YAE    MIKO-SAN    WAS    UNLIKE    ANY    OTHER    GUEST    she    had    met    in    the    bathhouse.    the    spirit    was    rather    amiable    towards    her    in    a    sense;    inviting    her    over    to    play    cards    and    even    more    recently,    just    to    sit    down    and    have    a    chat    (    definitely    far    from    those    rude    and    vulgar    guests    she    would    come    across    from    time    to    time.    A    SHUDDER.    )    it    was    ...    a    breath    of    fresh    air    honestly;    to    have    found    a    friend    in    this    strange    strange    place.    

work    rag    was    left    discarded    on    the    floor    as    she    was    once    again    called    over    by    the    older.    ONLY    A    COUPLE    OF    MINUTES    have    passed    by    and    yet,    she    found    them    traversing    a    multitude    of    conversations    already    (    mostly    it    was    the    child    detailing    her    recent    experiences    in    the    bathhouse. )    

it    had    been    an    enjoyable    chatter    UNTIL    the    fortune-teller’s    last    statement    caused    sen    to    shrink    away.    coal-like    hues    idly    stared    at    her    lap.    

IT    WAS    FAR    MORE    COMPLICATED    than    just    casting    aside    her    facade    of    bravery.    OF    COURSE,    she    had    already    wanted    to    cry;    to    break    down    at    the    fatigue    that    began    to    weigh    her    entire    being    down    with    each    passing    day,    at    the    sleepless    nights    plagued    by    the    repetitive    nightmare    of    her    parents    turning    into    pigs,    at    the    everyday    longing    for    her    home    back    in    the    human    world.    

SO    BADLY    did    she    wish    to    weep    and    complain    at    the    unfairness    of    it    all    !    but    such    luxury    was    not    granted    no    matter    how    much    she    wished    for    it.    instead    ,    if    she    were    to    weep    and    the    other    spirits    found    her    in    such    a    state,    they    could    easily    raise    it    to    the    witch    of    the    house.    as    per    their    agreement,    one    complaint    from    her    and    she    would    be    off    the    job.    and    her    parents?    they    were    to    remain    pigs    for    ALL    ETERNITY.

and    so    what    does    she    do    to    distract    herself    from    the    sadness    that    began    to    brew    in    her    heart?    she    works    on    her    tasks    as    diligently    as    she    could:    be    that    efficient    worker    the    guests    needed    /    that    errand    girl    for    everyone    in    the    bathhouse    /    that    friend    she    could    be    for    haku        /    that    last    bit    of    hope    her    parents    had.    it    had    WORKED    WELL    after    all    (    for    them    at    least.    )    but    did    yae    miko    see    right    through    her?    

in    nervousness    did    thumbs    twiddle    with    each    other    while    eyes    were    still    downcast.            ❛    is    it    ….    is    it    that    obvious    ?    ❜
