Hey yall I know I've been GONE for like months (life has been INSANE and I've had to step back from all writing and hobbies for a while) but I have a genuine question for anyone that follows my writing!

I've had a handful of people tell me over the years that they have dyslexia and my writing is easy for them to read. I've also had people with ADHD tell me I can keep their attention really well.

I know it's a loaded question from a dead account in the middle of the day LOL

i have only posted happy endings. oops!!!! i do have a very small ~ambiguous ending~ x men thing in the works right now, not sure if it will see the light of day though.

i am very aware that most of my fics end in the exact same way but i will say Let The Sea Roll because it’s the only time i’ve done an epilogue!

thankfully no! i think all the hate i’ve gotten has been on tik tok lmfao

i have! have not been feeling it lately though, idk. there’s a joke to be made about seasonality here i’m afraid.

this isn’t a singular ship but the progression of chase/sebastian -> chase/reese (-> chase/kaz) is something so personal and crazy to me what do you mean that’s from disney channel. also possibly reddie. they’re insane.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

very angsty lab rats EF rewrite. i started it two years ago and it got pretty dark given the source lol

16. What are your writing strengths?

hmm i hope tasteful humor, i love when people comment that a joke landed!!

17. Thoughts on dialogue in another language?

i can’t remember any specific fic i’ve read that’s done this. i’m always interested by how comic book writers deal with dialogue in another language but i do think it’s heavily medium dependent. “**translated from [language]” probably wouldn’t work as well in a fic lol.

i like different ones for different reasons, tbitb-wise i’ll say How to Use the Kodak Retina (colloquially known as photo) since it’s most recent. i am also fond of If this is a rom-com because i think it reads Very bad disney channel sitcom-ish. weird thing to be proud of LOL but i like that it feels true to the source :)

how did you come up with this story? did you receive sudden inspiration or you always wanted to write something like this

I tried to find the ask where I answered this question, but I went back a few years and still didn't see it, so I gave up. Answer is below the break

Essentially, I definitely always wanted a story like this, for as long as I can remember when I got into reading things for fun. There was this ancient tiny animated comic book series (barely even a manga) called uh... Vampire kisses I think, and it was the animation of an actual book series which I think I read back in the dark ages, but I don't remember anything, really. I think ironically the vampire in it is named Alexander, but he has nothing to do with Macedon haha. Anywho, the one plot point that stuck with me forever was "there's a mansion. The vampire is found inside the mansion by the protagonist who wasn't aware there was something or somebody in the mansion" or basically that, and my preteen self went "HOLY FUCK THATS GOOD", 😭😭lmaooo. So I always wanted to write a book where someone found a vampire in a mansion, that was step 1. Literally everything that happened/spawned in my head after that was explosive.

I wanted the vampire to be obscenely old and Roman, so I looked for Roman emperors that weren't absolutely atrocious and bam, Hadrian. Even starts with an H. I wanted a twin. Bam, his sister Paulina is no longer a sister, but a brother who was erased from history out of shame. What would have been seen as weak and shameful back then? Mental illness. I wanted a dead lover of Hadrian, and I wanted him to be even OLDER, and the love of Hellenism and Greek culture Hadrian had made it obvious who the craziest idea would be, aka Alexander himself. THE Alexander. What a messy fucking pair that would be. Thus, the trio was mentally created.

I wanted THE most obnoxious love triangle in history, and I wanted it to be excruciatingly painful because fuck me and my feelings ig, along with all of yours.

I wanted the current protagonist to be a reincarnation of alexander. I wanted the first book to be full of mystery and questions and memory waterfalls; I wanted the second book to have everything to do with Auron and whoever created both twins, along with introducing all the side characters brewing in my head and making them permanent fixtures, and I wanted the third book to be dark and full of near losses and tragedy but an ultimate success, and I wanted to eventually right the wrongs that were done in that book, but OUTSIDE OF the series, which is what I'm slowly doing rn. I had a general idea of the overall story for a long time and I sat on it for months back in 2017 outlining over and over again before I started writing it, and I didn't really stop until it was done, and I've been routinely re-editing and "perfecting" it ever since. The prequel took fucking forever, but life happened and I won't be faulted lol.

So yeah there's probably a lot more I could say on the subject but my lunch break is almost over hahaa

Soooooo, to be honest, I still feel VERY strongly about the majority of my suggestions last year and I couldn't bear to not include them. But I didn't want to cheat by literally copy/pasting last year's task so you will find them at the end. Let's goooo!

Luz Noceda

So I haven't actually watched much of the Owl House (Like... 2 episodes maybe) and therefore I am not the person to bring this character, but I just thought Luz was so adorable and so relatable I mean she is a fangirl just like us!!! And she would fit in perfectly at Pride U her story is so easy to adapt to Swynlake. We have so many awesome TOH people and I just think we should have our protagonist!!

