Pel que fa als llibres, si vols llegir traduccions d'altres idiomes, tots els típics de novel·la negra (Jo Nesbø, Andrea Camilleri, Camilla Läckberg, Donna Leon, etc) estan publicats en català. Per novel·la negra escrita originalment en català:

what is your ranking of all the main event stories we have received so far? (as in sott, enduring light, skadi etc)

OHHHH THIS IS A FUN QUESTION, THANK YOU ANON!!! let me go from my highest to lowest.

for this question, im taking "main event stories" to mean the Big 4 SSR Events where the event story involves the entire team all at once (so no xmas events or sotn, or solo or duo events). and i will be judging these events primarily on their event story (so not as much as the gameplay, though thatll also be a factor. but i wont be judging the cards)

OH DANG WHY DID I EXPLAIN IT, THE TOT WIKI DOES A MUCH BETTER JOB AT DEFINING BIG 4 SSR EVENTS, HERE, THIS IS WHAT IM JUDGING

anyhoo, here is my personal ranking!

FIRST PLACE: Mysteries of the Lost Gold

my beloved, my favorite, my perfect shining star. lost gold was the first big event i played and it has yet to be dethroned as my favorite event story of all of tot. absolute homerun of a rich story with intrigue, high stakes, a good balance of tender moments and lighthearted ones, and just SO gripping in terms of all of the story threads coming together, plus the absolutely A+ nxx team interactions. my advice to every new player who comes into my inbox is "PLAY THE LOST GOLD DLC" because i love it so much. i will never shut up about how i love it so much. it has our very first raven!luke sighting. it has marius nearly getting stabbed. it has artem with gun. it has vyn doing that THING with the bow and arrow. LIKE. THIS EVENT IS PERFECT TO ME. it'll take something really really special to dethrone it.

SECOND PLACE: Enduring Light

this isnt recency bias speaking but my real honest thoughts: this story delighted me to no end. i was kept on the edge my seat for every single phase, and the sheer novelty of the story's setup and the gameplay was such a nice change of pace after the previous event formats started to get repetetive. i especially loved that this time, we had to suspect the nxx boys as well because that really added to my enjoyment of this event. it really felt like a mystery that had to be solved by us, and not just a mystery that will unravel by itself as long as we keep playing, if that makes sense? my point is i was immensely immersed in enduring light and i love it lots lots lots. luke looking stupendously hot in his outfit during the entire event was also a huge plus.

THIRD PLACE: a tie between Blizzardous Threads of Red & Mystery of Bakerlon

i really loved BTR and bakerlon!!! both of their murder cases were adequately thrilling for me, though towards the end i could feel the adrenaline wearing off, if that makes sense? like by the 4th phase, things were slotting together already in a way that like lowered the feeling of intrigue. also i know i said i wouldnt judge much based on gameplay, but these two deserve a shoutout for MINIGAMES I WANT TO KILL W MY BARE HANDS. bakerlon's crystal tasks were so repetetive to me, and BTR's TIMED ESCAPE ROOM THINGIES heightened my blood pressure several times HAHA

FOURTH PLACE: To My Beloved: Moonlit Eve (anniv 2)

this has a soft spot in my heart for including all of the old NPCs from main story, and that was very heartwarming. while theres no mystery that needs solving, just seeing the team hang out together and have fun together was such a treat for my soul

FIFTH PLACE: Secrets of the Tomb

sott is where i'd say the event story quality is inching towards the meh scale. the mystery here was interesting but was not particularly gripping to me. it might just be a me thing, but i enjoyed the side stories (the ones you get with the boys when you investigate the artefacts) more than the actual event story itself.

SIXTH PLACE: A Love Poem to Skadi

ahhhhh skadi. psychological and medical malpractice horrors skadi.....HJSVKHSJDFDSF. i will admit, the mystery in this story is HORRIFIC and it was enjoyable to unravel it, but here is where i break my rule again of not talking about gameplay but mAAAAAAN THE GAMEPLAY HINDERED MY ENJOYMENT OF THE MAIN PLOT LOTS. it was rather difficult for me to do all the exploration in that manor and that stalled my absorption of the story too. plus, i think the fact that the story is Over made the story have a bit of a muted quality to it. not in a bad way (i distinctly remember i wrote a semi-analysis post about how i enjoyed that the story was in the Past) but it definitely affected the mood of the gameplay, if that makes sense?

(that is the third time ive said "if that makes sense" in this response, THREE STRIKES AND YER OOOOOUT)

SEVENTH PLACE: Blissful Fete (anniv 1)

be honest with me.....do YOU remember the event story plot of blissful fete? cuz i sure dont. JVSKDHFSJDHSF. i only remember getting very very mad at luke during that fucking minigame where we guess if the card is higher or lower. that being said, if i cant even remember much of the story, then it didnt make an impact on me and couldve been improved.

Okay, look. I found your post because it was in the ToT tag, and while I agree with the sentiment, it doesn't do the movement any favors to bomb all Hoyoverse Games overall. If lay people look at the movement and don't understand why it's being bombed, then all that's been done is drive people to their fandom corners.

