So this racheymaybe person blocked me, I’m assuming, because I reblogged something they they had posted originally, something that someone else had already commented on, calling them out for their shit regarding their attempt at erasing Poe Dameron from the Trio in the new Star Wars trilogy.  I reblogged it with my tags, because the person I reblogged it from had already said pretty much everything that needed said, but then OP reblogs it from me (don’t know why) and starts cussing up a storm about their reasons.  I went to reblog it Tumblr wouldn’t let me.  I’ve never had that happen before, so I’m assuming it was because I was blocked.

The people who left her on Jakku are on the ship that's flying away in Rey's vision. That's her family. She was taken from her family as she was on Jakku. Why would Luke give up on finding his daughter if he can feel people through the Force?

Is there somewhere I can go to read that it’s canon she was taken away from her family, who were on the ship? It’s also entirely possible Luke placed her with a family and they were the ones she was separated from. It’s also possible, as I repeatedly noted in my post, that she isn’t a Skywalker at all.

I'm just going to go ahead and assume you've never watched The Clone Wars.

Partial credit. I watched maybe half of it a year ago, and found most of the episodes exceptionally unmemorable.

However, I am not, in fact, ignorant of many of the subplots. For example, I am perfectly well aware that they gave Obi-Wan a love interest. Of course they did. They weren’t alone. I count 3-4 Obi-Wan love interests at various points in the EU, including Legends. Which is why I specified movie canon when I made my post.

The love interests in the EU? They’re a predictable outcome. Our society is ridiculously centered on romance, to the point where we barely understand how to write stories not focused on it. Hence the emphasis on shipping culture. Hence the thousands of unconvincing romances in blockbusters. If you say ‘hey, go write a story about this character’ a lot of people will immediately go GIVE THEM A LOVE INTEREST THAT’S GOOD FOR SOME DRAMA. So of course as soon as somebody looked at fleshing out Obi-Wan they decided a romance was the best way to go. Of course they did.

This just feeds into my original point, really. Obi-Wan starred in four movies, and was young and attractive and apparently ripe for a romance in three of them. I can’t think of a single moment where any romance is even hinted at in any way, shape, or form. That is amazingly rare, and amazingly precious to some of us.

Look, I could write entire rants about how unlikely Obi-Wan would be to have a child with anybody. I can and will write rants about how it would be weird and undermine the character, and if you want that? If anybody wants it at all? I will.

For now, I’ll just repeat myself: Looking at the main movies, the one thing that everyone has seen and the one thing that unites everyone that cares about Star Wars*, Obi-Wan has neither a romantic interest nor any real candidates for a romantic interest. Romance is not what his arc is about. I very much wish that people would, at the very least, consider that factor before going ‘a Kenobi descendant would be cool and Solve All Problems Somehow’.

(*okay, I’m sure there are exceptions even to this, but this over-generalization is probably more true than most in the fandom)

Honestly, since we've mutually blocked each other and yet this happened, I have no time for subtlety. And whoops I changed subjects halfway through but I'm not changing them all to suit one beginning line. What I do have time for is laughing at how- 1: She thinks I'm lying about shipping it because my AO3 history, shipping sideblog, posts from 6 months ago, and multiple mutuals here on this Trash Site, (hell, I've even spoken to my therapist about Reylo drama) so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 2: She thinks I care for other people's opinions of me. Now, if I had 0 followers and several hateful anons, I'd be worried what other people think. But I have friends ready to fight (and to tell me when someone's subtweeting), so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 3: I'm convinced that at least 70% of shippers and also 70% of antis act like they're twelve, you ain't special bud, not to mention that last line of yours is literally a stereotypical 12 year old habit: using as many sweats as possible in one spot just for the hell of it (sorry no shrug here) 4: Gee didn't know fatalistic humor as a stress response was suddenly outlawed. Oh wait it's not you're just overly uptight. I'm not apologizing for choosing that over finding someone to murder. 5: I made a mess. I acknowledged that I made a mess. But I didn't get mad that people weren't jumping over each other to defend me. The fact that I didn't have to pull in others makes me happy. For all you know, I could've requested that everyone else stay out. 6: You aren't in the right. I have 3 mutuals and 2 anons (one I have yet to reply to because I'm usually on mobile) who have THANKED me for calling you out. Feel free to continue this feud. But it's not my job to coddle you and validate you and make this website comfortable for you. Not my problem. Honestly, I'm just glad that at least I have the strength to call a person out with a direct tag, and when prevented from doing so, still have the dignity to face them head on and respond to them in a way that the person will see. Don't want me insulting your friends? Don't be a jerk to mine, or cause issues in the rest of the fandom. I have no intentions to back down or watch people bully others, regardless of what side of the debate they're on, without stepping in and telling people to knock it off. To the spectators: I'm on mobile and I'm not up for doing the HTML code to link things into this post, but look through this fiasco and tell me: did I ever get super aggressive? Did I ever swear at her? Did I call her any names (there is a difference between saying someone is/is being a jerk, and legitimate namecalling)? Did both sides cite where their respective issues with the other's had occurred? Let yourselves be the judge.

Additionally, people interacting with her should be aware of the things she has said.
