Your last post about how Koyan is dumb mentioned Amaterasu being Nasu's OC lore and it just reminds me how much the Amaterasu-Tamamo syncretism bugs me.
The syncretism chain that I am usually given when I ask about it feels like a LOT of BS hoops to jump through to justify the connection. Like, how many other Servants could you wank to be OP with similar logic?
When I see Tamamo-no-Mae as a servant, I want to see Tamamo-no-Mae and everything cool/interesting about her legend, but this feels like Amaterasu wearing Tamamo-no-Mae cosplay. Why haven't we gotten a version that uses the (Sessho-seki) "Killing Stone" as her NP? Why is Tamamo using a mirror she has NO connection to.
fucking bingo. Tamamo No Mae, regardless of the quality of her character, is 10% Tamamo and 90% Amaterasu Shrine Maiden.
also, as someone who LOVES syncretism and tracing how legends and myths have evolved and intertwined across history (hence my Georgios-Ogun focus in lb7r) the level of hoop jumping also goes beyond syncretism into making shit up

DISTRUTHS - trial 5
Alright!!! final trial time
monobear continues to be so rude about playing his little prank on them.
then he says that this trial is different. everybody already knows who killed tsubame, that's pretty clear. the thing that monobear wants to know is who was her accomplice, because he wants to execute them.
when asked "didn't you set up that trap specifically for the accomplice, why don't you know who it is," he says
"i. uh. was asleep."
ANYWAYS the accomplice can make it easier for everybody by fessing up.
there's not really a good incentive to confess though, someone says, and monobear is like "right."
shackles suddenly close around everybody's legs. "if the accomplice doesn't confess, i'm just gonna kill everybody one by one until they do. teehee!"
noboru suggests that, well, maybe the accomplice can't confess because he literally can't remember.
it's quickly pointed out that this is extremely unlikely, since he's obviously been attacked and there was red hair at the scene. whoever was the attacker was probably the person with red hair.
monobear immediately denies that there's any other secret person hanging around, so there's no playing that card.
matsui just says it's her, but it's clear that it's not true and she's saying it more out of self-loathing despair and she refuses to elaborate.
monobear spills the tea because, well, matsui did text "tsubame" a lot, and one of the conversations they had was her apologizing for something she said to tsubame shortly before the office blew up. (again, hadn't exactly filled it out, but the gist is matsui feels guilty about whatever she said because it could be construed that she said something bad enough that it drove tsubame to die by suicide...or something)
anyways, everybody besides matsui try stalling for time by going over tsubame's death under the pretense of "well that's how we can figure out the accomplice."
essentially, tsubame took the poisoned "sleeping pills" before then using a monobear to explode the office door. one of the symptoms of the sleeping pills was "loss of sensation," and she used that in tandem with the information she gathered about the building and monobear to act as a decoy. her accomplice then would go in and grab whatever they could that looked useful and scram before Seki could notice.
tsubame eventually dies, Seki finds out about the ploy, then hides tsubame's body and brings out the headmaster's and the neurologist's bodies to sort of force everybody into a murder investigation.
then of course Seki pretended to be tsubame in order to figure out the accomplice. this is mainly out of spite and to enforce a show of power, so that everybody can give up the idea that they could ever escape.
anyways, the accomplice is kotone. they've...essentially been cosplaying this entire time, and their hair is a wig. their real hair color is red.
So, i'm not sure when, but i do know Seki shows up in person since there's not actually much point in keeping up the monobear facade, and also, they're all shackled. but anyways, now that it's been revealed, she gets ready to execute kotone, when. noboru. takes off his own leg and whacks her on the head with it, knocking her out.
it turns out, noboru has had a fake leg this whole time. (this is why he always looks so wobbly. honestly, the fake leg is a little too long.)
by the way, he has no idea why he has a fake leg. it's been sort of disconcerting for him this entire time.
(akane mentions that it's because it had to be amputated while they were being transferred to the headmaster's crazy secret base.)
noboru is able to press the button to release the shackles and then everybody proceeds to tie Seki up.
āWhy was Noboru unconscious at the door?ā Well, Noboru was actuallyā¦the second accomplice! He just didnāt know.
Iām not sure if Kotone knocked him unconscious or if he accidentally knocked himself unconscious, but Kotone tore some stuff out of his notebook because they realized this was a set up and they figured they should cover some tracks.
anyways, through either investigation or interrogation, it's found that Seki, as SHSL luck, was chosen as part of a huge raffle, the headmaster used this raffle mainly for funding, however. Seki grew disillusioned about the whole thing, especially since getting her into this school messed up her family's financials.
Mori, as the headmaster's daughter, had also been extremely unhappy with this whole thing, especially since it seemed the headmaster was essentially neglecting her in favor of "better kids." Mori is the one who kickstarted the riots, and she roped Seki into the plot.
