Yes I am posting more fic for In Another Life idk what to say it did something to my brain. This one is for BTHB: burns.

The bandages peel away easily. First one hand, then the other, then the gauze underneath.

Eddie doesn’t really need to be here for this, but the doctor asked Buck if he’d prefer if his visitor left, and Buck’s, “no,” was so quick that Eddie got goosebumps. So he’s here, standing in the corner of the room with one arm folded across his chest, chewing on his thumb nail and reminding himself that he’s not squeamish. That he’s an EMT, for fuck’s sake. He was an army medic. Just because it’s Buck—

Except there is nothing just about Buck.

“These are healing well,” the doctor says, and Eddie makes himself look as well. The skin on Buck’s palms is red and blistering, and he winces when the doctor gently moves his hand to check the damage, but she’s right: the burns are healing well. In a few weeks, they probably won’t be visible at all. Not even a scar to remember them by.

Buck’s eyes stay on his hands while antibiotic cream is applied and the gauze pads replaced.

“No more bandages?” he asks when the doctor starts packing up the supplies.

“I think you’ll be okay without them,” she smiles, “just try not to touch the burn area too much, okay?”

Buck nods. He’s a little paler than he was when the doctor came in, Eddie thinks, but she either doesn’t notice or isn’t concerned. He tells himself that means he doesn’t need to be concerned either, but. It’s Buck. He’s not sure he knows how to turn off concern.

“I can go,” he offers, when it’s just the two of them again, “if you want to get some rest.”

Buck shakes his head, rubbing at his eyes. “‘M sick of resting.”

Eddie raises his eyebrows, unimpressed. “You remember you got struck by lightning, right?”

Buck huffs, then coughs, knuckles digging into his chest. Eddie’s heart stutters for a moment, his own breath held while he waits for Buck to catch his, and he has to grip his arms tight to stop himself from—he doesn’t even know what. Leaping forward, running away, putting his hands over his ears so he doesn’t have to listen to his best friend struggling to breathe again.

God, the things he would give to never have to listen to that again. To never feel the dead weight of Buck’s body in his hands again. Never have to feel the crack of ribs under his hands trying to get Buck’s heart to start beating again.

To never have to go home to his son and say, “Buck is in the hospital, it’s bad,” again.

Eddie swallows, and blinks back the itchiness in his eyes, and forces himself not to look away.

“Rest,” he repeats when Buck has caught his breath, non-negotiable this time. “I’ll call Bobby if I have to.”

“You wouldn’t,” Buck shoots back immediately, but the way he glares at Eddie says he knows the threat is real.

“Please?” Eddie tries, gentler this time. “Just lie down, close your eyes. You don’t have to sleep.”

Buck’s glare turns suspicious. He knows that trick—has used it on Christopher himself, maybe even on Jee-Yun—but Eddie stands his ground and doesn’t squirm.

Buck gives in first.

“Fine,” he sighs. “I’ll rest.”

He says the word like it has a bad taste, but he lies down. Closes his eyes. Opens them a moment later to sit up slightly and fuss with the blankets, pinching with his fingers so he doesn’t have to move his hands too much.

Definitely hurting, Eddie concludes.

“Let me,” he says, and he steps forward before Buck can argue, taking the blanket and tucking it more comfortably around him. “Better?”

“You’re staying?” Buck asks instead of answering, head turned toward him on the pillow.

“Yeah,” Eddie agrees, pulling up a chair, “I’m staying.”

Buck hums—good—and lets his eyes closed. “’S better.”

When I’m not alone, Eddie thinks he means.

“I’ll be right here if you need anything,” he says, reaching out one more time to readjust the blanket, even though it doesn’t really need readjusting. “Are you going to sleep?”

“No,” Buck answers, but he already sounds like he’s fading. “Talk to me?”

“What about?”

“I don’t know. Anything.” Buck yawns, then winces, rubbing at his brow. “Have you seen It’s a Wonderful Life?”

“Everyone has seen It’s a Wonderful Life, Buck,” Eddie answers, even though he’s pretty sure that’s not true. Statistically or whatever. He only watched it because he had an English teacher who said she’d give extra credit to anyone who wrote an essay about the motifs, or metaphors, or something like that. He remembers crying in front of the TV, and trying to pretend that he wasn’t, acutely aware that his dad might get home from work at any moment.

“Chimney made me watch it,” Buck tells him, smiling a little at the memory it brings up. “I fell asleep halfway through and he was so annoyed that he wouldn’t tell me how it ends.”

Eddie laughs. That sounds exactly like something Chimney would do. He’s had plenty of his own Chimney-enforced movie nights since joining the 118.

“You’ll be laid up for a few weeks,” he reminds Buck, “I’m sure Chim can find some time to watch it with you again.”

“Yeah,” Buck agrees, tiredness making his voice fuzzy. “Maybe.”

Quiet falls and stretches between them for long enough that Eddie thinks Buck has fallen asleep when he rouses himself to ask, “It’s got a happy ending, right?”

There’s something in the way he says it—something in his voice, in the way he curls his hands on top of the thin hospital blanket—that makes Eddie think he’s not just talking about the movie.

“Yeah,” he answers quietly, reaching out to lay a hand on Buck’s wrist, touching for the first time since the doctors swept Buck away in the ER. “It’s got a happy ending.”

“Good,” little more than an exhalation. Buck’s chest rises and falls, and rises and falls, and rises and falls. Under Eddie’s hand, his heart beats steady.

Good, Eddie’s mind echoes, because it is now. Buck is okay now. Not healed, not yet, but okay.

When he’s sure Buck is asleep, he pulls out his phone and goes straight to the group chat he has with Chimney, Bobby, Hen and Maddie. Patient is okay, he texts. Burns are healing well, bandages came off. He’s sleeping now.

