In the right-left-newage example in your video you depicted the scenario as a sort of stalemate. How might one, in the context of the US in particular, help in that scenario to push for the leftist side with minimal rightwing backlash? I was thinking of doing more "behind the scenes" propaganda and political work, but I can't even begin to imagine what that would look like. I have done a lot of research into the origins of the modern American right. I want to be a countering force. Any thoughts?

well it comes down to the kind of processes i described in the video- reaching out to dissatisfied people on the right and plausibly making the argument that by joining the left, they can better address their needs both on a social scale and a personal scale- for example reaching out to lgbt people who are trapped in right-wing social settings, and helping them both escape family abuse and mobilize with other lgbt people for their rights has been a very significant way that the left has both been able to grow and to tangibly help peoples lives.

too often when people try to appeal to people across the aisle they think in terms of what the people who are across the aisle and are happy there would find appealing, and make too many concessions for a group of people who aren’t going to cross over anyways. tap into existing discontent.

Also, be on the lookout for groups which attempt to market to left-leaning people then re-condition them toward right-wing ideology once they’re ensnared. point out the behind the scenes connections that reveal that intention, like MIRI’s Thiel funding. and then of course, people within the group the right-wing cult are attempting to prey on can be mobilized toward opposing right-wing incursion, and thus shifting that social group leftward, for example look at how opposition to right-wing incursion into the Odinist scene helped to mobilize leftist in that scene. don’t just oppose right-wing incursion into a group from the outside, work with the people within that group who already oppose that incursion.

that’s good to do but if your entire political project, of necessity, has to be completely anonymous it’s impossible to build organisational power. there need to be public organisations who talk about the social problems this kind of work is responding to, or else your silence allows liberals and ideologues of capital to fill in the gaps and completely discredit you to the working class. this is why building dual power is so important - it allows our organisations to build credibility among the class, and brings them on board. without that we’re a handful of secret adventurers - not revolutionaries.

Back 5-6 years ago, I was horribly depressed because I couldn’t get into the vocational school class I really wanted and the class that I did end up going to (it was essentially a filler school year for people who either didn’t know what to do with themselves after middle school or just couldn’t get into the schools they wanted) made things just the slightest bit worse. My ex was the one that introduced me to the website, so I was a bit familiar with it when I ended up making a blog in hopes of being able to socialize a bit more and get myself out there, y’know? Find stuff to reblog between classes and everything.

That kinda made me realize how big the furry community here is and I decided to really stick around, especially after I made a conscious decision to start putting actual effort and time into getting good with art
