Idk what do you think about poly ships but could you give your thoughts on Silver x Shard x Larry?

I actually do love polyships! You wouldn't know this anon, but while I do have occasional monoships there is more than one fandom I'm a part of where I just have insanely big and complicated polyships😂

Anyhow, I actually kind of adore the thought of this ship? While out of all of the possible pairings here, Shardilver has always captivated me most, I loved their little trio and can't help but be sad that we won't see more of Joker, Jack, and Ace in action

As for canon stuff, I have to admit that I didn't really pay as much attention to Larry in my original read of the trio's first mission. This is largely because of how much of a sort of in your face rivalry Silver and Shard play with during the "follow Geoffrey" mission. I honestly have to give kudos to Larry for trying to focus on the mission while Shard and Silver take up time competing or arguing, especially since he's just kind of in the middle of it?

I feel like the trio really could have gone somewhere as a team and those couple issues of Sonic Universe (42 and 44) were just the beginning. Why? Well, they are a new team. These three are working together for the first time, learning about each other, and dealing with each other. I find it unfortunate that Shard and Silver's taking charge and Larry's trying not to rock the boat or making a wrong move leads to Larry being a bit out of the spotlight (after all, we only get to learn how Larry joined the secret freedom fighters because Silver asks about his "power"). This is all to say that...we could have seen them evolve and grow as a team and as characters a bit.

I think I'm going to go off for a second on some thoughts I have from them under the cut. In case you don't want to read all that though, the simple answer to anon's question is that I definitely can get behind Shard/Larry/Silver as a ship (though I am partial to Shard/Silver)

Okay, so I want to think about them as a team. All in all they're dysfunctional in that way where things just *barely* turn out. Shard and Silver are constantly competing/arguing, Larry really has no reason not to feel like a burden with his jinxes (especially with them coming into play in ways that present as obstacles when he tries to take charge of the situation), and all 3 of them are trying to prove themselves in some way while the mission goes...not as desired.

But in a way I feel like this trio pairing does or could have had a purpose. Silver has been trying to save his future by traveling to the past, but he's had a bad track record in prevention and actually pinpointing the issue that causes his bleak future (and his doubling down on his accusations to administer justice hasn't allowed him to make friends too well). Shard is the original Metal Sonic. He spent a lot of his existence following orders and obsessively messing with Sonic, uncaring of who he hurt or killed in the process. And although he eventually grew a soul and gave his life for Sonic and Tails, he can’t so easily leave his past behind. He can’t expect people to accept him or to forgive him. His attitude at this point is less about genuine maliciousness (as with his previous altercation with Sonic and Tails) or him actually hating Silver, but is more of a form of self protection. Larry has had a hard life. With his chronic unluckiness, he learned long ago that it was better if he stay away from others and just...try not to burden them, even if he can't help it. It gave him hope way back then, when Sonic helped him learn that he and his jinxes could have a use, and when he became part of the substitute legion of freedom fighters. However, it's clear from the story he tells Shard and Silver that he feels like he had a good thing going, only for his jinxes to ruin everything again. He just wants to be helpful, especially now that he's been given another chance to prove himself, but he's still afraid to be a burden.

All three of them have a past or track record that it's hard to move past, but they want to try. All three of them are looking to get something out of being a member of the secret freedom fighters (and though Silver is mostly doing so to get his information so he can find the traitor and go back to his own time, he, like the other two, is also being given another chance to do good via his membership of this freedom fighting group). For lack of a better term, this is a group of "failures" who are trying to do some good.

So I think if we could have seen more of them, we could have seen Silver and Shard come to care about Larry as a partner, appreciate him as one. Larry's background arc could have been about him starting to speak up and assert himself as a member of the group (instead of acting on his own to the group's detriment, sort of following along, or supplying commentary or advice occasionally). I think we could have seen Shard come to care about Silver and Larry (and their well-beings) beyond the mission at hand or his own goals. Just like Sonic often has to learn, we could have seen him grow more used to working in a team rather than trying to show off or prove superiority by handling most obstacles or decision making. I think this team could start as practice for him possibly trying to make up with others outside the secret freedom fighters in the future, and as a method of creating the "family" he wishes he had. I think we could have seen Silver becoming more closely involved with this time through them (further than he already is with his membership to the secret freedom fighters). His detachment to the people here and the lack of thought he's given beyond completing his goals and enacting justice are part of why he's so reckless, so coming to care closely about a couple of people who are hiding just like them and their well-being/home would do him some good. Like Shard, I think we could have seen him getting used to working better in a team rather than trying to handle things on his own.

They're all outsiders, so perhaps they could have created a kinship together so they don't feel so lonely? They're more similar than they believe, and I feel that they could have all grown together as people with their similar problems and situations

Okay okay, if you've read this far I feel perhaps I should give a slight change of topic. So, for fanon purposes, I bid you to imagine Silver and Larry napping, curling up in their sleep, and Shard...bidding himself to watch. He'll probably tease Silver about it later or make some statement about how not needing sleep makes him superior, but for now he just enjoys the moment of peacefulness. He enjoys watching the two at their most vulnerable, sweetly curled up around each other, sleeping like nothing in the world is wrong.

Day 2: fragment of a dream Rating: M (overall) Tags: Minimal Editing, Fluff and Humor, Old Married Couple, Polyamory, Old Loves Rekindled Fic Summary: Drift and Ratchet are living their soft and cozy lives together way out in the quiet serenity of rural lands that sit on the edge of the wild. They're good with this, couldn't ask for more. Then more comes anyway by way of the past, as it always does.

Note: Just a heads up! This week is focused on Dratchet emotionally, but it is working toward a polycule! (Which will be explored in April during Polyship Week.)