And then, after another moment’s thought: We should have a movie night when Buck is home.

Then he sits back, while his phone buzzes with a burst of hearts, an omg yes from Chimney, and a slew of planning details that follow. He can’t help but smile, watching Buck’s eyelashes flutter, his nose scrunching in his sleep, and for the first time since that lightning struck, Eddie feels like he can breathe.

Long post rambling abt my SaH continuation au

Might not make tooooo much sense but I’m trying

Ok!!

So, it continues where ep 32 left off, bam in the gas chamber WHOOOOOOO I love child murder!! And it mainly Geum’s mental state during it, how he’s going back at forth between saving bam and keeping his cover, he manages it (how idk yet shhhhh) and he gets Bam and co out of the gas chambers and hides them under the tunnel system of the Wolf Den where people won’t find them

Geum expects to be able to calm down from this, but he can’t, for some reason his heart keeps racing and he can’t focus and he seems to be hearing something, or someone but it’s too faint for him to really make out yet

He ignores it though, it’s PROBABLY nothing right???

Bamsaegi and co wake up and are found by other FH scouts that came as backup, even though Bam doesn’t really wanna leave yet since he hasn’t even really seen Geum yet, but alas he has no choice but to go back home and come back later

For Geum, things go around the same as usual,

The wolves have a new plan!!! They realize that the Flower Hill soldiers are on fucking crack and are willing to die for just about anything and aren’t afraid of them, so they’re using a lil sci-fi…ish machine to use people’s fears against them and what better way to test it out is throw Geum right into the machine!! Aren’t they sooooo nice?

Now the wolves can’t see Geum’s fear, but they can see his reaction so Geum still has to be careful during this. They wanna see Geum overcome whatever it is hes afraid of (if he’s even afraid of anything) so he can fight against flower hill better and also to see how strong the machine even is (and to perhaps see if he’s really a spy according to Vixen!)

Geum goes in, but it’s weird, it’s nothing nightmarish or even scary its honestly pretty nice, a night open field, lots of flowers, reminds him of home. He can even hear someone humming, who is that anyways? He gets closer and sees a squirrel, is it Jul? There’s no way he’s afraid of Jul. Bam? No, he’s not really scary either, even if he was afraid of losing him it’s not something that would stall him really, but it’s neither of those things. It’s…Him. Him before he was a soldier.

Geum is OBVIOUSLY confused, why is he seeing HIMSELF in something that’s supposed to be his biggest fear, it disturbs him, especially since the other Geum keeps trying to talk to him! He’s so nice?? The complete opposite of him! Was this really how he was?? Why was this his biggest fear??

“Who…What are you?!”

“I’m you! Silly! Finally you start talking! I was worried you went deaf or something!”

“You aren’t me! You’re nothing like me!”

“Well not anymore! You’re a soldier now! Funny how people can change so quickly. It hasn’t even been that long and you can’t even recognize yourself.”

“What the hell…?? Is this thing broken this can’t be my biggest fear this-this is…!”

“Are you okay? You don’t look so good…”

Geum with all the questions racing through his head and the machine being very taxing, passes out before he can finish the test so has to be taken to the infirmary

He has a splitting headache when he woke up, Vixen was near him, asking what happened in there. Geum lies and says he doesn’t remember. Vixen is suspicious but just tells him to relax for a bit and that he can finish the test when he’s recovered, making a comment about how she was pleasantly surprised that he was afraid of something.

Geum hates waiting. He hates staring at the ceiling but these damn mice nurses won’t let him leave until he’s “perfectly healed” or whatever!! It’s late, he hears that faint noise in his head again, familiar but he still can’t quite make it out. He falls asleep.

Midnight, or later, he wakes up, it’s like his body jolts awake and moves on its own, he’s so dizzy but he can’t stop, no one seems to be stopping him either for some reason, he’s outside, none of the nurses even tried to stop him this time. He’s on a flower patch and kinda just…Falls on it. “I remember you giving me a bouquet in a place like this!” A familiar voice said, this time it was so clear. It was Goseumdochi!

Geumsaegi feels like hes going insane, he KNOWS goseumdochi is dead but he can hear him and he can see him! He’s RIGHT THERE! But he can’t touch him, it’s like he’s a ghost! He asks questions, a million of them, but with no answers, Goseum just stares at him and smiles.

And thus begins Geum’s slowly breaking! Varies things happen but two things remain consistent, he keeps going into the fear machine (and failing) and he keeps seeing Goseumdochi and failing to talk to him.

For the first arc of the story this is a constant and it eventually ends with him beating the machine by just…Killing the other version of him. After which Goseum finally starts to answer him.

This leads into Geum eventually questioning things about Flower Hill and himself,

But he isn’t the only character going through a revelation, part 1 Juldarami!!!!! Where is he anyways?

Jul was of course, recovering from the bullet he took. But now he’s fully recovered and ready to help and find Geum. And by GOD he is worried because the commanders, NO ONE, has heard anything from him. Radio silence.

Jul is determined to get to the bottom of it. He goes undercover with his only mission being finding Geum. One problem though, Geum is avoiding him HARD. Everytime Jul gets close Geum runs 20 feet away, so basically it’s a game of cat and mouse with Jul losing his MIND trying to find Geum, and eventually listing the help of…Bamsaegi!!!!

Bamsaegi feels absolutely awful for what’s happening and thinks it’s his fault, so he helps Jul try to find Geum whilst learning about the world outside Flower Hill as he goes undercover and getting particularly close with Huin (which causes him to defect later on!)

Through this both of them learn that Geum…Isn’t exactly the greatest, idolization isn’t a fun thing when the person sucks BALLS.

