Lost in Translation

          Called William up today.   Didn’t get as emotional as the time I called Frank, but it was fine.   We talked for an hour afterwards, but I had to end the call short because I needed to call schools for my internship.   I called multiple schools, but only got replies back from two of them.   It’s alright, as long as there’s progress, I think I can convince my coordinators that I’m not that much of a flake. 

          Afterwards, I headed off to Project GOLD.   Jeff, our facilitator for Project GOLD, didn’t show up because he just got a new baby girl!   That’s so precious!   But anyways, today’s section was about vulnerability and connections.   It would appear that everybody that came to Project GOLD today confessed about their sense of alienation and loneliness - emotions which I find myself in for days, or maybe even weeks at a time.   

          And I guess, this topic tied back to a gum wrapper I unraveled a few days back.   It reads: “What mistake are you afraid to make?”   I obviously thought long and hard about it - I mean I took a picture of the wrapper!   I think the one thing that I fear the most would be the loss of human connection.   I mean, I still hate people, but I also adore them.   To imagine a world without other people, or with people just like me seems a bit dull.   I feel like it would be the epitome of madness itself. 

          Anyways, that’s a subject for another blog post though.   I also headed out to an Architecture lecture with some of my classmates from ED1.   Like all architecture lectures, it inspired me.   I feel like going to these events always make me fall in love with design again.   It’s a good break from all the things we do in ED1 and neat to see what good design can do.   I mean we attended this lecture for extra credit, and I fell partially asleep during the beginning half of the lecture, but it was a captivating lecture overall. 

          Went over to DL afterwards and got distracted.   Not a good place to study.   No internet/wi-fi there either.
