Few products drive traffic to the bakery section as well as donuts. And with people using hashtags every day to share what they’re doing (and eating), foodservice operators can now build more buzz at the donut case with Rich’s newly-launched Hashtag Donut. As the name suggests, this unique confection comes in the eye-catching shape of the hashtag symbol (#), giving donut lovers their next reason to post on social media. 
Fittingly,the world got a sneak preview of Rich’s Hashtag Donut last Aug. 23, the 10th anniversary of the day the hashtag was first used to group messages on Twitter. In celebration of the hashtag’s success and evolution over the past decade, the Twittersphere lit up with symbolic gestures. From inside Twitter’s corporate offices, associates and leadership toasted the 10-year milestone with platters and towers of Rich’s fun-shaped donut treat. 
Rich’s Hashtag Donut can be embellished a thousand different ways – e.g., glazed, sprinkled with powdered sugar, or covered with chocolate or other flavors. Operators can top it with cereals or candies, to create signature donut mashups, or use seasonal ingredients to fashion a limited-time offer. The Hashtag Donut’s convenient, ready-to-finish format also promises quick, easy prep, making it the next #musthave treat for sweet-toothed social media enthusiasts everywhere.