That’s basically the gist of it, few more things tho,

Throughout this Vixen is doing her own plot to overthrow Commander Wolf and eventually does so Geum has to deal with that during his whole crisis,

Mul!!!! I haven’t exactly finished his whole thing but here’s basically what I have so far!

Mulmangcho is still trying to get Geum exposed as the spy, and he’s getting desperate now that Geum has basically ousted his former position. So he needs to reset things, find himself, BEAT any fear he has so he can crush that squirrel and rip that beautiful fluffy tail of his! So he goes into the fear machine when no one is looking,

His fear is…Weird. It’s a maze with seemingly no exit. Every door leads to another door and those door lead to 39 revolving exit doors that lead him back where he started! It’s frustrating! He hates it! And he’s raging HARD!

He keeps hearing something, like someone is laughing at him. He keeps following and following, until he sees…Geum.

Well great his biggest fear is Geum WHAT A SURPRISE! This thing must be Einstein! Except Geum is…Weird, he isn’t talking, he’s just kinda…Standing there, Mul takes a step forward, he takes a step back, he keeps moving, Geum keeps moving, he runs, Geum runs, but to where?

Mul keeps following Geum, he seems to be getting farther in the Maze than he did before, in the background he can hear glimpses of his life but he isn’t really focusing on that. Geum is leading him to an exit! He’s almost done—And his brother pulls him out of it before he can finish.

Great.

Still, he didn’t understand, he wasn’t scared or nervous throughout the entire thing, so why was that his biggest fear?

(I’m thinking it can lead to Geum and Mul slowly understanding each other!)

It all ends with Geum quitting the military tho and seeing that the commanders SUCK so fun!!!

Here’s a bunch of cool Easter eggs/potential references I’ve noticed with Karai’s sprites in Shredder’s Revenge. I’ve already done a color reference post for Karai though (which you can read here), so I won’t go over that very much in this post.

Firstly, her electrocution animation, 2nd pallet option and “flying attack” animations all seem like references to her time as Shredder in various media. As seen below, she displays a Shredder helmet and Foot Clan symbol when her bones light up. Then as I mentioned in my “Karai color references” post, her 2nd pallet is similar to colored Mirage depictions of the Shredder.

For her flying attack, she uses claws which I think she’s generally only seen with when wearing Shredder’s armor. Additionally, I think it might be a reference to X-Men’s Wolverine, most likely in one of the Marvel Vs Capcom games. I couldn’t find a specific move he has though quite like this though.

Like her flying attack, I think this is 2 references. 1st is that I’m pretty sure she did specifically fight with a chain in the 2003 show quite a bit and I’m not sure she did much (if at all in other versions). 2nd, it reminds me a lot of Scorpion’s “Get Over Here” from various Mortal Kombat games. It’s also the only Charged Attack that pulls in opponents.

While I’m not sure about any Karai-specific references for her “Super Flying Attack,” it does seem similar to Magneto’s Magnetic Shockwave in Marvel vs Capcpm 3.

Her standard attack string (“combo attack”) does look similar to moves both Ryu and Ken have done, although I’m not sure if either of them have all the attacks in one game (feeling like it may be MvC3 Ryu, but idk). Captain Falcon does seem like he has practically all the attack, even though realistically I don’t think you’d ever combo them all the way Karai does. Also, the string seems generic enough to probably look closely to multiple other fighting game characters.

Next are all the TMNT Tournament Fighters references. As mentioned in my Color References post, Karai has 3 (maybe 4) colors from the Genesis and SNES. In terms of her animations however, I think most (if not all), of them are for her SNES appearance.

As to what references there are, firstly I do want to mention her “neutral” stance is practically the same in this game and SNES TF. I can’t put anymore pictures in the post since I’m already at 30 pictures/gifs for the post and don’t think I can put anymore in, but you can see it in a lot of my gifs for both games.

Second is her dash attack which resemble her godly walk animation. It doesn’t have a hitbox in TF, but it’s also incredibly fast.

Third is her “Fling Slam” which ends off similar to her “Air Breaker” attack in TF. There may be a different command grab it’s specifically referencing, but I’m not sure, especially when there’s a plethora of command grabs in fighting games (off the top of my head though, it does end similar to a Tager grab from BlazBlue).

Fourth is her Dive Attack which looks similar to a dive kick she has in TF. It may not send her full screen, be as insanely fast nor cover up so much of the screen, but it’s still cool.

Fifth is TF’s Dark Thunder. Both her taunt and standard super remind me of Dark Thunder, the ladder especially since she can literally say “Dark Thunder” sometimes when she does it.

Last of the TF references for now is her “Super Flying Attack” which is similar to both Lightning Fists and one of her air normals.

As a side note, the TF air normal specifically is so incredibly good lol. She is a boss character in that game and her moveset in general is nuts so I get why it’s like that, but I love it. I do the air normal 3 times in the gif and I think it literally true string-ed into itself for the last 2.

This isn’t the rest of her animations, but I feel like they’re probably references as well. I do want to acknowledge Karai has used a sword multiple times before in multiple versions, but I don’t know more specifics than that.

Yes! I have seen this. I’m really glad they mentioned they won’t tolerate antisemitism.

It seems like they’ll be allowing the spamming of FtRttS, flags, and watermelon emojis. But if they actually manage to encourage the participants to to not just demand a ceasefire but to ask them to call on their representatives to demand a negotiated ceasefire in which both sides actually cease to fire, then I’m happy enough.

I have said repeatedly that I don’t think the folks at Drawfee are bad people. I think that there is some unexamined antisemitism that is not unique to any member of Drawfee and is common in basically anyone who has not actively engaged in antiracist work about antisemitism specifically.

I trust that they want to do good.

I think in general this statement is really good because it addresses a lot of the main concerns that people brought up online about how silence encourages antisemitism.

