Introduction to Pyohato (PLEASE READ DISCLAIMER BELOW)

Pyohato

Pyohato (ぴょ鳩) also known as Pyo (ぴょ) on social media, is an English/Japanese speaking artist and creator. He was working on a number of personal hobby projects that include games and animations in his spare time using characters he designs and draws himself, and has amassed a small following online. Pyo has stated to be a young hobbyist artist going under the pseudonym of Pyohato. He was formerly known as Pyokeke in 2015, though doesn't seem to use this handle anymore following an incident of drama on Tumblr. He is often portrayed as a Hoodpecker, seemingly the crying one, in icons or illustrations. Though sometimes the Pengi or Hatohane may be used instead. He has also sometimes drawn himself to be a human with glasses and fluffy hair in a ponytail, the ponytail seeming to be wing shaped. He's stated he is a pigeon. This is also evident in his handle Pyohato, literally meaning "Pyo pigeon". He has stated to be bisexual, mixed-raced (half-Jamaican), and living in the UK. He can speak Japanese and English. It is unknown where he currently is after leaving the internet and erasing his social media.

Sorry for bringing up the Pyokeke drama topic that happened way back at 2015, but it's been a very long time and Pyo sadly still hasn't come back. He's possibly very calmed after the (stupidly horrible) drama by now, but I'm trying to guess: Maybe Pyo's gonna be off the internet for eternity since he doesn't want more drama happening once he comes back. -Wannur

On topic of my first ask, finding out about the drama made me feel bad for Pyokeke, tbh, coming from a Mogeko fan herself who also has ocs that draw using inspired art styles. I mean, harassing someone just because they have a similar art style to someone else's is really stupid, especially if they claim said someone is "stealing" said someone else's art style. Like, you can't really copyright an art style. I sure hope this type of drama will not happen to everyone else, either... -Wannur

Everybody, please block, report, and don’t interact in any other way with @/pyokeke-mogeko (aka @/ChungusPyo on twitter). They have recently doxxed, cussed out, and harassed a small artist named pyohato, who had recently left the internet not too long ago. (TW: Their account contains nsfw).

I’ve literally came back to find that an artist I highly admire and respect is been getting death threats, messages saying she’s copying the artist’s work and such. She’s not. 

Her artwork has it’s own unique style, way different from the creator of Funamusea and uses that technique for multiple fandoms that she enjoys. She’s not copying anyone here. I’m a writer over on Wattpad, I write [Mogeko X Readers] for this fandom, sure there may be times that I will see something from somewhere and use for it for my stories but as artists will also do as writers, we’ll twitch it to something that is original and in our own style and liking but no, some of you will cause shit storms over the simplest of things. 

Sorry for this rant but something had to say before anything escalates, especially what happened to Pyokeke. I was only new to the fandom when I found out what happened to him and believe me, it’s disgusting on how some will treat other fellow artists in the fandom like that. 

Again, sorry for this but I hope you see where I’m coming from.

the PM drama ended in the best way possible, as one of my followers pointed out.  Wecoc is cool with his art being used, no one was burned at the stake, and me and a few others are trying to find other assets around the net so the team can either source it in the read me, ask permission to use it, or edit it out.  so much better than the pyokeke and ib dramas indeed

Hey uh If you dont mind me asking. Whats your opinion on whats happening recently (yknow about the bird and that certain blog) I'm kind of confused as to what happened tbh

First of all, let me thank you for asking me about this on my personal.  This drama has clearly escalated out of the RPG Maker fandom and into a whole new territory. 

Since my hand is on fire from some odd stuff that happened on skype a couple of days ago, I will just give you the highlights of what went down:

One

Two & Three (Turns out the new owners of Pyokeke were innocent.  Pyoblog claims it had no part running Pyotori off the net, and they’re just here for drama)

Four (a month after everything went down)

Five, Six (in which pyo is back)

Seven (in which drama returns)

In this, I will refer to the bird as Pyokeke and the certain blog as Pyokeke-Mogeko/P-M (I am lazy and do not wish to type the whole thing out). And yes, I’ll say their urls, because if I’m going to talk about them in public I might as well let them know I’m talking about them.  I wouldn’t want people speaking behind my back, you know?

