I’ve been waiting for your video before I started talking about criticisms I have about Once and Always and now that it’s out I’m gonna go crazy. Why did they think Billy bringing back Zordon would be a good plot? If they explained his intentions more maybe but why undo a heroic sacrifice that’s like 25 years old? Typing this out I realize this is basically the inverse of the “why did they kill Trini onscreen thing” but like. Why?
It's very much like. I can buy something like the MMPRs missing Zordon and wanting him back - I don't need more of an explanation than that - but the whole thing is ruined by it being presented as a noble goal that Billy's still working towards at the end despite it being the cause of Robo-Rita's return; let alone Trini's death. No, Billy, your takeaway from this whole thing should not be "wow, maybe it really is possible that Zordon's still out there :)" it should have been "this was a fool's errand that did more harm than good; I need to let Zordon go" (in the Once and Always in my head where Minh's goal is to bring back Trini through Robo-Rita's time travel plot, this would be a neat little parallel).
It'll be worse if it really does culminate into Zordon coming back in Cosmic Fury, though. With the plot of Once and Always being what it is, the implication would almost come off like Zordon can still be alive because David Fielding is but Trini can't because Thuy isn't and that uhhhhhhhh sucks!
#transmission#anonymous#and yeah out of universe it's just an unnecessary decision to make in general#part of what makes Zordon's sacrifice so iconic is that he didn't come back from it.#and you would not be adding anything to the future of PR by bringing him back??? Earth has been handling the creation and use of#power rangers for decades by now. we don't need him!!!!!!

FTWT CCCLXXXI
slowly but surely I WILL get through my hoard of tag games. words this time from @artdecosupernova-writing
this is once again a fanfic edition, but that's what I have the spoons to write these days and the doc is open.
jealous (reckless endearment - fandom: top gun)
“Huh.” He doesn’t have much to say to that. Maverick went ahead and adopted a whole other kid while he was off having a decade long temper tantrum. Bradley doesn’t know how he feels about that. Maybe he’s kind of upset. Maybe he’s jealous. Maybe he’s glad Maverick had somebody with him all these years so he wasn’t entirely alone. It’s complicated, and he’s too tired to feel such a mix of emotions.
angry (the name was: family - fandom: the 100)
"It's a very noticeable limp," Sage said finally, forcing the words out. Maturity was harder with people who matched it for some reason. "Everybody thinks I could fall over at any moment."
"You could," Bellamy commented, without spite.
"Obviously, yes." Sage acknowledged it while staring at the sky. "But I can stand and I can walk and I can't just sit around doing nothing."
"You haven't been," Bellamy said.
"Obviously, yes," Sage repeated, glancing at him irritably. He actually smiled for half a second, and Sage couldn't really be angry with him.
happy (blood ties - fandom: the untamed)
“Senior Lin!” His voice was perhaps a trifle loud, but he was happy to see her and hurried over to sit on the other side of the table. “I missed you too,” he said in a quieter tone, smiling across at her.
“Well, now that we’re all together, maybe someone could explain the situation that we’re facing. I hope it’s better than, Sizhui, there’s a situation at Koi Tower and I could use your help. Please bring Jingyi and Wei Wuxian if he’s around. Sect Leader Jin Rulan.”
Jin Ling gave Senior Wei half of a withering glance before plopping down on a seat. “You memorized my letter?”
“Considering it’s length, that wasn’t hard to do,” Senior Wei said mildly.
sad (forest secrets - fandom: power rangers samurai)
The walk back to the entrance was short, supporting Antonio’s argument for them going around in circles at first. Thalia’s hand dragged along the trees they passed like she was saying hello and goodbye at the same time. Mike had so many questions that he couldn’t think of them all at once. He kept his mouth shut and Emily didn’t say anything else either.
“Here.” Thalia stopped in between two large trees. “Get home safely,” she said as they filed through. Mike wanted to put a hand on her shoulder or something to make her stop looking so sad, but he didn’t want to startle her again, so he did nothing, just nodded at her gratefully, hoping that she got his meaning.
When they’d all gone through, each of them glancing back and shaking their heads when they couldn’t see Thalia anymore, they stopped to regroup.
“We can’t just leave her there,” Emily said, distraught. “She’s all alone!”
confused (untitled - fandom: once piece live action)
Ussop was still confused as to how he landed in this position. He followed Mari’s every direction because he was used to taking orders, and because he didn’t know what else he could do. The whole rest of the crew was still unconscious, and honestly, he could feel himself flagging. Mari had said he still needed a second dose, and he could tell.
The two gang members - because yes, Ussop was at least that observant - had complied with Mari’s wishes without much argumens, even giving her fond smiles when she wasn’t looking. It was very curious but Ussop was feeling too drained to even think about asking. By the time they had gotten everybody onto the ship and laid out in hammocks, Ussop had dark spots dancing in front of his eyes.
dazed I don't like my options so SKIP! I will recommend Enhypen's Drunk-Dazed for you to listen to - and you should watch the mv because it's great for spooky season.
except, explain, excite, exit. BONUS: caterpillar, loop. one penny's worth of pressure tags for @strangerays @papercutsunset @italiangothicwriteblr @winterandwords @toboldlywrite @flowerprose OR ANYBODY