But I also think that it will leave some Jews feeling alienated for understandable reasons. I’m not going to detail those reasons here in this post or in any post I tag with “Drawfee,” because I’m not in the habit of trying to hurt people who are trying to improve themselves and grow.

As for me personally? Idk. This statement really helped a lot. I love the gang. I have all three of Julia’s drawtectives posters on my wall. I have the Trans Rigs keychain and pride rights shirt. I have the post cards framed in various places around my home. I even have the book!

It actually made me ill to look at them before this statement—not because they owe me anything. I want to emphatically state that none of them owe me anything. But I won’t pretend it didn’t have an affect on me when I saw them engaging with blatant propaganda sources—knowingly or not. Speaking for myself and only myself: I just couldn’t emotionally handle that I had spent so much time supporting creators who might actively hate me. But now I’m back to being happy to see the Drawfee merch around me home. It reminds me of the enjoyment their content brought me.

NGL, though. I’m still pretty wounded by how nasty things got for no reason, so idk if (again, just speaking for myself here and not encouraging anyone to follow my lead in any way) I will be able to engage with the content anymore.

I want to! But I also think they probably do NOT want me to. I’m just one fan and I think my interactions, however well intentioned, caused them stress and anxiety.

I feel wounded that they interpreted my actions in a manipulative way despite my repeated attempts to make clear they were in good faith. They likely feel wounded because I (unintentionally) inspired controversy in response to what they felt was an unambiguously good deed.

Of course, they might not know or care about me specifically at all, which is fine! Who knows‽ Only they can.

Either way, whether they are indifferent to me or angry with me or annoyed at me or whatever, I feel a lot of complex ways about everything that happened during this particularly stressful time.

So, idk. I’d love to enjoy their content again. And depending on how well they curb antisemitism in the stream (which is dependent on whether or not the mods educate themselves enough on what antisemitism even looks like, which seems to be one of the main issues at play in modern discourse), I might feel safe enough to watch their content again.

It’s hard to imagine feeling that same kind of comfort that I used to though, given everything. But that’s ok. That is a personal boundary for me based on my own needs. It’s an unpleasant feeling, but it doesn’t make them bad people or me a bad person. Everyone is gonna have their own boundaries and limitations about topics this sensitive.

It really grounds you, you know? They are regular people living their lives. I’m glad that most of us respect their boundaries and don’t cross that line of looking into their personal/familial relations that don’t have anything to do with well, anything. I feel like that Reddit post about Van’s potential address is both a pro and a con; they’re asserting that the platform won’t be used for that and I agree, it’s very inappropriate but at the same time, bad actors knowing they just have to look hard enough for it, has the potential to backfire. Like compared to handling it quietly without drawing much attention to it but I don’t know. Though it’s really a matter of how you look at it, I suppose.

My favourite album is definitely The Balcony! I love the other two but I feel it just has the most replay value to me. Every time I play Kathleen, I listen to the alternative version afterwards and it makes me so sad that they changed it! I’m a massive sucker for 26 and Anything, they’re my top two songs. The whispering in 26 makes me go completely feral! And the first time I listened to Anything, I somehow missed the little chuckle Van does and now, I can’t help playing it back a handful of times before I can listen to something else.

Yeah agree about the Reddit thing, on one hand it’s good to remind people about this kinda thing but then I feel it sometimes encourages people to look for stuff… idk thankfully I think most people are respectful. Like you say they are just normal people underneath it all and we only know the persona they project, like everyone they are entitled to their privacy and to go about the lives how they want.

The Balcony is my fave too! I was actually surprised as I feel a lot of the newer fans tend to favour The Balance. God I love The Balcony so much, played that record to absolute death I love it so much ❤️ 26 is an interesting choice, I feel it’s pretty underrated and probably most people’s least favourite out of the balcony tracks. Omg yes THAT bit - it makes me feel a certain type of way uhhh 😮‍💨 And I adore Anything, the lyrics, Bondy’s guitar solo, when they play it live and the way Van sings those last few lines… and I didn’t hear the laugh on the recorded version straight away either! I love those little incidental bits on records. Like the sounds in the back of Hourglass (and Van’s sigh before he starts playing 😭)

Nintendo Direct Thoughts! Part 1

I was super hyped for this direct but as the past has shown with these things I didn't want to get my hopes up. I knew they would show something Zelda related and that was pretty much the extent of my excitement. But boy was I wrong. This was probably one of the best directs in the past I don't even know. After it was over I didn't know what to think and needed a bit of time to gather my thoughts. So here we are. I thought this would be a nice little (rather long) first post for my page. And this is definitely something new for me. So here we go!

Pikmin 4

I have never played any of the Pikmin series but I can definitely see the appeal. These cute little strange characters running around, plus the graphics look great and it looks like tons of fun and man that adorable little pikmin dog (is it a dog?? a alien bug dog?? idk still cute though). I probably won't be picking this up because it's not my thing but very excited for those that are fans.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 ex Pass Vol. 3 and Vol. 4

Never played the series but have thought about giving it a shot a few times here and there because I like the art style and of course anything with crazy designed weapons. My extent of knowledge on turn based RPGs still simply only lies with Pokemon (lol). So ultimately I will have to pass on this one. Excited for the fans of course!

Samba De Amigo: Party Central

Alright so I don't have much to say about this game. From my brief research on it, it's a Sega game and it was on the WII. It reminds me of a mix between dance dance revolution and guitar hero but with maracas. I like the vibrant colors and it would be a fun party game, but yeah definite pass. So moving on!

And now I guess they're doing a crossover DLC. So I might just have to pick this up soon!

Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the lost Demon

I know the appeal of Bayonetta…but for sure not for me. I will say that I enjoy the art style and it’s very reminiscent of a lot of indie games coming out right now. The art is like a watercolor sort overlay, so I can dig that. But respectfully I will pass on this one.