Seki was fully aware that Mori was using her, but went along with it. But she also planned to turn against Mori at some point, because there was a big divergence between their viewpoint. Seki full on hated the school and the students because of the idea of elevating "talented kids." Mori was clearly more envious, her grudge was more personal, she still bought into the whole "talent" thing and therefore was just as bad or whatever.
anyways, that's what the motivation was.
seki's just like "haha and now i guess you'll kill me" and everybody else is just like "uh. no??? no, we're not doing that."
anyways they manage to open the door and that's when they find out the headmaster's secret base is a whole fuckin underwater facility in the middle of an island, and then that's where DISTRUST ends, that's all i thought of. i'll probably make another post for additional notes that didn't fit anywhere else.
#dangan ronpa adventure#a lot about the mastermind concept came from a makoto mastermind AU i saw once

i never know how many of my followers are relatively recent and how many have been here since i was 18 but you guys DO know that im obsessive and insane about comics right? i have always read 95% of the manga i get recommended unless it's pretty niche. (those numbers go way up if it's something tastefully edgy and way down if it's like...shoujo)
#im sorry shoujo lovers i dont think it's a bad genre but i DO usually find it boring#i just assume everyones been here forever and get surprised when people ask me if ive read stuff like opp and missed my seki obsession...se#ki cosplay....seki kinnie phase basically

What animes do you think the ashura or omega boys would watch? I just wanted to know your thoughts because I'm pretty sure Haruo would've shown Seki some animes, then that would've spread to Wakatsuki then so one and so forth. I kinda have a feeling Cosmo would be into Fairy Tail but if I'm wrong then I guess I shot my shot. Thank you even if you just think about this one and just read it. Have a wonderful day!
Oh I love this so much!!! Thanks so much for taking the time and sending this to my ask box! I had a lot of fun with this!! I put a TON of thought Into this one. I included a lot of my favorite anime!!
Cosmo would like really like One Piece and Fairy Tail. Heās super into big adventure fantasy anime/manga like that. His friends at his school are into them as well. Heās tried to get Wakatsuki and Sekibayashi to watch them. Waka will sit down with him, Seki has tried to get Cosmo and Haruo to hang out.
Sayaka LOVES Sailor Moon. She has the replica of the moon stick. She has the transformation choreography memorized. Sheās cosplayed Usagi! Her favorite merch she has is the Sailor Moon x Colour Pop makeup collection.
Okubo is obviously a big fan of Ultraman. He really likes the manga adaptation. He likes video game adaptations like PokƩmon. Okubo though has a soft spot of Ecchi anime with lots of fan service like High School DxD.
Rihito likes hentai anime. He says he watches it for the āplotā but thatās a total lie. He also really likes YuGiOh. He also likes Demon Slayer.
Okubo has tried to get Agito to sit down and watch Ultraman as well as PokĆ©mon. He also tried to get him to play the Megaman games. Agito though, found himself really liking studio Ghibli movies. His favorite is Howlās Moving Castle.
Itās canon that Takeruās favorite manga is KyÅ Kara Ore Wa!! He also likes Great Teacher Onizuka. He also really enjoys Gintama. Heās got a really outrĆ© sense of humor- those anime give him a good laugh.
Haruo is a total Weeb. He loves PokĆ©mon, heās even got a card collection. His favorite PokĆ©mon are Groudon, Pangoro, and Snorlax (for obvious reasons) Haruo really likes Shonen anime, particularly Bleach, My Hero Academia, Dragon Ball, and One Piece. But he watches a lot of others. Haruo frequents anime conventions. I can see him cosplaying. He also really likes gaming- especially retro gaming.
Haruo has attempted to get Sekibayashi to watch anime as well. Seki complies because he likes seeing his son happy. Seki likes Kinnikuman and Tiger mask for obvious reasons. Sekiās favorite PokĆ©mon is Machamp. Haruo made Seki watch Moomin, Seki actually enjoyed it very much. Seki also really likes One Punch Man, Jojoās Bizarre Adventure, and Dragon ball
We canāt NOT talk about the king of Weebs himself- Falcon. Literally adores the Naruto franchise. Itās pretty much everything he watches. He also likes Bleach and Full Metal Alchemist. He collects merch and figures.
Wakatsuki likes Cowboy Bebop, Galaxy Express, and Rama 1/2. He likes a lot of retro anime. He also is a fan of Ghibli movies. His favorite is Ponyo and Princess Mononoke.
Raian likes Blood-C, Deadman wonderland, and Attack on Titan. Though his favorite is Berserk. Pretty much any anime/manga thatās super gory but with a storyline that would keep him interested.

The Reasons why I shipĀ éå£
Ahem.. welp itās been almost 2 years that Iāve been obsessed over this pairing... and thatās the main reason why I want to contribute anything that makes this ship still working lmao.Ā
[Some of you may know that I recently made a lot of Gil x Saber fanarts, I also write a fanfic about them (Itās NSFW anyway, if you ever stumbled upon it, please donāt kink-shaming me, okay ;) and I have no idea how to continue it)..]Ā
Anyway I want to make a honest opinion about how I feel, since I donāt have any friends that into this ship but I guess thereās a lot of fellas out there that loved this pairing too :ā #sadlife
I know thereās A LOT of people that against this ship, and said that this ship is unhealthy (apparently yes bcs in F/SN main routes Gil is a colossal dick corrupted by grail but...) letās see on the other side...