Drift wasn't quite sure when his optics powered down and his consciousness took a stroll through some of his more strange imaginings, but coming back to himself some as yet unquantified time later was proof enough he had actually done so. Of course, finding himself leaned against Ratchet's side, helm tilted against his shoulder, certainly gave him thoughts on letting it happen again. He nuzzled his face into the solid structure of Ratchet's shoulder pauldron, breathing deep of his scent and wondering whether it might be possible to find a way to carry it with him always.

"Awake again, I see," Ratchet murmured, pressing a kiss to Drift's closest audial flare. "Missed my chance to get you back." The buzz of fishing line unspooling from the reel caught Drift's attention, sitting him upright as Ratchet caught at the spinning handle. Ratchet grunted and was on his pedes mere moments later. "Whoa!" he exclaimed, giving the pole a firm tug to set the hook. "Think I just got us dinner, sweetspark!"

Leaning back against a large boulder they'd chosen as part of their picnic site, Drift stretched out his legs, crossing them at the ankle. He rested his hands over his belly and watched Ratchet work the line slowly back onto the spool. With a grin, he quipped, "Need to land it first."

Ratchet cast a quick glare over his shoulder, though he swiftly turned his attention back to the bobbing end of his pole. "Got a lot of smarts for someone whose pole hasn't even touched the water yet."

"What if it's not big enough for both of us?" Drift continued, ignoring the comment while idly twiddling his thumbs and doing his best to keep an innocent look on his face—it was a difficult thing to keep up, honestly. All his time around Ratchet had severely eroded his ability to keep a straight face while joking with the mech. Even more honestly, though, Drift really didn't mind it in the least. "What happens then?"

Another quick grunt preceded Ratchet letting whatever was on the line pull out across the peaceful stretch of stream that pooled wide and deep in front of them—they'd traveled a ways farther down the stream then they usually went to find it before Ratchet deemed it a suitable spot for fishing. Once the fight of whatever he'd hooked calmed again, Ratchet started leisurely reeling in once more. Without bothering to look Drift's way, he said, "Then it looks like I've got dinner and you're fending for yourself."

"And they say romance is dead…," Drift said with a roll of his optics. He was amused, yes, but were he standing beside his conjunx rather than sitting comfortably, Ratchet would've been swimming with the fishes he was attempting to catch. Of course, Drift knew without doubt he would have been dragged right along with Ratchet, leaving them both dripping water all the way home from all sorts of places that wouldn't dry before they got there.

Ratchet's snort came as expected, followed by him getting the hooked fish close enough that Drift swooped into action. Catching up the net Ratchet had rested against the closed lid of the picnic basket, Drift made a quick thrust into the water to bring it back up around the fish. The steelfin trout thrashed and struggled against the entrapment, but Ratchet moved faster than even Drift would have expected of him. Getting the large fish out of the stream and onto the bank in one smooth maneuver that let him pull out the hook with ease. Tucking a couple fingers into the gills, Ratchet held the fish aloft in front of him where Drift could get a good look. It was a very big fish, stretching from where its nose aligned with Ratchet's shoulder to the very tips of its tail that swung around the midportion of Ratchet's thigh.

"Look at that," Ratchet said with a smirk. He shifted the squirming fish a little this way and that, letting the sunlight reflect rainbows off the oil slick paint of the scales. "I think this is even enough to invite Rodimus and Thunders over for. If you feel like sharing, that is."

Eyeing the fish as it continued to struggle, Drift frowned a little before reaching over to stroke a fingertip along its belly. It nudged something not quite a memory sitting deep in the recesses of his brain module, something primal that didn't feel quite real—a dream never fully remembered, but not quite forgotten, either. "We could ask," Drift replied, jerking his hand back when the fish gave a particularly powerful shake in Ratchet's hand. "What do we do with it now?"

He stuck out his glossa when Ratchet laughed at him. Ratchet's smile only widened before answering, "If we're taking it home, we extinguish its equivalent to a spark, clean the innards out, then pop the frame into stasis until we get it back, where we can fillet it and throw it on the grill. If we're not taking it home, we toss it back in the water."

"Are you seriously suggesting I would tell you to toss it back in the water?" Drift asked, giving Ratchet a little jab in the middle with the finger he used on the fish. "I don't know about you, but I'm having trout for dinner tonight."

"Well, then, let me show you how it's done," Ratchet replied with a low rumble of humor in his chassis.

Of course I can, my lovely anon!! You actually hit on my second favourite polyship for IkeRev, honestly, so I was so excited to write this one, especially since I’ve been throwing up polyships over the last couple of days and am just big into that mood at the moment. Thank you so much for sending in a request and I hope you’ll enjoy the headcanons!

Who falls asleep on the couch?

I feel like Ray does it more often. He gets working late or reading, or especially if he’s cuddling you on the couch, with Belle all curled up with the two of you, and he ends up falling asleep on the couch. But I also feel it’s only power-nap kind of sleep when he does because he doesn’t sleep well on a couch. He just kind of falls asleep and drifts in and out of sleep. Fenrir doesn’t fall asleep on the couch as often but when he does, just tuck him in with a blanket and leave him because he’s not waking back up.

Who makes friends with the neighbours?

Both of these men will be friendly to the neighbours. Fenrir is the one to make the most friends among the neighbours and is the one to suggest having them over, but Ray is the one most of the neighbours turn to when they need help with something.

Who is the adventurous eater?

