My students depend on food stamps to be fed and not starve. Elderly people depend on food stamps. Young people depend on food stamps. Veterans depend on food stamps. Parents, grandparents, so many people who fall under low income depend on food stamps. It’s absolutely disgusting to cause suffering to people. I’m so done with the greed of the wealthy few. The excuses, stereotypes, and prejudices of people who are poor and struggling. I barely make anything at my job, but I love my kids, so I make sure I buy them Christmas trinkets, stickers, cool pencils, valentine candy, books, snacks if they’re hungry, etc. because they need support and kindness, nurturing.
