i’ve got this picture of Yutu being kind of artsy from your description. besides, being an outcast probably means a lot of solo hobbies from no friends. maybe a bonding method for Yutus with a father that is more artistic 👉👈

You have such a good point about being an outcast driving people towards solo hobbies σ(￣、￣=) certain Yutus are more outgoing than others but that does only get you so far.  Of the ones I have written about, Floyd! and Cater! Yutu both had friend circles before coming to Twisted Wonderland, while Ace!, Azul!, and Riddle! Yutu were certifiably friendless.  Bonding between Yutu and a more artistic dad hmmmmm let's see...

Vil! Yutu

... really likes to paint and draw, when I first wrote about him his unique magic involved temporarily bringing his paintings to life.  My brother used to dig through old fashion mags when he was teaching himself to draw and I can see Yutu doing the same.  So when he finally gets to see a not tortured version of his father and finds out he is a model on top of being an actor?  He's so eager to learn about all of it, and Vil has got to be thrilled to share.  You know between him and his own dad Vil has got to have a nice collection of vintage designer items he's willing to let Yutu have a look at.  Yutu has drawn his dad a lot, receiving a drawing someone has made for you is already beyond flattering, but when it's from a family member?  Forget the fridge, Vil is getting this framed.  I can also see him maybe commissioning Yutu because he wants to make sure he never under sells his work.  He is a member of the Schoenheit family, he is allowed, nay required to have a great deal of pride in himself.

Cater! Yutu

... likes playing guitar and he loves playing with his dad.  He's not really interested in playing with the other pop music club members, Yutu is a bit shy around his dad's friends.  When he's stressed he likes to play a few songs and sing, something I could see working for Cater too.  While I'm talking about Cater, I don't think he'd make a bunch of magicam posts about his family, just in general.  He uses magicam as a way of maintaining his false happy facade, his want to date Vil comes at least partially from his presence on magicam, some of his real self is on display there sure but a lot of it is exaggerated and fake.  When he has something real he wants to keep it away from the rest of the world, so while his followers absolutely are told he's #taken #blessed they don't know about the details of his relationship.  At least not if it's a healthy one.

Jade! Yutu

... is someone I haven't written about before but he is also very into music, just not jazz music.  Not that he hates jazz, he's just stuck in that teenage phase of refusing to admit the things his dad likes are cool, something Jade reasonably “sniffles” about but that's not to say music isn't a bonding point for them.  He also plays bass, just an electric not an upright one, and Jade enjoys listening to Yutu play.  He's very supportive and surprisingly soft in his praise for someone who just got done listening to his kid scream out a punk rock song.  As long as Yutu is willing to do some hiking with him (which he is) then he has no real problem with what his kid likes, if anything I can see Jade enjoying their differences.  Life is boring if everyone is the same.

Rook! Yutu

I've been thinking about Rook, just as a character recently and one of those things that's been stuck in my mind is that he was very shy as a child.  To keep this from becoming just general information about Rook! Yutu, unlike his father Yutu never got over his shyness, so a lot of their bonding revolves around Rook encouraging Yutu to see the beauty in himself.  He books tickets to shows, symphonies, and ballets in advance so he can make sure Yutu knows when they are going out and can prepare himself to be seen in public.  They plan their outfits together in advance, look up information about the company and what they are going to see so they can appreciate the art just that much more.  On the day of Rook makes sure to kiss Yuu goodbye,  and promises to come home safe.  But not to worry, he always has Yutu help him pick out a bouquet of flowers to bring back for you.  (Unless you're allergic to pollen in which case he'll bring home something else.)

WALL-BREAKER - GRIMM'S 200 POST EXTRAVAGANZA!

Hallow one and all! It seems like only yesterday I hit one hundred posts and made some art for the occasion of my golden girl, Sketchit. But now, a new milestone has been hit. I'd like to take this occasion to share with all of you the Tumbal Retake, news for the blog, special thanks, and of course. . .

WALL-BREAKER

Wall of Text Below:

Firstly, I'd like to take the time to detail Tumbal's backstory has I have not delved into it all that much on the Blog. The story starts with a pre-Secret Boss Tumbal as an optimistic actor ready to put their best foot, or root in this case, forward. He eventually got a role as an Outlaw in a western, which was the first project that good ol' Mr. Rook Action was directing. All went well until the day of shooting, where a freak accident occurred. Tumbal was shot with what the crew thought was a prop gun. As the shot rang out through the set, the cast and crew ran out, ignoring the body of Tumbal in the process. That is where he found himself, a bullet through his heart on his deathbed with no one to remember his legacy. . .Until a figure appeared to Tumbal. He told him that his time was not over just yet, as well as a new way of seeing the world, as a performance put on to entertain the higher beings. . .After that, Tumbal was left alone in that set for years, rotting into what he is today. He now uses any props he can scavenge as puppets to lure in Darkners to make friends with them, before brutally tearing them apart. This is the state The Fun Gang finds Tumbal in on their journey through Homewood. . .

Secondly, as I did with Sketchit, I'd like to explain how WALL-BREAKER would sound as a song. Of course, the song would use motifs from Battle Against a True Hero and Your Best Nightmare as well as using the Freedom Motif. The song would have a very frantic feel to it, shown through the pacing and use of the instruments. Throughout the song, some sort of banjo or guitar would be played over the track, being used for the beginning and even the Freedom Motif. The song would also reference the lietmotifs of Tenna and Rook's battle themes, in reference to his backstory. Near the end, the song would basically go insane and lose all rhyme or reason and eventually end with the sound of the banjo used in the song being smashed to pieces as an ominous voice laughs in the distance.

Next, I would like to discuss a few posts that will be made in the near future and changes to a few of my Secret Bosses. Firstly, Pocket Sand will be continuing containing the one and only Rouxls Kaard as well as Sketchit! This will be out around next week, or whenever I have time to write it. Secondly, I will be moving a few of my bosses to a group I like to call the Misfits. These bosses are ones that are basically the only part of their AUs, which will include people such as Funn N. Gaems, Fredde-E, Rustflare, Inkwel, and the other Chapter Three Secret Boss takes I made that one time. This will not mean that they will disappear, only that they have a new group name and could potentially be moved out of The Misfits if I find their stories interesting. . . Thirdly, as always, The Ask Box is wide open for anyone to throw questions, suggestions, or anything else at my characters and myself. You can literally ask any of my Deltarune based characters. The sky's the limit.

