smart and knowing so much about so many things. Dru, on the other hand, was the gothic younger sister, with an inexplicable love for vintage horror and a criminal edge that impressed Kit Herondale, who basically had crime etched in his DNA. But they always protected each other. Like, it was given.

And when I think about all that and try to imagine their special moments, I just can't anymore. *cries inconsolably*

so i’ve been looking at the TWP/TBVOTD teasers and i’m pretty sure teaser 7 and 10 are about Kit and Ty

this can be taken from eithers perspective but i think it’s Ty that’s thinks this because Kit is the one mad at him for what happened w Livvy and everything and Cassie said that Kit was still mad at Ty after three years which would make sense for Ty to think Kit hates him and say this to either Dru or Livvy but i’m pretty sure it’s Livvy cuz she knows everything abt Kit and Ty’s situationship

teaser 10: "No one who loved you would want you to sacrifice your own happiness."

this one i’m not so sure that it’s Kit and Ty but if it is it might Ty to Kit cuz Kit was thinks he’s unloveable and that maybe he doesn’t deserve happiness OR maybe it could be Ty to Livvy, as in her saying she’s not happy as a ghost but doesn’t want to leave Ty which provokes him to say that but like i said it might not be KitTy and it could really be anyone but i think the words would be something someone would say to Kit

Teaser: “Magnus, talk to me…” he yells again in desperation, “Magnus!”

The warlock jerks back as if slapped. He finally lifts his head a little with effort, and squints at Alec’s direction before his eyes go wide in alarm.

“Alexander!” His lips move, letting out a soft, barely audible sound. As focused as he is on the warlock with his entire being, Alec hears it as clearly as a church bell ringing inside his mind. He crawls towards the warlock to get as close as he can, and stops when his knee is almost brushing against the flaming lines of the circle around the intricate sigil.

“Magnus, why?” His words are quiet this time, and Alec knows Magnus can hear him anyway, judging by the way his expression crumples. “Why would you do this?”

“Why are you here?” The stubborn man decides to answer the questions with his own, “How are you here?”

“I’m here because you’re here,” Alec spits angrily, his fear for the warlock waging war with the fury at the unfairness of all of it. His entire body is shaking with emotion, ready to fall apart and his soul is on the brink of shattering along with the one whom he had given it all to without reservation. 

Or perhaps, it might be the ghost of Edom gleefully feeding on the pain of his heartbreak and misery. 

“You thought you'd go down in flames all by yourself? That’s not going to happen this time. Remember I promised you, Magnus? Never again!”

“And I made a promise to protect you above all else!” Magnus roars at him in response, wasting the precious little life he has left.

TLKOF CHAPTER 1 SPOILERS

Okay wanted to share my thoughts about the chapter!!! Should be noted; will be lots of spoilers

1. Throughly enjoyed Dru’s point of view!! She is so funny!! Cannot wait to see the progression of her plot throughout the novel :D

2. Honestly kind of disliked how overly fast paced it was. It felt like each page led to something different like automatically. It’s obvious a rough draft and she has more than a year to change it up and add more or less, but to me it definitely felt like a draft. (SHOULD NOTE: I DO NOT SAY THIS WITH MALICIOUS OR ILL INTENT. There is nothing wrong with a draft feeling like a draft!!! )

3. DRU BEING 5’3 😭😭 tall blackthorn headcanon destroyed, dead in a DITCH. Sorry Dru you’ll always be 5’7 to me. Also her randomly sayinf she was 5’3 was funny, it wasn’t bad writing or anything, have to preface that, I just thought it was funny!! Welcome back Clary Fairchild!

4. ASHHHHHHH he was so funny. When he told Dru that he was pretty memorable and she was like “idk u” I know he cried himself to sleep after that.

5. THAIS CRUMBSSS. She sounds so pretty! I’m in love. Also we know that she’s competitive 👀👀 I’m liking this cutie already. Her and Kit can have a freckle off <3

6. Thought the ending of this chapter kind of… random? Idk. Again I think that ties into the fact that I thought this chapter went toooo fast. But I also think it’s smart to end the teaser chapter with a kind of cliffhanger!

