tough question cause i don’t tend to have favourites in life in general but here’s a few blog i particularly enjoy on tumblr dot com. meg @kaleidoscopeminds won the title of my favourite gif maker in 2020 and i haven’t looked back since. i think molly is the person i prev tags the most, i love everything that’s going on at @burstingsunrise 🫶 jess @daydadahlias makes me laugh a lot! i really really really love moodboards and anyone who makes them, @calumsash @chamaleonsoul @crossedwiress @sunfleursky @satellitesunset @takemyhandlrh @bleachswing come to mind rn! and many many other wonderful people including you, gonna stop here before i start listing all my mutuals gshdhd

it’s always funny for me to look back on my first kiss cause it was with my girl best friend when i was 16, and i didn’t start questioning my sexuality until i was in college. it’s the kind of thing where i was just happy it happened with someone i trusted and felt good and safe with. little did i know lmao

way too many!! i live in canada, i’m basically in sweaters and hoodies at all times for half of the year

maybe a little lost rn? i have a lot of really great things going on my life that will come to an end soon and it’s the whole, “what i am gonna do now” that’s looming over my head constantly. sometimes it scares me and other times it’s exciting, so lots of mixed feelings!

yea, it takes me a lot to fully trust someone, i protect my heart a lot and don’t give too much of myself away at first. it’s something i’m working on cause i do really love connecting with people and sometimes it feels like i’m doing myself a disservice by being this way

hiya ari! WELL my favorite instrument to play is obviously guitar, since it's the only one i play. my favorite instrument to watch someone else play is probably piano. and my favorite instrument to hear in music is like a billion way tie between piano, strings (i looooove violin), bass guitar, drums, and brass especially trumpets. i know that was a lot of answers but i literally cannot choose

favorite comfort album: ooo this is a hard one! i'm not in the habit of listening to albums all the way through (at least not when i'm in need of comfort) but ig maybe doom days by bastille might apply? i love story albums as a concept and i think bastille did a very good job executing it in this album! it has (imo) zero skips and while they could have easily ended on a sad/angsty note they didn't! they chose to close it out with joy, and idk why but that song and choosing that as the end of the story arc brings me a lot of comfort :)))

favorite thing to do when i'm bored: rereading some of my fav fics/books is always a solid choice, but if i don't have the ability to focus enough then i do love me a good walk, especially if it's late at night.

favorite time of day: i love the late hours of the night when everything's dark and no one's awake and it feels like stolen time where it doesn't matter if you get stuff done or not

hi hazel!! i’m watching the music video again and i wanted to ask you if you had any thoughts about the part of the music video where it’s like a close up of the guys faces, with hands placing their hair/adjusting their accessories? i can’t quite figure it out so i thought i’d ask! loved the post you put together about some of meaning behind the music video btw:)

hi em!!!! i do have a possible thought on that, although i feel like it's not as clear cut as the rest of the mv was to me. i think that part could have to do with putting on a brave face/mask and continuing as normal. the song to me feels very defiant; despite the lyrics being self-pitying ("all these broken hearts but mine's the one bleeding," and "i know you wish me well/ and that's what makes me want to die" for example), the tone of the song doesn't come across as that at all to me. the narrator has made his bed and he's going to lie in it, but pride isn't going to let him wallow or ask for forgiveness. he's not groveling or trying to be better. although he now knows that "i did not need your help" was a lie, the core of the song is still that he's now alone and it seems like it's going to stay that way, he's not appealing for help now. so my thought with people adjusting their hair/accessories is that they're trying to save face. yeah they may be lonely and upset, but on the outside they're going to be put together and ready for a close up. no one is going to know how much they messed up, they're not going to let anyone say "told you so, you didn't know what's best for yourself and got yourself into a mess" they're just going to continue showing everyone that they're living their best life (even if that's a lie). it kind of mirrors the instrumental vs the lyrics in that way, since the lyrics are sad and self-pitying but the instrumental is an absolute banger that you yell when you need to grit your teeth and move forward, not when you need a cathartic cry