First of all, you all need to get better at reading the whole question because a lot of you seemed to miss the part where I said no powers.
Second of all, to the person who reblogged this poll with the tag that there's something wrong with you if you only read ya fiction *deep breath* STOP BEING ELITIST and don't disparage people for their preferred genre of entertainment. Karking haran.
Third of all, I will not be taking any hate about my opinions on the ranking below, but feel free to debate the shit out of it.
In my ranking, I mainly focused on training, experience, and their willingness to be ruthless/cheat to win.
That being said, without further adieu:
7. Victor Vale coming in at dead last. He has no kind of training and he relies almost entirely on his powers to win his fights for him. He can definitely be ruthless, but any kind of fighting experience he has is what he picked up in prison.
6. Four/Tobias. I can already hear the screaming. While he is a good fighter, until the end of the first book the only experience he had was fighting his students or other trainers. Most of the fighting scenes we get for him are training scenes. It could be argued that fighting in a rebellion could be like fighting in a war, but I never really got the sense that he was fighting for his life. (I also read these books over a decade ago so there is that)
5. Peeta Mellark. I feel like a lot of people sleep on Peeta because he's a soft male protagonist, especially when he's standing next to Katniss. But he actually survived two different Hunger Games while multiple people were trying to kill him. I also feel that it's forgotten that they didn't just throw the tributes into the arena first thing but actually spent some time training them so that they'd last longer.
4. Prince Po. He's actually an expert combatant who has been trained all his life to fight and he actually fought Katsa to a standstill whose grace was surviving/winning. He gets points docked though since he relies so heavily on his grace of specific empathy/telepathy to give him an edge in any fight.
3. Kaz Brekker. This is where the training part comes into play, because Kaz is an excellent fighter. He wins pretty much every fight he gets into and outsmarts his way out of the others, not to mention his completely ruthless nature and willingness to take a hit. However, Kaz has had exactly zero formal training and he fights like what he is - a canal rat who has had to fight to survive every day. I still would never cross him in a fight though.
2. Percy Jackson. Now, this is where the no powers comes in, because of course Percy wins in a landslide if he can use his powers, he's literally half god. Without his powers, he still has an enormous amount of experience on his side as well as a lot of training. He's fought in two wars against gods and titans, as well as years of guerilla warfare against any monster on his tail. However, he's mainly been trained with other teenagers and while he's led armies they weren't the most organized military systems.
1. Will Treaty. Will wins out with training and experience. He's been trained from a young age on how to fight multiple opponents bigger than him, and he has participated in large scale warfare as well as other military excursions. He's been trained in military strategy on how to defend everything from a small party to an entire kingdom, and I'm of the firm opinion that no one can fight in an actual war without cheating because there is no such thing as cheating in a fight for your life, and the Rangers base their strategies on subterfuge. There's a reason that the King doesn't send more than one Ranger for anything less than a full scale invasion.
(at least 18 people said that they didn't know any of these characters)

How does “aging” work in Toonverse, especially with regards to the Tiny Toons?
Aging is a complicated concept to a lot of toons. Mainly because its a concept that comes with different forms so it isn't as straightforward as it is for humans. Humans get older as time goes on, easy as that. Not so much for toons. For toons, there's aging and then there's narrative aging.
Narrative aging is basically aging because that is what the story requires. If a cartoon was to let's say: have an episode that takes place in the past or in the future, the toon would age according to what was needed, aging both up and down (becoming older or becoming younger). Or heck a movie from a cartoon that takes place in the future of said cartoon, would have toons or maybe just specific toons age up. The unique thing about narrative aging is that it is rather simple to revert back to your original age with the possibility of being able to swap between the age forms.
An example of a toon who had gone through narrative aging would be Max Goof. Max Goof initially debuted as a child (Goof Troop) and that was his set age up until A Goofy Movie was in production and it was required of him to 'age up' to a teen for the story, which he did. He later then aged to young adult for "An Extremely Goofy Movie". Max can now change through the three different forms at will.
Another example on the opposite spectrum of aging would be the Looney Tunes, who would have to 'de-age' to act in Baby Looney Tunes. They don't swap to their baby forms at all but can do so if desired.
And then there's Aging, which is admittedly a little more complicated than narrative aging, especially in concern to Tiny Toon Adventures.
In the Tiny Toons Adventures' episode 'Fields of Honey', we are introduced to Honey, the very first female Looney Tunes character after Babs went scouting for a mentor in the old films archive. However, Honey has been missing for several decades after she and Bosko were kicked to the curb in favour of a new star like Porky Pig. With the help of a disembodied voice, Babs goes off to try and get people to remember Honey again.
Somewhere during the episode, Babs is stopped by the voice who points out towards Bugs Bunny who was surrounded by students and the voice states something pivotal to toon lore.
"It's Laughter that keeps a toon young. When the Laughter stops, a toon grows old and forgotten"
Laughter is a very powerful thing, especially in the Who framed Roger Rabbit Toonverse (which TTA is a part of). It plays a vital part in the life of a (comedy) toon. I put comedy here in brackets because laughter here would only relate to toons in the comedy genre. So for here:
Laughter=Remembrance
So to just rephrase the quote to be more inclusive of other genres:" It's Remembrance that keeps a toon young. When a toon stops being remembered, they grow old and eventually become forgotten."
Honey, because people stopped laughing at her (and in turn, forgot about her), began to age. And judging by how she looked by the 90s, she aged at the same pace of a human. If she were in her 20s when she was created in the 1930s, then she'd be roughly in her 80s physically by when the episode aired. That's OLD.
But luckily, like Narrative Aging, this sort of Aging can be reversed, albeit it's much more difficult. To quote TTA again (same episode):
" To save Honey, the people must watch and laugh again"
Basically what its saying here is that the public has to basically remember the toon to bring them back to their prime ages. It took at least a theatre full of interested and curious people to bring Honey (and Bosko who I assumed also aged as he was forgotten) back to her former glory.
And that's aging, with regards to Tiny Toon Adventures :). Stay tuned for my future rant as to why the character Sweet Pete from Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers 2022 frustates and infuriates me from the standpoint of Toon Lore.
