My Fantasy Emmy Awards
I didn’t realize it until I was actually making my dream Emmy nominee list, but most of my picks might actually do better at the Sci Fi awards.
Drama
The drama category for me would be mostly dominated by Stranger Things. I’d pick Millie Bobby Brown for best actress, Sadie Sink for supporting actress, and Jamie Campbell Bower for supporting actor. I’d also give Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Joseph Quinn nominations for supporting actor.
For best actor in a drama, I’d pick Tyler Hoechlin from Superman and Lois. Alot of people, including Emmy voters, might think this show is not worthy of recognition because it is a superhero show on the CW. Tyler has flawlessly played Clark Kent/Superman since day one, and then he added his wonderful performance as bizarro Superman to his repertoire. The man deserves recognition.
Limited Series
For me, this category mostly belongs to Midnight Mass. Hamish Linklater’s performance easily should have gotten him a nomination for best actor, and for me he is the winner. Supporting actor is a toss up between Zach Gilford and Rahul Kohli. Samantha Sloyan is my pick for supporting actress.
Vivien Lyra Blair for Obi-Wan Kenobi is my pick for best actress. I would also give Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, and Moses Ingram nominations for their performances in that show.
Comedy
I don’t have any strong opinions for comedy nominees. In past years, I would have nominated Iain Armitage from Young Sheldon as best actor, but I feel like, despite being the title character, they haven’t given him as much to do this year. Raegan Revord, also from Young Sheldon, has gotten a chance to show her acting chops this year though, so I might nominate her for support actress.
So, aside from so many of my picks being Sci Fi/fantasy, I also didn’t realize until I was making this list that, between Stranger Things, Young Sheldon, and Vivien Lyra Blair, many of my nominees are very young.
Anyway, that is who I choose.
