Animation Professionals Over 90 Still Alive

10 years ago, Cartoon Brew had an article about animators from the Golden Age and beyond over a certain age still living.

Unfortunately, the lion's share of that group have since passed away, save for a handful of names. For this post, I would like to highlight (in age order) those from studios like Disney, Warner Brothers as well as independent bases that are around today who represent the last living links to old school animation. These include artists, directors and writers. Exclusive voice actors or animated music composers are not counted.

There was that summer a few years back when my heart was in tatters, and it seemed like the whole world knew about the worst things I'd done. I drove a hundred miles in silence down the center of a long island to my hometown and got a job working on a farm field just a skinny half mile from the edge of the earth; picking tomatoes before they would fall off the vines. Red hawks and fish eagles flew in lazy circles over head as I worked, and I cried; hoping that each full basket would bring me one step closer to redemption. In the evenings, I would drive that last half mile to the ocean and plunge myself in. Letting my sweat and tears mingle with that salty Atlantic sea. I was something primordial and weightless: a jellyfish, a driftwood log. And as the horizon pitched and heeled in the distance, it dawned on me that there's no going backwards, momma, just forwards. One foot in front of the other, out of the ooze and muck and onto the soft sand of a brand new day.
