How’d they meet? 

Similar to how Bennett meets and bonds with Barbara, Calla becomes familiar with Bennett thanks to how often he gets hurt, and the poor boy’s bad luck. So she makes a point of spending time with him and checking in on him. That much bad luck and negativity in one’s life can’t be good for your mental health, after all. Bennett mostly just enjoys having such a nice and caring adult around and willing to spend time with him! Part of Calla’s insistence to tag along and keep an eye on him is to ensure he doesn’t completely neglect himself and his safety in favor or others’.

Typical Hangouts 

Calla has been known to join Bennett’s adventures as his team healer, which he really appreciates and enjoys! People are more willing to adventure with him when she tags along!

Alternatively, Bennett sometimes joins Calla when she goes to get ingredients for whoever needs them. He knows she can defend herself, but still!

Notable Headcanons 

Calla helps Bennett hone his own healing ability, but also ensures he understands that sometimes his Pyro healing isn’t the safest to utilize. This also leads to her reminding him that while Pyro can be very destructive, any element can be. Hydro has floods, Anemo has hurricanes, Cryo with snowstorms, etc. Pyro comes with destruction, but also with warmth and comfort. It’s all in the situation.

Bennett is the one who started the trend of calling her “Auntie Calla” / “Aunt Calla”, and she accepted the title happily.

Heyoooo. I wanted to say, I'm sorry about that mean-ass, insulting anon you got a while back. That ask ended up pissing me off so bad I ended up actually reading your Marchil analysis posts. Originally, I was meh and kinda confused when the ship showed up in Ao3 because I didn't see what people liked about it. Reading your posts about how they were narrative foils opened my mind more, and I realized, Oh shit yeah there's a lot of potential in this ship for how these two can develop each other.

Part 2: Marcille and Chilchuck may not have scenes like the infamous bath scene with Farlin, but the concept of someone who's terrified of being alone, the reality of her friends' mortality, a hopeless romantic catching feelings for a repressed, divorced man whose wife left him--okay yeah, I absolutely understand the appeal of this ship. Marcille would be like, Why the fuck is my heart thrumming for this sharp-tongued bitch, and also the terror from falling in love with someone so short-lived Part 3: Either way, love your analysis posts. I am going to be contemplating the potential of Marcille and Chilchuck for a long while. There is something so tragically sweet about it

You get it, you really do… I could list off everything I love about them but I’d be here forever because it’s literally everything and there are so many fun ways to spin it… You’re very right about them being tragically sweet, overall where their arcs meet the most is "Loving is something worth doing even with the risk of loss", and I say risk but really it’s more the inevitable eventuality of it as canon does love to point out. If you want the reward of being loved you must go through the mortifying ordeal of being known. No love however brief is wasted. Let me see you and stay. It’s very much sort of the final boss to their arcs for them to get invested in each other in such a way, to get involved romantically— emotionally with someone knowing what’s coming and that she barely has two decades left with him (who mistreats his health so much he very well could die early), and to shoot your shot for something new with hope in your heart and enough confidence that you’re worth loving. He’s not a prince charming but to her he sort of is, all virtuous husband this reliable dependable Chilchuck that, all "you may be flawed but I’ll still romanticize your qualities and convince you that you and your love for your beloved are something worth fighting for".

What if I was old bread that solidified to be hard as rock and you were like warm soup and by soaking in your presence I softened……… What if you stubbornly grew on me like yeast and it brought out my flavor like beer as I opened up and allowed you in………. What if your hair was golden, the epitome of beauty to me, and my hair turned silver, your worst nightmare……. I think about them a normal amount

I barely know what a meta is. BUT.

While the characters don’t change at all with his presence, I feel like him being there shows an implication that Allan acts different outside of work than he does at work- and confirms it in the S3 date night B-plot.

I also think people would compare and contrast Allan and Whatwulf’s relationship to Charlie and Pim’s as character analysis for Charlie and Pim.