Tbvh, I used to ship Saber with Shirou when I watched F/SN by studio DEEN back then (when I was in elementary school) but now Iām currently an University student that already mature enough so my taste and the way I think may altered. Without further ado, hereās my opinions:
Ā They look good together:Ā Ā
Both of them are blonde -> (actually thatās my main reason why I liked them bcs I tend to like blonde characters regardless their gender).
Height Difference : Their height difference is about 28 cm (Gil=182 cm, Arturia=154cm). You know that every tall guys need a short girl (and vice versa) lmao.
Gilgamesh is portrayed as a handsomeĀ pretty boy (especially when his hair down) compared to Shiro (just a plain highschooler boy). All of us know that Arturia is a beautiful girl so, shipping her with Gil would make a picture perfect couple lmao.
Ā Ā Ā 2.Ā Ā Gilgamesh is faithful and Shiro is a two timer
In the VN, Shiro has different love interest due to different routes. In FSN he may loved saber but in UBW he loves Rin, and in HF he loved Sakura. Knowing this facts, I rather consider Shiro and Saberās relationship just a master-servant in professional way.Ā He doesnāt deserve her! lol.
At the other side, Gilgamesh the prideful arrogant bastard ,King of Heroes is faithful for keeping his promise that he waited for her for almost 10 years and still has desire towards her.
Ā Ā Ā 3.Ā Ā Foe-Yay:
Ā We already know that both of them are destined to against each other as enemies at the end of F/Z episode where both of them fighting to death to obtain the grail, thereās a scene where he stabbed her leg with his sword andĀ propose her. Itās kinda messed up and awful in real life..but at the other side I started to thinkĀ āshipping them maybe interestingā then, i checked out some fanarts and eventually stumbled into their r-18 doujinshi yum.š³
Ā Ā Ā 4.Ā A lot of materials and Ideas
(source: pixiv)
Well, thereās a TON of fan materials that involving this ship and itās quite varied from love-hate relationships, tsundere-tsundere, foe-yay, r-18, etc. Itās depends on the situation. Infacts this pair is one of the most popular ship within fate franchise and a lot of Japanese ppl seem to liked this pairing too.
5. Their Voice Actor & Actress often playing couple roles
(source:tumblr)
Also, Saberās VA (Ayako Kawasumi) has a major crush on Gilgamesh and choose his seiyuu (Tomokazu Seki) as a partner that she liked to collaborated with.
Bonus:
(Recently i found thereās a Japanese cosplayers of Gil & Saber that married each other and cosplaying at their wedding reception).
(source: twitter)
at comiket 86 thereās TYPE MOON booth named :
Eden on earth
starred by Arturia in Avalon & Gil in Babylon.
Also, take a look at this magazine! ā°(*Ā“ļø¶`*)āÆā”
(source : Google)
that means even TM & Ufotable themself lowkey makes this ship canon lol.
Yup these are my main reasons, it may not covering the whole thing but I just want to write something like this, Iām okay if you donāt agree with my opinions, well every person have their own opinion and their preferable ships, we should respect every opinions and once again please forgive me if my English skill is not good enough, iām not a native speaker and Iām still learning.
Thanks for reading this. lol š

Miyoās Anime of Note 2018 Rainbow Edition
2018 was some kind of a year wasn't it? It was long and a pain in the ass but there was some anime out this year I really enjoyed. I'm here to write down a bunch of shows I enjoyed in no particular order. I might put them in the order I watched them in, or I might not. I guess we'll see huh?
Also, I think there's WAY more this year than usual which means I either like things easily, there were a lot of good shows, all of the above or some other reason. Hope I don't get too long winded on you! Also I'm using whatever names I feel like for naming things off, translated, still Japanese...whaaatever~
Pop Team Epic
Pop Team Epic was everything I wanted it to be and more. I've been a fan of Bkub's work since the early days so to see these two shitty girls finally show up on the anime screen week to week was a pleasure and a delight. The decision to make two separate half episodes with different voice actors for Popuko and Pipimi was a wonderful decision that let us experience things like Aoi Yuki as Popuko and Norio Wakamoto as Pipimi. It also shot the wonderful team of ACBU into the spotlight. Their Bobunemimimmi segments were so disgustingly perfect and fit the tone of the show perfectly. It also gave us one of the best moments in anime this year:
Needless to say, I really hope they are doing a season 2 like it's been rumored. I'm on board for SO much more.
Yuru Camp
This was a show I actually watched twice this year and have subsequently watched multiple episodes just on my own. It is one of my favorite things this year and maybe it's just because of how unassuming it is. There's honestly nothing deep to the show. Cute girls dress in warm winter clothing and go camping. However, the way everything is paced with nice warm colors and chill ass music nestles its way into your heart and fills you with a nice cozy feeling. It's like a blanket, the anime. Just wrap yourself up in the wonderful friend times and maybe you'll learn a thing or two about camping and friendship along the way.
