(katsuki headcanon) mha season 7 ep 11 spoilers!!!

i’d like to believe that the period between jeanist checking on katsuki, his tears, and his final attack, katsuki couldn’t actually hear anything. in fact his last explosion was so big that it rendered his hearing and at that moment all he could think of was this excruciating headache, izuku and his ears ringing. that would also means he couldn’t hear jeanist approach him or stop himself from crying (to be seen being so vulnerable). Normally that slight moment of weakness observed would’ve had katsuki come to his senses, but it didn’t...for that matter he got up and told jeanist to take care of everybody. to me that seemed so rehearsed and little robotic if you will 🤷‍♀️ but also it wasn’t an actual response to jeanist’s concerns. at that moment his mind was probably capsulated by izuku, what he would do, what heroic act he would commit if faced with the exact same consequences and added with the loss of hearing he paid attention to absolutely nothing, not a single thing and like an automated response walked off into a suicide mission.

OMG OKAY OKAY this is going to be stuff ive watched but i might also throw in some shows that i get recommended a lot bc one good thing about this hellish corner of the internet is that i get BOMBARDED with great recs so here goes (i also only have a vague idea of what shows you have and haven't watched so im gonna make this a general rec list <3)

everyone is gay and named after a famous writer you have never seen edgar allen poe look THIS good. we have found family, we have chuuya nakahara, we have rivals, we have childhood friends, we have insanely clever plots that honestly leave me reeling, we have humour, we have ANGST, we have chuuya nakahara

- haikyuu

it's a classic but it's a classic FOR A REASON. binge the training camp arc you know you want to. my favourite cast of characters from ANY MEDIA EVER. i cannot put into words how much this show means to me. at this point i dont even care about the volleyball

- jujutsu kaisen

i feel like this is THE anime at the moment like it's definitely taking the baton from aot and i can see it growing HUGE in the future. it's already so big with a single season i really wouldnt be surprised if it reached mha levels of popularity. the characters and symbolism and soundtrack just make it so so so so fucking good, and it's only going to get sadder better the more they animate

i actually just watched the first ep of this. it wasn't recommended to me but i saw a clip of it months ago and have wanted to watch it ever since, and HOLY SHIT IT LOOKS SO FUCKING GOOD AND ALSO MILDLY DEVASTATING. THE FIRST EP ALONE IS SO FUCKING BRUTAL (but done in a really good way like really intense scenes with this calm music over it and i am a SUCKER for that trope). it's about all these natural disasters hitting japan and im very curious how they make 10 episodes out of that but so far it's VERY good. i can definitely see a theme of family shining through i just hope it doesn't break my heart

this looks super good and ive been recommended it quite a few times. it's got some superpower aspects i think and it's also due a second season (there's only 11 eps so far so definitely something you could just binge)

i have very little self-restraint so i'm doing three different special interests :)))

💕 i just got finished watching a couple episodes of mha and there was one (1) single frame of my baby mirio and i just......aaaaaaaa! honestly i wasn't sure what his deal was cause when he first showed up i was really behind, but when i started that first ep with him at the end of s3 i knew it was all over for me LMAO. like he is just So Good and is honestly so integral to the story beyond the shie hassaikai arc i wish he got more recognition. he's really one of the few characters left in mha who fully has the best intentions at heart and believes in what a hero should be/do instead of an idealized version of heroism. and plus, he's really cute 😌

💎 for this one i'll share a fun fact about haikyuu—so the ics logo they use for all the equipment/jackets/etc is kinda a pronunciation-based pun on how the brand asics (which is a really common brand used in irl volleyball) is pronounced in japanese. there's another part that relates to why the logo is a foot, but i'm tired and i can't quite remember what it is hldsjafldf

🎶 okay honestly i love all the black clover openings but i have such a MASSIVE beef with the actual score. like i pay way too much attention to anime scoring and some of the leitmotifs in black clover make me want to throw a chair. i will say nothing can be as bad as the db score, though naruto comes excruciatingly close. but! black clover!! god in heaven the ops are so fucking GOOD. not only do they sl a p music wise (hello, grandeur my beloved) but the actual animation that goes with them always has such incredible imagery and musicality it just makes the op 100 times better. and it utilizes one of my favorite things ever, which is ops changing as the narrative crosses certain points. like this and jojo definitely have some of the most well thought out ops i've ever seen
