The creators of Jigarthanda Double X, an upcoming action entertainer starring Raghava Lawrence and S J Suryah together for the first time, recently presented its'more than a teaser'. Stonebench Films' more than a teaser for Jigarthanda Double X, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, was unveiled on September 11 at 12:12 pm. Dhanush released the Tamil teaser, Mahesh Babu published the Telugu teaser, Dulquer Salmaan released the Malayalam teaser, and Rakshit Shetty released the Kannada teaser. The film's leading men, Raghava Lawrence and S J Suryah, are expected to have completed filming and that post-production work will be underway. The team is now working hard to guarantee that the film is out in time for Diwali. Aside from numerous new and interesting sites in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, additional sets were built to meet the needs of the screenplay. Producer Kaarthekeyen Santhanam said of the film, "We had a fruitful and extensive shoot spread across many locations for this big project." We are very excited to have it ready for Diwali this year." "The film is a creatively satisfying experience for all of us," director Karthik Subbaraj continued. Jigarthanda Double X was shot in some of the most unusual places. I am confident that we will provide the audience with an exciting experience. "I sincerely thank my actors, technicians, and everyone else who helped with this massive project." Jigathanda DoubleX, like its predecessor, is an action drama in the action gangster genre. Tirru, a national award-winning cinematographer who has collaborated with Karthik Subbaraj on films such as Mercury and Rajinikanth's Petta, is a part of this film, as is editing by Shafiq Mohammed Ali. Santhosh Narayanan wrote the soundtrack, who, interestingly, also scored for Jigarthanda and has been in most of Karthik's previous films. Jigarthanda Double X, produced by Kaarthekeyen Santhanam, is intended to be a Diwali treat, with releases in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada.

"Unyielding Persistence: Overcoming Time's Play in the Pursuit of Justice"
In the relentless pursuit of a dream, sometimes life throws curveballs that test our resolve and patience. For Rakshit Shivam Prakash, an aspiring UPSC candidate, the journey was marked by unforeseen challenges and unexpected turns. Just when he thought all hope was lost, a twist of fate and unwavering persistence brought him back into the race for justice.
Rakshit Shivam Prakash v. Union of India & Another
WP (Civil)890/2023
Before the Supreme Court of India

Tumblr media
A Battle Against Time: The Pursuit of Justice
In the intricate journey of aspiring for a position in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Rakshit Shivam Prakash found himself amidst unexpected challenges. The year was 2014, and the rigorous selection process for the Civil Services Examination was underway. Rakshit qualified through the Prelims, Mains, and even the Interview. He was called for a medical examination on April 29, 2015, conducted by the Central Standing Medical Board. However, fate had a different plan; he was declared ‘temporarily unfit’ due to a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 31.75, just above the prescribed standard of 30 BMI. A re-medical test was scheduled for July 14, 2015.
Then, an unusual twist occurred. On July 4, 2015, UPSC published the final result, and Rakshit’s name was absent. Disheartened and assuming the selection process was over, he missed the re-medical test. It seemed that time had conspired against him, leaving him to face the harsh reality of unfulfilled dreams.
But, as they say, the most amazing things happen when you least expect them. On January 19, 2016, a consolidated reserve list of 126 candidates was published to fill remaining posts. Astonishingly, Rakshit secured the 93rd rank in this list. Candidates ranked below him were allocated services, reigniting his hopes and transforming his disappointment into a legitimate claim.
Rakshit approached the Central Administrative Tribunal in Patna, seeking equal treatment as others in the reserve list. However, his application was dismissed based on a similar case of Mr. K. Rajashekhara Reddy, who also missed qualifying in the medical examination. Undeterred, Rakshit filed a Writ Petition before the High Court of Patna.
During the pendency of his Writ Petition, a surprising development occurred. The High Court of Telangana ruled in favor of Mr. K. Rajashekhara Reddy on April 6, 2021, and the Supreme Court later directed a re-medical examination, finding him fit for all services. This decision rekindled Rakshit’s determination, leading him to withdraw his Writ Petition and make a fresh representation to the Respondent Authorities.
However, his representation was met with a setback. The Department of Personnel and Training upheld the Government’s stance on the time limit for medical re-examination, confirming his status as ‘Unfit for all Services.’ This led Rakshit to approach the Supreme Court under Article 32, seeking directions for allocation of service and a re-medical examination.
In August 2023, the Supreme Court entertained his petition. Despite rejecting his plea for allocation of service and consequential benefits, the Court acknowledged the unique circumstances. It directed a re-medical examination to be conducted within four weeks, providing a glimmer of hope amidst the prolonged struggle.
Rakshit’s story exemplifies how unusual circumstances and the passage of time can either thwart or favor our aspirations. Whether it was the unexpected twist of finding his name in the reserve list or the favorable decision for a re-medical examination, it underscores the importance of persistence and vigilance in the face of adversity.