I personally feel, and it’s just my personal headcanon, but Fenrir’s a little bit picky when it comes to food and has a couple foods he really, really despises. Like tomatoes, to go with a canon example…and because tomatoes are in a lot of dishes, he’s kind of hesitant to try new foods unless he knows exactly what’s in them. He’s also been spoiled by Luka a bit, who always cooks his food with Fenrir’s pickiness in mind and doesn’t make him try new things often. Ray is less picky but also not very likely to actively make it a point to go out and try new things regularly so unless you’re an adventurous eater, it’s nobody in the relationship. If you are an adventurous eater, you’ll have more success in getting Ray to try new things.

Who hogs the covers at night?

Belle. Not even kidding. Ray’s used to sleeping without a lot of covers because of that so he’s not going to be a blanket hog. Fenrir doesn’t hog the blankets but I strongly headcanon he moves a lot in his sleep and might end up kicking you accidentally in his sleep so he can be a bit of a handful that way.

Who forgets to do the dishes?

It will have to be you or nobody. Despite their slight dysfunctionalness, the Black Army is actually a pretty well run machine and every member knows they have to pitch in to help clean the Headquarters so both Fenrir and Ray are pretty used to having to do chores. As an aside though, Fenrir is almost guaranteed to have a mishap more often while doing dishes, like breaking a plate or accidentally cutting himself on a sharp knife, but that’s because he’s often talking to someone while cleaning or his head is off in the clouds.

Who tries to surprise their partner more often?

Both men love surprising you, whether it be with crazy new date ideas or gifts…or sometimes pranks. The whole of the Black Army gets a little afraid whenever the three of you get into a prank war together, mostly because you’ll end up drawing the rest of the Black Army into it. And, because Ray and Fenrir are best buds, it only makes sense that they discuss their plans or put their heads together to come up with ideas to surprise you, though that’s only when it’s got nothing to do with pranks. Because when those aforementioned prank wars happen, both men gun for each other as much as they do you.

Who leaves dirty laundry on the floor?

Fenrir leaves wet towels all over the place. Like, Fenrir, how did this towel end up outside?? Why did you take it outside with you? Ray is better about putting his dirty laundry where it belongs but is the worst when it comes to doing laundry as it’s one of his least favourite chores.

Who stays up until 2 a.m. reading?

Ray does this occasionally but never on purpose. He just loses track of time pretty easily, though he really works hard to improve in that area. Just let him know what time it is without scolding him, and he’ll appreciate it and will head to bed to try to get some sleep, though he will stay up for a bit just kind of wondering what happens next in the book.

Who sings in the shower?

Fenrir sings in the shower, and, even though it makes absolutely no fucking sense in canon and I even hate that I can’t get it out of my head, but it’s definitely always Irish drinking songs or sea shanty’s I picture him singing in the shower and I have no justifications for it.

Who takes the selfies?

If Cradle had the technology to take selfies, there’s so, so many pictures of Belle and you and all of the Black Army on Ray’s phone but he’s never in any of the pictures. Fenrir takes so many pictures but most of them are too blurry to really make anything out in, so all the selfies of the three of you he takes don’t turn out the best, but he tries. Both men will love it if you end up taking selfies with them and will probably ask you to send the photo to them. Ray would definitely make it the lock screen on his phone, too.

Who plans date night?

As with surprises, Fenrir and Ray tend to plan date nights together or suggest date night possibilities if either of them is taking you out, just you and him together. They have each other’s backs in that regard, most certainly.

I have so many that will never be realized bc I can’t draw... But I’ll put a few of them here under the cut:

1. A Po3 Ashfur and Squirrelflight-centric AU MAP/pmv/animatic/whatever set to the Tom Jones song “Delilah”. Essentially, it follows Ashfur’s descent into jealousy and madness after Squirrelflight breaks up with him to be with Brambleclaw, and in accordance with the song, ends with him murdering her in the Nursery shorty after she brings the Three back to camp saying they are her and Bramble’s kits. I actually wrote out a script for this one that I might post (if I ever finish it lol)

2. A TBC MAP/pmv/animatic/whatever featuring a confrontation/battle between Bramblestar and Ashfur’s spirits to possess Bramble’s body with the song from the Surgeon Episode of Puppet History (just search “Puppet History Hologram Professor song” on YouTube and you’ll find it). I have a pretty clear image of the character designs for this one- Bramble and any other characters would be completely normal cat designs, while in keeping with the song’s origin, Ashfur would be drawn as a plush toy/puppet thing. Completely unrelated, I also wrote a script for a MAP of this song for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet that I may also post if I ever finish it

3. An ITW AU MAP/pmv/animatic/whatever set to the song “Evelyn Evelyn” by the musical duo of the same name, centering on an AU where Smudge ends up becoming Scourge out of rage and jealousy while Fireheart rises to power and has his adventures in the Clans

4. Finishing off with one happy idea, we have a MAP/pmv/animatic/whatever set to “The Good Ones” by Gabby Barett centering around my one of my fave polyships from Warriors: Daisy/Cloudtail/Brightheart. It’d just be happy fluff with Daisy finally having good loving mates because she deserves it honestly

Rb and infodump the warrior cats pmv/amv idea that has been stuck in your head for years.

I'll start, an ambitious 5 minute pmv of Mothwing to Hand Over Hand by Roland Faunte exploring her relationship w Hawkfrost and her conflicting grieve/relief after his death. Sometimes I replay the song on loop and just space out imagining it... I love u sm Mothwing.....

