his eyes shifted with nervousness, not really knowing how to respond without sounding like a pathetic soul. yet he couldn't help but think of the girl as a kind person, reveating in the memories where she had speared his own embarrassment even though it was clear enough that he was trashing out a whole relationship in the dumpster earlier. 'you pretty much made me feel good about having my whole past relationship on the floor, even though you could have easily turned away and get to your apartment without looking back' he started, exhaling in the middle of his saying like someone running a marathon 'so, you're caring, you're empathic...you're gentle...and you clearly are keen on cats, given the excitement you had as soon as i opened the door' he finished, without knowing how to filter his own words. he wouldn't admit it for one minute, but his sort of attraction for the girl had also play a little bit on his decision making. despite that, he was sure she had what it took to take care of the small being. and regardless of that, he wasn't kidding when he said he would continue looking after the fluff from afar. 'it took a little bit more effort but, we still got here, right?' the trouble was nothing more than past now. sometimes, he wonder if his life could've been easier if he was an extroverted person. if his relationship would've triumph, is his parents could've been more proud. but it didn't matter how much effort he would put into his interactions, he couldn't help his nature demeanor. 'yes, nice' he stumbles, knocking himself with the point of the table. he deserved even more pain than that to be quite honest, he was an utter mess in front of the pretty girl. the shy boy felt a flutter of warmth in his chest as he listened to her reassuring words. Her lighthearted response and genuine smile put him at ease, easing the tension that had been coiled tight in his stomach. 'thank you' he mumbled softly, his voice barely above a whisper. he couldn't help but feel a surge of gratitude towards her for being so understanding and supportive. and as she mentioned her work schedule and the possibility of taking time off to go to the clinic, he couldn't help but feel a rush of anticipation. the idea of spending more time with her filled him with a sense of joy that he hadn't felt in a long time. 'that would be great' he replied, his voice tinged with a hint of excitement. 'again, thank you, it's not every day that i find so easily someone to adopt' he assured, petting the tiny creature. feeling his soft furr through his fingers. 'do you have a name in mind?' given that it was the question that had lead them to de adoption, he found it conveniente to ask it now, being the girl the one with the new rights of naming.

jia  nods,  finding  his  explanation  reasonable  enough,  though  part  of  her  quietly  wonders  if  he  has  always  been  so  trusting  given  how  it  can  both  be  a  blessing  and  a  curse.  “and  what  type  of  person  would  i  be?”  she  asks  with  a  quirked  eyebrow  teasingly,  before  a  small  chuckle  almost stumbles  out. she  nods  slowly  to  his  response,  thinking  about  how  much  she  leaned  on  her  own  vet  before  in  moments  where  difficult  decisions  had  to  be  made.  “that  doesn’t  sound  fair  though…  all  that  should  matter  is  you  take  good  care  of  the  animals  and  are  kind  to  people.”  even  though  he  may  not  find  himself  to  be  the  best  with  people,  he  exudes  a  gentle  and  authentic  energy  that  most  find  trustworthy.  “...  nice?”  she  suggests  when  he  seems  to  run  out  of  words,  trying  her  best  to  stifle  a  laugh  in  reaction  to  the  speechlessness  that  she  successfully  caused  before  she  takes  another  sip  of  the  coffee  he  made.  it  might  be  cruel  to  admit,  but  it  is  almost  too  endearing  to  watch  him  fumble  for  words.  “great.”  she  proceeds  to  place  the  order  afterwards,  “all  done.  it  shouldn’t  take  long.”  or  she  truly  hopes  so,  considering  now  her  hunger  is  much  more  apparent  after  the  mention  of  food.  “it’s  okay  —  i  told  you  i’d  help  you  get  used  to  it,  didn’t  i?”  she  responds  lightheartedly,  though  the  reassuring  smile  she  offers  is  as  genuine  as  the  first  one  she  gave  him.  “i  have  work  tomorrow  so  it’ll  probably  be  too  late  when  my  shift  is  off,  but  i’ll  see  if  i  can  get  tuesday  or  wednesday  off  to  go  to  your  clinic  for  the  papers.”  the  prospect  of  adopting  a  pet  that  she’s  fallen  for  at  first  sight  thrills  her  and  her  anticipation  is  almost  contagious.

The yellow on his wrist was blinding, the bracelet felt heavier around his skin, a burning sensation leaving him feeling doubtful all night, his gaze falling every minute to the object on his wrist like a handcuff. ‘Is this my right color?’ his mind provided all day long; something deep inside he knew the answer for was negative and whatever sort of alcohol or mindless chatter with people around him couldn’t undermine the anxiety settled deep on the pit of his stomach. 

