Waking up and finding Sofie on my floor is a new kind of therapy for me. White vans.. I will never learn. They get so dirty so fast. Oh, and see that guitar case? That’s my wing man. Grand Symphony Taylor mini. Hopping in the shower soon, I am being picked up to go fishing. I haven’t been since I was.. maybe 9 years old? My grandpa would wake me up around 5 in the morning and the first thing we’d do is drive to the gas station and get a cappuccino. Wow, did I feel I feel like a grown man drinking that muddy looking water. I could never understand at that age how something could look so bad, but be so sweet. 3 days off of Facebook and Instagram. Hello Tumblr.

Day 22 of social distancing -

- Spent the morning planting sunflowers. The first flowers I've planted this year. Most of the others I have are wildflowers and I have no idea where to put them.

- One of my sisters checked in today and prevented Poppy from eating a bee. She also spent a lot of time holding Poppy like a baby while Poppy sulked about not getting to eat the bee. Photos and video attached.

- Charlotte dropped off some books on her way past on her walk. She also brought the baby and held her up so I could see how chonky and cute she's gotten. She has chipmunk cheeks now!

- Had family cocktail night on Zoom again. Everyone seemed disappointed that Poppy was out on a walk (I feel so special) and we discussed when the proper time to plant a tree is (20 years ago).

- Turned around to again find Daisy peeing in a plant pot on the kitchen counter. I did not think this would happen again as the pot is way too small for her to hover over. This did not deter her, she simply ignored the fact that it half missed the pot and ended up on the counter top.

- Got some spring/Easter themed drawing done. Works in progress so no photos yet.

- Had some amazing German Easter dessert from my PA. 10/10. Would recommend.

- This is very late as there was an intense spider incident including me screeching, a spatula and me yelling at Poppy to "kill! Kill!" while she looks at me like I'm a crazy person

- Finished watching the Tiger King. Wtf was that?! It was so dark and depressing! I didn't sign on for that!

THE YOUNG POPE - 1x10

A wonderfully unnecessary finale, honestly a refreshing change from all the finales that go the whiz-bang dramatics route. And which this show could have easily done! But naw, they went with a strolling, wrap-up sort of episode. They really did what they had wanted to do with episode 9, that was the musical crescendo, and this just getting the house in order and waving everyone off. Bon voyage, The Young Pope.

Yes I do realize that I’m referring to a finale that ends about as finally as a show can as feeling mild, but that is my truth. It did feel that way!

Also my truth: holy BALLS did I love this show! I was fully expecting to enjoy it just as bullet-points, but I didn’t anticipate I would end up LIKING it as a work as much as I did. Paolo Sorrentino fit as many characters and stories in 10 episodes as would take most showrunners two seasons, and did it with such blithe sprezzatura that at times you barely felt the movement. What the hell my dude, and bravo.
