A reminder from a Christian:
1. Yes, God loves everyone. *Everyone.* There are no ā€œbut what about the LGBTQā€ ā€œbut what about black peopleā€ ā€œWhat about autistic people?ā€ YES! Now shut the fuck up already!
2. Trans women are women, Trans men are men, gay love is real love, lesbian love is real love, asexual love is love, etc etc.
3. You are not to use Godā€™s word for your own bullshit, you hear me?
If you disagree, disrespectfully get the fuck out and cry about it.
If you agree, I love youšŸ„°

DINS COVERT IS NOT A CULT. IT IS AN ORTHODOX RELIGIOUS GROUP THAT STEMMED FROM DEATH WATCH BUT JUST BECAUSE IT ORIGINATED FROM DEATH WATCH DOES NOT MAKE IT A CULT. STOP CALLING IT A CULT. STOP WANTING DIN TO GO AGAINST HIS BELIEFS. STOP WANTING DIN TO TAKE OFF THE HELMET BECAUSE OF HIS BELIEFS. NORMALIZE RELIGIOUS RELATIONSHIPS. NORMALIZE PEOPLE RECONNECTING WITH THEIR FAITH. NORMALIZE RELIGIOUS HEAD/BODY COVERINGS. STOP CALLING HIS COVERT A CULT.

Hey maybe I shouldn't of deleted shit before because I hated just talking and not drawing but needs I remind the zelda fandom that aikoiya is a violent transphobe and racist like straight up not even an exaggeration. Cuz I don't understand how anyone reads her posts on the gerudo and how she "comes up" with her ideas and thinks it's a good.

upon crimson wings
zoro x afab reader
cw: blood (slight bloodplay), religious terms, implied body worship, a little steamy at the end but generally SFW
a/n: continuing my current zoro obsession with this fic that i couldn't get out of my head (sorry). also messing with formatting this time instead of being lazy

Zoro was not a religious man. No, he found the very notion of reverence visceral. Though as he turns back toward you, both having emerged victorious after a merciless assault from a group of marines, he's met with a heavenly scene.
You're facing away from him, surrounded by the wages of spilled blood that pooled beneath your feet, the remnants of singing steel permeates the now hallowed ground upon which you both stand. There was a certain beauty in chaos, and never had Zoro felt it quite as clearly as when he watches you tear into your foes with reckless abandon. The image makes him shiver - not in fear or revulsion, but at something far more primal, deep within his gut.
He's speechless as he observes you wiping the excess carnage from your blade and his eyes widen in delight at the sight before him, his attention fixated on your divine form. It was truly beautiful - a stunning vision that he couldn't have even dreamed up.
"I'd say we took care of that little rat problem." Your words are heavy with pride and exertion, and the sound ignites a fire within his veins.
And when you turn to him, visage tattered and torn and splattered in crimson, his mouth goes dry. You're immaculate, and for once in his life, Zoro is fighting the urge to exalt, to sing praise, to deify you.
A low rumble escapes Zoro's lips as he continues to stare like a starved man would stare at a feast. He's seen you wield that blade countless times, but never have you looked as divine as you did right now, standing amid a symphony of steel and blood. You're right, the two of you could handle these rats with ease, but the more pressing matter was the effect you were currently having on his heart. Zoro takes a step forward, taking in the vision of your face, bloodied but not conquered.
You peer curiously at him as you sheath your sword, taking note of the lack of a usual snarky reply to your words. "Zoro?"
His eye flickers to yours, lips slightly parted in awe. You were a muse that had descended to grace him with your presence, and any words he tried to muster died in his throat. "Yeah?" He manages to ask quietly, his voice a raspy, barely audible whisper.
It dawns on you then - exactly what he's thinking.
He wants you.
Your war-torn, bloodthirsty appearance had overwhelmed Zoro, and it was clear in his gaze. Your lips twist into a devious smirk, keen on taking advantage of this rare opportunity of power you've been given over him. You know exactly how to proceed, and you do something he doesn't expect, something that has his nails digging into his palms.
You lick blood from your lips.
Blood runs cold beneath Zoro's skin, a primal, raw emotion fills his mind with urges he cannot fight. Ever a man of action over words, and before you can react, he's upon you. Large, calloused hands envelop your waist his lips were on yours in a starved, feverish kiss. The metallic tang of blood only spurs him further into devoted bliss.
You writhe in his grasp as he leaves your lips to trail his tongue down your cheek and onto your neck. He's fully prepared to kneel at your altar, to partake of and rejoice in each beautiful proverb that falls from your sweet tongue, to bathe in every hymn you bestow.
Zoro was not a religious man, but he was ready to worship you.

which isn't a lot but it's bonkers how he keeps hitting it out the park with fucking etymological worldbuilding

I was talking about religion with a friend/mutual and it reminded me how weird my upbringing was. Like this is the statement of faith for the school I went to as a kid, to get into preschool I had to formally agree that the devil is real and only the Blood of the Lamb will save me and also great grandma was gonna literally rise from her grave when the second coming happens. I was saved only by my parents' marriage falling apart and them giving up religion as a consequence.