Mitsuboshi Colors
Are adults letting you down? Sure, they're not up to the challenge pretty much all the time. But that's why you should just stay out of the way and let Colors come in to save the day! This trio of girls are ready to save their town and to let shitty cops know what's up. Seriously, it's a cute show with a cute group of friends getting into big adventures, even if those adventures are often due to their own misconceptions. It's a good show with kids who act like kids and are always either talking about poop or are sucking at video games. It's a nice show and has some good performances, as well as the best sunglasses of 2018 in my book.
Karakai no Jouzu Takagi-san
A series about a boy and a girl who are totally crushing on each other, even if one likes to keep it deeply hidden and the other would never admit it really. Oh, also she owns him every chance she can get with teasing. It's like a reverse Tonari no Seki-kun if Seki was not in his own world and was actively trying to make Rumi blush or stumble over herself. This premise may sound mean but it's honestly all in good fun and there's something really cute about the pair's friendship with each other. The way the manga apparently goes makes me really want to check it out sometime too.
Oh also there's a great side trio of friends with and I love how dumb of a baby one of them is.
Hinamatsuri
What happens when a yakuza becomes the dad of a psychic girl who crashed in an egg in his apartment and broke all his vases? This series! Hinamatsuri was a show that got me really hard this year at a couple points where I know I had to either fight back tears or take a few minutes to sit their with a quivering lip and watery eyes. It's an incredibly funny show from Ā the premise alone but when you have the put upon character of Nitta having to take care of the force of nature that is Hina it just escalates it. On top of that though, there's a good heart to it as well. Anzu is a wonderful character and I love her story and her many grandpas. Also Hitomi's story actively hit me hard to where I felt bad for a fictional child to please just be a child for a little while. It was powerful stuff and I loved it.
Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online
I hate Sword Art Online. I've only watched the first series with the original and faerie times, but I hated it so much. That being said, hearing that the new one was actually good made me seek it out and...thank God it is. Llenn/Karen is just a much more compelling character than the power fantasy that is Kirito. The story of a woman who does not like herself in the real world, but finds a new home and life in virtual reality is a nice little story. On top of that, ditching the stupid "if you die in the game, you die in real life" really helped the show out in my eyes. This show is not about stop some huge over arcing villainous plot to fuck over the whole world or whatever. GGO is about trying to save someone from hurting themselves and honestly, that's a lot more relatable. A recap episode in this day in age IS silly though for what it's worth.
Let's take a short break shall we? For a little section I'm gonna call, Fuck, You Let me Down Man.
Amanchu Advance
I put Amanchu on my list two years ago of Anime of Note because I really enjoyed the tale of friendship it told. Amanchu Advance continues that story and shows Teko slowly becoming more of her own person thanks to that friendship. She wants to become a stronger person, a better version of herself and it's through her friends she's able to do this. The series is still very good at showing these moments but the last few episodes of the show are bogged down in a weird supernatural plot with a ghost boy that I wish they would have just tossed down the shrine steps. The twist at the end with it was not worth sidetracking the story for three episodes in a 12 episode story and soured my experience as a whole. I've been told the author likes doing these sorts of things and I didn't mind the lucid dreaming episodes, but this bit just did not land for me and it's a big bummer.
Here's Another Side Category Called Old Anime I Watched And Enjoyed. Yes, that's the full title.
G Gundam
I don't know why it took me so long to watch this series, but I am glad I did. Maybe I just needed friends to be there to watch it with, who knows. Either way, I'm thankful I got to join Domon on his journey searching for the man in the photograph and to experience the Undefeated of the East in his most powerful form. G Gundam is a goofy setting with a bunch of weird but fun characters and their even weirder mobile suits. I don't know how much I can really say on it since I'm sure most people have probably checked it out years ago on Toonami. It's still fun and good and it has a Gundam who is a boxer and a football man at the same time. Gundam Fight, Readdddddy....GO!
Back to my normal list, though I have grouped the next couple shows in a block I am calling the "I wish these had a full 24 episodes even though I understand why they didn't but please make more I'd love it, ok thanks" block.
A Place Further Than The Universe
This show had...a lot of moments where I was sitting there and just processing all that was going on. A group of girls become friends and join a civilian expedition to Antarctica, one of whom is going there to basically go where her mother had spoken of years ago and never came back. It's a show that I felt compelled to keep watching even though I knew I should have stopped for the night, telling myself "I can watch one more episode..." . It just gripped me and sank its penguin fangs into me. Shut up, I know what I said. Seriously though, the cast of secondary characters are just as fun as the main ones and I enjoyed every minute of it. It definitely destroyed me in one of the more heavy moments near the end though so keep a box of tissues handy ok?