Finally, I want to give a huge round of applause to all of the people who have helped me along my journey as an artist and as a member of the Secret Boss Fandom. @mercair , you bring so many wonderful ideas and designs to the table and your characters are always a delight to draw and design for. Rest assured, you're not getting rid of my System or our nonsense at your expense any time soon. @creepa-b0t-inc , you have been an amazing part of this community, working on so many amazing projects yet still finding time to help smaller creators, such as myself. I am so glad that I know someone such as yourself and it's been amazing knowing you. @glitch-the-artist , you are an amazing traditional artist that I have adored for so long. Your work and dedication to your craft has inspired my own work and my own aspirations to get better at art. @almightyaxolotlz , I want to give you the most sincere "thank you" I could possibly muster up for being the voice of Sketchit. Thank you so much for caring about this character as much as you do and not letting Chapter X fall to the wayside. @mrchaosman , you have so much potential and so many great ideas. You're honestly an unsung hero of the community and you deserve a lot more respect for the dedication you bring to the Secret Boss Community. @petra-creat0r , you're one of the most talented artists I know and never fail to bring a sincere smile to my face. Your love for your characters and this community is inspiring and I can't wait to see what you do next. Any to everyone I did not mention, I just want to say, thank you. Thank you for inspiring me to continue being a member of this community and for allowing me to get where I am now. Thank you so much, all of you. Twst Actor Au (Behind the scenes) #2

Book 4

Crowley wore his vacation dip for the whole season.

Kalim stole Grim to pet evilly while looking hypnotized.

Yuu crossed their eyes at Jamil hypnotizing them.

Yuu yelled after being locked in the space bedroom, "I'm going to piss in the corner!" Sadly the line wasn't added to the show.

Kalim spun around for his unique magic and tripped and fell into the oasis.

Jade and Floyd had fun with the fight scene with Scarabia students.

Floyd's deep voice was real, he does voice acting sometimes. The actors' reactions were funny.

Yuu looked at Overblot Jamil and said, "Snek."

Yuu handed Grim to Jamil to throw because he can't actually throw everyone. Threw the plushie at Azul.

Yuu, Kalim and Azul of course weren't riding the eels and just padded props which led Yuu and Kalim acting like cowboys.

Ace tripped and pulled Deuce down with him. They were actually running on sand.

Book 5

Yuu said Rook's album was of his victims and Rook just winked at them.

Ace and Deuce instantly cuddled Grim after Vil left the kitchen.

Even the actor of Kalim said, "this kid needs therapy."

Epel threw Grim at Vil's face, then ran off.

Deuce and Epel had fun yelling random stuff at the ocean.

When Vil asked if Neige is alone, Neige's response was "well, beside the dead body in my room, yes."

Yuu whispered under their breath at seeing Overblot Vil, "I think I'm gay now."

Vil had to walk down the hallway like a runway in overblot form with the group saying "yes queen."

Rook fell off of the magic carpet.

Someone in the staff played a really cool song when Malleus was fixing the stage. The unedited version has their laughers.

Yuu actually teared up at Grim attacking the Mc. Hugged the plushie afterwards.

Book 6

Epel, Ace and Deuce was handed a bowl of popcorn by Sam before the first fight scene with the Charon.

Deuce kept on laughing because of Ace while they were suppose to be pretending to be knocked out.

Riddle accidentally hit someone in the stomach when moving away from Leona. He immediately apologized and felt bad.

Yuu fell off the broom twice.

Grim's voice actor was genuinely upset when Grim wakes up in Land of Grief.

Pretending to be defeated by the Charon, the group were encouraged to fall on the ground dramatically. Yuu and Epel did it perfectly.

Sebek joked about his character making a hole through Lilia's door after Malleus disappears. The director was tempted.

The Styx staff member in the glass coffin made an earth shaking snooze as a joke.

Everyone was excited to see Idia's overblot form since they would see it when their characters see it as a dramatic reveal.

Everyone got scared at the Titans because the staff were playing the Titan sounds behind the camera and the actors got really into their roles. They needed some time after the scene to calm down.

Azul to Riddle before getting on to set. "We match now."

"Congratulations, Ortho, you're now a prana." "Yes!"

Vil felt conflicted at seeing himself as an old man. He hated how he looked but he was impressed by the makeup artists.

"Wait, silver hair and strange eyes? Was Silver in my room?! Did he find my weed?!" -Yuu

Victoria Shard, Shōri 💎

{ Moments with: Jiyoon }

Something that's noteworthy, is that Jiyoon actually saw Victoria return to her room the night of the argument.

She heard it, pretty much everyone in the group did, and... She wanted to comfort Victoria.

But she knew that her words wouldn't be enough to cheer her up. Nor would they be enough to convince her to stay.

To put it simply, Jiyoon wanted to comfort her after what Vil did. But she knew that her words wouldn't reach her.

Jiyoon and Circe are the only members of the group Victoria keeps in touch with. She cut ties with Vil, Rook, and Epel completely.

Due to her busy schedule and rising fame as a solo artist, Victoria doesn't have the time to hang out with Jiyoon like they used to. But she always makes sure to support Jiyoon's dream of being an author and actually referenced her in one of her songs in her album 'Silent Games'.

Unsurprisingly, Victoria's perceptive enough to know that it's Jiyoon sending her the anonymous letters of support. Because of that information, she let's the letters continue to be sent and even replies to them.

As for the letter Jiyoon was given from Victoria when she left...

Dear Jiyoon,

I'm sorry that I have to leave. But I think you and I both know that we can't handle the objectification we both face as members of the group. And I'd even go as far as to say you're likely to leave as well.

I know that you want to become a full-time author, and I fully support that dream of yours and will help you in any way I can.

i have terrible memory so this list is for my reference, but i figured i'd post it w/ some notes if anyone was interested in my thought processes <3 feel free to ask me abt any of them bc i am very (coughs) passionate abt body mods if it wasn't obvious. if ppl like this, i may make other posts for other characters that appear in the au.

Mika

he has 13 piercings and rei did most of them! shu has obviously done most of his tattoos but he has some done by the other members of the shop!

piercings: paired nostrils, septum, right eyebrow, navel, snake bites, tongue, two sets on his earlobes, and a secret 13th piercing (will be revealed at some point in the fic hehe)

note on paired nostrils: they were his first facial piercings! when he first got these done, he got an amber gem in one and a lapis in the other to help him feel better abt his eyes

note on snake bites: he always wears rings in his lip piercings bc studs feel weird in his mouth (me when I’m projecting)

butterfly tattoo on the left of his neck - done by leo!

butterfly on his abdomen; placed so his navel piercing looks like the body of the butterfly! - also done by leo!

tattoo over his top surgery scars: monster-like mouth with spiky teeth across his chest - bc he so would have a creepy tattoo, this was also his first tattoo by shu!

acanthe-inspired half sleeve of flowers on his right arm

Shu

she has a lot of ear piercings! she was wataru’s first client when they were under their piercing apprenticeship and many of their first attempts at ear piercings were done on her! she also has many tattoos, almost completely covered in them, but she is careful abt preserving the life of them on her skin, usually always keeping them hidden from the sun.

