ohladybegood replied to your post: Yes hi hello how are you doing I would also like...
OMG, Sara’s all grown up and okay with her feelings. I bet she lets Ray make her breakfast and plays MarioKart with Zari and even has plans for Valentines Day with Ava. Also Rory made her a scarf for her birthday and even if threw it at her face and said ‘here asshole’ she likes it a lot.
Rightttttt, this is all I have ever wanted for her.
She drinks Ray’s weird butter coffee and it’s - I mean it’s weird but it’s not the worst coffee she’s ever had and sometimes he looks over at her and catches her eye because the worst coffee, ever, in history, is from a diner in Hub City in 1958.
She plays video games with Zari and they learn pretty quickly that she’s not allowed to play any of the Smash Bros games because she gets too intense about it, but racing she can do. It’s - like, they should probably be the people that can just have a conversation. But for some reason Sara’s always able to talk better if she’s looking straight ahead, doing something else, and Zari doesn’t drink. Zari’s a little bit the same, it turns out, and they have some of their best talks that way.
Rory’s scarf is a little lumpy and it’s got some accidental holes but it’s warm and it’s a good colour and she’s kind of touched. She wears it under her coat on a mission in Canada in the dead of winter and Mick actually smiles, says, “Where’d you get that ugly scarf?” and she laughs at him.
(Sara has Valentine’s plans with Ava and she feels so weird about them, like she hardly even wants to breathe about the idea of Valentine’s Day because something stupid will happen and ruin it, and anyway she’ll probably screw it up somehow because she’s never been that good at feelings, so.)
(She buys Ava chocolate, the really good ones from that place she likes. They’re shaped like hearts and overpriced but totally worth it.)
(Sara’s not the best at presents; all the stuff she can think of is either too much or not enough. But she gets Ava a book of New York Times crosswords and cooks dinner in Ava’s kitchen and Ava looks so happy, the whole time.
(Nothing happens; the earth doesn’t shatter. They have a nice dinner and a little too much champagne and wine-drowsy sex and it’s really gross and romantic and Sara doesn’t tell Ava that it’s her first successful Valentine’s day but Ava holds her like she knows.)

i know she's joking in this moment but S1 Sara makes me a little emotional she has no idea what's in front of her she doesn't know how many people she's going to lose and how much she's going to love the people who come into her life she doesn't believe she's a hero and she certainly doesn't know she's going to be a Legend and what that means she doesn't know she's going to fall in love an incredible woman and make a life with her she doesn't know that she's going to lead the best bunch of human disasters with the biggest hearts in the world and that hers is the biggest heart of them all god i love her (via @ohladybegood)

Fic: Voices Carry ch. 3
Read on AO3
Read on Fanfiction.net
“Lance,” Detective Joe West began walking with her the minute she stepped out of the elevator at the police precinct, “We found another body.”
“Another Cold victim?” Sara asked, jumping into detective-mode.
“Yeah,” he answered, “but get this: it was a head shot. His whole head was just a block of ice.”
“That’s new,” Sara said with raised eyebrows.
“Yeah, no kidding. He died of asphyxiation before the frost bite got him.”
“You want me to head over to the scene?”
Joe nodded, “Allen’s already on his way over if you need a hand.”
“Got it. I’m on my way,” Sara replied, spinning on her heels and heading back towards the elevators.
She soon arrived at the crime scene — an abandoned diner that had been operating as the headquarters of a minor crime ring, the head of which was lying on the cracked linoleum floor with his head encased in ice.
“Poor guy,” Barry said, coming up to Sara with a forensic kit in his hand, “I guess he knows now what happens when you cross Captain Cold.”
“That’s what you think happened?”
“Yeah, I mean ice is his MO, and this crime ring was just starting to gain some ground. Makes sense that Cold would go after them if they’re going after his territory. It’s just a guess, but it is an educated one.”
Sara crouched down to get a closer look at the victim. His skin was purple and bloating, already in the first stages of decomposition.
“So that means when we finally catch this guy, we’ve got him on, what, sixteen counts of murder?” Sara said, standing up and walking away from the body with Barry.