Status: Extinct
Time and Place: Between 247.2 to 242 million years ago, in the Anisian of the Middle Triassic
Tumblr media
Shringasaurus is known from the Denwa Formation in Madhya Pradesh, India
Tumblr media
Physical Description: Shringasaurus is a very strange looking reptile (befitting of the allokotosaur title), and basically looks like one of those retro ‘slurpasaurs’ from those old dinosaur movies where they just glued horns onto an iguana. At around 3–4 metres long, Shringasaurus was pretty large for a Middle Triassic archosauromorph, and could have potentially stood tall enough to look you in the eye. Shringasaurus had some very unusual proportions, with a small blunt-snouted head on a long, very thick neck attached to some very deep shoulders with tall withers over them. These chunky forequarters contrast with its rear end, with proportionately small hips and a tail that is relatively short compared to other stem-archosaurs. Of course, its most famous features are its bizarre horns over its eyes. These are remarkably similar to the horns of ceratopsid dinosaurs like Triceratops, and are yet another fabulous example of the Triassic doing everything dinosaurs did first. These horns can be as tall as the skull again in large individuals, and curve to face up and forwards. These horns were proportionately smaller in younger animals, and so likely grew in as they matured. Interestingly, one juvenile specimen lacks horns at all, even though a similar sized specimen has them, suggesting that some Shringasaurus, possibly females, didn’t have them. Even on closer inspection Shringasaurus is weird. For instance, it has palatal teeth like some other reptiles, but lots of them, and they’re all shaped exactly like the teeth on the edges of its jaws. No other reptile besides it and its close relative Azendohsaurus have teeth like that. Just imagine how that would look when it opened its mouth.
Shringasaurus embodies the typical azendohsaurid body plan of combining bizarrely ‘advanced’ sauropod-like traits with those of more ‘primitive’ archosauromorphs. Its long neck and small head has obvious superficial similarities, but features of its jaws and teeth are so sauropod-like that they’re only seen in sauropods themselves and azendohsaurids like Shringasaurus—yet another remarkable example of convergent evolution in these animals. Features of its arms are similar to sauropodomorphs too, but its posture was decidedly more ‘primitive’ than them. Its back legs sprawled completely, like those of a lizard, and while the front legs weren’t anything as upright as sauropods, they may still have been held more off the ground in a sort of semi-sprawl than the back ones. This would have given Shringasaurus a sloped back and raised the head and neck higher above its shoulders, so in a way it was still superficially sauropod-like. With horns.
Diet: Shringasaurus was clearly a herbivore from the shape of its teeth, which are leaf-shaped and serrated (indistinguishable from herbivorous dinosaur teeth, infact). The teeth and jaws of its close relative of Azendohsaurus have been studied in detail, and suggest it preferred feeding on the softer parts of plants like leaves rather than tough stems and branches. Shringasaurus had similar teeth, so it likely fed on soft vegetation also. Quite how it used its freaky palatal teeth is anyone’s guess.
Behavior: Not much can be said for sure about its behaviour, but since so many Shringasaurus individuals were found together of different ages, it’s possible that they lived in mixed-aged herds. Sexual dimorphism, if really present, would be a good indicator that the horns were used at least for display, but like the horns of ceratopsids and living bovids it’s also possible they were used in combat, locking their horns in jousts to settle disputes over food, mates, territory, or anything else they might have been grumpy over. The shape of the horns in particular implies they were mostly likely used for this kind of wrestling.
Ecosystem: Shringasaurus  co-existed with a decent variety of other typical mid-Triassic animals in the Denwa Formation. Other large herbivores included two dicynodonts, one a stahleckeriine and the other more like the older Kannemeyeria, as well as an early rhynchosaurid. No less than four temnospondyl amphibians are known from there, including the predatory Cherninia and Paracyclotosaurus crookshanki, a brachyopoid (think Koolasuchus), and a long-snouted gharial-like trematosaurid. The extinct lungfish Ceratodus was also swimming around here too. Shringasaurus was one of the largest animals known in this ecosystem, and probably would have only rubbed shoulders with the large stahleckeriine dicynodont for food sources, browsing on tall, lush plants out of reach of the other herbivores. The environment was a broad, semi-arid floodplain with slow meandering rivers, subject to seasonal rainfall and droughts that may have periodically dried up rivers and ponds.
Other: Shringasaurus belongs to a recently recognised group of archosauromorphs called Allokotosauria, the “strange reptiles”, which includes other peculiar stem-archosaurs like Trilophosaurus and bizarre Teraterpeton. Allokotosaurs all appear to be herbivores, and can be characterised by their strange teeth, but they’ve all got different types of them! Shringasaurus and other azendohsaurids all have jaws full of teeth (including the roof of the mouth) that look just like herbivorous dinosaur teeth. The resemblance is so uncanny that Azendohsaurus was considered to be a dinosaur for decades before the rest of its body was discovered. Trilophosaurids meanwhile have a characteristic beak, which in the unique case of Teraterpeton is so long and pointed that it vaguely resembles an anteater, and their teeth are cusped and interlocking for shearing leaves.
Early archosauromorphs used to be thought of as mostly carnivores and insectivores, while the role of large herbivores was dominated by the synapsid dicynodonts in the Early and Middle Triassic, with archosaurs like dinosaurs and aetosaurs, as well as the rhynchosaurs, only taking over in the Late Triassic. Allokotosaurs like Shringasaurus demonstrate that this was wrong, and that stem-archosaurs were just as capable of being derived herbivores capable of competing with synapsids in the Middle Triassic just as well as the later derived rhynchosaurs and archosaurs, including at large sizes as big as Shringasaurus. Intriguingly, there’s evidence to suggest that Azendohsaurus was endothermic to some degree, i.e. warm-blooded, and given their close relationship it’s probable that Shringasaurus was too. This would make azendohsaurids like Shringasaurus some of the earliest stem-archosaurs to have been warm-blooded!