20 piercings across both ears: 8 starting from her lobes up to her helix (cartilage) on each ear, a rook on both sides, daith on left side, and tragus on the right!

she also gets another piercing that is revealed later on in the fic...

sternum tattoo of roses - done by kuro!

mademoiselle tattoo on her upper right arm - bc I must always reference madonee somewhere in my aus hehe

big back piece of a biblically accurate angel - done by leo!

valkyrie (as in the figures in norse mythology!) piece on her left thigh - she tattooed this on herself! since shu is trans fem in this au, I thought it would be perfect for her to have a powerful feminine symbol tattooed on her, and what better choice than to also reference her unit name!

silly little minimalistic croissant on her inner right ankle - a tattoo she got when she was out drunk with the oddballs one night in her early 20s

two sleeves of ornamental designs that include hearts, flowers, and lacey details - this style of tattoo gives off a more feminine vibe due to its intricacy, which i felt was perfect for trans fem shu. the decorative style also reminds me of the architecture in old churches and museums so it felt very shu-like to me! also blends into a frame around her madonee tattoo

Rei

i wanted to give him some more intense mods, like *scarification, since he is one of the characters that has been in the industry the longest! and i think rei has a complicated relationship with gender in like a neurodivergent way, feeling very masc but more like a creature rather than a human (me wanting to keep the vampire thing he got going on in canon), so i wanted his mods to convey this! i also hc he's had many piercings in the past but he's retired a lot of them, so he doesn't have too many anymore.

*note: since this can look pretty gnarly when initially done, i do not recommend looking up images if ur squeamish! so quick crash course for those who don't know: it is basically the removal or branding of skin into a pattern or design. it's like the cousin of the tattoo! the skin is typically raised in these places once healed over, thus creating a scarred design on the body!

stretched labret - he has a 0 gauge black stone in the middle of his bottom lip!! (roughly the size of a dime)

stretched ears - decently big at about 1 inch or 25mm

also a couple helix piercings on both ears

little bat tattoo over his heart - meant to symbolize ritsu since he cares for his little bro so much!

both arms mostly covered up in black ink - cover up for some terrible tattoos he got/was forced to get when he was younger

dark lettering that wraps around the sides and front of his neck - a tattoo font that looks like intricate black ink line work at first glance but actually says "demon king"

tattoos outlining the skeleton of his hands

maybe some other tattoos but i haven't decided 100% yet

scarification: a cross on the right side of his face - bc rei's old hairstyle revealed this part of his face more, he wanted to get smth there, but now it often hides behind his bangs

split tongue - one of my personal faves for rei

Kanata

he hears a piercing being named after a seashell and is like "wataru i have to get that!!!" wataru also did his ear piercings while under their apprenticeship with rei :) bc of sensory issues, i hc kanata would not want a lot of piercings. since he's very laid back, i do think he's the type to get piercings/tattoos just bc he thinks they're cool!

basic lobe piercings and conch piercings on both ears - w/ jewelry that look like sea shells!!

tokusatsu themed tattoo sleeve on his left arm - chiaki did this sleeve!!

fish gill rib tattoos - similarly to rei, i think kanata doesn't Really see himself as completely human either due to a complicated view of his own gender!

marine life themed tattoo sleeve on his right arm - just several colorful fishies and other creatures he likes!

little chibi cthulhu on his ankle - by izumi!

big octopus tattoo on his left hip - wraps around his thigh and torso bc it's so large

Wataru

they love being symmetrical, so a lot of their piercings are in pairs! all in shiny white gold and/or blue-hued gems. rei also did a lot of their piercings which is how they met!! they're not as big on tattoos, bc they can't sit still for too long!!

piercings: angel bites, cheek piercings, surface anchors beside the eye on both sides (ref), basic lobe piercings, two helix piercings on each ear, navel, paired & centered eyebrow piercings

note on eyebrow piercings: i love the placement for these (i actually have these piercings) as they sort of resemble a clown look and wataru is my silly little clown!!

tattoo sleeve on left arm of flowers and doves - by shu ofc! and she complained every single time wataru moved even a single inch lol

Natsume

he likes meaningful piercings! i write him as trans masc in this fic, so most of them are gender affirming in some way. also put a lot of magic theming into his tattoos!

piercings: stretched septum, septril, navel, tongue, nipples, small stretched earlobes, industrial on left ear, helix piercing on right ear

note on stretched septum: usually only wears a plug in this one, so it's not noticeable from the outside! this piercing symbolizes his journey being on hrt bc he got his septum pierced the day he started hormones <3

note on septril piercing: his jewelry top is a pentagram (ref) since this one can look a little confusing, here's a great vid by a very knowledgeable piercer explaining how it works!

nipple piercings - i hc that hrt made natsume a lot more comfortable in his body, so he decided to pierce his nipples instead of get top surgery! we love trans ppl reclaiming their comfort in their bodies in this house

font tattoo that says "sweet magic" below his navel

crescent moon tattoo behind right ear & star tattoo behind his left

trail of black sparkles and lime green smoke twisting around his right arm - this tattoo goes all the way down to his hands and some of his fingers

cyber sigil heart tattoo on lower back - I guess this is what the style is called, it looks kinda y2k inspired. sorry, I really wanted natsume to have a tramp stamp leave me alone.

Jacob came back from a mission and aboarded his train from jumping down a bridge. He was tired and it almost feels to him like his Lounge is calling for him. With heavy footsteps he passed through the dining car, where a few Rooks greeted him. As soon as he stepped into his car his eyes were fixed on his Lounge. It didn't take him long to reach it, but he stopped dead in his track as his gaze went to a book, which was laying on his Lounge.

(2/11) - It looks familiar and when he picked it up, he knew it was the sketchbook Ashley often carried with her. A little bit surprising, though, as she likes to hide the book from prying eyes. A small grin placed itself on his lips. She never gave him a chance to look at it, blushing furiously while he tried to grab it everytime he wanted to see her drawings.

(3/11) - He wasn’t sure why she was so shy about it, but he may find an answer soon. He looked around, making sure Ashley was nowhere to be found and opened it. The first few pages were from buildings, people doing their business or other little sketches. But when he continued looking, they changed. No more buildings, no more other people. No. His eyes widened and his mouth was slightly open due to the surprise he just found.