“Yeah,” Barry said rather hurriedly, his eyes widening slightly, “I guess so. I’ll see you later, Sara. I gotta go, you know, process this evidence.”
He tapped the forensic kit lightly before turning towards the exit.
Sara shook her head in exasperation before going to interview witnesses.
Security cameras and facial recognition software had picked up three people that had been near the scene of the crime around the time it was being committed.
Sara crossed the concrete dock to the makeshift pavilion that had been set up for them. There were three witnesses, all of them men.
The first two were there together. They were fisherman, and had, according to them, been crossing the dock when they heard shouting coming from the diner. Sara was pretty positive neither of them had anything to do with the crime. She was even more sure that neither of them were Captain Cold.
She let them go and turned to the next and final witness. During the duration of the last witnesses’ interviews, he’d been sitting hunched over, his back to her, but he sat up when she turned to him.
“Leonard?” she said, recognition washing over her.
“Detective Lance,” he smirked, “How’s the kid.”
“Why am I not even surprised to see you here?” Sara said, narrowing her eyes.
“Because you’ve obviously looked me up and know I had a record.” Leonard knew he was right when Sara’s face fell, “You’re a cop. You’re all the same. I’m sure you know then that I haven’t been in that business for a few years.”
“Then why did we find you at the site of a murder?” Sara asked, raising her eyebrows, “and I assume it’s not because you’re a fisherman.”
“I was here for the view, believe it or not,” he replied, ignoring Sara as she rolled her eyes.
“Oh really?”
“I used to live around here. I took my sister down to the docks when she was little to look at the boats.”
“So you came here to…” Sara trailed off, waiting for him to finish the statement.
“I came here to remember my past.”
“Funny, it doesn’t sound like those were good memories.”
“Doesn’t mean they aren’t worth remembering.”
Before Sara could respond, another police officer stepped up to the pavilion.
“He can go,” the officer said, “Plausible deniability.”
“What?” Sara asked,
“We got sources placing him at a bar down the road at the estimated time of the murder, Saints and Sinners,” he turned to Leonard, “You can go.”
“See you around, Lance,” he said as he stood and turned to leave.
Leonard and Sara happened to run into each other again a few days later, when Sara was on yet another unscheduled trip to the grocery store to pick up supplies for a project Avery was doing for school.
“Mommy, look who it is!”
Avery reappeared around the corner. Behind her, she was dragging Leonard, who was doing his very best to look unfazed by what was happening
“Hi,” Sara said somewhat sympathetically, “Sorry about her.”
“How come you’re here too?” Avery asked before Leonard could reply.
“Yes why are we always running into each other?” Sara raised her eyebrows.
“A man’s gotta eat,” Leonard replied. He glanced at the bags of marshmallows Sara was holding, “I see you’ve taken a less nutritional approach to feeding your child.”
Sara rolled her eyes, “These are for a project for school.”
“We’re building bridges out of toothpicks and marshmallows and gumdrops,” Avery chirped, jabbing at the bag of marshmallows in her mom’s hand, “The one that can hold up the most marbles gets an extra snack.”
“Wow,” Leonard responded, “I thought you were in preschool.”
“My teacher said it’s never to early to learn about the effects of gravitational pull,” Avery rattled off. She looked up at Leonard, “Do you know science?”
“I suppose.”
“You wanna come help me build it?”
“Hey,” Sara said, feigning offense, “I thought I was gonna help you!”
“Yeah, but Lenny knows science,” Avery replied.
“Hey, I know science too,” she protested.
“You know how to find a dead guy, not build a bridge,” Avery said, as logistically as a four year old could.
“What makes you think I’ll be better at that than your mom?” Leonard asked, “Not that I blame you.”
He saw Sara roll her eyes.
“You just look,” she tipped her head in thought, “more science-y than she does.”
“Well,” Sara shrugged in defeat, “You’re welcome to come over, Leonard. She clearly wants your help more than mine.”
“And we’re having pizza for dinner,” Avery added, nodding knowingly. She clearly thought that pizza was a winning argument.
“And free pizza,” Sara agreed.
“If you really want my help—” Leonard began, but he was cut off as Avery threw herself at him.