The film starring Mahesh Babu and directed by SS Rajamouli will be released in two parts.
SS Rajamouli established the two-part pattern for blockbuster films with his Baahubali, which is currently reaping the advantages. Previously, Ram Gopal Varma divided his mafia drama Rakht Charitra (which introduced Tamil actor Suriya to the Hindi film industry) into two parts. That, however, did not work. More recently, Hemanth Rao collaborated with Rakshit Shetty on the magnificent Sapta Sagaradaache Ello - Side A, which was released in theaters a few months ago. He is back this week with the sequel Sapta Sagaradaache Ello - Side B.
Tumblr media
According to a source close to Mahesh Babu in Hyderabad, his untitled film with S S Rajamouli, which begins filming in early 2024, will likewise be a two-part feature film. "Mahesh Babu and Rajamouli discussed it," said the insider. They concluded that the script covers a much broader range than a typical film's running duration. They had two options: make a 4-hour-plus film or split it into two parts and release them two months apart. They chose the latter."

@ratnas-musings replied to your photo “Asking coz I’m now genuinely wondering………. Is Veet a thing that’s…”
Hi since you are watching dd for a while..would love to know your views on drishti and rakshit as a couple..do u like them? anything unique? the actors are doing justice to the characters..or just anything you’ve noted about drikshit?..tbh I love to read your analysis on anything..and though we’ve discussed DD.. you never mentioned about this couple.
Drikshit as a couple aren’t particularly unique, their relationship seems like most 4 Lions relationships to me (rich, emotionally-stunted guy with daddy issues; bubbly orphan girl is relentless do-gooder; both have childhood trauma and are thrown together first in a “professional” capacity, then in an unwilling marriage.) I personally find the prospect of Divya/Shikhar as a couple more compelling; their dynamic is different from the conventional Tellywood relationship. Shikhar seems to be the one wholly invested in their marriage, while Divya doesn’t really express any romantic feelings as such and treats him like a roommate. They’re so riiiiiiiiiiiipe with potential and this damn show doesn’t give them anyyyyyyyyyyy scenes or even the most minor development beyond “two people who happen to be married and share two common interests: elaborate GOT-esque braids in their hair - progressively more complex than previous weeks’ - , and battling the paranormal forces that specifically target only their two families.”
Coming to Drikshit: I think they have pretty good chemistry as a couple (and I like Sana a lot! Will def. be keeping an eye out for her in the future...) but the writing for them, especially in the last few weeks has been abysmal. I mean, yes, the show itself has absolutely zero logic and is hurtling along at a breakneck speed, but Drikshit as a couple has been particularly incongruous lately. So much is just being glossed over and rushed past (wrt their feelings/many other clarifications re: the whole Anjaan thing, the wedding with Lavanya, etc.) coz of all the other stuff that’s happening, that there’s no real clarity/complexity to the relationship (it started around that Divyasachini track but ramped up since the fake wedding track.) They do emotionally-wrought scenes better than gushy romance, so overall, I liked them better in their angsty phase when they were unsure of each other’s feelings, coz it’s been a little cheesy the past two weeks. Don’t really know how it’s going to develop in the coming weeks, but based on the current writing, I’m not holding out much hope for properly written development. It is what it is. 🤷‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️
