I do think some posts on here are starting to reach "that many people can't possibly all have autism" levels of discourse, and I need some of y'all to slow down because you're starting to repeat the same rhetoric of "oh all the kids have depression these days. It's the new trend" which is extremely invalidating for the people going through these things and acts like you have the ability to control other people's lived experiences
#the whole point of autism acceptance is that we talk about it more and learn to accept it more#and guess what#when you do that more people start getting diagnosed because people are better at recognizing it now#pr they're more open about their experiences because it's not as stigmatized#or they hear more about other peoples experiences and realizes it closely lines up with their own#and whenever that happens there's going to be people bringing up talking points about how can everyone suddenly be autistic#and you can't give into that line of thought#because by doing so you're going to start thinking you can describe peoples experiences for them#or decide if they fit YOUR version of autism even tho you know masking is a common occurence with many autistic people#you have to be smarter than this please#and its not just autism it's everything#it's ocd it's did it's adhd#it's EVERYTHING#and you have to STOP