“Thank you, Lenny!”
Leonard hastily lifted Avery up before she could topple over.
“You sure you want to be adding more sugar to this?” he asked Sara pointedly. She rolled her eyes yet again.
“Snart!” The voice that came from behind them was gruff, but not intimidating. They turned around and saw a burly, heavily tattooed man. Leonard’s face brightened.
“Mick!” he exclaimed. He put Avery down so he could shake the man’s hand.
“Long time no see, Leonard,” Mick said, “Been, what, five years? Must ‘a been. The last time I saw you, you were just getting out. I got out last year, good behavior an’ all.” His words came out quickly and endlessly. Even as he looked towards Sara and Avery, they didn’t stop, “Who’s this? Don’t tell me you got hitched and had a kid before I could even get out. She’s a pretty one, Snart. You got lucky. I should go, I think I’m being tailed. Don’t want to get your little family caught up in my problems. See ya, Snart.”
“Mick,” Leonard nodded at his retreating form. Mick rounded the corner and then he was gone. Sara covered Avery’s ears.
“What the hell was that?” she asked before letting her daughter go.
“An old friend. We met in juvie as teenagers. Ended up working together for a few years before we got caught. I got out before him; I guess there were no hard feelings.”
“Why didn’t you correct his comment about us being married?” Sara asked.
“Mick is not a man you want to correct, trust me,” he replied.
“But-“
“Mommy,” Avery interrupted, “Can we go now. I wanna build my bridge.”
“Yes Avie,” Sara sighed, dropping her discussion with Leonard, “We can go.”
“See you back home, Lenny,” Avery smiled cheekily.
Later, while Sara waited for the pizza to be delivered, she watched Leonard help Avery with her science project. Gumdrops, marshmallows, and toothpicks were strewn across the dining room table where they sat. He was currently explaining to her why triangles were the strongest shape.
He was remarkably good with the little girl, he had Avery hanging onto every word.
When the pizza arrived, they took a break and cleared off three places at the dining room table. Avery could barely get a bite of pizza in through her excited words.
“— and then Lenny showed me how triangles with gumdrops are stronger than the marshmallow ones ‘cause they’re not as squishy, and I know Mia and Kyle are only using marshmallows because they taste better so my bridge is definitely gonna have more marbles than theirs.  Are you done eating yet, Lenny?”
“Honey, no, he’s not done eating yet, but you haven’t even started,” Sara chastised, pointing to Avery’s untouched plate, “Park your butt in that chair and start eating.”
Avery’s smile didn’t fade as she complied. The flow of words didn’t stop either, the only difference being the occasional pause for swallowing.
Leonard stayed for another hour, until Avery’s bridge was complete and resting safely in an old shoebox.
Thanks for helping me Lenny!” Avery said, hugging his legs.
“No problem kid,” he replied. Avery turned to Sara.
“Can I show Lenny my poem before he goes?” Avery asked.
“Sure, honey,” Sara replied. Avery ran back into her room to retrieve the poem.
“Is this something I should have an explanation for before watching?” Leonard asked.
“Her preschool is having a celebration for Father’s Day this Friday. Each class is showing something and hers reciting poem.”
“Ah,” Leonard replied as Avery ran back into the living room, now holding a slightly crumbled piece of paper in in one hand.
She stood in front of Leonard and Sara and theatrically cleared her throat.
“Daddy, I love you, for all that you do,
“I’ll kiss you and hug you ‘cause you love me too,”
While the words coming out of her mouth were sweet, the monotone they were taking form in dampened the effect slightly.
“You feed me and need me to teach you to play,
“So smile ‘cause I love you on this father’s day.”
When she was finished, she lowered the paper and looked to Sara and Leonard expectantly.
“Wow, that’s,” finally, Sara said,“great, honey. Maybe next time a little bit…less like a robot. Put a bit more feeling into it.”
“How am I supposed to put feeling into it when I dunno what having a dad feels like?” Avery asked, staring at her mother with wide eyes.
“I don’t know, just pretend.”
Avery’s face brightened, “I can do that! I pretend I have a dad all the time!”
“Great,” Sara grumbled as Avery bounded into her bedroom.