In most shows, I focus on the couple(s) and their relationship dynamics, but this show has SO MUCH GOING ON, that the romance aspect is pretty much an afterthought for me. Not that I won’t watch when it’s shown, but I enjoy the other batshit crazy nonsense more! 🤪🤪🤪

How Smart Can Machines Get Author(s): Rakshit Dwivedi Future, Opinion, TechnologyHow Smart Can Machines GetThe answer will surprise youPhoto by Lenin Estrada on UnsplashAI is exponentially growing, making it smarter and smarter each day. The prediction algorithm deployed by Facebook to track you and serve you with suitable ads (Ad optimization) works at a staggering 98% accuracy. In other words, you can say that this AI software knows you better than your own family members! We have DeepFace(again by Facebook), which identifies human faces with 97.25% accuracy without factoring in lighting conditions and angle. What do we get out of AI?AI has been a pioneer for identification, space research, transportation, and whatnot. Fundamentally, we are already surrounded by AI. #MachineLearning #ML #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #DataScience #DeepLearning #Technology #Programming #News #Research #MLOps #EnterpriseAI #TowardsAI #Coding #Programming #Dev #SoftwareEngineering https://towardsai.net/p/technology/how-smart-can-machines-get?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=rop-content-recycle #opinion #technology

R Packages worth a look
Extension to ‘spatstat’ for Large Datasets on a Linear Network (spatstat.Knet) Extension to the ‘spatstat’ package, for analysing large datasets of spatial points on a network. Provides a memory-efficient algorithm for computing the geometrically-corrected K function, described in S. Rakshit, A. Baddeley and G. Nair (2019) Create Trusted Timestamps of Datasets and Files (trustedtimestamping) Trusted Timestamps (tts) are created by incorporating a hash of a file or dataset into a transaction on the decentralized blockchain (Stellar network). The package makes use of a free service provided by https://stellarapi.io>. Manage the Life Cycle of your Package Functions (lifecycle) Manage the life cycle of your exported functions with shared conventions, documentation badges, and non-invasive deprecation warnings. The ‘lifecycle’ package defines four development stages (experimental, maturing, stable, and questioning) and three deprecation stages (soft-deprecated, deprecated, and defunct). It makes it easy to insert badges corresponding to these stages in your documentation. Usage of deprecated functions are signalled with increasing levels of non-invasive verbosity. Markov Random Field Structure Estimator (mrfse) A Markov random field structure estimator that uses a penalized maximum conditional likelihood method similar to the Bayesian Information Criterion (Frondana, 2016) . Model Butcher (butcher) Provides a set of five S3 generics to axe components of fitted model objects and help reduce the size of model objects saved to disk. Parsing Semi-Structured Log Files into Tabular Format (tabulog) Convert semi-structured log files (such as ‘Apache’ access.log files) into a tabular format (data.frame) using a standard template system. Robust Quality Control Chart (rQCC) Constructs robust quality control chart based on the median and Hodges-Lehmann estimators (location) and the median absolute deviation (MAD) and Shamos estimators (scale) which are unbiased with a sample of finite size. For more details, see Park, Kim and Wang (2019). This work was partially supported by the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) grant funded by the Korea government (No. NRF-2017R1A2B4004169). http://bit.ly/2OViUZF