Splatoon 3: Expansion Pass

Splatoon is a cool concept and the color usage is amazing. I unfortunately have never played any of the games. I know that it has a huge fan base and all and I’m sure people are excited about this. Maybe in the future I’ll cave in and buy it.

A/n: hello! Sorry I let this sit in my inbox for so long, but now I’m answering it! I think I might’ve already written kokomi pining headcanons… but I can’t remember if I actually posted them, so either way I’m writing it again! Anyways, hope you enjoy, and remember to take care of yourself!

Kokomi is someone who is rather busy with her work, and then when she has free time her mind is typically somewhere else. With that in mind, I think it would take a while for her to actually realize she has feelings for you.

However, when she does realize she has feelings for you, she’ll most likely take a little bit to herself to… process almost. I feel that for kokomi to have romantic feelings for someone, they would have to be rather close to her, either as a close friend, or someone who works with her in some sort of way. So with that, I think she’d avoid you for a day or two, to really just think… more or less.

Kokomi pining for someone is a very strange sight to many, as her head will be flooded with thoughts of you, and she may get distracted at times. However, don’t think that she just constant has her head in the clouds, because she will of course do her job as head shrine maiden, but… maybe a few times will she get distracted by something that reminds her of you.

Kokomi I feel would confess rather quickly, mostly because of ho long she had feelings for you without truly realizing it. She would probably confess by taking you on a walk along the beach, gazing out at the ocean. It gave her a bit more confidence. She would want to confess early because six you didn’t feel the same way, I think she would want to put her feelings behind her so you could still be friends. If that makes sense? She does genuinely have feelings for you, but she also wants you to answer honestly on whether you feel the same about her.

Itto probably mistook his feelings of adoration, for feelings of “oh my god they’re so cool I wanna beat them at something >:)”

But, oddly enough he realizes fairly early on that those two feelings… aren’t the same, and then understands that he just… loves you. He doesn’t want to fight you necessarily, he just has feelings for you. (That isn’t going to mean that he won’t challenge you to onikabuto fights at least 30 times a week.)

It is so clear he likes you. From how he’ll be loudly screwing around with his gang, and then turn to you, and speak in a more hushed and careful tone, to the way he becomes redder than his horns when you patch him up after he challenged sara again, and of course lost.

Itto is so clearly love struck, that his gang members will notice immediately. Teasing him a little, before helping him out with confessing. How do they help? Obviously by pushing you to closer together of course. Ittos going to catch onikabutos? Cool you’d love to go with him! Itto’s gonna go to ritou in search of Sara, so he can demand a rematch from her? Yup you’re going too! Itto needs a travel buddy of course!

Though after a while I think itto would get kinda restless (and maybe a little frustrated), and just… blurt out that he has feelings for you. You’d be having ramen at one of your favorite places, and he’d just say “haha yeah I love you.” Kinda randomly. It obviously takes you off guard, but he’d reassure you that you don’t have to feel the same way of course, and that even if you don’t feel the same way you could both still be friends! He really just admires you in some sort of way, and would still wanna stay friends, kinda like kokomi.

Isn’t really that big of a fan of the holiday, but he puts on a brave face for Klee and pretends to enjoy it

Spends Christmas with you, Klee and Alice ! Isn’t a big fan of social interaction so he keeps to himself with you three, where he feels most comfortable.

Definitely makes Christmas cookies and manages to turn them into a masterpiece of culinary arts. Bonus - Solar isotoma and Dodoco cookies that taste like heaven and look just as good !!

I touched on this briefly in another post, but he’d make the snow creations you make together come to life, revelling in the joyful grin on your face

Definitely prefers giving gifts than receiving them, and most likely makes them himself instead of buying something, as he finds it gives his gift a much more personal touch.

I’d like to think Klee, you and Alice take the backseat or help out while Albedo is in the kitchen. Much like with his experiments, he doesn’t like it when he’s distracted or others interfere, so he tries his best to let you know that you are not welcome in the kitchen while his cooking. But due to his polite nature, he won’t outright tell you. You can just tell from his body language and facial expressions that he doesn’t exactly want you around at the moment.

It was 100% worth it though, the meal you had was delicious !!

Overall, he’s not very festive, but he uses this as time to spend with his loved ones and family, as he doesn’t usually have the time, so Christmas with him is pleasant and comfortable. Homey, would be the way I would describe it

Loves both giving and receiving gifts, I think he’d really like receiving smaller things that are more personal, like sea shells from the beach you went to on your first date? Nothing too expensive, but he LOVES giving expensive gifts. Toys, jewellery, clothing, you name it, he’ll buy it no matter what the cost. (He just likes to flex,,,)

Cuddles by the fire, the two of you bundled up under a thick blanket with hot chocolates. Yes. Childe is all over you, by the way. Don’t think he’s not clingy because he definitely is.

I’m sorry, but have you seen his speciality dish? This man can’t cook for shit. You’ll have to do that, or at least, help his parents with the cooking while he entertains his siblings

If he has to pick, he would probably prefer receiving gifts. Only because he has absolutely no idea on what mortals like. Not to mention, it makes him feel fuzzy inside when you give him something because you actually thought of him and thought he would like it. It just,,, makes him feel appreciated.

Spends time with Zhongli, Ganyu, Hu Tao and Qiqi, as he sees them the closest to family that he can get. (Especially Zhongli, 100% sees him as a father figure)

Adepti don’t need to eat, so he doesn’t care what you cook, he’ll try anything as long as it’s not overly spicy. He’s not picky.

Snow is a bittersweet thing to see for him. On one hand, he’s happy you’re happy when you see it, but on the other it reminds him of events from the past he wants to keep there... Best stay away from it to not bring up any unwanted memories.