This happened years ago. People who were with Genshin before over the anniversary debacle a couple of years ago did it too, but nothing changed except the large amounts of hate sent to people who were Themis players.

Change may happen, but only if there's a clear and concerted effort, and if it's clear to Hoyo why games are being bombed.

To that end, if you and other readers insist on bombing other Hoyoverse games like Themis, then I hope that the critiques made (and of the low rating itself), tie itself back to Themis, rather than Genshin or HSR to make a stronger argument to the devs of the game and lay people reading the reviews.

I don't know if the development team who work on Themis also work on ZZZ, HSR, or Genshin. Maybe these games share developers. Maybe they don't.

If the developers aren't shared among the different games, then a blanket bomb with no explanation or an explanation that only relates to a different game may not be taken seriously by the dev teams for the games.

In my opinion, I think it would be easier to drive people towards the movement against colorism in Hoyoverse games, by pointing out the colorism and tying it back to the game itself. (I.e. There's colorism in this certain part of the game, and it makes me feel uncomfortable, etc.)

With a nuanced review, people could read thoughtful reviews, understand what is being protested against, and then act as a warning for people who decide to download the game. In addition, I think it would be easier to make the game developers (for their respective games) take the issue more seriously. Not to mention, having a thoughtful comment also makes it harder to flag a comment for spam.

So in the case of Tears of Themis, for a good while, people have brought up the colorism that occurs in Themis when it comes to various past events. The biggest ones being Romantic Rail Getaway, and the Secrets of the Tomb - which are inspired by real life locations.

So for further reading and research, I would recommend checking out some of these posts so that any critiques of Themis stay grounded within the game itself and in service of the bigger picture of colorism in Hoyoverse games, rather than comments and critiques blanket bombing games.

No, no, I agree! That’s what I was trying to like kinda say, or if I thought it would be obvious that when reviewing a Hoyoverse game that you should focus on the individual game issues, because all of the games have their own issues, which I have talked about before multiple times so I’m not gonna do it again cause I am TIRED BAHAHAB.

Hoyoverse as a whole has been extremely racist and colorist, so it doesn’t matter if the independent dev team who works on ToT also work on zzz, hsr, and genshin- because it is a company issue overall, and like you said ToT has had issues with colorism and racism in the past with previous events. I stopped playing ToT a long time ago, but even I know vaguely about these things because it’s just a shared fandom space across all Hyv games.

The reason for the review bombing is to stick to Hyv games, target the individual game’s problems while bringing attention to the company that this is a company wide thing, and also to lower the rating of the games overall because that is what scares Hyv. They care when their rating goes down, and when they don’t make as much money- so that’s why boycotting and review bombing are such important things to get change from Hoyoverse.

I do overall agree, we should be organized in the movement, but I’m just a one man band- so it’s hard for me to organize people on tumblr, especially because a lot of the discussion on the boycott is on Twitter. I’m mainly focusing on just informing and educating, and discussing the issues with Hyv since most of my account is based around Hyv games. I recommend looking at #HYVboycott, and following @ HYVBoycott on Twitter, just for a lot of info and their petition!!

Much lighter note. Love the feature of dressing Sherlock up in Sherlock Holmes Chapter One. I dressed him as a vampire, as red dress hat vampire makeup like the Resident Evil tall lady, ice cream man, Lucifer (the little stubble), that bohemian guy, and many times a sailor. I started Sherlock Holmes the Awakened, and NOW not only do we dress up Sherlock but we also dress up Watson. No notes. Amazing. Stunning. Iconic choice to include the dress up feature.

Its just fun dressing up characters. If a game's okay with putting the work in, its always fun. And detective and spy games have the benefit of disguise gameplay potentially which justifies adding the feature. Im a broken record comparing everything to windows XP Secret Agent Barbie but that game really imprinted in my mind what I want out of games: to be a spy/detective, to have stealth sections or little puzzles, to dress up cool and get to decide the outfits, at least a bit of a cool plot. I can trace that to liking mgs, tomb raider, assassins creed, alone in the dark, final fantasy x-2 ToT. At least Tomment and Myrcella aren't complete assholes, but still, four years on and we'll say only Joffrey and Sansa actually marry, that's still a problem if Ned suddenly whips out "I knowingly married my daughter to a bastard born of incest and who I am now deposing because he won't be a puppet king for me."

(Never mind he's giving 60% of his children to Lannister influence and we all know Tywin and Cersei would take the mile and a freaking half. (60% not 50% because Jon's joining the Night's Watch so is exempt regardless.))

Kill Littlefinger, ship Joffrey off to the Wall to die of frostbite, ship Cersei off to the Silent Sisters, spread some rumours about the Lannisters, specifically Tywin, make Tyrion Lord of Casterly Rock, arrange an "accident" for Jaime, Tyrion would probably be willing to take Tommen and Myrcella as his heirs even with their double lion heritage, call it a day.

If only he hadn't overplayed his hand last POV chapter... Oh Ned, why are you so bad at this?

I suppose though, he's really only bad in the context of everyone in the Red Keep and Southern Westerosi Politics be Corrupt AF. In a non-corrupt system he'd be fine... maybe. Personal and parental failings aside.

I really like Tears of Themis, but I’m not going to temper my anger around the politics in this game.

 Secret of the Tombs, is literally cultural appropriation the event. That’s nothing new, lots of media does it, but for a game that preaches about justice, and yet everyone is this event, is pale skinned? Give me a break. This game, who went out of their way to research interesting tidbits about the culture, created beautiful costumes, backgrounds and art for this event, somehow never encountered a person with a skin tone darker than the shade of paper in their research? That’s deliberate racism. I’m not going to defend a billionaire dollar company, that takes someone else’s culture, commodifies it to make it aesthetically pleasing and palatable for their audience, but then offer no representation in return.

 For that police officer Yehya, with that Arabic name, I can roll my eyes but essentially move on because they probably want to use that model as a reusable sprite, even though it wouldn’t be hard to create, even just a tanned sprite. But, those chibi characters when you’re exploring? Ones that are clearly meant to represent the locals given their clothing? Those, are event exclusive character models. They made those chibis with this event in mind and they made them all white (Egypt doesn’t have a racially homogenous population, so there should be a mix of varying skin tones!).

 Honestly, it’s RRG pt.1 all over again and that shit’s tiring. As a woman of colour and an avid lover of the romance genre, it’s tiring. It’s frustrating to see this kind of treatment where dark-skin is constantly associated with ‘foreignness’ and is a deviation from a white normative. I love the male leads, I love this game but I’m angry with it. Just because your initial audience might not have been aware of a certain problem in your game, does not make it any more acceptable nor is that a valid justification to continue to perpetuate that problem once you’ve been notified of it (AKA RACISM). If you’re going to transpose your game to a global server, then you have to consider the ramifications it will have on an international audience and you can’t be surprised when people get upset at you for it.

 I’m not attacking anyone’s moral compass here, you can still enjoy the game, after all, this event is just only one out of many other events Tears of Themis has in store. But this game is white washing, and I don’t want to give them a pass when they’re a multimillionaire company that I know can do better. So, maybe when a survey comes around, or if you have two minutes to spare to take it to customer service, tell them this event is racist.

Cause here’s the thing, pale skin will almost always triumph over literally any other skin tone, and everyone will always make excuses for it. But, if you can’t even show representation when the setting is literally IN THE PLACE, of where dark skinned people exist, then where else WILL you?

Hello! Do you know what the next event after Blizzardous Threads of Red is gonna be? And is there a way to find out the order of future events? Thank you in advance :D

hullo anon!!! i am not completely Sure what the next event after Blizzardous Threads of Red but my guess is that after BTR we'll get some card reruns and minigame events, and then the next card event will be the Butterfly Kisses MR Card Event for Valentine's Day season

i say guess because currently the only way to predict upcoming events for the global server is by checking what happened on the cn server at around the same time frame, last year. doing this has its caveats though, because it's been noted that the global server is kinda 'speeding up' in a sense, so it's not really a 1 to 1 "what happened in cn server january 2022 is gonna happen in global server january 2022" because sometimes some events come way earlier

for example,

Romantic Rail Getaway Part 1 happened in march 2021 for cn server, but global server got it in november 2021

Secrets of the Tomb happened in sept 2021 for cn server, but global server got it in april 2022

Dreams of Childhood happened in March 2022 for cn server, but global server got in october 2022

and most recently Artem's Blossom Personal Chapter 1 happened in feb 2022, but we got it in dec 2022

(note: there are way more events that we got earlier than expected, these were just the ones off the top of my head

all that being said though, there are some events that are "time-locked" and cant be sped up because they are required to happen at a specific date, so theyre easier to predict since they Need to happen at that time. this includes LI birthday events, anniversary events, new year events (since tot likes to have a Big event to commemorate chinese new year/lunar new year), and special days like valentine's or christmas or halloween and the such.

here’s a great excel sheet made by dailythemis on twitter that shows the calendar of past events in both the cn server and the global server. this is what i use to kinda make my own predictions, just switch through the sheet tabs and start shooting ur shot with guesses taking into account all the variables kjhvkJHVK.

but heres a summary of whats upcoming

after BTR (and btw theres gonna be a limited top-up Marius card for this event too, this was already announced in by tot eng in their event calendar for BTR, so watch out for that), some card reruns will probably happen

Butterfly Kisses MR Card Event in february for valentine's day

Vyn's Blossom Chapter 1 probably after that (actually now that i think about it, they could also put this right after BTR too if they dont wanna do reruns or a minigame)

Main Story Episode 8 probably after that

ive got the faintest hunch that theyre gonna release Cozy Couple's Getaway part 1 way earlier too, since CCG is kinda like RRG so they might keep with the tradition of bamboozling us there HAHA