(4/11) - Curiosity hit him instantly and he thumbed through the pages; full of sketches with him. Him sleeping on his Lounge, him looking over London while spending a little bit of time with Ashley on the roofs, him fighting in the Fight Club, him laughing and so on. His heart jumped at this. She was actually sketching him. His hazel eyes left the book to search for something.

(5/11) -He found her pencil in the space between the cushions of the Lounge and scribbled a little stick figure under one of her drawings. With a top hat so she might find this it and know who the culprit was. Jacob also wrote that he would be happy to assist her further in her studies. Unfortunately he heard light footsteps coming his way, probably the woman, whose sketchbook he is holding. He shut the book and placed it on the table before laying on his Lounge to pretend to be asleep.

(6/11) -The young woman tiptoed now when she saw the male twin sleeping. She looked for her sketchbook, which she forgotten when a few Rooks ask her to come along for a little fun. It wasn’t on the Lounge, where she left it. Maybe Jacob put it elsewhere? Her gaze frantically went from one point to another and with a relieved sigh, Ashley found it on the desk.

(7/11) -Almost with a small portion of panic she grabbed it quickly, while her head turned back to Jacob. She knew he was always curious about her drawings and wanted to see them. Her heart began to hammer in her chest with the idea of him looking at them before he went to sleep. A last look on his sleeping figure and the young woman wanted to go back to the dining car to do another sketch.

(8/11) -Thankfully, there were only two other Rooks and she got a quite place for herself and wouldn’t be bothered by anyone. The young artist pulled out her pencil and opened the book. But her body froze instantly when her eyes drifted to a stick figure; this was not her doing.

(9/11) -“What the…”, she mumbled to herself. There was a top hat and also a little sentence. She knew the handwriting. And again, her heart began to race and this time, also her face was getting warmer. “Oh my god.”, she breathed. He saw them. He actually saw them. All of them!

(10/11) -How can she be able to look him in the eyes now? Although they spend a lot of time together, she was still a Rook - a member of his gang. He was her Boss after all. Ashley buried her face in her hands, trying to calm her body. Then, she peeked through her fingers and read his sentence again. Maybe…

(11/11) -She couldn’t help the smile forming and the short giggle escaping her mouth. Well, okay, it was more of a grin. But he wanted to assist her and although she is still a little bit mortified of him finding her sketches about him, she couldn’t wait for him to wake up. (I really hope you don’t mind this much

“New school, new horizons and a new page to my story!”

Raven Queen at Pomefiore:

-The first times at Pomefiore and NRC in general were a bit akward for Raven mainly because of the cultural shock.

-Her dormmates were very nice but them over complimenting her was very akward to her so at first she mainly hang out with Epel.

-With Vil at first things were not simple, you see, he was VERY extasic to had the direct descendant of the Beautiful Queen in his dorm so he was often rambling to Raven about how an honor it was to have her in Pomefiore, how great the Beautiful Queen was and how proud she must be to had the Beautiful Queen as her ancestor.

-This make Raven really unconfortable, she don’t know what answer to this all her life her lineage was paint to her as just being evil and now she was ina place where the Evil Queen was see as a hero. Honestly she don’t know how to process all this.

-This and she had some diseagrements with him about his obsession with beauty.

-As for Rook, well, he was nice with a charming but again: over-complimenting a bit annoying and in his case to the umpteenth power as if she suddenly become Apple.

-However she prefer not tell them about her disconfort ‘cause she’s scare to sound rude and offend them so she keep it to herself.

-At one moment, Epel took her aside to talk to her ‘cause he notice for a time that she seemed to be bothered by something.

-After he insisted, Raven finally explain to him what was wrong.

-After she said her piece about everything, Epel, rather shocked about what Raven gone through at her former school, was about to say something when they suddenly facing two shocked Vil and Rook who hear everything.

-Raven was about to say something only to be cut by Vil who say to her with a worried voice something like “You silly potatoe! Why didn’t you tell us a thing?”

-The four then got a long conversation during which they set the record stray:

1)She wasn’t in her former school anymore nobody is going to scold her for being who she want to be.

2)What her former headmaster and her former classmates tried to force her to do was wrong and she was in the right to stood up for herself.

3)She don’t had to be scared to tell what she think.

4)They’re her dormmates and by so if she had a problem or anything which is on her mind she can come see them for help.

5)”And please don’t be a stupid potatoe next time you feel like this and come to us to talk about it! Keeping all those negative emotions to yourself is not healthy at all!”

-Raven was surprised by hown this turned but she was also happy they didn’t reject her.

-After this conversation her relationship with her dormmates get better.

-The others classmates even noticed that Vil was strangely more and more invested into Raven’s well-being.

-Like for exemple, she show big problems of control of her magic? Vil go explain the situation to the headmaster in order for Raven to had tutoring with a experimented student to learn to control her magic.

-Or when some students surprised her singing and Cater even recorded her telling how good her singing is and that she should try the light music club? Vil made Rook fetch Raven(of course in a Rook style and by that I mean “take Raven by surprise and bring her to Vil while holding her like a bride”) and after discussing it with her he encourage her to join the light music club if she want.

-The others students joke that Vil act as a brother version of a mother hen even if Vil deny it. But one thing is clear in the students mind: whatever Vil is deny it or not Raven was now Vil’s honorary little sister.

C.A. Cupid at Pomefiore:

- Although she is still shaken about what happen with Apple at Ever After High, Cupid is intrigued by her new school, curious about the new possibilities to help people’s heart.

-She’s also very happy to see Raven once again and to be in the same dorm than her.

-When she learn that Pomefiore is based on the heavy efforts of the Beautiful Queen she though that that fit her perfectly, ‘cause after all the beauty of the heart is also an amazing thing and she put many great efforts in it.

-She barely get into Pomefiore that she begin to give advices to people who seemed to need it.

-Quickly words about her goes around the school and soon many others students came to see her for an advice.

-Face to all those students wanting her advices Cupid decided to re-create her radio show so like this students from NRC would be able to ask her for advices and got an direct answer.

-After talking about it to the headmaster Crowley and recruting some students she found the Night Raven College’s radio station.

-The radio got different show, Cupid’s is about love advice.

-In a matter of time the new school’s radio become very popular among the students.

Poppy O'Hair at Pomefiore:

-When she entered in the Night Raven College, Poppy was rather wary.

-She an undirect victim of Apple ‘cause she targered Holly accusing the girl to be too beautiful and to knew about the "Snow White” story too much to her taste.

-Because of this Poppy is very worried about Holly’s well-being, even after their transfer,  so when the sisters have been sorted in two different dorms she wasn’t at ease at all.

-Fortunatly Raven reassured her many times to not worry about Holly and that she will be fine at Octavinelle.