Wotakoi
Love is hard for otaku. It's in the show's translated title and everything. Let me tell you, I'm very happy seeing so many anime featuring adults in the work place these days. Wotakoi is a show I felt a very personal connection to, especially its humor levels. Not going to lie, Ā I am a Kabakura through and through when it comes to my anime watching and purchasing habits. It's a cute love story with a couple of characters getting together out of convenience before realizing maybe there's something more than that to it. The interactions are great and it's very relatable if you've ever had a friends' game night or anime watching session. It's a show that just feels like it knows just how to speak to you if you've been a fan of anime for a long time.
Hisone to Masotan
Hey, you into dragon vore? Then have I got the show for you buddy. All joking aside, Hisomaso is a show with one of the more fun protagonists I've run into in a while. Hisone's blunt and to the point to the detriment of anything that comes out of her mouth most of the time, but there's something about her honesty that's very endearing. The show's pilots are a great cast and their dragon friends are just as charismatic even if they spend a lot of the time cosplaying as aircraft. This show has a nice story about trying to find just where you fit in within the world and sometimes that's hard. Sometimes the best thing to do is dive into the gullet of a big scaly F-15 and ride the free skies to your heart's content. I love you Masotan.
Shoujo Kageki Revue Starlight
This show I think more than any others in this block I wanted more of, even though I know why I don't have more of it. From episode one, I got Utena vibes with the music, the auditions, Hell, even the prefight wardrobe transformations. Stage girls do battle with all of their shine to prove who is truly the top star. That's the basic premise and the cast of characters really helps to flesh it out with their own motivations of what makes them keep going to be the very best they can be. I loved all of the imagery in the auditions and the music and the big doofy giraffe just watching from the stands and enjoying the whole thing. Revue Starlight is a stylish show with some amazing animation and choreography that puts most of the things I watched this year to shame and I need more things like it.
STOP IT'S PRECURE TIME
Go Princess Precure
This is me and Cheapsteak's "old Precure" of the year and it's wonderful. It's a story about dreams and fighting for them. The Princess Precures are maybe not the most relatable of characters as they attend a very prim and proper high class school. One is a business conglomerate's daughter, one's a super model, one's a Princess from another plane entirely. But there is something wonderful how they all work together as friends and work to save everyone's dreams, I don't know there's something very good and wonderful about that. I love that even when it comes to one of the villains, a character in the show goes out of her way to help him with his self esteem (and make up). I don't know, I've got a few episodes left but I just love it. Haruka is my favorite Pink Precure I've met so far and she is gonna be tough to beat.
Hugtto Precure
Very similar to Go Princess is Hugtto, with its message of hope for the future because you can't just stay in the present. There's a great cast of characters and they all work so hard to cheer each others' dreams on, all while taking care of a baby and a hamster from the future. I think this show also has the best mid-seasons Cures I've met so far and just...everything with how supportive and good everyone is to each other has me smiling the whole time. Also in the episodes leading up to the anniversary movie this year, we got some of the best big moments I've seen in a show in a while. A lot of the episodes have some amazing animation work as well and just...I like this show a lot especially what it did to show Hana's pre-show back story as well. Pink Cures are really good huh?
Back to business!
Asobi Asobase
Along with PTE, this was one of the weirder comedies that I watched this year. It's often crass or just outright weird, but that's one of its strong points I think. The show's opening is a giant fakeout from what seems like your ordinary "cute girls doing club things" chill show because you're soon hit with some of the weirdest faces and shrieks that I've run into in a while. The characters are a troublesome group of weirdoes who try to do activities like a normal club but fail horribly at it, often due to one or more of them sabotaging it with their own dumbness. It really says something that the sweetest and most relatable characters are the witch girls who practice curses all day. They're really the best though but so are all of the fucking weirdoes in this show. Also there's ass lasers so if you're into that...
Cells at Work
Learn about the human body while dangerous viruses and germs get fucking iced like they walked into the wrong anime. Follow a red blood cell make her way through the blood stream and lose her way every single time. Thrill at the amazingly adorable platelet crew as they get to work each day. Cells at Work is a weird science shounen show with some great character designs and interactions. The way the cells just are working hard and doing their jobs as best they can is great and you want to root for them so hard. Those Killer T and White blood cells and Macrophages just love killing SO much. It's a fun show that teaches you about biology and anatomy in a somewhat rudimentary but enjoyable manner.
Plus I will stress again, the platelet design is beyond cute.
Skullface Book Seller Honda-san
Honda-san is a cute little series you could watch in an afternoon due to its episode count and length, but it's one I could see myself watching multiple times easily. It's a fun window into the window of book store retail and the Japanese publishing industry. The characters have fun designs, mostly normal bodies with some kind of weird mask/helmet on but they're very relatable. Honda-san does his best to help out the customers, even when their requests tear at his very sanity some times. But that's retail huh? It's fun though, go check out this good skeleton!