One thing he actually would really enjoy is, surprisingly, mistletoe! He won’t admit it, but he finds the sentiment behind it actually rather heartfelt. And he also gets kisses from you so what’s to hate-

I really think he’d be into walking with you around Mondstat, hand in hand and enjoying the festive atmosphere.

He actually likes Christmas, it reminds him of happier times with his father and Kaeya when they were younger.

He has no preference on giving of receiving gifts, as long as he gets to see you smile

You’d think he was pretty grumpy, but he’s actually just enjoying everything quietly. But inside the mansion, it feels like stepping onto a children’s storybook

Has a huge tree, intricately decorated with baubles, tinsel and fairylights. There’s already presents wrapped neatly underneath. You know those big reindeers you get in animal crossing? Yeah, imagine those outside of the entrance.

He hates alcohol, so he tries to make an alcohol free mulled wine on year. It tasted awful, and he’s not touched it since.

Not a bad cook! You two cook together in the kitchen instead of the maids and it’s a very pleasant experience. You’re in charge of chopping and peeling while he’s in charge of actually cooking things. It’s a nice, comforting dynamic

You eat together at that huge table, but it doesn’t feel empty with the two of you chatting and laughing over the huge meal you both prepared together.

Christmas with Diluc is just,,, so nice. It’s never overbearing, it’s joyful. Peaceful, overall. Yes.

I’ll be real, I don’t think he’s that big of a fan. It just brings up painful memories of when things were better between him and Diluc.

Prefers receiving gifts, he just likes it when he’s spoiled, what can he say? But of course seeing your face light up whenever he gives you something is also something he enjoys.

“It’s definitely Captain Rex. ” Tula, a Rodian nurse from the 212th, stated decidedly. You giggled into the shitty GAR rationed caf.

“That’s just cause your into blondes.” You teased, content with the rounds of chuckles at the mess hall table as Tula’s teal cheeks blushed blue.

“I still don’t know why we’re having this conversation, they’re clones, they all look the same! Thats like the whole thing.” Rys groaned uncomfortably, the only man at the table of civilian enlistments. It was rare for some many of your friends to be in the same place at the same time- but medical staff and engineering alike, every six months after your first deployment civilian enlistments were shipped back to Coruscant for a week long training refresher.

“You can’t say that, it’s rude!” Tula slapped his arm, eyebrow ridges furrowing over her galaxy eyes. He held his hands up in surrender.

“Yeah Rys, we won’t assume you’re any less straight if you admit that Wolffe is clearly the most attractive.” Raina grinned, her peach colored lekku twitching at the thought of the commander. You considered the idea but shook your head as other names got thrown around.

Kix, Fives, Bly, Keeli, Cody, and a couple other names you didn’t quite recognize the names of were tossed around the table. Haircuts, scars, tattoos, personality all became deciding factors as you at your dinner, occasionally chiming in to tease your friends.

“Ok then, who do you think the hottest soldier is?” An engineer from some outer moon data post asked after you teased her for her choice- Tup, a younger soldier in the 501st that you hadn’t met since your transfer to Clone Force 99.

You held your hands up, ready to evade the question. But Raina interjected, a challenging look on her face. You’d gone through academy with the peachy colored twi-lek and her sharp tongue was almost faster than her flying. You knew that look, and it didn’t bode well.

“If you don’t answer, I’ll tell every trooper I see all week that you said it was them.” She threatened with a smirk that said she already knew she had won. The smirk grew to a grin when you let out a defeated sigh.

“Well, in my own personal opinion, that Crosshair is the most attractive man we work with.” You admitted quietly. An honest answer on your part, you did think he was attractive even if you’d never say it to his face. Immediately, several pairs of disbelieving eyes landed on you.

“What? He doesn’t even count!” Rys pointed an finger at you to emphasize his point, “he doesn’t even look like the other clones!”

You shrugged as Tula slapped the back of his head again, her voice scolding as she hissed, “You can’t say that either!”

Then she looked at you, “Really though? He’s meaner than a burned gundark.”

“He’s scary.” Raina nodded.

“He’s an ass.” Another one of the 212th enlistments echoed from down the table. You’d forgotten that a few of the units they were assigned to probably had worked with Clone Force 99 at some point. Nevertheless, suddenly, you felt a need to defend the sniper who had finally become what you’d consider a friend.

“Ok, so it takes a while to get to know him, but...” you started, thinking of all the amazing qualities no one else saw because they weren’t with him all the time, “he’s loyal to a fault, really funny, always pulls me out of sticky situations and usually manages to keep me out of them to begin with, once you get to know him and how he is, you see how much he cares about his-“

“Ok, sure,” Raina cut you off, clearly not believing the cold eyed sniper could care about anything or anyone. She paused to pitch her voice up, flutter her eyelashes, and clasp her hands beside her face like a cartoon princess, “we don’t know him like you do~”

She interrupted herself with a snicker before she continued in her normal voice, “and all that bantha crap, but this is about attractiveness. What makes him hot? And don’t give me any of this, personality is all I look at shit.”

“And if I tell you, you’ll leave me alone?” You asked, though it was more of a demand. Tula nodded, she had always been a little boy crazy, and was dying to hear the scoop. You sighed again, hoping your cheeks weren’t too flushed, “fine, He’s very unique looking, in all the best ways. He’s very tall and lean, but crazy built. I’m into the silver hair, and believe it or not, under the armor that man has the best ass you’ll ever see.”

Tula was leaning on the table, giggling wildly at the juicier bits of you description. Raina had leaned back in her seat, and rolled her eyes, “To each their own, I suppose.”