-She often go find her sister at lunch time to ensure herself that Holly was okay.

-To vent her stress Poppy begin to draw fashion designs more than usual to keep herself mentally busy.

-One day she looked at all the designs she created, she made so many of them, so many she want to make real.

-Unfortunatly the only way to make it possible would be through a club, but  there’s no fashion club in NRC.

-Then she think “if there’s no fashion club then why not creating one?”

-So with her new objective she gather all informations she need to create her club.

-She prepared all the documentation, found students, mainly from her dorm, who were interested to be members including Lizzie and Ashlynn.

-She then present her project to the teacher who she heard could be a potential teacher councelor for the club: Divus Crewel.

-When the teacher took a look at Poppy’s club project he become interested and told her he will present the project to the headmaster and will accept to be the councelor of this club if it approved.

-Some times later an hyperactive Divus Crewel burst in headmaster Crowley’s office while screaming “DIRE YOU NEED TO APPROVE FOR THE CREATION OF THIS CLUB RIGHT NOW!”

-And so the fashion club was officialy created

-The club took comissions from others students which with the money allow them then to create bigger projects.

-Even though Vil is not a member of the club he often model for them.

-He even post pictures of himself wearing the fashion club’s creations on his MagiCam giving the club a big exposure.

-Soon the fashion club become very popular and the school even turn to the club for making clothes for school events.

-Poppy even get commissions from celebrities.

PERSONALITY

When Kevin was eleven, Kevin showed some capacity to sociopathic tendencies, such as attempting to derail a train, which would kill hundreds of people. He also had a negative view on life in general, felt insecure, and had a low self-esteem since many people bullied him. He hated other people and society, and he was paranoid as he had believed that no one was innocent and that everyone was going to make fun of him, but it was just that everyone hadn’t had a chance yet. It didn’t help that his stepfather, who married his mother after his father had died, was afraid of him.

When he was put in the Null Void by Ben Tennyson, his outlook on life started to change when he met Kwarrel, a fellow prisoner there. Kwarrel became a mentor and a father-figure to him, which helped him to become more stable and kind of mature. He no longer killed innocent people ( although, he had no qualms against killing criminals ). He joined Ben and Gwen when a plumber died after saving his life, and, over time and through friendship with and acceptance from Ben and Gwen, he became a more trustworthy and reliable member of the team.

However, he still, at times, acts like a criminal. He does tend to steal technology and money from the criminals they defeat, which he uses to help repair his car when it gets wrecked, and he does engage on small, criminal acts on the side, such as selling weapons on both sides of a war. He also tends to be cynical and insensitive, but he does hate it when innocent people are in trouble.

Kevin also still suffers from some insecurities, which are most evident when he is mutated. The second time he mutated, he was visibly disgusted with himself and fluctuated between bouts of uncontrollable aggression and severe depression that jeopardised his relationships, especially with Gwen. As Ultimate Kevin, he voiced his frustration against Ben for being a famous superhero and him “still” being a freak.

He is very protective over his car. Touch it, and die.

POWERS AND ABILITIES

As a half Osmosian, Kevin has the abilities of his alien ancestry.

Energy Absorption: Kevin can absorb and use energy in several different ways, including to manipulate technology, discharge it as an energy blast, or use it to heal himself or make himself stronger. However, the use of this part of his powers will make him mentally unstable and addicted to it ( just like addictive drugs ).

Power Absorption: Kevin can take and use the powers of other people and aliens. If he fully absorbs them, then he will kill that person; however, he will only gain about a tenth of their strength. This part of his power also makes me mentally unstable and addicted to it.

Matter Absorption: Kevin can take any material and coat his skin with it in a protective cover. This can also help to augment his strength. He can also absorb several different kinds of material at once and coat other people. Now, he only needs a small amount of material to coat himself with.

Matter Manipulation: Kevin can regenerate matter ( an example of when he had a coating of metal on and his hand had been cut off, and he managed to regrow his hand with the metal coating on ). He can also change the material and his body to blades, keys to pick locks, hammers, and other objects. He can also repair objects with the material he has coated on, and whenever he absorbs liquids, he can allow attacks to phase right through him without injury to himself.

Super Strength & Durability: Even when Kevin does not have a coating of metal on him, Kevin is still stronger than most humans and is able to withstand against attack that would injure regular people.

Martial Arts: Kevin also has some skill in martial arts, which he’s picked up from his various years in the Null Void, as a criminal, and as a Plumber. With his size, strength, and skills, he is a formidable fighter.

Knowledge and Intelligence: Kevin has a vast and deep knowledge on tech of any sort, be it alien or human technology. He can also upgrade and make alterations to various objects, even those created by the Galvin, who are one of the most, if not the most, intelligent races in the universe. He is also a great mechanic and engineering, building and re-building his car and giving it upgrades as well as building Ben Tennyson a car. He also has great analytical and deductive reasoning skills and is great with maths, but he never got a full education since he was imprisoned in the Null Void since he was eleven. As such, he doesn’t know much about Earth subjects.

HISTORY

Kevin was three years old when his father, Devin Levin, dies after saving the universe. His mother married a man named Harvey Hackett when he was four, and Kevin hated him. It didn’t help that Harvey was frightened by Kevin and his powers, and this came into fruition when Kevin was ten, almost eleven. He accidentally managed to absorb energy and demolished the house, and Harvey ran him out. Due to his insanity, he believed that Harvey had also convinced his mother to kick him out, and so he ran away from home into the heart of New York City.

basically he tried to kill a bunch of people and then got stuck in alien jail. at some point, he breaks out and then goes on to become a criminal and deal in alien tech. five years later, at the age of sixteen, he joins ben and gwen tennyson and becomes a space cop and a superhero. now he’s a superhero at the age of seventeen. the end.

AREAS OF CANON DIVERGENCE

Kat ( manaborn ) and I have made an au plot to gwevin – instead of them being immediately attracted to each other, Gwen was wary around and suspicious around Kevin, which Kevin thought was pretty smart of her. Over time, and after becoming friends, they start to date each other.

Omniverse will not and will never be canon to my Kevin. The only character that I really liked from it was Rook, so Rook becoming a team with Ben will be the only canon from Omniverse that I will accept.

The Raised Fists at Mexico City 1968: 50 Years Later

This is part of a series to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the social justice actions at the 1968 Olympics at Mexico City.

IT HAPPENED OCTOBER 16. Well before I was born on this day, and during one of the most violent years in American history, would come an event that would emphasize the fight for equality. 

