My parents are from Rawalpindi in Pakistan but my dad and his family also grew up in the UK and Nigeria

Pakistan is stunning and while i would love to visit and breathe it in again, i don't think I'd want to move back because i wouldnt have the same opportunities there as i do now.

I can speak urdu, english, and punjabi... french is so and so..

I actually don't watch alot of bollywood movies but i really loved 3 idiots and Ae Dil he Mushkil... that one ruined me real good.

Also non desis assume all brown people are indian so they get very confused when i tell them i'm pakistani. Also they think Karachi is the capital of Pakistan. Like. They insist on it. Idk why.

favorite:  i think our culture and traditions are so beautiful. we have such rich history and being part of something so colourful and vast is so enchanting. our architecture style is one of the best and our food is amazing. we have such an instilled sense of respect for our parents and for others in general. our music!!! our wedding culture is the greatest thing ever and wedding season is the best time of year. we have a very strong sense of family and our hospitality is always woowww. theres just something so warm and comfortable being surrounded by other brown people. 

least favorite:  the level of hypocrisy and bigotry present in our community. the casual racism. the colourism that unfortunately always seems to come from within the family. how desi women must be the most talented, beautiful, smart, yet humble, respectful young girl to be appreciated but desi men need to only know how to count to ten at most. the judgement in terms of religion. the obsession with excelling at education and how if you dont you’ll end up a janitor?? thats unhealthy. also maybe the guilt tripping thing desi immigrant parents pull on their kids is horrific.

Both Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt have been riding high on success now. Last release of Salman Khan has been Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat which has been a massive blockbuster. On the other, Alia has been featured last in Ranveer Singh starrer Gully Boy. For the character of Safeena Ahmed in Gully Boy, Alia has received a lot of praise also. Right now, she has been shooting for Sadak 2. Therefore, it has been a treat to fans when it is heard that Salman and Alia have been coming together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next.

Since the announcement of movie in media, people are quite excited to know more about it. Recently, Salman has disappointed us a little with his tweet. Previously, it has been announced that Inshallah will be releasing on Eid, 2020. However, Bharat actor has informed us through Twitter recently that the movie will be delayed now.

Kadar Khan Veteran actor dies in Toronto.

Veteran comedian,actor Kader Khan died after a prolonged illness at a hospital in Toronto in Canada, a family member said here on Tuesday. Kader, 81, is survived by his wife Hajra, son Sarfaraz, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. According to Ahmed Khan, a close relative, he passed away around 4 a.m. (IST). He added that the last rites will be held in a Toronto cemetery later in the day. Reported to be critical and on a ventilator, rumours of Kader’s demise had been doing the rounds on social networks and some media outlets (not IANS), since the past five days, which left the family and other relatives traumatised. He spent nearly four months in hospital, for various old-age related ailments including breathing issues and finally succumbed on December 31 evening (Toronto time). Born on October 22, 1937 in Kabul, Afghanistan, to a Pashtun family, Kader Khan was educated in a municipal school and later graduated from Mumbai’s Ismail Yusuf College, Jogeshwari, a government-run institution. An avid reader and a film-buff, he had a huge collection of books on various subjects related to film-making, acting, screenplay writing, penning story-dialogues and other departments, and had a mastery over Urdu. Starting with his first film as an actor in “Daag”, (1973), over the next 35 years he went on to act in over 300 films in memorable roles, and also wrote the story or dialogues for more than 250 films in Hindi and Urdu, starting with “Roti” (1974).