“Ouch,” Leonard said, “That can’t feel good.”
“It’s fine,” she replied. Leonard tried to to ignore the sadness in her eyes, “Thanks for helping Avery, but I gotta put her to bed.”
“See you around, Lance,” he said, turning towards the door.
“You too, Snart.”
A few days later, there was a quiet knocking on the door. Leonard opened it and immediately looked down to see Avery.
“Kid,” he said, “What’ll it be today.”
“My bridge won,” she smiled, “It held fifty two marbles and I got extra cookies at snack.”
“Congrats,” he replied.
“It’s ‘cos you helped me,” Avery nodded, “Thank you.”
She stepped forwards and wrapped her arms around him.
“Alright, enough with the hugging,” Leonard said, detaching Avery from his legs. He took her hand and led her back to her own apartment.
“I caught an Avery,” he said when he saw Sara.
“Thanks Len,” she said gratefully, “Ave, what’d I say about doing that?”
But Avery was already gone, bounding into her bedroom.
“How was the Father’s Day festivities?” Leonard asked Sara, “That was today, right?”
Sara shrugged, leaning against the back of a chair.
“It could have been worse,” she said, “She just doesn’t get it. I don’t think she even realized that there’s something wrong with her family situation until she started preschool—”
“There’s nothing wrong with her family situation,” Leonard insisted, causing Sara to stop mid-sentence, “It’s just different.”
“That’s what I tell her when she asks,” Sara replied, “and I don’t think she really notices most of the time. It’s just more obvious, I guess, around Father’s Day.”
Leonard nodded.
“Mommy,” Avery called from her bedroom, “I need my ballet shoes!”
“I’ll let you go,” Leonard said.
The last thing he saw before he turned to leave was Sara’s sad smile and he swore to himself he’d never let Sara look that sad again.

Yes hi hello how are you doing I would also like to talk about Sara learning to be taken care of please.
Yes thank you for coming to my TEDtalk i feel so so strongly about thissss like. I just - approximately twice per season I just sit and think about the journey of Sara from Arrow canon to Legends, and am filled with feelings about it. This BABY KID like she has not taken a nap since 2007, and now she’s mostly happy and doesn’t feel like a monster who’s only good for murder and she has a TIME FAMILY and a VERY CONFUSING FLIRTATIOUS RELATIONSHIP WITH HER SHIP’S AI and she’s a CAPTAIN and she’s finally found her feet as a grown human being and I just get real, real soft about it. Like. In a way, that in itself counts as a happy ending when you think about the place she started.
(even just the journey from s1 to s3, like!!!)
(remember when she was 200% chill about killing martin because it made the most strategic sense and it was a HUGE CHARACTER MOMENT when she didn’t?)
(remember that episode in S2 where she was getting to know Amaya and just real subtly tried to make small talk to see if her approach to avenging her dead boyfriend was like…murder? because i’m never going to stop laughing about it that was the best ever)
(remember when she was all, feelings are the worst and i refuse to have them)
(anyway now she has 47 baby time siblings and friends and they’re her fAMILY and she’s willing to admit it and have dumb family dinners and a chore wheel  and that’s honestly So Much, like. All of these goofballs are better together.)
And now that I’m rewatching S3, I think Sara definitely thinks about Ava, romantic-stylez, before she talks about it. Pre-Beebo Day, it has definitely occurred to her that she wouldn’t kick Ava out of bed and that maybe she’s sort of not unhot.
But okay. Ava isn’t unhot and there’s this 40 second flicker of vulnerability that Sara gives her and she’s so upset over Martin and she’s lost so much and she’s so aware of how much she cares about her people and that weird blend of Feelings She’s Gonna Deal With Later Probably Over Bourbon is just making her soft.
So maybe she lets herself like. Think about it. About what it would be like to have a Somebody.
And how Ava wouldn’t be the worst somebody; she knows about time travel and she can handle herself in the field and she can put up with the Legends and - hypothetically.
If Sara were interested, which she’s not, it’s just this nice thing to think about from time to time.
