Everyone talking about Edge being a villain but a great dad reminds me of that short video ProZD made called ‘a really bad guy but a really good dad’. I just think that audio suits him. XD
The skits in question:

youtube
but yes, anon, I had the exact same thoughts while writing his character lolol - RJ

I think the thing w Lysandre and lack of subtlety is that he is passionate. Like, if he gets a very good meal he will go on at length at how well the ingredients blend and how well made it was and just. Be passionate. Thats the core of his character (Still forever obsessed that PRoZD mashed him and sephirot as a single character for his king dragon skits djfnfjf)
you are Correct. i just think a lot of people who haven't played the games in a while and remember him based on Vibes tend to talk about that particular facet as a Bad Thing – like he was meant to be written as this subtle villainous figure but it was executed badly. when imo that's just not the case at all? i think volo is closer to that idea honestly (ymmv on whether they pulled it off that time or not)
anyway i'm not going to go on a rant about this rn asgdasfasgsas but YES I LOVE LYSANDEROTH!! i think lysanderoth highlights the goofiness without making it seem like it's a Bad Thing. and honestly? i think he would do a good lysandre voice tbh,

Hello, I recently started following you and I apologize if this was already asked. But in all honesty did you like V's after ending? I regret so much playing it, I feel like it tainted the whole game to me. Plot wise after story was ok for me, but I hate how we are forced to forgive Rika and her actions.
I was mostly disappointed tbh. Now mind you, this is completely 100% my personal opinion, so if you enjoyed his after end and disagree with me, that’s valid. To each their own.
My opinions under the cut since it is going to be a little long.
What I liked:
I’ll go over the parts I did like first. I did like the moment with 707 and Vanderwood, was happy that Saeran was alive and the CGs were really pretty.
What I disliked:
1) Lack of Nuance
I sort of expected them to try to redeem Rika, but I did not expect it to be executed like that. The judge ending was incredibly condescending, and I hate how the options had no balance and were either “Rika was mentally ill. She did nothing wrong UwU” or “Rika needs to be burnt by a thousand suns and receive the death penalty”. It’s much more nuanced than that, and Cheritz seems so quick to dismiss the feelings of Yoosung, Saeyong and Jumin for not forgiving her immediately. Look, I understand Rika is mentally unstable and was raised under terrible circumstances, but letting her get off without any consequences considering the harm she’s done just because she had some encounter with God doesn’t make sense. That law does not work that way, and mind you, it’s not like I want a Rika torture porn (Like Cheritz would categories us), But she at least should be sent to a psychiatric ward/ Rehabilitation center under court law, and maybe in there, she might turn over a new leaf. It essentially boils down to “cool motive, still murder”
2) Glaring Plot holes
Now I’m not going to act like the plot of Mysme didn’t have plot holes from the start and fictional stuff like Zen’s psychic dreams, but some of them were really apparent in V’s after end. I’m relieved that saeran is alive, but how the heck did V even find him on time and ship him to Alaska? Mind you, at the time Ray blew up Mint Eye, V had not only been drugged but stabbed.
And as Rika calling out the Prime Minister is framed as a redemption arc, I honestly doubt that it would actually do anything. An easy rebuttal is that Rika has already been televised by the media to be 1) Mentally unstable, 2) a leader of a frickin cult 3) a manipulator, so i doubt Rika’s little TED talk would have convinced the public to impeach the PM. Mysme had plot inaccuracies from the get go (the whole timeline is kind of wonky) but the after end just magnified it by 10x.
Also Rika’s character in general? In the another story routes, even when you try to be understanding to her, she mocks you for trying to woobify her, telling you coldly that “she is not some sad girl to be saved” and seems to be aware of the harm her actions do, but does them anyway. And her saying she wanted to be a mother to Saeran, but in his route, it’s obvious she never liked him and saw him as second best compared to Saeyong, and thus treated him like absolute shit and destroying his self esteem. It seems Cheritz just changes Rika’s personality just to fit the plot
3) V’s Screen time
And not to mention how little V was in his own after end. I’m not made Rika is in it, since Rika is part of V’s backstory, like how they would not exclude Saeran from Saeyong’s after end/secret endings, but it is so weird how Rika essentially hijacked his after end. There was so many things to give closure for V’s route, such as repairing the trust between V and the RFA members from holding secrets, and possibly developing V and MC’s relationship (Given it wasn’t developed much in his own route) Halfway through, I almost thought it was Rika’s DLC.
4) It’s all due to mental illness!
Now, I’ve played a fair deal of otome/VN, and most of the time, Mental illness is not portrayed accurately or is used as a trope. I’m not looking at Cheritz for a webMD definition of mental illness, and that’s how I wasn’t super mad over the portrayal of BPD in Ray;s route. I’m sort of used to wonky interpretations of mental illnesses, but wow the “Mental illness was completely to blame” stance just grinds my gears. Rika’s actions included things such as starting a cult, brainwashing a child, and stabbing people. Saying that “She couldn’t help to do those things because of her mental illness” portrays people with mental illnesses as a ticking time bomb, that they are inherently dangerous as they can do such abhorrent things out of their control. There are many posts talking about this in depth, so I’ll just end this here. Tldr: I enjoyed bits of the after end, but overall I was just disappointed. Instead of being satisfied, I just felt more empty and confused.
V’s After end just reminds me of this ProZD skit