Alexander had had an internal debate days prior about the color he’d be sporting at the party; one day he’d settle for red; ‘It feels right and there’s no way to deny it, my heart is set. I know what I want and I don’t see a reason to deny it or hide it from the world’ the voice inside his head provided and for a long while, it felt like he right call, a statement. His decision lasted only about a day until the voice inside his head provided another reveating thought that petrified him for a couple seconds; ‘You don’t wanna force a relationship status onto her, do you?' and that thought alone was enough to make him change his mind. He could, his conscience provided, ask Lara what their color should be; but did he wanted to be so blunt and discuss their relationship over a call or a text message? Red wasn’t a sincere nor viable option (without discussing it first) and green hadn’t been one to being with either (it hadn’t been an option in a while to be fair, his heart had been set on red for longer than he was willing to admit) alas, he settled for YELLOW, the middle ground, not knowing how haunting it would be. 

Playing with the little plastic bracelet, losing it briefly as if he were losing a tie to breathe beter and itching his skin underneath it, his blue eyes fell on a dress that matched his dress-shirt, a head of blonde hair that matched only the sun, a pair of blue eyes (his favorie shade of blue , the one that often appeared on his dreams) and a matching bracelet. As if the woman he had laids on was holding the end of a magnet and he the other, the agent approached the blonde rapidly, his anxieties washing away slowly as a grin replaced the frown on his face “You wearing my favorite color...” he inhaled deeply, chewing onto his lower lip before grinning as he tried to catch his breath after seeing the woman “You look breathtakingly beautiful, Lar” he leaned in to plant a kiss on her cheek, near the corner of her lips and then took a moment to whisper “And I mean that, sometimes I look at you and I forget how to breathe properly” before looking back at her with an smitten grin upon recognizing a specific jewelry piece dangling on her neck “Having fun?”

Not only that, he managed to take the Piece of Eden AND make it back to Masyaf with only one arm. He ended up trusting Altair’s word over their most revered Mentor and investigated Solomon’s temple. AND he was one of the few who managed to resist Al Mualim’s mind control. And he was Altair’s loyal friend and adviser to the bitter end. Malik should’ve had a scene or two at the least in AC Reveations. Heck, the entire Altair section should’ve had more screen time.

I literally cannot believe that Malik Al-Sayf does not get the credit he deserves.

The man lost his arm, his future as an assassin in the field, and his younger brother, all because of Altair’s arrogance.

And even so, he was STILL able to forgive Altair.

Literally the words in response to Altair’s apology are so powerful:

I do not accept your apology because you are not the same man who went with me into Solomon’s Temple, and so you have nothing to apologize for.

Like holy shit, this dude is so underrated.

‘AURORA’ Lyric Analysis

I challenge you to guess what it’s about. 

Wow, auroras. 

The song itself is pretty repetitive, even for a pop-style ATEEZ song, and doesn’t add much to the storyline - it reinforces many of the key aspects, such as the pirate theme, the relationship etween Treasureteez and Halateez, and the celestial imagery and focus on light, but it only reinforces, rather than adding. 

There is no problem with this - sometimes, back-up tracks are needed to consolidate what we already know about the story, rather than the smash us to the ground with a host of new reveations. Some of my favourite albums (BTS ‘Wings’ and TXT ‘The Dream Chapter: MAGIC’) do this too, and do it very well. It is a necessary part of any group with a storyline. 

It just doesn’t leave me with much to say, except that the song is focused on light, the different forms of light, and how light guides and protects the ATEEZ members in various ways. It also includes a few small references to the ‘sleeping/dream-state’ plot of the album.

I don’t have it on my storyline playlist yet, but I feel it belongs with ‘Twilight’ - after ‘WAVE’ and before ‘Light’. The three songs have similar themes, and together in order they tell the story of Treasureteez recovering from the dream sequence and beginning the next stage of their journey, filled with hope and protected by the light.

AURORA

The verse also translates as; ‘the colour of the vast figure ahead, a boundary of ambiguous lines. I haven’t yet found a word to describe this, so I keep saying the same things.’

The verse also translates; ‘But we don’t care anymore,  you’re here to share this vision with me now, we don’t need any more metaphors.’

This verse is also; ‘Whenever I saw the sun go dark every night I would be afraid, It’s weird because now I’m not afraid in that darkness.’

The verse is also, ‘In the arms of the light with all of my strength, dancing together we have one more night.’ This can be nicely rearranged to rhyme, and is a much more tense line - we give all of our strength to the dance, with the hope of living just one more day.

This verse also translates as, ‘Remember our two eyes for a lifetime, try your best to shine in the darkness. Protect me, my aurora.’ I think that this has a similar atmosphere to the above verse, showing the tension that comes from knowing that doom is approaching. ‘Protect me’ is also amore explicit command than ‘wrap around me,’ but together the two create the perfect image of the kind of protection that the aurora creates - enveloping and comforting.

The last two lines of this verse are also; ‘The light from the stars shines on me and turns brighter.’

Here, ‘more enchanting’ is ‘more fascinating’, and ‘It’s glittering in the dark’ is also, ‘I shine more in the dark.’

Seonghwa and Yeosang’s lines are also; ‘Even if all the light at night goes out, I’ll come by your side.’

Conclusions

Repetitive, and supportive rather than it’s own part of the storyline, yet still has some interesting motifs and nice lyrics. Just because it is supportive doesn’t mean it’s unimportant.