Expect to be catered - Your Beach Hut doesn’t have much but a gas tank, a portable stove and a pan when it comes to a kitchen. Chef Explosion Bakugo will be packing a tapas arrangement for all of you, ensuring that you try a bite of everything. Shy boy Tamaki picks the best wine to have it with too

A lot of the time you’re at the Beach Hut, you and Bakugo decide what really goes on during the day; going to a nearby pier, relaxing in the hut with a book or a board game. But Bakugo realises that Tamaki hasn’t put his 2 cents in: - “Kay’ - we’ve got Kayla’s ice cream. What are we doin’ afterwards?” “I-I d-dunno... What do you wanna’ d-do afterwards?” Bakugo frowns, a little irritated. “Y’know this is your holiday too. Choose somethin’ you’ve been wantin’ to do - it’s about makin’ memories, and shit like that. You’re gonna’ regret it if you keep a lid on yourself all the time...” -

Bonfires are a must! On the nights where the forecast is good, you guys stay till the sky is full of stars. There’s something about the crackle and combustion of a bonfire, and the serenity of the sun setting upon the ocean, that just sits right with all of you. It’s just a perfect way to end the day

I have thoughts™️ on the nordic polycule.

Iceland is the communal brother/child and also the chief blackmail collector, and considering the stupid shit these fucks get up to, there is plenty of it.

Norway and Finland, though usually not seeming to be very dangerous keep the other 2 whipped as fuck, Norway is a kinky lil shit and finland is as well. Also probably a sadist sometimes. Adding to all the horniness is a good side of fluff and angst too, less angst if it's a human au because the nordics thought history was just an absolute shitfest.

Human (university/college) Au Belarus/Monaco/hungary/Liechtenstein.

They're all over 18 because that would be very uncomfortable if it wasn't, but there are indeed age gaps. Liech is 19 and in her second year at uni, Monaco is the same. Both are doing econ and are absolutely amazing at it. Natalya is doing forensics and is 22 because I said so and Hungary is Belarus' very boring professors very hot assistant and is 25.

Monaco and Liechtenstein were high school sweethearts and have been a "thing" since year 10, they're poly bisexuals and were looking for a 3rd person and who do they find in the gay bar other than belarus. They set out their ummmmmmmmm... requirements? Expectations? Idk the word but I think it might be terms? And after a while they started dating and soon became a very happy throuple.

Enter in Hungary on the last day of this school year, and she dressed very slutty because she could. She is pansexual so she is open to everyone but never expected a small troupe of stuttering students ask her for her involvement in their lil thing she is apprehensive at first but eventually agrees.

Let's just say they had a very good night

And during the summer break they got to know eachother more and better and deepend their relationship massively. By the first semester theyre an established grouple

Ok now onto some of the slightly hornier things.

Belarus can take pretty much anything with a straight face, except hungary and her "so good that it feels better than sin" fingers.

By no means are any of them virgins though, liechtentisen lost it to Monaco and vice versa one time when they were very drunk at 17 (illegally) though the younger ones are a little more vanilla than the other 2

I'm gonna start at the bottom because being illegally drunk is such a wtf moment for me when the legal drinking age here is 16 lol. but I like the idea of Liechtenstein and Monaco being high school sweethearts. I haven't really thought about those two being the same age but it makes sense and I really like it uwu

When I first read your ask I expected to read that hungary and belarus were also a thing before they all got together, but honestly I love the idea of Monaco and Liechtenstein collecting girlfriends one by one. Belarus hanging out in the gay bar having a good time and it's about to get even better when she's chatted by not one but two hot girls 👀

Hungary would have the biggest "do you need a tutor? (or a babysitter)?" moment when Liechtenstein and Monaco approach her but the Belarus enters the scene kissing her girlfriends on the lips right in front of Hungary and the kisses linger just a little too long for this to not mean anything and why is Bela looking at her like THAT? but a few drinks later all doubts and clothes are gone <3

being the oldest out of the girls hungary is definitely going to put her all into making them feel absolutely amazing. she definitely has a lot of experience and shows her girlfriends some new things and toys to try out 🥰 but belarus is nothing behind her, being very perceptive and knowing everyones weak points. and monaco and liechtenstein still have this eagerness to do EVERYTHING because theres so much to do and try!!

also please consider Belarus making Hungary lay down for a bit after working all day, talking sweet and dirty to her while Liechtenstein and Monaco get to cover her body in kisses and give her the best time eating her out and fucking her ever slowly because she deserves it <3

MOVING ON TO ONE OF MY FAV TOPICS! 🥰 Nordics polycule 🥰 ahhh so true Iceland is a poor little meow meow (not really tho). He probably disinfects every piece of furniture he touches when he’s visiting because you never know what happened on a table or desk or kitchen counter lol. But he’s making bank blackmailing Sweden because honestly I’m not sure how much the others would care about their weird shit being leaked XD

But also Finland and Norway always seeming like the cure vanilla part of this relationship (tho I think Norway is such a massive tease in public that someone’s people catch him being doing or saying something naughty). I love the idea of Denmark being the one who falls asleep first. Sweden is a hard competition tho. OH WAIT! Fin and Nor making bets on who falls asleep first LMAO but yeah both Den and Swe won’t catch the first act of the movie if it’s not for someone to keep them awake by maybe shoving a hand down their pants. Tho then they would probably miss the movie too. There’s really no winning here.

so p5’s obvious. the actual villains from the game, their shadows can even be their villainsonas and their goals as villains are related to that, they just work through different methods that are more sci fi than realistic, and they get beat by the team (who are still vigilantes ofc) in real life

for p4 tho! i think instead of a murder mystery it’s like, a mystery of someone kidnapping people and creating clones for them to sort of replace them? and that’s what their shadows are! and yu starts as a hero (with maybe teddie as a sidekick) to first save yosuke and then he adds people to the team as they save them. when a person beats their clone they get a superpower through that, something abt radiation or w/e, this is how the clones were created and having the same person twice creates a cosmic imbalance and this is how the universe corrects it idk.