FC idea: I think it's been said before but cutest girly ever Madison Reyes

2. Koda and Kenai

I went through this phase (probably inspired by TLOU tbh) where I really loved the idea of like Koda and Kenai from Brother Bear as a duo that wound up together because they were both hitchhiking across the US (Koda looking for his mom, Kenai looking for someone to break his curse) and it turns out Kenai killed Koda's mom!!!! That would be crazy right? Maybe somehow they end up in Swynlake and run out of money and otherwise get stuck here, and eventually the truth comes out about Koda's mom.... listen I just love Brother Bear and I love found family and I love a sibling-type relationship where one of them is a little shithead because they're hiding how they're actually really hurt and the other is a grump it's always just so fun. Someone take this idea away from me please.

I don't have FC suggestions off the top of my head but I highly recommend talking to Mak, the FC wizard, if that is a concern!!!

3. Izzy Hawthorne

I just think the Swynlake Rangers have a lot of potential (especially if it's like in Lightyear where the group is kind of a joke lmao and maybe even one or two of them are actually just there for court mandated community service). I love an idealist and a disney protag type girly with big dreams and I just think she'd be so much fun!!

4. Mama Odie

I think Mama Odie could be a lot of fun. She's a character with a sense of humor in the movie, she enjoys being kind of cryptic and even though she helps people she always makes them work for it. And I just think it'd be interesting to have her around and kind of challenge Tiana's ideas about New Orleans and what it was like being a Mundus vs. a Magick living there. And maybe could incorporate some stuff about her dad and the RAS? Idk just a thought!!

5. Collette

Another selfish Tiana connection request lol but PLZ. Let's do French cooking vs Cajun cooking! Let's do fine dining versus mid level dining! Let's do THE BEAR AU!!!! YES CHEF THANK YOU CHEF!!!!

6. Joe Gardner

I am simply a sucker for a story about ~what it means to live a good life~. I like the idea that Joe gets to come back and he's so determined to be a famous musician and then he realizes what makes a good life is the friends he made along the way etc. I also just want more Soul characters lmao. I love u Joe <3

7. Bonnie and Forky

Sorry I just think this is the craziest and funniest idea I ever had. Like we all know what it's like to be under pressure as a creative but what if you were under so much pressure that your demon friend's life depended your ability to produce??? I just think it could be a really fun satire on like hustle culture especially in the creative world and I also think Forky is a hilarious character and I need someone to bring this.

prooooobably throw your shadow over me. there is zero resolution since it’s a missing scene set in late season 3 and, well..... lol. it’s seriously miserable.

Just the one Hannigram AU I think???? I have never been super into crossovers tbh.

lol yes, but it’s been a while???? although i did get one comment on a fic last year that wasn’t technically hate but it put such a bad taste in my mouth it might as well have been. it’s never a good idea to tell someone you don’t like the way they write a character, regardless of your intent. it is okay to simply hit the back button and move on with your day. :)

Do you write smut? If so what kind?

So much. Maybe too much???? Whatever. I really love writing deeply meaningful and descriptive sex that feels like an entire ~experience for my readers.

What’s your all time favorite ship?

Queliot now and forever. I have never in all my life had my heart completely fucking consumed like this. I’ve written close to a half million words about these bitches since 4x05 aired and I think I’m physically incapable of stopping at this point.

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

That season one AU I started writing when season 4 ended that’s an entire 70k mess sitting in a doc I haven’t touched since 2019. There were some really cool ideas in it (including an alternate mosaic timeline that was like a probability spell sorta?????) and I mayyyyy one day incorporate some of it into another fic, but as a whole I simply do not think it’s worth the effort it would take to make it good enough to post.

What are your writing strengths?

I think I write sex and romance well??? Also: conversations, similes, and sensory language.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Last night I had to describe the suspenders Quentin was trying on. I will probably have to spend an entire day editing that paragraph alone. I can go on for pages and pages about this deeply meaningful and emotional shit and then freeze up when I have to get a character dressed or make them move from one room to the next... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

This is a deeply ironic question for me to answer at the moment because I generally do not do this BUT there’s a moment in the new chapter of a litany of dreams that I’m working on where Eliot says... something. In another language. During a very specific scene. And it just sort of happened???? It’s a term of endearment (that I googled about ten different ways just to make sure I wasn’t fucking it up lmao) and I’m still 50/50 on whether it will make it into the final draft of the chapter but right now every time I think about my heart mayyyybe starts to beat a little faster. Eliot Waugh is a goddamn sap, y’all.

What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

My time cast a spell on you series without a doubt. I am SO PROUD of the work I’ve put into the 200k written for this ‘verse so far. It’s the biggest challenge keeping everything tonally consistent, but so deeply rewarding every time I finish a chapter and read it over and feel like I’ve accomplished just that. I’ve learned so much about my process and who I want to be as a writer from this ‘verse. And I’m so excited about all the messy and emotionally complex stuff I have planned for the remainder of part two. And allllll the other fics I have planned for this ‘verse in the future. 💖