Bloom Into You
I think this was the show that intrigued me the most this year because I was just hooked on the relationship between Yuu and Touko and seeing how it advanced. Yuu is a girl who wants to be able to fall in love like everyone else her age seems to be able to and when she finally meets a girl who she thinks feels similarly...that darn senpai falls in love with her. It's a very relatable tale even if you haven't been in a lot of relationships. Seeing Yuu realize her own feelings slowly grow towards Touko and the issues that come up because of was something that had me wanting to find out more each week. It also was the show that took me the longest to come to my final thoughts on too due to its ending but ultimately, I'm glad I watched it.
Zombieland Saga
Honestly, I'm glad to start and end this list with certifiable bangers. The concept of zombies becoming idols sounds like it could just go so wrong but it doesn't. It's so good and fun and goofy. The characters are all really fun and goofy but still have depth to them, even zombie brained legend Yamada Tae. I love this show and every character in it and if there were Franchouchou concerts done like a Hatsune Miku tour, I'd go so hard. Zombieland Saga is a good and powerful show and it even has a good ending with a sequel hook. Watch these girls and cheer them on, that is an order.
I normally do a "Shows I'll Watch Next Year" section but I realize I never end up doing it so I'm just going to add one of my current ones I know I'll continue watching.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Golden Wind
Come on, you knew this was going to be on here right? I'm curious where this gangster plot line is going and can't wait to continue next year.
So that's my list, I hope you enjoyed it. For a special treat to go into 2019, I leave you with the best moment in anime 2018. Peace!
Ah well I got copyright striked so hereās a mirror

Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card-hen 1 | Gakuen Babysitters 1 | Idolish7 3 | Zoku Touken Ranbu Hanamaru 1 | Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san 1 | Miira no Kaikata 1 | Death March 1
The debuts for the winter season keep coming, but weāre almost at the end of them with this post.
Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card 1
Note I donāt have any prior experience with Cardcaptor Sakura aside from 1 volume of manga and watching the show in passing while other people were watching it, plus knowing about a few spoilers and the showās reputation as a seminal magical show showā¦then in more recent days, I finished 2 episodes of it (in fact as of the day Iām typing this, I finished episide 2 today!).
This OP makes Sakura look like later-stage Sailor Moon, and I think thatās the point.
Where did the bear in Syaoranās hand go when Sakura hugged him?
Eriol! I donāt really know much about him, and I knew I shouldāve known about him before starting this, butā¦it was a bit of a shock to see a character I technically havenāt seen the debut of with my own eyes.
I get the feeling these are the ātwo bearsā from the prologue OVAā¦
Emails! In the world of Cardcaptor Sakura! Wow, I feel oldā¦and I didnāt even grow up with her.
Hot dang! Gimme dat bishie (Yue)! I knew he was coming, butā¦I still donāt really know how he came to be!
Wow, this Yamazaki kid spouts such rubbish! Iām looking forward to seeing him in the main series now.
Itās pretty obvious I need to watch the original before understanding this fully, so Iām putting it on hold.
Gakuen Babysitters 1
Iām here for my Ume and Nishiyama. Iām not particularly good at dealing with kids, especially younger kids, but this doesnāt make me run for the hills either.
Ryuichi involves the kanji for ādragonā and Kotaro has the kanji for ātigerā.
That man with the hat is so not sketchyā¦
Iāve never heard of NAS before (but I have heard of NAZ through Idolish7).
That joke Saikawa told actually worked! These shows may all be middling this winter, but Iād be happy with even some of them on my docket. Iāve been pleasantly surprised more often than not that I havenāt found āstinker of the seasonā yet.
The comedy for this showās really on point, although the overall design is a tad lackluster.
K-Kamitani?! Apparently Ume-chanās character is Hayato Kamitani, so thatās how Ume got involved, so to speak. This sudden intro of 4 kids works on a story scale, but not in a way any person can process without pausing the video (or getting individual intros later).
Well, there are those individual intros I was asking for. Spoke too soon.
Itās actually kinda sad and quite telling how independent Kotaro is. (I still find it extremely hilarous Nishiyama ā whose first name is Kotaro - didnāt voice Kotaro, although from a practical standpoint I understand why.)
Usaida has such bedroom eyes, itās hard to ignore (because they make him look like En)! Dangit, I want my En back!
This brings back memories. My mum used to deal with kids all the time, and of course I was in the background for some of the shenanigans.
Dragon puppet symbolism, eh? (see the dotpoint a bit back about Ryuichiās name)
As soon as this guy (who kinda looks like something out of Haikyuu) started demanding Taka come with him, I screamed. That character doesnāt seem very Ume, butā¦uh, itās Ume. Gotta deal with it. Now that I listen to their voices properly though, Ume does have a ābig broā voice and Nishiyama a āearnest young manā voice.
Oh dear. Takaās imprinted on me already, and I donāt even like boys that age.
I havenāt felt a genuine sense of danger from any of these winter shows until this one, so it seems like itās one of the strongest debuts. Then again, CCS was my frontrunner before this and YuruCamp the second best, so I guess I canāt talk, eh?
Gah, I feel like I wanna cry now. That is a strong premiere!
I have a real problem with how anime tears come out in globs. Then again, Iām too much of a crybaby, as my notes can attestā¦so I guess no arguing here.