i think it would ultimately bc namatame who created these clones, like he got some divine message about society being impure and having to replace the people in it with new ones to save them

no idea how adachi and mitsuo will be involved yet (if you’re reading this you’re welcome to chime in with your own ideas!!!) but i do know dojima is the cop in charge of the investigation and he gets so frustrated with this team of vigilantes who do his job for him because they’re possibly putting humanity in danger by messing with forces none of them understand yet and all those basic superhero tropes aksjfkhgd

number 1 rarepair and number 1 ship in general: Chilbedo (Albedo x Childe):

they both have differing shady views of reality, both frequent Dragonspine and cold climates, childe being a big sibling figure to klee is gold, and varied other reasons that make them mesh well.

number 2 rarepair: monalisa (pretty straightforward)

not the rarest rarepair out there but most people dont realize what a fucking power couple this is. these witches know way too much but arent afraid to chill with it. and honestly thats a vibe and i love that for them.

number 3 rarepair: Xiaoluc (Xiao and Diluc)

just- i saw an art for it this one time- im not even sure entirely why i ship it but my brain has latched onto it very strongly ever since. it just gives of really calm energy and they need that.

And of course. It honestly takes a lot for me to fully hate a character and even though I do dislike Hajime’s violent behaviour, it’s not enough to make me full on hate him. And I’m sorry to hear you had to deal with someone like that because yeah, some people really are punchable. I hope you don’t have to deal with him again in the future. Your kindness is really admirable. Even though it also takes a lot for me to become violent, I never feel bad about it (even if I do fail because all in all, I’m not exactly that strong or made for hurting others). It’s kind of satisfying sometimes even just almost hurting someone to me.

Of course. You have so much work to do so it’s totally understandable. And it’s really admirable how much you’ve been able to do and that you’re so close to finishing. How did he act towards her (if he could properly interact with her)? And yes to everything that you said at the end. They deserve more love and I’ll eat anything new up (even if it takes me a while because this girl still hasn’t read the last chapters of HOMRA in Las Vegas even though she loved it).

Aww, thank you very much! That’s really sweet and very flattering! I’m always glad when people like talking to me, especially when they’re interesting people! As far as the favourites, I do think most of them were in Black Cat (Sven and Jenos for sure) and Kekkaishi (Rokurou) and I’ve had that same kind of ‘mine, they love me and only me’ fixations with some KHR characters in my extremely early fandom days…but embarrassing secrets – young fandom me writing Ronin Warriors, Dragon Ball Z, Dream Street, and Harry Potter fic by hand definitely got jealous whenever friends liked the same characters as me because I was like ‘now, they’re mine, they love me and only me’. Like I said, I have a much healthier view of it now, especially since I do tend to lean more towards polyships anyway when I self-ship.

Now I completely get you on it taking a lot for you to fully hate a character, because I’m exactly the same. I love really deep diving into characters, analyzing them, figuring out what makes them tick, how they got to be the way they are, and because of that I can almost always find some reasoning or some kernel of something amazing in the characters, making it very, very rare for me to out and outright hate many characters at all. Even villains, when well done, are terrific characters and I do count some villains among my all-time favourite characters, like Creed Diskenth. And thank you for saying that – unfortunately, part of working in the positions I work in means that I have to deal with a lot of really strong personalities, whether or not I like those personalities. And thank you for the compliment but there is a large part of me that says I don’t deserve your admiration, because honestly…I was a very angry, very violent youth. I could make a lot of excuses – a bad home life, running with a group of kids and people in their early twenties that were definitely bad news (not even joking – we went beyond just being delinquents…), bullied to intense degrees, with untreated mental illnesses, but truth be told, I learned in my teen years how easy it is to do extreme physical harm to someone else and that’s a large part of why I hate being violent or even feeling angry and violent now, because I do hold a lot of shame and regret for who I was back then.

And thank you again for your understanding! I’m actually really damn proud to say that, at this point, with 47 queued posts, every single request besides this is answered, though I admit to cheating a little bit! I’ll be making a post here in a couple minutes regarding that and some writing stuff, including a kind of box opening, but I’m actually really happy about it! And since I know exactly who I’m talking to, I can definitely say that you have said quite a few things in our dm’s that have made me pause and really examine some of the things that you’ve said about some characters, such as Yata and Bandou, that have really made me pause and go…hmm, I never thought about that, I’m going to examine this so I can see where they’re coming from and if I can see that too!

I’m so glad somebody finds my verboseness refreshing! And thank you for the wishes of luck! They’re always needed because honestly, I am the worst at editing my own stuff and proofing it, because I either get too critical and delete a lot of good stuff or I get too attached to things that I know should be able to be cut and would be good to cut. But it’s a bitch to find a good proofreader or beta reader, so I do all my own proofing and editing – just takes longer! And you are definitely not alone in that; honestly, I find it a sign of intelligence because it tells me that your brain is coming up with so many things that it’s hard to remember to get them all down in the rush of writing them down! And you know, it’s really funny you mention that because I remember talking to someone a little bit ago in a dm and them mentioning that they would have loved seeing more of the boy’s pasts with each other and I am so down for that. Bandou and Shouhei as kids and how they eventually drifted apart before coming back together. Chitose and Dewa and how they became friends and how they remained friends. Eric’s past in the gang. Hell, anything about Fujishima’s life other than he has parents he lives with would be cool. Yata and Kamamoto’s relationship. Benzai and Akiyama’s time in the military. Seri’s past in total. More about Kamo’s former life as a chef. How people like Enomoto and Goto got recruited into Scepter 4 and what the hell made Goto the way he is…like, there is so very much material that could be explored when it comes to all these side characters, more than enough to make several spin-off manga or even anime seasons. And I love the questions about Bandou, Shouhei and Saya…honestly, I’m probably going to be thinking about that for a while!