Fortunately for you, the conversation switched to complaining about to the soldiers that were in charge of your training. There was a rumor the Fox used “civilian training” as punishment for his men when they earned a reprimand. It made sense, all the Coruscant guardsmen that were tasked with running drills with you weren’t exactly thrilled to be there. As if any of you were either.

“Yeah, I definitely don’t understand that attitude. We get it, you don’t want to be here, neither do we, but we are so let’s just get it over with- with out the..... are you even listening?” You were in the middle of your tangent when it was clear none of your group was listening to you. Instead there were all staring over your head with varying looks of slight fear, curiosity, and overall disdain. Tula was the one who attempted to subtly point behind you. At first you feared it was one of the troopers in charge of your training, so you quickly turned around with a forced apologetic look on your face.

To your surprise, you found Crosshair. Helmet free, as usual he had a toothpick between his teeth as he gave your group an appraising sweep. He had the same look on his face that he did when he was sizing up ‘the regs’- until he got to you. It took a year for him to stop looking at you that way, but his slight sneer eased out to neutral-which when it came to the sniper, it might as well have been an ear to ear grin.

“Crosshair! What are you doing here?” You asked, turning around in your seat. In addition to his sudden appearance, just his president was slightly confusing. Typically, Hunter would come himself, or send Tech- all to avoid a potential fight. Your training mates looked slightly bewildered at the amicable exchange.

“Springing you. We’ve got an assignment.” He shrugged after plucking the toothpick from between his lips. Like a true creature of habit, he started twirling the stick between his fingers. You quirked an eyebrow motioning to the other civilians.

“You can’t ‘spring me’, it’s GAR regulation for me to do this training refresher.” You reminded him, he rolled his eyes- but you weren’t sure if his disdain was for your use of air quotes or just disdain for GAR regulation in general. With any member of the Bad Batch, it was usually general disrespect for the rules. You gave him a look before continuing, “I still have three more days.”

“Is it really training? You could run circles around anyone here, especially them.” He drawled as he nodded his head over his shoulders at the table of red painted troopers who were eyeing him in distrust. Your eyes went a little wide, was that a compliment? And then you ducked your head at the offended glares of your table. In an effort to prevent a fight, you stood quickly before letting him lead you off.

“They’re aren’t gonna let me leave, Crosshair.” You reminded him, looking up to meet his eyes. He smirked a bit, setting his eyes forward.

“How are they gonna stop us?” He challenged, dropping his smile to glare at a passing trooper.

“Well, ion cannons come to mind.” You mused before clearing your throat, “You guys could always go with me, you went on plenty of missions before you got stuck with me. It be like the good ole days.”

He didn’t laugh at your joking tone, but shook his head, “You’re one of us, you stay with us”

You were stunned to silence for a second, despite your friendship he’s never referred you you as ‘one of them’. Heat rose to your cheeks as you exited the corridor into a lift, so Crosshair diffused the tension.

“Mission takes precedence over regulations. When have we been know to follow the rules, anyways.” He mused, swiping his ID card so the lift would let you out in the hangar. He relaxed a bit when you snorted a laugh before he continued on, “Besides, how can pull you out of sticky situation if you’re on a different planet?”

You froze in your spot, stomach dropping and cheeks flaring with red hot embarrassment; you had forgotten the cardinal rule of working with Crosshair.

If you didn’t have eyes on Crosshair, Crosshair definitely had eyes on you. And in this case, apparently ears as well.

“Ok, look-“ you started, hoping to ease your embarrassment, but all of the excuses you could come up with fell flat before they made it out of your mouth. Fortunately, the lift door slid open, allowing you to escape before you could further your embarrassment.

Crosshair actually chuckled out loud, long legs easily traipsing past you as he headed towards the Havoc Marauder. Momentarily, he twisted around to walk backwards, pointing his toothpick towards you, “Don’t worry, your ass is almost as good as mine.”

General Kirigan with a shy! reader headcanons:

- First things first, I think how he interacts with someone shy that he sees as a (potential) romantic interest varies per situation. Like generally, he finds the timidness kind of soft which is so different from what he's used to that he finds that aspect kind of endearing.

- He'd never admit that at the beginning, but the more time you spend with him the clearer it becomes to you because of how he acts when you're alone together

- At first, he'd hold onto his usual stoic disposition, but after realizing that at the end of the day your shyness is genuine and not an attempt to seem meek in order to trick people/him he'd begin to tease you about it when you two are alone.

- The first time he makes a comment that's just a little,, kinda-almost suggestive (a comment about how he wonders what it'd be like to be a Heartrender so that he could hear the change in your heartbeat every time you shied away from something) you're too confused to be embarrassed for like two seconds.

- You're basically that meme that's like did I hear that shit righttt??

- So you meet his gaze, and there's absolutely nothing but warm confidence there and you realize that he had in fact,,, said that.

- You hold his gaze for a moment out of protest (which is an incredible feat) and then you have to drop your eyes to the floor. You mumble some comment about how his ability to summon shadows isn't exactly a boring skill.

- Your reaction is so soft,, Kirigan can't help but be endeared even further. Something he wasn't exactly expecting and isn't too thrilled about. He doesn't think being shy makes you weak,, but he's extremely wary about how you're perceived and how people may treat you because of it.

- He doesn't doubt his ability to protect you, but he doesn't want to be distracted,, not with all he has to do.

- Still, he can't help mumble comments whenever there's a brief pause and you two are alone

- Meanwhile, you're starting to notice that now more situations keep coming up when you're left alone with Kirigan?? like he's always in the library when you are, he's always walking in to assess training when you're training and he just so happens to linger until you leave and then he just so happens needs to walk in the same hallway.

- It's a little strange at first,, but you're more horrified by the fact that you're not mad about it than the fact that it's happening. Especially since you know how much joy he gets from getting you flustered. You can see that in that slightly cocky uptilt to his lips whenever you're left gaping at him.