For those like me who were not of the 1960s, it is very hard to fathom all that happened in America and around the world in 1968. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Bobby Kennedy were assassinated. Tensions flared, and riots raged across the country. The Vietnam War was under way, and NASA used space exploration to combat the Cold War. Around the world, apartheid, the Chinese Revolution, and Australia's Stolen Generation were just a few of the major issues at the time. Television, film, and entertainment continued to evolve, and Bob Dylan and Marvin Gaye were among many artists who used their platforms to chronicle and critique the era.

Athletes would also use their platforms to critique the era. In 1967, Bill Russell, the first black coach to win an NBA title, would join Jim Brown, Lew Alcindor, and Muhammad Ali at a summit in Cleveland amid Ali's draft evasion trial.

All this and more would serve as the backdrop for an autumnal sports fortnight in 1968.

 The Games of the XIX Olympiad would be the only Olympics south of the United States until 2016. Mexico wanted to put forth the best its capital city had to offer during the Games, but had tensions on its own soil. Days before the Opening Ceremony, the government opened fire on college students mid-protest in what is known as the Tlatelolco Massacre.

Felipe Muñoz would win the 100m breaststroke and win his country's first gold on home soil. George Foreman defeated Jonas Cepulis in a Cold War showdown. The US track and field team set eight world records, including Bob Beamon's 29-plus-foot long jump. Dick Fosbury would even teach the world how to high jump backwards.

Estadio Olímpico Universitario hosted the fastest men's 200m final at that time. Tommie Smith briefly nursed a muscle pulled during the semifinal. Peter Norman of Australia held the world record heading into the final; had he run that race this millennium, he would have earned bronze behind Usain Bolt at the 2009 World Championships. Smith would rely heavily on his technique to win the race at a world-record time of 19.83. He was the first person to break 20 seconds in the event, and the only athlete to hold world records in 11 different track and field events simultaneously.   

Memories of not only the race, but the entire 1968 Summer Olympics is summarized into the most iconic image of the 20th century.

In what is known universally as the Black Power Salute, Smith and Carlos, both running for Team USA, raised gloved fists in the air on the medal stand during the national anthem. Smith, Carlos, and Norman wore buttons in support of the Olympic Project for Human Rights. Norman, who heavily participated in the Salvation Army in Australia and wholeheartedly believed in human rights, received his button from American rower Paul Hoffman.

 Smith spoke with conceptual artist Glenn Kaino and moderator Michael Rooks at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta September 29, clarifying that it was not a Black Power salute at all. "It was called the Olympic Project for Human Rights, not civil rights," he said. "That human part covers everything–man, woman, and all ethnicities, religions, and so forth. It was a viable way to move everyone into a direction of their own belief, their own artistic belief." He adamantly repeats his statement in his autobiography, Silent Gesture.

However, it is easy to confuse the gesture as a Black Power salute. In an interview with ABC's Howard Cosell, Smith spoke of Black America, as quoted in Silent Gesture. "My raised right hand stood for the power in Black America. Carlos's left hand stood for the unity of Black America. Together, they formed an arch of unity and power. The black scarf around my neck stood for Black pride. The black socks with no shoes stood for Black poverty in racist America. The totality of our effort was the regaining of Black dignity."

 Regardless of interpretation, the Olympic Project for Human Rights (OPHR) had its roots planted in San José, California. Again, America was amid a turbulent time in the 1960s, and it was no different in California. The Free Speech Movement took place at the University of California at Berkeley; Los Angeles saw the Watts riots; and two years and one day before the gesture, Oakland became the birthplace of the Black Panther Party. San José State College (now University), known as Speed City for its world-class men's track team, would make its presence known in American history when Dr. Harry Edwards founded OPHR.  

Edwards was a senior when Tommie Smith was a freshman at San José State. He would later become a sociology professor on campus. Like Smith, Lee Evans and East Texas State (now Texas A&M Commerce) transfer John Carlos became involved with the project. The project clearly stated its objectives, from the reinstatement of Muhammad Ali's WBO title to the removal of South Africa and Southern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) from the Olympics. The organization even called upon the removal of IOC President Avery Brundage.

To date, Brundage is the only American to head the International Olympic Committee. He finished behind Jim Thorpe in the 1912 Games in Stockholm. He became a member of the committee itself after persuading America not to boycott the 1936 Olympics in Nazi Germany. In addition to his new promotion, Brundage would also build the Nazi German embassy in Chicago, as commissioned by Adolf Hitler himself. He even expelled two Jewish athletes from Team USA.

Athletes and entertainers had mulled over an Olympics boycott for years, starting with comedian Dick Gregory. Talks became more serious at the Western Regional Black Youth Conference in November of 1967. Harry Edwards, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Stokely Carmichael spoke at the Los Angeles event. Dr. King even wanted to serve as advisor to OPHR. Athletes, including Smith, Evans, and UCLA standout Lew Alcindor, converged here to vote on boycotting the Games. The Black Power Salute documentary features Smith’s discussion about the boycott during the 1967 Universaide in Tokyo: "A boycott is possible, and it’s probable. The reasoning is, why should we participate for a country–and for 100% effort–and come back to our homes, and are denied some of the rights that should be given [to] us?”  

The result was unanimously in favor of a boycott, but it never came to fruition. Most black athletes boycotted a major meet at the New York Athletic Club during its centennial year. As the Games drew near, however, athletes debated inner fears, outer threats, and for some, the potential of being court-martialed as a result of jeopardizing their military service. Ultimately, Edwards would publish an article called "There Are Many Ways to Boycott," and, as mentioned in Black Power Salute, said that everyone is free to do what their commitment permits them to do. Just before the Games, Brundage commented on the matter: “A boycott would only be to the disadvantage of the boys themselves. I don’t think any of these boys would be foolish enough to demonstrate at the Olympic Games, and I think if they do, they’ll be properly sent home.”

Black athletes won over 1/3 of Olympic medals post-World War II, but were treated as second-class citizens. Though he competed before the War itself, Jesse Owens became a household name for winning four gold medals in the face of Hitler. Though he was celebrated in his return to America, he struggled to make ends meet. He lost his amateur status after Berlin, and resorted to racing horses for money. This same Jesse Owens that, regardless of intention, made a political and racial statement by competing in the Nazi German games, would later denounce making political statements on the world's biggest stage: “I deplore the use of the Olympic Games by certain people for political aggrandizement. There is no place in the athletic world for politics.”

Harry Edwards, who did not attend the Games due to threats from the FBI, noted that “sport inevitably recapitulates society.” In his autobiography, Smith talks about the responsibility to use his athletic platform to drive social change: "What I believed, instead, is that you take what you do best, which for me was running in track and field, and use it as a platform for something good, to get something done. The Olympic Games was a part of a platform that I was able to use because of what I had accomplished, to make people realize what's going on in this country. You can't not use it."