Today is, officially, the last day of 2020 - so it's literally just in time that I'm getting to @aosrecweek's amazing challenge. But that does go to show the nature of this crazy year a little bit, right? Time has just been INSANE, and I honestly cannot believe it's so close to over.

That said, I want to put it out there that everyone - absolutely everyone - who created something in this mad year, is a SUPERHERO. Like. We could have hidden away in dark corners, curled into little balls, and lost touch with our creativity entirely - but instead, we made some of the most fantastic content I have ever seen. And, excuse the language, but that is fucking amazing, of each and every single one of us. We're bloody INCREDIBLE, you guys. We really are.

Now, the rules of this challenge dictate that I've got to start with some of my own things, then repeat with the same number of creations by other people. So I'm going to do that, and I apologise for the sheer length (and self-plug-iness) of what is about to follow - but, bloody incredible, remember? I really mean that. 💜💜💜

My Own:

you could call me babe for the weekend - 19k of Spideychelle being oblivious, mutually pining IDIOTS while being snowed in. And, you know, fake dating. (This thing was SO MUCH FUN to write and though, yeah, it got completely out of control, as evidenced by the 19k, I still really love it.)

'tis the damn season - my first attempt at writing a multi-chap, and, yeah, it only has one chapter as of now, but I really love said chapter. Basically, it's Daisy and Mackelena being friends, and honestly just the BEST friends - I adore the style I managed to achieve in this thing. Plus, the Skimmons I have planned up next is going to be da bomb.

the closest thing - Philindaisy plus fake family. Also; amusement parks. And for a fangirl like me - well, it was pretty much a dream come true to write!

oh valley of plenty - in this fic, I basically told myself, so AoS won't give us Huntingbird in the finale? Fine. I'll just do it myself then - in the fluffiest way possible. And that's exactly what I did - making them, and their kids, be best friends in Perthshire.

maybe life should be about more - a very angsty Skimmons and Daisy-centric AU, focusing on the internalised homophobia Daisy has experienced through her life, and shaking it off (and eventually, y'know, getting together with Jemma.)

and it's dark in a cold december (but i've got you to keep me warm) - Fitzsimmons just make such a supreme pairing for hurt/comfort, what with how insanely well they understand each other and care about each other, so I'm really glad for the Fitzsimmons Secret Santa giving me the chance to write this! Basically, this follows our science duo through a stressful mission on Christmas Eve (so yes, it's a mission fic!!) and realising that the two of them can do anything together.

july second - ahhh, one of my personal favourites to write! Daisy birthday surprise fluff will always be top-notch for me, especially for all the team-as-family fluff you can add in, especially especially that this is set in Staticquake times! Also, it's from Hunter's point of view, which will forever be the most insanely fun thing to write, I do think.

i just wanna be with you - man, I'm such a big royal fan, so getting the chance to write a modern royalty AU for my OTP was nothing short of amazing!! This is Princess Daisy and her fiancée Lincoln Campbell at their official engagement interview

see the line where the skye meets the sea - shameless season 1 bby Bus Kids fluff, featuring movie nights, singalongs and... so much fluff your teeth will rot. Also I'm really freaking proud of the pun in the title okay

'cause all that you are is all that i'll ever need - Huntingbird waking up together fluff (because, fight me, Huntingbird in their sweet moments is one of the sweetest things you will ever get to read or write.) This is also my, fluffy, take on the origin of the Franny's Saloon keychain.

we love you, we love you (and we hope you love we too) - aha, my first polyship fic! Also my first try at some actually fancy HTML formatting (forever thanks to Kat for explaining.) Both of these things combined to form a fic that even I think is ridiculously fluffy and funny, and kinda amazing, at that.

and man I don't know where the time goes (but it sure goes fast like that) - Another Bus Kids movie night fic, but this one set post-season 7, and reflecting on how far they've come. A little bit more hurt/comfort-y than it's pure fluff prequel, but still super fluffy and soft. And, of course, with a happy ending.

she shares my dreams, i hope that someday, i'll share her home - snowy Fitzsimmons fluff, complete with them falling in love at the Winter Olympics, as you do.

then you walked in and my heart went boom - 16k of Dekesy for the wife, and remarkable for that, because literally a month ago from this, I hated Dekesy with my entire soul. Then I started reading Kat's fics, and, well, fell in love with them... so much so that I wrote sixteen thousand words of enemies-to-friends-to-lovers, bed sharing holiday fluff for them.

a love like that - a Fitzsimmons Cinderella AU, featuring my two favourite science babies, in true science bby style, falling in love over science and how stupid the whole courting thing is. Also, Daisy makes a brief appearance, and she's the freaking best.

ever after - ah, probably the one single fic I'm proudest of. A post-season 7 Daisy character study focusing on her emotional rollercoaster re: losing her family/things never being the same again, which just achieves... an emotional level that I have never managed to replicate again. I was full-on sobbing while writing it, and, guys, it also part-holds the Closest To Making Kat Cry prize.

blue - Daisy character study spanning snapshots of seven seasons, and before - but tied together by something blue in every moment. Researching for this, and finding all the blue moments, was very interesting, and immensely satisfying, especially since all the moments where a little bit of blue was present actually combine to chronicle Daisy's journey on the show remarkably well.

who is that girl I see - the one time I decided to write straight angst, and straight angst with no happy ending. Melinda May post-Bahrain, folks.

take my hand, take my whole life too - aww, the first thing I wrote that I really and truly loved. A Staticquake and Fitzsimmons Actors AU, featuring a proposal on set and INCREDIBLE amounts of fluff and softness.

hold out your hand, 'cause friends will be friends - the wife's favourite, and, as second fics go, pretty damn good, if I do say so myself. It's a Soulmates AU for Staticquake and Mackelena, with the focus being on DaisyMack friendship, and lots of denial, angst, and guilt about finding their soulmates. (They figure it out eventually, don't worry - it's me, of course I made them happy.)

