Vincent swallowed, his stomach twisting at how casually Alix said that one day they would get in trouble for their antics. It didn't matter that he'd never felt so connected to another person or that he was indescribably attracted to her. His reality was that he was always going to be on the run and that anyone he stayed with could be used as a pawn to get to him. There was no question about it, had it not been the holidays, Vince would have never risked coming back to Alexandria's city because he never stayed in the same place twice once he got wind of people asking about him. He quit the bar, packed up his bike, and left the place in his rear view for another bar, another shitty Craigslist apartment, and so on. Managing a smile when she looked at him wasn't particularly difficult though and, just as she did, the crowed erupted in cheers. "I think the jolly red giant has finally decided to show up." The jingle of Christmas bells was a tell, but so was the crowd singing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Rather than focusing on his past, he set his chin on her shoulder and sang along too.

Vincent had been looking at the parade, but his eyes fell back to Alix at her comment. "I make it difficult for you to behave?" He repeated for emphasis, then smirked, kissed her temple, chuckled just twice, and went back to watching the parade. She was a tease and a mystery, and he was enamored— it was a problem. Swallowing down the thought, Vince smiled at her again and nodded. "Then I'm going to make the most of my three days with you. It's three more than I ever thought I'd get." His nose skimmed the column of her neck and he kissed her cold ear, pressing his cheek to it to warm her up. "I'm worried you're going to turn into a popsicle before Santa gets his ass down here."

Alexandria enjoyed the fact that she felt she was able to be real with Vincent. She liked that she didn't feel the need to have a filter and could share whatever she was thinking. "I must admit, you make it pretty hard for me to behave." Alexandria replied as she also lost herself when she was with him. But at the same time she felt he held her at arms length and Alix tried not to press him too much about it, but she was curious. "I only managed to get three days off, but even that is a bit impressive in my line of work."

Was it a bad idea to come back into town just to see Alix for the holiday? Absolutely. But Vincent was banking on his tormentors being too busy with their own families to come to this city to kill him or, worse, hurt Alexandria. He leaned down and took her hands, "We'll find the perfect spot, Princess. I promise. Even if I have to throw a few elbows and make a toddler cry." With a wink, Vincent led the way to a cozy spot, right at the corner of an intersection. Taking the camping chair off his back and flipping it open with ease, he sat down and pulled her onto his lap, pointing just down the sidewalk. "Looks like there are vendors walking around selling food and drinks. You let me know if you want anything, okay?" Vince brushed her hair back from over her ear, kissing the spot just behind it. "Missed you so much, Alix."
