Fuck you, I am not done yelling about Jonas Nyebern

Here's the first post where I yelled about him

Basically, I realized that I am hyperfixated on the book and return to hate on the movie and cry about other stuff.

They took so much character out of Jonas (and tbh every other character) in the movie - Jonas and Jeremy's whole dynamic was being polar opposites. Jeremy hated life and wanted to get rid of it. The reason why he pursued Regina was because she was young, full of life and pure. He feared Jonas, his father, since he was a life giver, hating death obsessively. Jeremy found it repulsive that he was brought back to life after trying so hard to gain entrance to hell. With his obsession with hell, of course he hated his dad, who was a christian. That dynamic is never brought up in the movie. Jeremy only thought about killing Jonas but he couldn't do it because he was, in a way, scared of him since, as I said before, he was a life giver - the complete opposite of Jeremy.

Pretty much the only reason Marion and Stephanie (Jonas's wife and daughter) are dead is because of a book. The book was written by a killer, Thomas Nicene, who claimed to have seen hell and described it in his book, which Jeremy read. Thomas had killed his mother and brother, setting an example for Jeremy. The book is most likely what motivated Jeremy, making him kill his mother and sister, making him want to gain entrance to hell. Jonas read the book, of course, trying to understand his son better, only to find out that the hell described in the book was literally just based off of the Evil Empire from Star Wars. Jonas's family is fucking dead because of Star Wars. It's so hilarious to me in a very morbid way.

Anyways uhh?? Once again, Jonas will never know all the shit his son did. The last time he saw Jeremy was when he was still in the hospital, faking aphasia and manipulating the hospital staff to think he was a sweet nice boy. Jonas only realised that he had been faking it after finding Redlow's (the private investigator he had hired, after Jeremy escaped the hospital, to know what his son was even up to) body in his freezer with a note from Jeremy. That was all the communication he had with his son after his escape from the hospital two years prior. But still all that time he was so sure Jeremy was out there, up to no good. He'll never know that Jeremy killed a friend at the amusement park when he was little. But did he ever find out about all the other corpses at the hideaway? Since the note his son left with Redlow's corpse didn't mention anything about the hideaway or anything else, it was just to threaten Jonas. He had no clue his son had been piling up corpses - ahem, putting up his art exhibit - in the amusement park.

Another thing that fucking hurts me about the part where Jonas finds the body of Redlow is that it's the exact moment where he loses his faith. There was no God, he didn't trust one anymore.

I am once again making no sense but I just need to get stuff like this off my chest lmao