- Why doesn't it bother you?? You try to rationalize it and the only conclusion you can come to is the fact that he's attractive and powerful and even though your face gets hot whenever he talks to you,, there's appeal in those qualities. There's appeal in getting the infamous General to smile.

- Even if it costs you the bit of pride you have.

- You don't get why you're the one he seems to be going out of his way to speak to (maybe when your life is as stressful as his is,, at the end of the day you just want something easy and if he's in the mood to be flirty, you're easy) but you're not mad. You just have to constantly remind yourself to not be foolish enough to think you're the only one he goes out of his way to talk to.

- And as time progresses, you get a little more comfortable with his banter. You stop shying away completely,, which only encourages him to get bolder with his comments.

- Nothing insane,, not yet, just a little more direct.

- It kind of becomes a little game to him,, to see how flustered he can get you with the minimal amount of effort. Every once in awhile, you manage to act normally, but he's quick to shut that down by upping his game just slightly.

- After awhile, it starts to become a game for you too, to see how much of your instincts you can suppress just to take away some of his satisfaction. Only when he's getting a little too smug.

- But that's when y'all are alone...

- When you're surrounded by others, sometimes it feels like you don't even exist to each other. Sometimes that's a lonely feeling for both of you, but each of you is convinced that they're the only one that feels the absence.

- In your defense, you're much more entitled to those feelings because he can literally do whatever he wants. You can't just walk up to the General and do what?? ask him why he hasn't made any suggestive comment in the last couple of hours??

- please that embarrassing!! even if you weren't shy, that would be out of POCKET

- Meanwhile Kirigan is just like being angsty and debating the implications of seeking you out in an environment with so many important people. He could probably manage a minute or two by your side without making anyone suspicious, but the danger in that is that he won't be able to bring himself to leave after those minutes pass him.

- Worse,, he may even find an excuse for both of you to step out into the hall so that he can make his comments and take in your reactions in private.

- It's especially difficult when you have that one strand of hair just slightly out of place,, presenting the perfect excuse for him to just fix it and then drop his hand slowly so that his fingertips can brush the side of your cheek.

- And you're growing tired of the crowds of people you're not comfortable with and you're starting to feel more and more stupid for letting something that was so clearly just a playful distraction mean anything to you.

- But before either of you can succumb to your angsty pinning (cough, cough,, simps) his eyes will find yours from across the room and that's EVERYTHING

- At first, you want to be stiff and look away because it's probably not intentional, but then he gives you that little smirk. And then you feel stupid for ever doubting that you two at least have some kind of friendship. (maybe more,, but you're too scared to let yourself think that,, ;))

- And then you give him this shy smile,, and that's it. He's done--that one look undoes him entirely.

- So he starts shifting towards you as casually as possible, because if he can't be with you right now, surely being near you is good enough for now.

- You're unaware of this,, and when the moment ends you find yourself longing for more, but relatively satisfied. You don't expect anything from him, he's important and you're you.

- And being around people drains you because you genuinely want to stay out of any situation that would have too much attention on you at once. So once Kirigan moves and you can't find him in the crowd, you decide now is as good a time as any to step out and get some air, especially since no one currently needs you for anything.

- So you disappear into the corridor, planning to be gone only for a few minutes. But the second you're about two steps into the hallway, you hear another's footsteps.

- The hopeful part of you is like 'maybe it's him!!' but you don't really think that. There's something about the atmosphere that feels too tense,, too wrong for you to believe it's him.

- A moment later, your suspicions are confirmed. A grisha known for his impulsiveness is calling out to you, asking you where you're going.

- You explain that you just wanted to get some air and that you'd be returning in a minute. You try to sound dismissive, clearly establishing that you'd like your minute to yourself.

- It's clear that he understands the hint, but he doesn't move. He just keeps asking you questions.

- Your answers get shorter and shorter, the nerves your feeling tensing with each word as he begins to venture from falsely casual conversation to more flirtatious words. Being shy can leave you speaking too much, spluttering out words in hopes of saying the right thing to let you escape, but this is a different type of nervousness. Something feels wrong.

- And he just keeps saying things, things that even Kirigan wouldn't be able to get away with.

- All the while, you're desperate to escape, but they're persistent.

- And just when you're losing hope, and his advances get so bold he has you literally backed into a corner--a familiar voice comes to you like a lifeline.

- Kirigan, with all the authority of the general, questions what's going on. The guy that was so relentlessly hitting on you moves back like suddenly you're fire and begins to back away. He tries to explain himself but Kirigan is not having it.

- As soon as the stranger leaves, you feel like you can breathe again, but your nerves are still on edge. Kirigan's looking at you in a way you've never seen before. Sharp and almost--almost angry?

- You try to mumble a quick thanks, intending to disappear back to where you're supposed to be, but Kirigan's gaze keeps you planted against the wall.

- His gaze is so intense you ask him if he's alright.

- The question cracks something in him because of course you'd ask him if he's okay after something happened to you. His expression softens slightly, which you think is a good thing but then he speaks,, and his voice is not calm at all

- He's mad at the person that did that and the irrational part of him makes it seem like he's a little mad at you for letting that situation happen, but it's only because he's worried about what would have happened if he hadn't gotten there in time.

- And you're kind of confused because like?? what does he want from you? you made it clear you were uncomfortable and you were trying to get away?

- But after a quick snap and the fact that you're okay settles in,, he does feel a little bad. So he comes close to apologizing,, but that's basically just him saying he's glad that you're okay.

- You don't really ease, so he decides to make a partial joke about how maybe he needs to be around you more,, just to be safe,, you know

- And you smile slightly, and you're like 'y'know i'm not completely helpless.'

- and he's like 'pity,, i would've liked the excuse'
