This is what someone wrote and explains the two positions. I feel that the occupation is very much a part of the democratic part of the demonstrations. "Maybe we can just ignore it?"  Worthwhile to read. PDf in both languages.

S0 Saturday night I went to two demonstrations. I am sometimes confused at who is doing what but I realise how dangerous I am to the security of the state of Israel. I got there a bit early and all of a sudden the place was full of police, (More than are shown on the screen) and 4 enormous horses with four donkeys sitting on them. Then thank goodness another woman arrived and then it turned out that the others had been stopped earlier on. The whole thing is so overdone. They know we are not violent. On the other hand at one demonstration at which I was not eggs were thrown at the protestors though the guy was arrested a few days afterwards so maybe they really do protect us. If they were not there, as they are in Sheikh Jarrah, the right would probably attack us.

--we afterwards walked to the President's house...which he is anything but.....and of course I could not keep up but as I said to myself, agteros kom ook in die krall"   the last ox also gets into the kraal or as a Bedouin once said of me in Sinai...she is like the old cars ...]they eventually  get there.

This guy amazed me with his inventiveness  covered in monopolgy money which the government is taking from us to buy the religious and nationalist parties...the top photo...the government loots and only is interested in money.

These little religious boys made rude gestures at us but enjoyed the show...I mean they should see  the people who are working for them and one brought out a chair to watch in comfort

And these two religious ladies had furious discussions with our people and evidently one of them saw her picture on whatsapp and wrote that her privacy had been invaded and she would sue.

and the government is trying to shut any outside criticism of us...as in all enlightened countries

My Italian friends told me all about this. They managed to renew their visas but not for their 18 year old. Gioia said that it was not terrible as he would be going to university...but in other circumstances it could  make things very difficult for a family.

And off to me Arabic lesson.

I don't usually send this kind of thing on but when Chanah Stein sent it to me which she never does I knew it had to be special. users.comcen.com.au/~berlin/temp/balance.mp4 I have found a new group for Arabic....Palestinians and Israelis meet ....each wanting to learn the others language. It is free at the teacher's college in Ein Karem. Unlike my Arabic course, it is also a meeting place where we can get to know the other side and great fun.

Machsomwatch issued two posts about the little boy, Muhammed Tamimi, who was murdered, and I use the word deliberately. The machsom notice says that we can only protest that not one politician on either side saw fit to show any remorse. I say murdered because it is not feasible that the soldier did not know who he was shooting at. There had been no shooting from  the village prior to this and also considering the highly technical rifles used by the army also not feasible that the soldier did not see that this was a father coming out of his house and putting his little boy into the car. Read the PDF by Gideon Levi which really shows up the whole establishment. Ben Gvir will probably give the soldier a medal.           The  other notice is also by Machsomwatch about the wounding of a Palestinian  press photographer. The man had a clear notice on him saying Press. Machsomwatch calls for an inquiry. As I  said open season on Palestinians. This is the notice which is  being carried at many of the protests.

For those not Jewish 7 hours is supposed to pass before you can eat milk after meat.....and with all else Jewish in every community the amount of time differs

How ridiculous can you make religion?

The shift was busy but only with the usual problems of those who were prevented either because of problems with the police or the Shabak. To all of whom we gave the  usual first aid of those to whom  they should turn.  There is always the feeling of guilt that we are passing the buck to those who will have to spend hours helping them.

The one thing that stood out were the parents of a man who had been called in by the Shabak. The mother was weeping and said that she felt as if her insides were burning with worry. Eventually,

when he came out, we tried to inquire as to what had happened and his parents wanted him to speak to us but he was furious and said no one could help him. We consoled ourselves with the fact that we had given the parents several phone numbers to which they could turn and that maybe, when he was less angry, they would persuade him to try to deal with the problem.

She has on a beautiful dress which she had embroidered herself and her husband said it had taken her 20 days and was happy to have us photograph her.