7. I also kind of liked how the shadowhunter academy ‘gang’ in this book had a same feeling as the TFTSA gang kind of did. It’s obvious a stretchy comparison to make because we haven’t seen much on this academy, but I really did enjoy that. It really does feel like a school!!! If this makes any sense hahaha

Anyways, I was a bit worried about this chapter and i obviously have some criticism (as I always do) but so far I enjoyed it!! I was a bit worried but it seems like fun, I really enjoyed the fact the first chapter included intriguing plot points that make you want to continue reading the novel. I think a lot of this stuff sets up really good stuff for TLKOF sooo I’m excited to see it all expanded !!!

If only they had walked a mile in my shoes (desperately refreshing cassandra clare’s website in 2014 waiting for shadowhunter academy teasers to be released because you were desperate for simon and isabelle to finally get their happy ending) and also the show had fucking bothered to give isabelle any kind of consistent characterisation at all . TWP and BBoTD Teasers

So, I went through the 13 teasers that we have of TWP and BBoTD for the 13 millionth time and I have some questions regarding some of the snippets and I know that I won't get answers just yet, so I'm looking for imagination.

Teaser 2: He kissed each finger, and with each one of them spoken a word. Five kisses, five words. His last.

Now, I'm clueless. Clearly this is someone important who dies and it's a he. Ideas, anyone? I wish my brain was hardwired for more optimism.

I know, I know, kinda obvious that this is Ty talking about Kit, but I'm just curious. We see in Ghosts of Shadow Market that Ty avoids talking about Kit, even to Livvy, who he literally performed necromancy for! Does he think about Kit a lot or does he involuntarily do it anyway even if he doesn't want to? Clearly something more than what had happened in QoAaD is up which finally got Ty to talk about it. Comment your thoughts!

Teaser 1: Marry me today.

I feel like the most questions about all the teasers are about this one. There is literally nothing to go on, unlike the other 2 where we at least have something. It's like, we're so clueless our imagination stops working at the sheer amount of possibilities, and when we try to write them down they seem like nonsense. Don't worry though, I'm up for nonsense.

so i’m pretty sure that it’s DruAsh because Kit already confessed to Ty and if Ty were to hide that he loves Kit and he wouldn’t put in a lot of effort to hide that he still care NOW Dru doesn’t really know to Ash is but he’s in love w her cuz why else would he carry her picture around so either Dru was trying to convince Ash that she wasn’t in love with him tho he was in love w her OR Ash was trying to hide his feelings for Dru and then maybe one of them gets hurt during a battle and is supposedly “dying” in the others arms

You’d pick me over Solaris?"  With complete sincerity, Regulus nodded and asserted, "I'd choose you above all others." Yet in his youthful innocence, he failed to realize how foolish he was to believe that Sirius would reciprocate such unwavering loyalty.

I'm sorry I forgot to post my "Tangential Tuesday" thing this week (or last week? Idk time is a lie) but I am 1: always accepting prompts and 2: STILL WORKING ON THINGS I PROMISE

Here, as proof, a teaser for the next bit of #wtf the clave is competent for @hopeswept (I mean, it's still before Malec meet in the Valentine-is-very-dead-verse, but we're getting closer!)

