Hello once again, Reddit. I’m not quite sure how to phrase this, but bear with me. For years now, whenever I try to accomplish anything, or I’m asked to do something, I always come up short. I’ll either blow it off, or forget about it. Two weeks later, it’s still not done. In this case, I needed to make a return to a lumber supply company because they donated more than what I needed for my particular project. My dad wanted it out of his garage, but to take it up there, I would need to use my moms car, which is much larger than mine. I was supposed to do it last week, and I forgot. So I tried to do it today, but they were closed because their Saturday hours are much shorter. Now he’s upset with me, saying “if you hadn’t been fucking around last week, this would’ve been done.” This is a common thing for me, I often forget to do something after blowing people off (“I got it,geez”). It’s gotten to the point where I’m constantly worried that I’m going to get yelled at for forgetting something. I’ve tried making lists, but I always either forget to look at them, don’t write everything I need on them, or lose the list. I’m super disorganized, and it’s starting to paint me as a really irresponsible person. I really don’t want to be that way anymore, especially because of the arguments that it leads to. I just want my parents to be proud of me, and to be person people can rely on. What should I do?