so, I am already Adoring the discourse on The Creator, the new sci fi AI film that came out recently, but Iā€™ve yet to see anyone talk about the fascinating religious undertones to the whole movie? Like, Iā€™m Christian. Iā€™ll be the first to admit my bias here: I tend to look for faith and spiritual undertones when consuming media because itā€™s an integral part of the way I see the world. but this movie was SO COOL?? Like, the Complete Lack of any sort of faith shown in the American characters in contrast with the AI and the Asian characters, a total shift from the modern cultural idea that religion and AI are incompatible. There are monks that are droids and simulants. The kid uses her technology powers by making a ā€œprayingā€ motion. Thereā€™s a robot preaching a pretty classic Judeo-Christian Messiah narrative to a bunch of kiddos. Thereā€™s only ONE American character given any sort of obvious religious identity and itā€™s that One Trooper Lady when she mentions Valhalla. This is such an interesting decision and Iā€™m fascinated to know what yā€™all think of it. NOT TO MENTION (and this is by FAR my favorite part) the fact that the religion and the AI conflict and the treatment of human life are all implicitly bound up together. The Americans believe that the AI are ā€˜just programming,ā€™ that they arenā€™t real, that they donā€™t have souls. The New Asians donā€™t. And that seems to bleed into the way they treat Humans as well? The kind girl near the beginning of the film, clearing the blast zone with Taylor, panics when she sees an AI online for the first time because she recognizes that he behaves like a person, while Taylor is cold, unresponsive, and insists that itā€™s just programming. The Americans SAY they value human life because humans are really people and AI arenā€™t, but they treat civilians and combatants, AI and Humans, Exactly the Same. Almost like, if you reduce one thing with a soul to ā€˜just programming, not of valueā€™ that starts messing with the way you treat Everything Else. The New Asians, as far as the narrative tells us, donā€™t plan on retribution for the war. Theyā€™re careful with civilians, to a certain extent (I donā€™t love the van scene with the kiddos tbh :( feel like that was out of place? And the AI lady, the girlfriend of Taylorā€™s friend who was killed as well, interesting nuances there) and they treat one another like people ought. Thereā€™s very little distinction given between the more android and more human AI, which I think is awesome, and the climax of the arc of Taylorā€™s character happens In A Temple. The end of the story is a message of hope for reunification in heaven AND hope for reunification on earth. Thatā€™s. Thatā€™s so cool. Like. I think thatā€™s the coolest thing Iā€™ve seen in Ages. I canā€™t Ever remember seeing that kind of message done in a story that isnā€™t painfully preachy. One thing that often bothers me about modern film and media is the idea that religion and spirituality has to be handled in one of three ways: entirely unmentioned, preachy to the absurd, or blatantly disrespected. Itā€™s not a universal problem, but itā€™s pretty widespread. I couldnā€™t tell what faith the directors ascribed to in this film, but I could tell they were discussing it intelligently and I LIKED THAT. I liked it a lot. I canā€™t speak for anyone but myself, my tastes, and beliefs: Iā€™m willing to bet a lot of Christians wonā€™t like this movie because theyā€™re hung up on the lack of a blatantly Christian or preachy narrative. Iā€™m willing to bet a lot of other people wonā€™t like it because it tackled spirituality at all. But I liked it, because it looked at the world we live in and spoke of what it saw. It wrestled with the topics of death and life and souls and heaven and national pride and racism and capitalism and love and what it means to be a good person and it did it really well, and I admire that.
please please let me know what yā€™all thought of the movie? Iā€™m really interested in knowing what people picked up on or thought the movie was saying. God bless yā€™all, and have an excellent weekend :) šŸ’œ

Ok so making this its own post but, cTommy as St. Jude the patron saint of hope and lost causes.
So as a martyred saint I'm assuming that St. Jude's lost causes applies to like, causes that you know are doomed but still hold on to anyways, and in a broader Catholic sense Iā€™m assuming it probably means holding onto your faith in God even at risk of persecution. Whatever. But I also love the interpretation of lost causes as causes that other people have given up on. Causes that were left behind by all but you. I think both ways to interpret that fits absolutely for Tommy. Tommy who believes in causes until the end. Tommy who held on to Wilbur, to Tubbo, to L'manburg until there was nothing to hold onto, even AFTER there was nothing left to hold on to. Tommy who refused to give up on Wilbur even when everyone else did, who trusted that he wouldn't press the button (even if he did, weeks later), who followed him around after revival, and when asked why said it's not about giving him second chances, "It's about making sure you don't give up on the people you care about." (credits to @angry-ursidae for the transcript!)
Also very fitting that St. Jude was one of the 12 apostles, the ones who founded the Church after Jesus' ascension. Tommy who was there from the beginning, who was there to found Lā€™manburg and believed in it wholeheartedly, who died for it even before he could see what it would become. Planting seeds in a garden youā€™ll never get to see.
@Aurhis-aurelio-innitā€™s tags also provided some key tommy moments, especially on hope:
#sobbing and wailing #tommy and hope. #do you remember that pogtopia line. #about how what happens if we dont have hope and all that #i dont have it memorized but god im forever thinking about how he views hope as a reason in and of itself to live #ist always him choosing over and over again to love and hope even if everyone tells him theres nothing there #shows him that love will only hurt #and lvoes anyway. #its why i love shroud so much #he got that spider after the prison #and he still had space to hope theres smth better life for them #if i got timelines right anyway possible i didnt #anyway. #ur so right prev u get me #like how lmanburg wasnt meant to be but IS #both works so well #aurebagels
cTommy as the Church of Primeā€™s Patron Saint of lost causes. Of the unloved. Of Hope.