(At some point, also, can we discuss how the time that elapses between the beginning of Beebo Day with everyone’s super fresh grief and the end of whatever ep involves Sara and John 69ing in ‘69 is like 48 hours tops because OH MY GOD. THESE KIDS DESERVE SUCH A BREAK)
And I think that some of Sara learning to be taken care of, at least from an Avalance perspective, is those conversations she has with Leo and with Zari about how Ava liiikes herrrrrr. The fact that they’re encouraging her to go for it and not warning her off for Ava’s sake.
(I also have like, 40203480248 feelings about Sara learning to be taken care of in the context of a relationship, and with her team, and honestly there’s a whole fic meme just in that.)
(I love her so much she’s the best.)

Can I just say I love your stuff so much but I legit died when I saw the tag sara lance: murder marshmallow like you really just picked up the essence of her character and put it in a jar and sold it as a scented candle and it was a miraculous work of genius and thank you for sharing
Hahahaha oh my god this comment is brilliant, I love it. Thank you so much for appreciating my tag, I am very proud of it. It feels really great to hear that you agree with my take on Sara - I love her particular blend of soft-yet-stabby so, so much.

Rewatching Legends and holy shit I forgot how much Sara hurts me. I'm so proud of how far she's come but my heart physically hurts rn
Rightttttttt. Vintage Sara is such a ride; every so often I get in a Mood and need to watch old eps of Arrow and I just get so Upset at how much she had to go through. Like, she’s so tough??? And so strong and brave and clearly hurting so much in Legends S1, to get from there to a happy captain with a time family CAN YOU JUST.
(Where are you at?)
(S2 actually gets me the most when it comes to Sara feelings, like in S1 I can at least handwave it because everyone is So Dramatic and so in their own stuff, but S2 is when we actually see her try to lead and work through her stuff and she’s so raw over Laurel and so conflicted and it’s just. ::chef finger kiss:: Painful.)

do you ever just compare the Captain Sara Lance we see now to the young (gosh she was so young) happy-go-lucky Sara from before the Gambit and just want to cry?
OK so yes and no. You are catching me at a perfect feelings time because of course I am the kind of nerd who was full of Sara feelings this week and went to watch some old Arrow episodes to just really experience my pain.
Because yes, Sara was more innocent before the Gambit, but also - I was thinking back over her history, because remember how she’s never been happier than when she was dating Ava for 3 weeks REMEMBER THAT. And even when she was with Oliver on the Gambit, she was also kind of in a place emotionally where secretly hooking up with her big sister’s serious boyfriend seemed like the choice she needed to make. And like, Arrow is pretty thin on the psychology of pre-Gambit Sara but I think she maybe struggled a lot with being in Laurel’s shadow and figuring out who she was, so idk if happy-go-lucky really fits.
(I mean, compared to League Sara or S2 Arrow Sara yes, she is an innocent cupcake covered in adorable fluffy frosting. I still get upset over how much trauma they crammed into her backstory, poor kid could not catch a break.)
I think what I love about her though is like - yes she had this awful journey into darkness from the Gambit to Arrow. And sometimes, if I’m in the mood, I like daydreaming what kind of life Sara would have had if the Gambit had never happened, because gosh she would have been such a different person.
But at the same time, she got to have this beautiful recovery journey that I think is actually really rare and special - like sometimes thinking about the transformation from post-resurrection Sara to now I just get so full-hearted??? She’s worked so hard and she’s gone from thinking she’s only good for murder and drinking alone in Tibet to having friends and a time family and allowing people to rely on her and relying on them in return. And I think that’s actually really gorgeous. Sara being strong and generous in spite of all of her trauma rather than only being able to be kind because of the absence of it, I think it’s beautiful and it makes me really, really happy.

I love hearing your thoughts on any and all things, but here is my top 3 Wishlist of Things J. Would Talk About Extensively: -how insecure they both were??? Ava just automatically assuming she’d been ditched and (OF COURSE) Sara’s worry about never being normal? ?? ???? Please kill me -Gary (I have such feelings for Gary I love him so much) -Wally and Rip 🙌 (Bonus #4: Mick’s pure love for Amaya) So there you go
Oh my gosh I have so many feelings about allll of these but I started writing about the Sara and Ava part of it and everything got away from me so that is what you’re getting.