Fitzsimmons + Fake Dating moodboard - Fake dating will always be FAB, and picturing it out in a moodboard - especially for my clueless bby best friends in love - was the best, and super satisfying.

Staticquake + Orange moodboard - One of the cooler ideas I had for Trick or Treat (which I still have not finished, heaven help me) was to make a series of moodboards for my OTP plus different colours. This orange one is just so light, and cheerful, and happy, and honestly I kinda adore it.

This Philindaisy + Family Moodboard - making moodboards can be insanely frustrating when you just can't find the photo that fits exactly right. With this one, however, I found all the pics I needed pretty insanely fast, and, better, the whole thing just worked, and really nicely so, too.

This Bus Kids + Baking Cookies moodboard - there's absolutely NO faults to be found with tiny, adorable Skye, Fitz and Jemma concocting choc chip cookies - but I'm actually doing a tiny cheat here, because, cute as my moodboard here is, the accompanying fic by my love @eowima is the SWEETEST and best thing you could ever wish for!!!

Chasing Cars (even after the story ends) by @aleksandrachaev - the epic Dekesy roadtrip AU and incredible Daisy character study itself, which, I do believe, finishes today!! Words aren't enough to describe how freaking AMAZING this thing is, or how spectacularly well characterised. Just: if you haven't read this yet, you are missing out. You will laugh, you will groan, you will want to wrap Daisy in a very tight hug, and you will probably cry, too. This fic just has it all, really!

there goes the maddest man this town has ever seen by @aleksandrachaev - the post-season 7 Deke-crashes-the-Framework-Zoom-call fic I didn't know I needed (but spent the next two weeks rereading every single night.) It is absolutely INCREDIBLE, with all the Deke & Team feels we missed in the final outro scene, and honestly just the most fantastic writing. I cannot recommend it enough!

To Box It Up And Start Again (everything must go) by @aleksandrachaev - bloody hell, this BROKE me. Deke never really got to say goodbye in canon, but Kat gave him the chance to do it here. And, my freaking GOODNESS, she made it so incredibly bittersweet and heart-shattering. 10/10

i am a leaf on the wind by @aleksandrachaev - a little bit of a stretched-out, reflective moment in the season 7 finale. As Daisy lingers on the edge of death, she reflects on all the lives she could have had - and, man, what a study in bittersweetness!! This entire fic is utterly incredible, and something I think all Daisy fans should read.

Falling Into Place by @aleksandrachaev - here's a tiny cheat from me (sorry, babes, lmao) because technically this isn't one fic, but a series of three. Way too amazing to miss out on, though!! Set mid-season 7, this has the Chronicoms go after a young Mary Sue Poots to kill Quake before she can become a problem for them. They stop the Chronicoms, yes, but not without a TREMENDOUS dose of feels and hurt/comfort. There's also a wonderful little dose of Dekesy friendship, and then an adult adoption (!!) that honestly made my entire day to read. Actually, that's true for the entire series - I really canNOT yell about it enough!!

destroyer of worlds by @bobbimorseisbisexual - a study in incredible parallels between Jiaying's daughters. Utterly breathtakingly done, this will give you ALL the feels for this small and complex Inhuman family.

Muscle Memory by @robotgort and @bobbimorseisbisexual - a Huntingbird!! Bones!! AU!! And also a collaboration between two of the most fabulous Huntingbird authors in the fandom - honestly, what more can you ask for?! This will make you laugh, and gasp, and wince, and keep you guessing at each new plot twist (and also screaming at your screen for Hunter and Bobbi to get their acts together and TALK ABOUT IT.) In short: it's completely and utterly amazing, and I cannot, cannot recommend it enough!!

You Belong Among the Wildflowers by @libbyweasley - a freaking incredible Scis & Spies Regency AU! I only just started reading, but I was hooked all the way through, especially on the way Libby writes all four characters' complex relationships (and their attraction, and their history!) Everything about it is just completely stunning, and I for one cannot WAIT for these beautiful idiots to figure out they all belong together.

Family Snapshot by @tomatobookworm - if it's family fluff you're after, especially Staticquake family fluff, look no further! This tremendously soft and utterly amazing fic follows a day in the lives of a pregnant Daisy and her husband Lincoln, and their not-so-little family of Inhumans, both adopted and biological. There's also shopping with Grandma May, lots of feels, lots of shippiness, and just AMAZINGNESS all the way through!!

Best Day Ever by @loved-the-stars-too-fondly - Jemma and Daisy want to adopt a pet, and make a very special trip to Wisconsin to do it. Also, whether he knows who he is or not, Jemma has an important question to ask Cal - and just, AHHHH, everything about this is utterly stunning! For starters, Aubrey's writing is FANTASTIC, and the scene she sets is absolutely beautiful, and so very bittersweet. I was actually misting up a little with happy tears towards the end of this - really, I cannot recommend this enough, to any Skimmons fan.

so why don't we go somewhere only we know by @loved-the-stars-too-fondly - more Skimmons (platonic this time, though), more hurt/comfort, and, yes, again, more absolutely INCREDIBLE writing. This one is canon compliant, following a shaken Jemma struggling to sleep after Maveth, and how Daisy finds a way to help her out. Incredibly sweet, tender and BEAUTIFULLY written, this one was an instant favourite the moment I read it!

