Ayyy thank you so much! Scorpius is actually like 3 years older than Lily but I’ll make them the same age in here. And I actually did a lot of research for the Potions  class and the name of potions so you should really give me credit for that hehe.

It was the first lesson of the day and the last day of the week before Christmas holidays. The outside air felt chilly and very inviting and all Lily wanted to do was go out and play with the snow. But instead they had to go to the dungeons and study Potions with boring old Slughorn.

Of course it wasn’t really all that bad. Lily Luna inherited her grandmother’s natural skills of potions-making, something her father and mother didn’t have. Apparently that special skill skipped one generation. Not to mention Professor Slughorn loved Lily, she was one of his favorite students and he kept praising her - she’d never get less than an Outstanding.

Also, as a sixth year Lily’s Gryffindor classmates were combined with Slytherin students during some classes, including Potions. Which meant that she’d be seeing Scorpius, although only for a short time. It’s not like they would talk to each other or anything, they’d probably just walk past each other once in a while and brush their fingers lightly while everyone else was busy so they wouldn’t see. Even though Lily and Scor had been together for almost a month now, very people know about that fact. Scorpius had told her not to tell anyone because he was afraid of what his father would say. Lily was completely fine with it - she was a little bummed that they couldn’t walk around the school holding hands and that they had to sneak in at night to a broom cupboard to make out but she was happy with Scor, and she was fine not telling anyone about it. She knew that Scorpius’s father would probably explode when he finds out that his son was dating his old arch-enemy’s daughter.

"Today’s lesson is making any kind of potion you’d like. Open your books, but most importantly, open your minds. Pick the most interesting potion to make and surprise me," Slughorn said.

Lily opened her book lazily, her eyes glancing at Scorpius only a few meters away from her. He was with a group of his friends joking around and laughing together at something his friend said. But everything Scor and his Slytherin gang said was obviously heard by her and her friends on the other table.

"What are you going to make, Mr Malfoy?" Slughorn hovered over the gang of boys,  "The Forgetfulness potion? A Sleeping Draught? Or even Amortentia, the most powerful love potion in the world, for some pretty girl you secretly like?"

Lily giggled from the next table, and Scorpius’s eyes flashed towards her nervously and back to Slughorn’s so no one would notice. Then he said with a smile, “I don’t need to make a love potion for the girl I like, Professor,” he said with his trademark gorgeous and charming smile. “She already loves me without it.”

All of Scorpius’s friends at his table and the Gryffindor girls at Lily’s table hooted and laughed at Scorpius, making loud noises and even whistles to tease on Scorpius because of his remark. Lily couldn’t help but smile at her secret boyfriend’s words, and Scorpius’s grin while his friends messed up his hair and patted him on the back made Lily smile even wider. She attempted to hide the smile by putting her book in front of her face. 

Slughorn laughed his kind old man’s laugh.

"And who might that lucky girl be, Mr Malfoy?" he inquired.

Scorpius looked down shyly, not wanting to spoil the secret he and Lily had been hiding for a month. But his eyes betrayed him and he irresistibly glanced at Lily for only a split of a second. But it was enough for Slughorn to see the direction of the glance and locate his favorite student, hiding her face still smiling under her Potions textbook.

"Lily Potter?" Slughorn, although already around 70 years old, apparently still had a powerful and strong voice cord. His voice boomed across the whole classroom, making everyone, both Slytherins and Gryffindors turn to Lily’s face. Lily, her ears red with embarrassment, slowly lowered her book and faced Slughorn.

"Yes, Professor?" she said slowly. She couldn’t even dare to look at her friends’ bewildered face and Scorpius’s regretful look.

"Lily?! Since when are you and Scorpius Malfoy - " all her friends started to ask, flooding her with questions.

And finally the whole class clicked and realized that their friends were actually together. Of course most of them, especially Lily’s friends and Scorpius’s friends started shouting and laughing again, swarming the new couple with congratulations and “Why didn’t you tell me?”s. All Lily could do was smile and say thank you, and tell them that she wanted to wait for the right time. Meanwhile Scorpius was also bombarded with questions and cheers from his friends. Finally, the whole Potions class united together to chant at the same time, again and again: “Scorpius and Lily! Scorpius and Lily!”

Someone pushed Scorpius, now also red in the face towards Lily and everyone stood up - some even stood on their tables to get a better look - with their fists in the air and swarming towards Lily and Scorpius, pushing them together until they couldn’t help but surrender and laughed side by side. Scorpius put his arm around Lily’s and laughed, and the whole class cheered happily. Even Slughorn didn’t try one bit to stop the little commotion.

Of course now that the whole class knows, the gossip would spread out of the Potions class and into the whole school, eventually reaching Draco Malfoy’s ears. But at the moment, neither Scorpius nor Lily really cared. Linking their fingers together in the middle of their friends cheering for them, Scorpius didn’t even think about his father for a second.