Like ok ok I just. I am so proud of myself first of all, because this is literally the exact episode I predicted once the promo photos came out and it pings so many of my favourite tropes. Like, attempt at a normal date gets interrupted by nonsense pirates from the dawn of time?? WHAT A GIFT.
I also loved the way that it happened so, so much. Like I am - it may have come up - super protective of Sara and her past and I love the way that she gets to be the sum of her parts and actually experience the weight of her Tragic Backstory on Legends. I love the strength of her but also the fragility of her. Like, this gifset just came across my dash and I can’t even reblog it because it is the most painful thing to think abt for too long but it’s also so true? This amazing superhero who can fight aliens and save the universe and care so fiercely for her team of sweet misfits, but can’t quite do the same for herself.
You can’t see the hearts in my eyes but trust me: they’re there.
The show has touched on this a bit but there’s a lot of atonement in the work Sara is doing with the Legends. Like maybe if she can protect time hard enough and love her crew well enough and protect them enough she’ll make up for her past, a little.
And I love that the show didn’t shy away from how hard it must have been for Sara, with all of that baggage, to put on a dress and go to a fancy restaurant and put herself out there for a woman in a real, genuine, emotionally-vulnerable way.
(I know I know, she has a hookup in every decade and I love her for that, but you’ve got to admit that fingerbanging the Queen of France in a flurry of torrid giggles is hardly putting herself out there, emotionally.)
(And women are tricky ok.)
But I think also - like there is the Sara that everyone around her sees, and then there is the Sara you get from reading her dossier, and then there is the third Sara, the secret one who still can’t forgive herself for sins from almost ten years ago and doesn’t think she’s worthy of a normal sort of love but wants it, so badly that it hurts to even think about. So of course she thinks that Ava wants the Sara on the surface, the one who seems mostly normal but has this weird life, the one who agrees to go on a date and picks a classy place because whatever, she can be classy sometimes.
(I still maintain that she decided on that place on a past recommendation from Laurel, and just try not to think abt how much Sara wanted to call her sister to ask for advice I dare you.)
But also these two idiots in like with each other! I saw a post talking about how lovely it was that the date was actually going well before all the stuff happened, how nice it was that they could just talk and I feel that so much because yes! They like each other and genuinely want to get to know each other and they do have all these uncharted waters and things to discover about each other! Both of them really enjoy that!
(But like, Sara getting that call from Gideon being like BTW JUST FYI EVERYTHING IS ON FIRE HAVE FUN ON UR DATE :D :D and ignoring it. Trying to prioritize her personal life and not really knowing how but wanting to do what she thought Ava wanted, my heart.)
The episode also did such a great job of capturing that blindness that comes from really super liking somebody - like the more invested you are in them liking you back, the harder it is to understand any of their signals and Ava and Sara have it SO HARD.
Ava who shows up looking gorgeous and all she can think about is that she feels dumb and probably looks dumb and has dumb hair and god, Sara is so much hotter than her, this was a horrible idea. (That moment when she actually says it, my heart, these idiots are mfeo.)
Sara who wore nylons and heels for this, why on earth did she ever decide to do that, and Ava looks way too good for her, this was a horrible idea, how did she think she could somehow convince Ava that it’d be a good idea to date her.
These two mutually but privately panicking that work is gonna ruin everything, and then trying to deal with it the way they thought the other wanted without actually communicating and it blowing up on both of them.
And this is a trope that I usually hate because look you are grownups just talk to each other but they did, so quickly, that it made it okay for me.
Ava communicating that she was livid as soon as possible and Sara realizing her mistake but interpreting it incorrectly - Sara thinking that Ava was mad that she left because she had an emergency with her team, Ava just mad because she dressed up real nice and Sara left and it hurt her feelings to not get the chance to say goodbye or finish their date.
THESE IDIOTS.
But also Sara, who hasn’t met a feeling she didn’t want to stab immediately, doing her best?? Even if doing her best is kind of yelling at Ava that she’s a big weirdo and she’s always gonna be SUPER WEIRD and Ava had better deal with that??? I LOVE ONE (1) SUPERHERO.