Anyway, you want my opinion?  This isn’t my fight.  This isn’t even Pyokeke’s fight: all he has to do is ignore P-M and nothing will happen to Pyokeke himself.  This is a fight between 3 parties: P-M/their real identity on tumblr, the people P-M calls “pissbabies“, and whoever P-M is calling out in this post.

Oddly enough, they said they’re not scum enough to call out their own friends.  Since the intent of this post was to indirectly call out their friend and make the fandom go on an angry goosehunt to find said friend, this is the scummier way of doing things.  “I’m not going to call out my friend but I do it indirectly so I can cause even more people pain and paranoia. I don’t have to risk my own neck by putting it on my own blog/call them out myself, therefore I have indirectly absolved myself from calling my friend a bad person.”  

P-M really doesn’t care about the fandom.  They’ve said so before.  All they’re here to do is have a good tie pissing off their “friend” and the RPG Maker fandom at the same time, which is volatile and has enough drama for anyone to find thanks to @rpgmakergameconfessions.

Again, they’re not responsible for Pyokeke leaving tumblr (that’s a mystery for another day), but they are the kind of person who likes to put things up and are like “Eehh? Ehh? Am I right?”  They just picked the Pyokeke conflict in particular because they knew they would be getting the biggest storm from there.

I guess they get off being better than other people?  That’s all I can think.  Something like “Hah hah I’m not like those white knights or SJWs that don’t think for themselves” and I suppose that is one way to get validation but I’m pretty sure it’s not a healthy way to get validation. To trample those you think are lesser than yourself, no matter how justified you feel about it (it’s not like there isn’t some batshit crazy people here on tumblr), is selfish and thoughtless.  I understand someone who’s really into social darwinism saying “survival of the fittest”, but I’m not into that myself.

While I will not fight with them because it just adds fuel to their fire, I will criticism them for doing it since they are doing this fight in a public space (aka a public tumblr blog).  P-M is immature and I feel bad that they have a friend that does things that P-M doesn’t like morally.  That’s my opinion on that.

On the matter in question “Does Pyokeke get inspiration from Mogeko, and if he does, is he taking too much?”  …probably not.  There’s a lot of similar art out there, made by two people who don’t even know each other (check out emo ocs on DA - i mean, really).  This isn’t really a problem unless Pyokeke is directly tracing Mogeko’s art or copying plotlines/characetrs from Mogeko’s stories (that’s a bad idea because mogeko’s not the greatest writer :P).  I could sit here and start finding other artist who don’t know each other and have similar inspirations to each other for the hell of it and make a blog dedicated to that, but it would be about as interesting and productive as me making a blog all about dyer lint.  exciting.

I hope Pyokeke finds the courage to not care about this whole incident, as he’s been nothing but kind to me when I knew him and really is just trying his best.  I hope P-M’s thing works out with their friend, whether that means leaving the friend or not. 

And I hope to not speak upon this issue again, whether it’s here or Pinkuboa.  The only reason why I called P-M out the first time this issue happened is that I thought they were the culprit.  Turns out, they’re just enjoying other people’s misery, so they’re not my problem (again, I don’t feed trolls).

I just hope everything works out alright.

On that note I removed my previous FAQ question on my blog about pyokeke and now I’m going to put down a question on the faq that says “enough about pyokeke bro” since there’s a few people who say something about it once every season.  (I’m not mad, it’s just that it’s so far in the past I don’t feel like answering questions anymore so i’m gonna be lazy and put it there! :P)

oKAY, SCREW IT, I’M ADDING HIS GAMES TO THE WIKI.....IF I REMEMBERED WHAT THE TITLES WERE....

AHEM, anyway, I finally added some stuff after a long while. Other ppl added stuff too, thank you ^^

So first; I’ve changed the policy to no fan games accepted at this time. Sorry, but getting all of the original games organized is hard enough. When all that’s sorted out and maybe when a few more people pitch in, I’ll start adding fan games ouo.

Wanted to note appreciation for everyone trying to defend what they think is right. I think a lot of people tried to step up for justice or to protect folks on both sides, even if other people disagreed with them. That being said, I hope we can all get along a little more courteously-- it's very saddening to see the RPG Maker community fighting amongst themselves. A very serious issue, but concerned that this scale and particular manner seem very painful and taxing on everyone.

Yeah, I have no quarrels with those who tried to defend Pocket Mirror.  They were right to stand up and give them a chance, and I appreciate anyone who has a second opinion.  c:
