The fact that Lorna, Wanda and Pietro are on that boat alongside Rogue is EVERYTHING to me. They are the first thing he remembered!!! They are his heart, they are his anchor to humanity. Always have been in the comics, always will. I am so happy we got this version in the '97 animation as well. This scene is all I needed from the show. I am at peace. That's the best part of his soul on that boat, hope you understand.

From Avengers: Children's Crusade. This is before the dumbass retcon. They are on an adventure with Grandpa, and trust me, Max is enjoying every minute, even if they have the Avengers tailing them and no one wants them to do this - find the Scarlet Witch. I would've loved to see more interactions between him and the boys, but Marvel (comics and movies) are dumb. He may not have the greatest relationship with his kids (save maybe a somewhat ok one with Polaris), but you can tell he has tried with the grandkids... Max will NEVER win patriarch of the year awards, and he will be the first to admit it. But maybe, if given the chance, he could have been an ok grandpa.