"And so it begins," a soft voice whispered behind him, and Alec turned just enough to catch his parabatai's eye and raised an eyebrow. She snorted at the expression on his face, and he would be willing to admit that he did feel better than he did five seconds ago. Maybe. Probably only to her or Izzy though, and they'd both already know so it wouldn't be admitting anything at all. He managed a serene nod, and Lydia swallowed another snort, discreetly enough he was reasonably sure he was the only one who noticed. Well, John would have, but he and Mary Elizabeth had insisted that all their peers help them take all the current trainees on an ‘exercise’ (camping trip) in Alicante, thus clearing out everyone who might interrupt a formal event with informal manners and fuck things up a little too much. It was very strange knowing he and Lydia were the youngest Shadowhunters currently in New York, and also about to be invested as Heads in front of the local Downworld. None of their instructors over the years had been locals, a purposeful decision to permit them a chance to fuck things up without leaving too terrible an impression with people they’d have to work with later; it felt almost standard, in fact, very similar to the way Nephilim usually transferred to a new Institute once they were of age. Except for them, the Circle Orphans who, despite their innocence, despite the way their parents had been removed from all the family histories, despite all Imogen’s claim of a fresh start… they were never going to be allowed anywhere else, nowhere further away from the Inquisitor’s control and the downworld’s judgement than New York City. Alec, whose appointment to the Headship of the New York Institute was more politics than anything else, but he’d made damned sure he was going to be able to take care of his people regardless. (Made damn sure if they were all trapped, they’d at least have one of their own to watch their backs.) And chosen his own parabatai and co-head along the way. Who wasn’t a Circle Orphan, whose parents had stayed the fuck away from Valentine and the Uprising, who had nevertheless decided to tie her fate to theirs. And not just so she could be Head of an Institute, though that certainly helped. (Especially since John wanted to be her Co-Head about as much as Alec wanted to marry a woman, and while occasionally there were exceptions, spouses or parabatai were pretty much the only people who could get invested as Heads, as those were partners you chose, partnerships blessed by the angels, even, if you took all the rune ceremonies literally.) Neither of them did, but that wasn’t something they were going to tell anyone, especially not if they wanted their parabatai bond to be respected enough to let them do their jobs. Especially not before they were Invested. It would be easy for Imogen to delay an investiture indefinitely; it was much more difficult to take a Headship away after it was granted. The clock chimed, and Alec breathed. The doors swung open, and he and Lydia clasped arms and walked into their future. Finally.

Well, I was never ever in my life boiling as much tears over the fictional characters as I was while reading my favourite book trilogy of the Shadowhunter chronicles - the Infernal Devices...for the eighth time!

So, Thanks a lot, Cassandra Clare!

It's fun to re-read all the series every time a new book released and Cassie writes much much faster than G.R.R.Martin, but still...

Can't wait for the last trilogy, especially after all those teasers

I wonder if CE is struggling this year... I feel like at least once a week I get an email saying they're "extending the 10% off sale". And today's email also says they're selling "family business messenger bags". I mean, maybe if you didn't just hike up your prices again you wouldn't have to keep offering sales...

I'm sure they're struggling, and for a couple of reasons. One of the biggest is that Supernatural is over. There are no more SPN teasers, episode discussions, or behind the scenes tidbits (at least not any new ones), to draw people in. It's one of the reasons Creation is rebranding as the cons as J2 and friends cons. They're trying to branch out and pull in fans from other fandoms (Smallville, Shadowhunters, Pretty Little Liars, Walker, etc.).

Unfortunately, their timing is awful. They happened to raise their prices and rebrand at the same time the countries experiencing high inflation. When the prices of essentials go up, the non-essentials, like pricey conventions, get cut out of the budget. So, fewer people who are interested, plus fewer people who can afford them, means fewer ticket sales. Now, they seem to be banking (literally) on the regular con goers who seem to have an endless budget by offering J2 and Baby ops, and the J2 M&G. With 12 conventions scheduled this year, they've oversaturated what the SPN fandom can sustain.

I can't say I wouldn't be disappointed if this period spelled the end for SPN conventions, or at least a slow down. For 2023, their Vampire Diaries/Originals conventions only have 7 scheduled, and then a few other fandoms only have one convention for the year. If J2 went down to 6 a year, I'm sure Creation could build enough demand that could fill the seats.

They also need to crack down on their security and refuse entrance to anyone who makes or encourages threats or direct hatred towards their guests and make it a safer environment for all fans, but I'm afraid that won't happen until they experience a highly publicized security problem.

(Sorry it's so long, the ask got away from me. LOL!)

The interviewer eyed his guest with a mischievous look.

“Just ‘friends’?”

“You’ll have to be patient, I suppose.”

The audience laughed.

Bullshit.

This is all bullshit.

“So, where do we start?”

The guest’s glare fell back on the interviewer.

“With the night before the Reaping.”