Should it be āChairmanā or āChairwomanā???
Tsundere grandma. Now thereās something I thought Iād never think in my lifeā¦
Oh, I didnāt realise earlier but Taka = āhawkā and Hayato = āfalcon manā. Animal jingoism at its finest!
Whoo, that was a real nice debut. I thought I was too old for this stuff, but itās a keeper!
Idolish7 3
Itās a good thing I chose to cover episodes 1 ā 2 so I wonāt have to do them now.
I didnāt notice Nagi getting all huggy there with everyone in range (the first time, at least).
In case you donāt know from all the other idol shows, the centre is the one in centre stage. Theyāre often seen as the leader, so itās a very important position.
This song canāt be anything but Monster Generation! Woohoo!
Wow, I havenāt seen one of those āwatch from a distanceā things in a while. Makes me nostalgic.
āIchiā would probably refer to Iori, right? (He has the kanji for āoneā in his name.)
Wowee, Nagiās entendreā¦is really thick. Like pudding.
I agree, brothers can be so strangeā¦
āā¦spoil me sometimes.ā - Laying on the entendre thicker than custard here, Iori!
These boys are so into their Magical Kokona. I want in now.
Tamaki really is an En-chanā¦En-chan! Come back! (But why does Tamaki have no socks???)
These ED outfits are so elaborate! Ooh! Imagine a gender-swapped cosplay of them, thatās be great!
Whoās that on the edge of the ED video though? (You can see something hopping up and down.)
Zoku Touken Ranbu Hanamaru 1
Can we please just call this āHanamaru 2ā like Crunchyroll? āZokuā just refers to a continuationā¦anyways, I got Hanamaru season 1 done last year while dealing with Katsugeki, soā¦here I come, sword boys!
Didnāt Hanamaru get a dub, by the way? Why would you dub this? For me to criticise it? The Touken Ranbu fanbase is kinda smallā¦
W-Wait, did they just write Yams out of this season? Yams is the protag (if not a protag) here! What did Ichiki do now to deserve this???
It was getting too hard to jump through the proxies to play Touken Ranbu as of late, so I deleted my DMM account. Even still, the sword boys have multiplied since I left! Yikes!
Wow, unexpected 1st person bit there, Kashuu/Masuda. I thought I told the industry to stop doing thatā¦
Exposition waveā¦I donāt need this wave, but I guess anime-only fans might. Carry on, Heshikiri.
So this multiple Konnosuke thing wasnāt a Katsugeki-only gag? Oh dear, my headās spinningā¦
I donāt think I noticed, but Kashuu uses a brush (and not a specialty brush provided in the lid of nail polish). Probably because in Touken Ranbu, plastic isnāt much of a conceptā¦
I still appreciate how Kashuu was this Saniwaās starter. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy for my own TR daysā¦
Photos are a nice way to recap. After all, 1 picture speaks 1000 words.
Wow, Shishiouās a real chibi compared to these tachi. But Shishiouās a tachi tooā¦
Dang, Iām jealous. These bros were around when I was a TR player, and I missed āem! Dang Kebishii drops!
So that thing really is a nue. I could never see it on Shishiouās card, yāknow.
Hmmā¦considering the bros are new swords, the Saniwaās strategy is to level up them up using the younger bro as leader (remember, the leader gets more experience). I seeā¦
A āpincer attackā is a V shape, so the description fits the Crane Wings formationā¦
I canāt say I wasnāt impressed by Akashi just then. Come to think of it, he didnāt have any battles in Hanamaruās 1st season.
A double attack suits a pair like this, of course!
Oh my gosh, they even got two dfferent voice actors for the Konnosukes! LOL!
Hanamaruās EDs kept changing and it seems like theyāll continue to change, eh? This one looks quite spiffy.
The style of this ED doesnāt look like Hanamaru at all. It was probably done by the original illustrator for the swords.
Itās a great return to form for Hanamaru! Iām sold!
Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san 1
Another day, another long titleā¦plus this show I wouldāve passed on, if not for that resolutionā¦
Michiko Yokote is on a lot of shows I watch. I donāt really know what her influence is, but it seems sheās genuinely competent at what she does.
Soā¦uh, Gendo pose anyone?
I think the teacher is the best part of this. Iāve been a bit of Tonari no Seki-kun, and the pull of that is the sheer ludicrousness of what Seki does with his stuff. However, there didnāt seem to be any intervention aside from Yokoi (I think that was her name)ā¦
Nishikataās reactions are just way too easy to readā¦
Well, that was okay, but itās definitely a show to binge all at once. On to the āon holdā pile it goes.
Wait, but they missed a segment (the 100 yen segment). Gotta skip forwardā¦
I didnāt get any laughs out of that show at all, but itās still a decent school SoL.
How to Keep a Mummy 1
I have absolutely no experience with this manga, mind youā¦aside from seeing this tiny mummy on Comicoā¦
Wow, if the mummy can fit in his shoeā¦how big is it?