I juuuust am gonna be spinning in my chair having feelings over this for a good long while. It was such a lovely perfect first real date for Sara, and Ava likes Sara so earnestly that it gets me in all of my feelings places.

oh wow, I'd dig hearing anything you want to share about your nonbinary sin headcanon...
Oh gosh anon, thank you so much for asking. I’m cis, so if I am misspeaking or making mistakes while talking abt my headcanons PLEASE let me know, your comments in your second message were so kind & meant a lot.
+
IDK, Sin’s gender expression and like, general vibe have always made me think abt gender and I don’t really know how to describe it without like, parsing canon for ~evidence~ in a way that feels kind of objectifying, so I won’t do that? But like: they’re nonbinary, and I know their pronouns on the show are she/her but I like to think that after Sara disappears at the end of S2, Sin starts changing it to they/them.
(Is this show gonna contradict me? The Arrow wiki page tells me that Sin, who in canon is Sara’s found younger sibling, never found out about her death, so I’m gonna go with: who cares what the show thinks.)
And mostly I think abt this in relation to Sin’s friendship with Sara because Sara is one of those friends who, once you’re at the tier of “friend,” you are ride-or-die there for life (for definitions of ride-or-die that include randomly disappearing for months at a time) and I find them so sweet together??
But also like, Sara coming back & Sin comes out to Sara and she is immediately The Most Supportive Mom Friend Who Also Stabs People. Like, that person at the party keeps misgendering Sin, do they want Sara to threaten them a lil bit because she will ok. Is Sin sure that Sara can’t do some really light intimidating, no knives, she promises.
(And like, no, let’s all try not stabbing, you dork, but also sometimes when Sin’s having a shit day they think about Sara in her dumb Canary getup, standing in the shadows threatening transphobes with a long monologue on the spectrum of gender identity and gender expression and why it’s important to respect people’s pronouns or else they’ll have failed this city and it just makes them feel all warm inside.)
Sin whose medical stuff is none of Sara’s business unless they want it to be but if they ever needed anything like that she’ll get her dumb rich friend Oliver Queen to pay for stuff ok? OK.
But also just these two in their shared scruffy apartment in the Glades (when is this in canon? Who can say, maybe after Sara comes back to life in S4) with their shared collection of men’s flannels and skinny jeans. Sin teaching Sara abt how skinny jeans from the mens’ section have way bigger pockets & it is a revelation, she can fit so many more knives in there. Sin making art & Sara sharpening her knife collection but also sometimes making art, she does these little watercolour sketches of the Starling skyline that are actually really good. These two talking about girls and how family is weird and just like, supporting the fuck out of each other, is the show that I not-so-secretly want to watch.

Please feel free to go into excruciating detail about ALL the bb!vigilante Sara Lance feels. And all her quality Looks in that season.
Ughhhhh I WAS DOING ALRIGHT WITH IT and then I hit Heir to the Demon and that’s it, I’m toast.
Like FIRST OF ALL can we talk about Sara and Sin because the more I watch this show the more I feel v strongly about these two as queer besties who are both semi-homeless semi-disasters but super care about each other when it counts? Like fucking SIN BRINGING SARA BREAKFAST and sure it’s cheeseburgers and sure Sin’s teasing Sara about how emo she is but that’s what friends are for, ok.
And then, like, I’m just repressing Sara & Ivo on the island, every time I watch it i get angrier that someone on the show wrote that SHE WAS SO YOUNG OKAY, goddamn.
Also also NYSSA and like, on some levels that relationship can never not be fucked up because of all the murder but also these two warriors who are so in love??? Like, Nyssa travels across the world to do assassin justice and then she gets one look at Sara’s cute face and she just folds, what a gay marshmallow, I am dying. This whole episode is one of those ones where like - remember on Livejournal, before gifs were invented, when we had to screencap things uphill in the snow and talk about them? That is what I want to do with Heir to the Demon, there are too many tender microexpressions and I want to discuss them all.
Also also also Sara in her excellent selection of Weekend Vigilante long-sleeved shirts, bless the wardrobe department for this one thing but never the canary suit.
