Do It Your Self Videopoem

Videopoem is do it yourself tv. Fed up with the crap the mainstream puts up on the tube I decided to make my own shit. It certainly couldn’t be any worse. And it’s a helluva more fun to make your own stuff and then to sit back and be a passive observer which is what the man what’s you to be. Granted I’m getting a little long in tooth. After all I could be the parent of many these hipsters and in some cases even their grandparent. That is if I was ghetto or trailer park trash, however, which I’m not. So as Brooklyn gets run over with the breeze of cool, I sliced some excerpts from the Olive Juice Festival in Brooklyn to feature The Sprinkle Genies, Prewar Yardsale, and Steve Espinola in the spirit of the Do It Yourself Movement…6.20.09 So time slips by. The Olive Juice label gone. The moment now becomes a do it yourself exercise because jack, there ain’t nobody around to save your ass. This ship sailed long ago. Roger dead. Donny dead. NCCMC studio gone. Attention span gone. Almost everything gone. But not me. And that’s the power of Do It Yourself. I am the one who does Videopoem. Nobody else. So it can’t be taken away from me. It resides in my head and I have my own equipment so when the studio closed I was just fine. And I am used to people not paying attention. Here in the Qua, it’s the land of corporate greed. The nanny state of the wealthy. Smoke and mirrors, the illusion of success and wealth. The rock n’ roll spirit has yet to die for me. And neither has the feeling for words. So I as I rewrite this on October 6 2013 I fine myself standing strong in the Do It Yourself moment.