The translation of āreadyā is surprisingly ganbaru, and thereās a ābutā mentioned in the Japanese title missing from the English. Also, āreadyā has sexual connotations Iād rather not pair with a tiny mummyā¦Iād say the translation of the episode title should be something more along the lines of āWhite, Round, Small, Very Wimpy But [Also] Tries Its Hardestā (āItā being the mummy and not Pennywiseā¦).
Is Dracula even public domain right now? (Does anyone care about the intellectual property of a classic vampire novel anyway? Because I sure donāt.)
Can we please start making jokes about how Soraās daddy got him a mummy? It may seem childish, but Iām tempted to now.
This mummy is so adorable, I think it even beat out the kids from Gakuen Babysitters! Geesh, Iām spoilt this season! It completely set off my moe senses, and I donāt even have any!
It imprinted on him! Oh wow!
The mummy doesnāt even have a mouthā¦how can it spit things-oh wait. Thatās the joke, isnāt it?
Come to think of it, crybaby characters ae few and far between. However, between this and Devilmanā¦er, Crybabyā¦theyāve suddenly become popularā¦I guess?
Itās like a harem, only itās between a dog and a mummy. Why I neverā¦
One of the best things about anime is that you can learn about other cultures through the things included offhandedlyā¦like that molokhiya thing that Sora mentioned. Apparently itās a Jewish vegetable of some sort.
Do mummies get jet lag too? I was just thinking how Comico stories, with their full colour and yet simple design (to allow for downward scrolling and intake by the eyes) are perfect for anime.
I listened to the show with volume for onceā¦because Tazuki seems to be the guy voiced by Keisuke Koumotoā¦and I think I was on the money there. Plus, Soraās VA really sells the delivery of jokes (although he seems to be voiced by a womanā¦?)!
Yamanbaā¦like Yamanbagiriās namesake. The mountain hag, right?
Yep, I was right on the money with Tazuki being Koumoto. Kamitani Tazuki, it seems his name isā¦
This dance endingās kind of cute, too. Itās a keeper!
Death March 1
(looks at title just above this dotpoint) Cāmon. Thereās no way Iām going to repeat āDeath March to the Parallel World Rhapsodyā over and over again for at least 11 or 12 episodesā¦by the way, Iām here because I was reading a KonoSuba novel and saw an ad for this, just in time for the animeā¦
āSADAā, my buttā¦
I love how they almost replicated Windows 8 in this show. Or is it 7, or 10? They donāt show the taskbar, which is the main visual difference between 8 and 10, but either way the Windows replication without being sued is really somethingā¦
This OPās gonna make me dizzy somedayā¦
Classes, eh? So that means Suzukiās working with an OOP language. Plus you can see Cortana on the computer as the mention of classes goes by, meaning that personās on Windows 10.
UML.
By the way, Satou is a fairly common name in Japanā¦at least to my knowledge. But Suzuki is a pretty common one, too, hence the mistake.
The client? Unless Suzuki is referring to the client as in the program, it could also mean the client as in the person/group who wants the game made. Considering what he says though involving a call, itās probably the latter.
Thatās the second show with a lost kid in the first episode. It seems a bit trite, donātcha think?
According to his phone map (flip phone!), heās in Akihabara.
FFLā¦eh? Google says there are multiple Final Fantasy games for Android, meaning Iāve probably thinking of Fire Emblem Fates (which doesnāt match), and thereās no such thing as Final Fantasy 50 (L in Roman numerals) yet.
Thatās the second time they mentioned work/daily life being a death march. Can we not???
Come to think of it, Suzuki looks like Nobuaki (Kingās Game), which doesnāt bode well for either show.
Apparently you can get Facebook Messenger for Windows 10, which I didnāt knowā¦
āā¦being a corporate slave.ā
Cāmon! This aināt the Animatrix, but still, if youāre trying to make stuff look technological, at least make it look a bit better.
Third time theyāve mentioned ādeath marchā.
It might just be Houseki no Kuniās fault, but this CGI is really janky.
Welllllā¦at least it looks like a game.
Welllllllllā¦at least they knew where to put their money for some sakugaā¦
This running through fields scene is either a homage to Every Anime Opening ever, or PokĆ©mon. I distinctly remember it being in Emeraldās opening animation, at least.
Dude, if you want to look for a wyvern, do it from the ground where you wonāt get injured, dumb Satoo.
Does this look a lot like Berserk (2016) with all its CGI knightsā¦or is that just me?
Zenaā¦? I might be showing how old I am with this (or how much I scour the internet), butā¦by any chance, do you mean this gal instead?
I think Iāve had enough of this flip for now, so Iām putting it on hold.

The amazing thing here is that the street crossing originates from 5 starting points and when the green light is on, the pedestrians starts crossing to the other side of the street. During rush hour period, which is around when the Japanese heads to work in the morning and in the evening when they are all rushing to head home, this pedestrian crossing is literally like a sea of humanity. There is no shoving, no shouting, no mad dash, no angry mob. Just people trying to head home safely. And thatās just how the Japanese are polite and courteous.