A Wild Ride
i dreamed i met and fell in love with a cute fish-woman, and then at christmas a grandparent saw some ‘porn’ on my laptop (which was actually drawing references) and a huge family fight happened, ending with me bring thrown out first thing on christmas day after my mother was ultimately forced to decide between me and my grandmother.
fish-woman and I ended up stranded in an airport (specifically the bit with all the shops and a complicated layout) and we just ended up having to make a life for ourselves there (she bought me a nice present because it was christmas and i spent ages looking for one for her but couldn't find anything she’d like).
This led into a sort of two-year timeskip montage where a bunch of events happened, including a disaster where part of the airport was destroyed (collapsed by raiders?) which resulted in us getting separated.
I spent another two years searching for her, becoming some kind of adventurer type in the process, until eventually i was hanging out with a friend (who was for some reason ProZD the internet-famous voice actor and comedy skit guy). He said something like “Wait, shouldn’t you try searching the airport terminal? You’ve been in the train terminus this whole time!”, and my mind was blown.
So I went back to the airport and found her almost immediately, in a restaurant, with what turned out to be our 2 year-old son.
Sadly, she was like ‘you were gone two years, I love you but I had to move on’ and she had married some guy. There was some sad times for a little while as i tried to adjust to the idea of life without her, and then i ended up meeting the husband.
I tried to be noble and warn him not to get die because of Pathos, but he showed me a briefcase full of ‘protection from such things’, including a crayon drawing his (my!) son had made for him. I failed to convince him that this only made him a more tempting target for the writers to kill off.
Later, I ended up having, to hang out with the guy and his gaming group (who hung out at the airport’s LGS). I was trying to be nice and get to know them somewhat (I still wanted to be a part of fish-woman’s life and that of my fish-son), but his friends kept being total dicks to me, and the tension between me and him kept almost breaking over into violence. He kept making cutting remarks, which i would let slide and try to keep calm, only for him to make another and it all to flare up again. Eventually, during a cooking competition, one of his friends (a wizard) said something that I couldn’t forgive, and I decked him. Things were about to flare into a full fight (which seemed to be what the husband wanted, presumably since it would make me seem petty and awful to fish-woman), but then...
I woke up.
So now I’m sitting here, telling you this story.
Trying to figure out how to adapt to life beyond an airport-world.
And feeling heartbroken about how i will never see Fish Woman ever again.

For fast paced youtubers:
Sam O'nella: makes fast, humorous videos with a slight bit of history trivia.
Jacksfilms, if you're into that (i dont kinkshame.)
You Suck At Cooking: Fast paced, well-edited and comedic cooking videos. I really like this one, usually 3-5 mins.
Adam Ragusea: Solid cooking, no-bs, no over the top stuff and he goes straight to the point while delivering very good informational content.
Daily Dose of Internet: If you're into it, it's nice. Basically a short compilation of stuff that the youtuber finds interesting, updated weekly. Can be really interesting, and some of the things you learn can be used as icebreakers. Videos are usually 2-5 mins long.
Lil' Kirbs: Super Mario Maker 2 god, if you like it. Usually makes entertaining videos explaining how he gets past insanely difficult levels. Videos are usually 2-6 mins long.
Value Select: I REALLY, REALLY recommend this one. Short, often really funny musical skits with good editing.About 30 secs to 2 mins long.
Brian David Gilbert from Polygon usually makes videos that are about 17 mins long, but they're fast paced and filled with content. Mind you I don’t have ADHD so this is all guesswork.
ProZD: Former viner, usually makes short skits making fun of anime.
Sabrina Abelina and gus johnson: often collaborate on skits. I can really vouch for this one personally, they're great.although they kinda get immature at times.
Casually Explained: Makes short videos explaining stuff in a comedic manner. Would recommend, although it's not that good.
NakeyJakey: A bit longer, but cozy and really nice. Usually makes videos on nostalgic stuff or videogames, like limewire, or how the first bioshock made him feel. Often emotional, always entertaining and well edited. Usually goes from 8-15 mins.
DeSinc: Guy who really explored the full extent of Half Life 2 bugs, and makes some really fun videos of him playing them. Really quick, usually 2-3 mins.
TheRealSullyG: Makes incredibly well edited full, frame by frame renditions of songs and their music videos using only Otomatones. Check him out, usually are just as long as the song is, so 2-4 mins
I hope this helps! I spend too much time on youtube.
What are some fast paced YouTubers?? I need more YouTubers to watch but a sis has trouble with paying attention to slow paced channels like Shane Dawson or basically any beauty gurus