  All on the victory stand suffered greatly after supporting the Olympic Project for Human Rights. 

After the salute, Brundage sent Jesse Owens to talk to the American athletes. The IOC would send Smith and Carlos home, and the two were never allowed to race for Team USA ever again. Though his Olympic performance stands as the 200m Australian record to this day, Peter Norman was not invited to join Team Australia for the 1972 Games in Munich. He subsequently retired from track and field. Though Smith would participate in the Olympic Torch Relay for the 1996 Games in Atlanta, Norman was not even invited to participate in celebrations for Sydney 2000. Norman died in 2006.

Smith and Carlos faced unemployment, even when trying to take care of their wives and kids. Both faced tough personal losses and familial strains. Though they are not close as people would seem to believe, the two would rebound similarly with teaching and coaching tenures. To this day, Smith fears dying as a result of his protest on the medal stand.

In the present day, a larger-than-life statue of Smith and Carlos is on the campus of San José State University. Harry Edwards founded the Institute for Sport, Society, and Social Change on campus as well. Both Carlos and Smith reside in Georgia.

It is very easy to compare the salute to the kneeling of Colin Kaepernick, Eric Reid, and other football players of this decade. Similar sacrifices have been made, and similar repercussions have been faced. Though Reid recently joined the Carolina Panthers after months of unemployment, Kaepernick has yet to return to a professional football field. Smith, Glenn Kaino, and Kaepernick met in 2017 in New York to discuss the similarities among the protests.

It happened October 16. The photo is still widely recognized around the world. The patterns between the protest of 1968 and those of today are clear that this country has come a long way, but has a long way to go. Continuing the fight may require all-out unity. Continuing the fight may require doing what commitments allow people to do, in Edwards' words. Regardless, it will require being uncomfortable and standing for positive change amid fear and backlash.

AU in which Cassian is an artist and Jyn is sent by Saw Gerrera to model for him as a cover to get into the Imperial Archives on Corellia.  Angst, feels, smut, action and drama.  WIP – currently writing chapter 38 in draft, with the published text on AO3 now up to chapter 35.  

Keeping faith

AU in which Cassian and Jyn survived Scarif and are still with the Alliance, but are separated during the battle of Hoth.  Jyn is taken prisoner and then discovers she is pregnant, and angst and many feels ensue. WIP – currently on just over 9,000 words in draft with the published text on AO3 standing at just over 6,000.

Rebelcaptain one-shot that won’t behave; primarily feels, not as smutty as the title suggests!

Rebelcaptain one-shot, a follow-up to A little more information (which was itself a follow-up to one of the Paths of hurt and darkness stories, On attachment elsewhere).  Cassian is hospitalised following a suicide attempt, post-battle of Endor.  Serious angst and feels.

The Hope of Lyonesse

Only just got started on this, basically it’s still at the planning stage, and it may be a monster as there’s a lot of material to work with.  Rogue One/Arthurian legend/other Celtic legends mash-up AU.  Cassian is Tristan, Jyn is Isolde, Draven is Mark of Cornwall, Chirrut and Baze are the last two acolytes of the Order of Merlin, Bodhi Rook is a character who fuses the roles of Bedwyr and Brangäne.  Mon Mothma is King Arthur, and is a rather more active figure than usual.  The Rebel Alliance is the seven Celtic nations, Albion, Cornwall, Wales, Ireland, Scotland, Lyonesse and Galicia; they have a system of loose alliances and treaties cemented by dynastic marriages, and are trying to work together to fight off invasion on two fronts.  The Empire is an unholy alliance between the Saxon invaders coming from the east and the magic-wielding Formorians of Hy-Braseal invading by sea from the west.  Tarkin and Krennic are Saxons, Vader is the Lord of the Isle of the Torrent.  Other SW characters being slotted in gradually. Warning: Do not expect a happy ending.

Captain Andor lives for a day

Only just got started on this, too!  Total contrast to the above.  A Rogue One/Miss Pettigrew AU.  Late 1930’s setting, with jazz music, cocktails and romance for all.  Expect fluff and feels with just an undertone of angst (because some of the protagonists are not stupid and are aware of politics).

The Bargain of Liberty (working title)

Just got started on this, so don’t look for it anytime soon!  Especially as, being original fic, it won’t be going on AO3.

Historical fantasy set in a sixteenth century AU in which the Spanish did not succeed in conquering the native kingdoms of Central and South America.  Consequently the balance of power across the world is totally different. In London, Dr John Dee has worked a great act of magic, the eponymous Bargain of Liberty, to ensure the freedom of his beloved sovereign, Elizabeth of England, and her people, and to enable her to marry her true love, her cousin Mary Stewart, Queen of Scots.  A work of magic which has had unexpected ramifications.  As our story begins, two British spies, Emilia Tanqueray and Kit Marlowe, and a mestizo Aztec sleeper agent, Javián Cuauhtémoc Sanchez, set out together to thwart the plans of the Inquisition.  The Inquisition’s goals are to overthrow the Emperor Axayacatl the second of Mexico, and to send an Armada to invade the island of Britain…

The taker of daughters

This is a rewrite and expansion of an earlier Hansel and Gretel: Witch-hunters fan-fic.  Significant character changes and hefty filling-in of background.  A steampunk historical fantasy using characters from various ballet versions of folk tales, set in the aftermath of a great war between the High and Low Kingdoms of Faerie and the Middle World of Humankind.  Main character is now Klara Stahlbaum (from The Nutcracker), other characters are her brother, who I’ve named Anton because I don’t like the name Fritz, a Firebird, an OFC who is a human/Firebird mongrel, the Lilac Fairy, and a pregnant giantess.  The main antagonist, the Taker of Daughters, is Kostschei the Terrible.  Currently at just over 77.000 words.  I’m not sure if this is working, though.  I’m having what I can only call tonal problems and struggling to find a balance between the darker and the less-dark elements of the story. So it may end up being abandoned altogether.

The Smiling Assassin

This was a NaNoWriMo project from 2014; a thriller about a retired MI6 agent working for a small London charity, who gets pulled back into his old world when a friend from the past asks him for a favour.  It backfired at around 36,000 words when I realised the plot was not only derivative as all hell but also really sucked!

A Sci-Fi story about first contact with a telepathic alien species; needs re-writing a lot, but the basic storyline is still good.

My “no-zombies zombie apocalypse” story.  Yeah, that.

An urban fantasy about a local government employee who is a practising witch, and her attempts to help her ex who has fallen victim to a psychic vampire.

A Sci-Fi piece mixing a love story inspired by Pelleas et Melisande with a background of social conflict between rich and poor in a far-off future of Rampant Intergalactic Capitalism.

The war is over

A Sci-Fi story inspired by the core ideas from my very first ever fan-fic, which was a sequel to Return of the Jedi written when I was a teenager. Key plot points are A) the Emperor is dead and the beleaguered Evil Empire is on the verge of losing the galactic civil war, looking for ways to fight back and sabotage their enemies, and B) any Emperor worth his salt is bound to have a son-and-heir tucked away somewhere.

The Healers

A magic realist historical fantasy Western; a faith healer who really can heal rescues a member of the Jesse James gang from certain death and hires him to ride shotgun with her. They travel through 1880’s Missouri having assorted adventures, healing various people and one another and trying not to get killed by various other people who want to bring him to justice, while falling in love.  Features lots of gritty local colour, dirt, violence, whores, blood, sex, angst and feels.  I had a ball writing this and it’s probably my best piece of full-length original fic so far.

The Secret Country

Urban fantasy with people who have real magical powers/superpowers trying desperately not to get found out and caught by a government agency determined to make use of them as weapons.  Flawed as a piece of writing, but quite an exciting read if you can get past a few sticky patches.

The eternal love of Gabriel Yeats

A slightly bonkers magic realist historical fantasy, featuring time travel, reincarnation, doomed romance and a lot of major character death.  Very fond of this one too though it has its issues as a piece of novel writing – it’s much too episodic and has a big structural flaw which I never managed to solve successfully.

Ramundi’s sisters

A historical romance about an artist and his three sisters in early C20th rural Sicily.  Very angsty and feels-y, with thwarted love and lots of unhappiness for everyone.  This was my first full-length novel and although I think I’ve improved a lot since as a writer then I’m still fond of it because I remember the thrill of writing it and having it flow.

fic-related rogue one headcanon

So, uh, even though I think Rogue One ended perfectly & would have been a far lesser film if it had ended more ~happily, I kind of binged on  AUs & wrote a fic about Bodhi and had a lot of fun making up the backstory and lit-nerding out. I definitely don’t have time to write more in that verse (plus, I basically said what I wanted to say, & there’s not enough for an actual story of any sort), but I have a lot of headcanons that didn’t make it in, so if anyone’s interested in the poet!verse:

Sara and Binal moved in together three months after Sara got pregnant and scandalized the neighborhood and remained unmarried until the day they died.

Bodhi and Sahinta got their literary talent & their sense of cultural activism from Sara-the Aldanis had a long and storied reputation for being well-meaning irritants in the side of The Man-but they got all their sass from Binal.

Lila, Alif’s wife, was an orphan raised at the temple who got a scholarship to the Academy, and after she went on the run she kept a running tally of all the stormtroopers she killed. She died two weeks before Jedha did.

Dalid was a professor of astrophysics, but his hobby was traditional Jedhan weaving. He and Sahinta first hooked up at an incredibly dull academic conference.

Cassian is the one who decides to hunt down a copy of Sahinta’s book-he remembers seeing a copy in a curiosities shop on Coruscant, & he has a mission coming up there. That first book is funded by the members of Rogue One, but the X-Wing squadron hears about it and what eventually becomes the Jedhan Literature Recovery Fund is born

Bodhi’s only decent at flying an X-Wing, though he becomes an integral member of the squadron and flies hundreds of missions. He does actually manage to reach what Baze deems an acceptable skill level in hand-to-hand. He keeps up the lessons after the war ends, as well as his meditation time with Chirrut.

Jyn, on the other hand, far exceeds Baze’s wildest expectations in unarmed combat, and they become fast friends on and off the sparring mats.

Kaytoo gets in the habit of keeping an eye out, and whenever Bodhi has bad days, Kaytoo takes him to one of the other team members (or brings them to him, whichever seems less troublesome) until he’s functioning normally again.

Bodhi’s first stop after the Battle of Endor is Idil-4, where Dalid was held prisoner, to find Dalid’s body and burn it on a Jedhan funeral pyre and pray the shalfa over it-the one family member he could bury properly.

After the war, Rogue One retire to a farm a little ways outside a city on a quiet planet together. 

Cassian and Jyn spend a few years taking little trips, with the support of Senator Organa, making sure that the Empire is well and truly done. Though the First Order still organizes twenty years later, Starkiller Base is never built (but it’s still the same defector and Jedi and pilot who take down Snoke and Ren, because in no universe does Finn stay with the Empire or Rey stay on Jakku).

Eventually, the two of them start a smallish droid repair business with Kaytoo.

Baze and Chirrut take in war orphans. Baze and Cassian spend the rest of their lives giving little children rides on their shoulders. Chirrut makes a truly excessive number of jokes regarding the game of peek-a-boo, and soon everybody starts approaching him with the implicit assumption that at any given moment there are anywhere between one and three little humans hiding behind his robes.

Baze and Chirrut teach all the children martial arts from the time they’re three or four, which Bodhi finds absolutely terrifying.

Bodhi travels the planets to collect all the literature and art-and all the Jedhans-that he can, and eventually he and several other displaced academics start a new Academy of Arts and Culture.

Bodhi Rook makes it his mission to make sure his culture never goes extinct. He writes poems and essays and textbooks and mentors dozens of children born to those who made it off of Jedha, and by the time he’s done there are actors speaking Jedhan dialects and artists weaving Jedhan blankets and historians scouring the galaxy for Jedhan texts, and, ye gods, the poets. Bodhi Rook’s solar system is lousy with poets. You can’t swing a cat without hitting a poet on his planet (and you might not want to swing any cats when you’re near the Academy. Bodhi Rook doesn’t care for people who hurt animals-a family trait-and you might wake up the next day to find a shinaat nailed to your front door written by the Master Poet himself). Bodhi’s Academy covers the tuition for anyone who didn’t die on Jedha, or their children, and the resulting flood of literature and art is known as the New Jedhan Boom.

And when the First Order rises, so too do the children of the Diaspora. They go to war with Jedhan war cries on their lips and defiant hatas written on the walls of their ships so they never forget.

The predictions from his neighbors on Jedha end up true: Bodhi and Sahinta Rook are forever remembered as the greatest Jedhan poets of their generation. That Bodhi would only be a minor notation, had Sahinta lived, is a weight and responsibility he carries with him the rest of his life

Bodhi Rook dies old, at home, with his fingers calloused from holding a calligraphy pen and people he loves around him. The galaxy is at peace, and his grandchildren never know war.

When he dies, hundreds of those who survived their city write naavs or sculpt tributes or pray the shalfa so his spirit finds its way to those who crossed the desert before him

And every one of them carries Jedha in their heart