Which would also get validated in S3 with an ep where Whatwulf and Charlie break into the abandoned Salty’s restaurant to try to make an urban exploration video. The episode starts with both of them lamenting about relationship issue they’re having, unspecified for now, They don’t summon him, but turns out the fucked up and evil mascots STILL live there and are out to kill the two of them in a vague Saw parody, leading to scenes that somehow force them to confront the problems they’re both having since they both don’t wanna face them. Whatwulf’s worries are that he doesn’t do enough in the relationship, that his boyfriend could do better, and worries about every small argument they have- which don’t even happen often anymore. So for him its very much a ‘proving himself’ thing to himself and rethinking about how his worries are literally just his poor self esteem manifesting, and not anything that his boyfriend actually thinks abt him.

For Charlie, he tries to avoid being vulnerable and emotional with Pim, which Pim genuinely gets upset by. Charlie keeps thinking about the argument him and Pim had that they haven’t talked since after, with Pim going “I mean, I just don’t see why we are even dating if you’re not going to act like we are.” which he knows is absolutely true but is in denial about it. Somehow, summoning Salty with a ouija board solves this for him. Also the near death experiences they both had with the mascots.

I think the fact that Whatwulf is friends with both Charlie and Pim, AND Gnarly and Grim, who still absolutely fucking hate each other, ends up being significant in Whatwulf and Allan’s wedding episode. They’re Whatwulf’s only two friends that he doesn’t also share with Allan, so all Allan knew was that Whatwulf was inviting his two old college roomies that he recently started hanging out with again. Despite the setting being Allan and Whatwulf’s wedding, the main focus ends up being on Charlie and Pim.

Those are just a few examples of how Whatwulf isn’t really changing anything in the show or how anyone acts, but he gives new opportunities for new storys that otherwise wouldnt have been able to happen.

How’d they meet? 

They first met when Calla was returning from an ingredient gathering walk, and stopped to get some apples on the way. Only for a boy? Young man? Dressed in green to swoop in and take the lowest hanging one, taunting her in a rather childish manner. Later that day, she found the same person performing in front of the Statue of Barbatos in front of the Cathedral, revealing himself as Venti the Bard. Some rather light discussion, and an unnoticed glance towards her Vision, led to him suggesting they go to the Angel’s Share to continue talking. 

Typical Hangouts 

Sitting under the Vanessa Tree, watching crystal flies or telling stories

Venti sometimes joins Calla when she’s helping Lisa at the library, in quiet moments he’ll workshop new ballads, often trying to convince her to sing with him.

Venti finds Calla’s take on Freedom refreshing, which is why he’s so eager to get to know her better. What other new beliefs can she share??

Before Calla knows his identity, she finds herself musing quite a lot about Barbatos and the Anemo Archon, most distressing (for Venti, at least), is her hope that Barbatos will be kind and bring her spirit to Windrise after she dies

Once Calla knows who Venti is, and the story of the Nameless Bard, she finds herself trying to prepare him for the eventuality of this generation dying.

He, for his entire existence kept his feelings for Z.ennon as well, but struggled time and time again through his bouts of anxiety and attempts to maintain Mania, that he is even unsure of how to speak of them. In his life tied to Keely, fate instantly tied him to Ry.o, Sa.tan's mortal guise. Quite an interesting twist!

He's practically untouchable, even in any emotional ways, as well-until the similarly loner devil, Err made himself known to Am.on's territory. He's smaller, angrier, jaded and meaner. He is quite a match for the red devil, but he soon discovers that Err needs guidance, and Am.on's heart becomes quite attached. Who says devils can't truly find love? They seemingly find each other again in present life as Err attaches his demonic being to unsuspecting human, Devin, who is a wayward loner similarly to the devil Err. He finds himself immediately drawn to Ak.ira, especially when he found himself exposed to the Devil.man in action on one fateful night.