Unspoken by @anxiouslynumbme - a birthday fic for yours truly, and, honestly, one of the most STUNNING Staticquake introspectives I've read. It follows Daisy and Lincoln in a beautifully tender missing moment in season 3, with them both realising their feelings, and just... AHHHHHHHH, everything about it is utterly incredible!! I cannot, cannot recommend this gem of a fic enough

the thing about water droplets and ruffled hair by @que-mint-tea - here's another fic that proves, once and for all, how good Kat's Dekesy is, because it managed to convert T to write some Dekesy smut. And, oh my GOSH, what Dekesy smut - so goshdarn angsty, but so FANTASTICALLY characterised and written that it leaves you more than a little breathless, and gaping at your screen. The first chapter initially left us on the most HORRIFIC cliffhanger, but then T fixed it, and it's just... this thing is really a whole new level of emotional writing, raw and gripping and intensely perfect for both of these characters. My haw still drops whenever I think of this thing, and how utterly AMAZING it was, so yeah. Fic rec!!!

beautiful stranger, there you are by @justanalto - I do believe I still owe Serena a long and very gushy comment on this thing, because, MAN, does it ever deserve that!! Pipsy and fake dating, with the most HILARIOUSLY incredible writing, plot and characterisation, and honestly just a giddy "askhdfkhsfh" whenever I think back to how much I enjoyed it. Yup, it was that good.

Jumping to conclusions by @eowima - a very special one, because it marks my love Océane's first venture into writing AoS fic! It's an AU of 1x06 (the Fitzsimmons episode of s1) where Fitz does actually jump out of the plane to save Jemma. Realisations of feelings, and some of the most genuinely FANTASTIC Fitz characterisation I've read in a while, follow - and, yup, I was shouting at my screen for them just to get together already. Amazing stuff, really!!

Look into your eyes and the sky's the limit by @eowima - okay, this. This. Another gift for me, and one that I will probably treasure forEVER, because it is just?? so?? utterly?? perfect?? Just for starters, the title is a Hamilton reference - and then the theme of Hamilton references continues into the fic itself, I'm delighted to say. There's also the most BEAUTIFUL, playful Skimmons friendship, and teasing, and then of course the bet about who can make out with their crush first... Staticquake & Fitzsimmons perfection. And all rendered in Océane's delightful, best-thing-ever-to-read writing!! I'm going into a giddy keyboard smash just THINKING about this, so yeah, cannot recommend it enough.

lullabies and clear blue skies by @springmagpies and @bobbimorseisbisexual - okay, I never thought I'd catch myself shipping FitzBobbi, let alone shipping it this hard, but... wow. Maggie and Al teamed up to completely blow me away, and MELT MY WHOLE ENTIRE HEART with the sheer cuteness of this!! It features Fitz, Bobbi and adopting two daughters, and it's just the most tender, beautiful development through that little family - I love it so, so much.

We made all the wrong choices by @browneyedgenius - the winner of the AoS Angst War 2020, how could I not include this one? It is such a well-deserved win, though, whoa - I was sobbing, full-on sobbing, at least twice while reading. It follows the season 5 team through the events of the time-loop, after they failed to save the world - and, oh my gosh, it ripped my heart right out of my chest, but beautifully so. Everything about this fic just hits so hard, and it's written so well - yeah, really a most AMAZINGLY deserved win, for an utterly SHATTERINGLY incredible fic.

I threw stones at the stars (but the whole sky fell) by @nazezdha321 - this is Z showing us all how to write a backstory for a minor character, and write it so well that everyone's hearts break all over again when she dies. This one is about Victoria Hand, and it builds a stirring and profound childhood for her, also making her rise through the ranks of SHIELD and just her entire character mean so much more. Really, fic-wise, this is goals, and I take my hat off to you, Z, 1000%, for writing it.

in which the universe is put together by @besidemethewholedamntime - Rebecca's emotional writing, particularly Fitzsimmons' emotions, is incomparable, and she proves it all over again in this fic. If follows Fitz and Jemma before, after and during the bloodwork, and I just... wow, honestly. The emotion!! And the characterisation!! Absolutely stunning, and honestly all I could wish for in a we-had-time fic.

Agents of SHIELD Season 8 by @egumal - THIS. This, this, this, oh my gosh - as fix-it fics go, this has to be the most spectacular one I have ever read. What it does is find a way - a potentially canon compliant way, too - to bring back Lincoln Campbell, and reunite Staticquake. Basically: just about as season 7 finishes, the Astro Ambassadors get an unexpected visitor from another timeline, who asks them to come help out against Hive. Case in point, Daisy meets her lost love again (... but he has no idea who she is) and also has to relive the Fallen Agent drama. It all gets even more complicated when Kora restores Lincoln's memories, and Daisy meets the full team Deke has assembled around him in the 33 years (for him) that they've been apart... in short, this is one of the most thorough, well-written and downright SHOCKING plot-twist-wise fics that you will ever read, and honestly, saying "I can't recommend it enough" is an understatement. This thing is thd BEST, plain and simple!

Black Roses aren't real (but you and I are) by @ohwriteiforgot - ahhhh, a fic that will always have an incredibly special place in my heart, because it introduced me to one of my best fandom friends. The main focus is on Clintasha, it's true, but it's also a crossover with AoS in the sense that Clint was adopted by Coulson and May. Also, Daisy is his little sister, and their bond is gold. Also - there's Staticquake!! And flower shops!! And rivals to friends to lovers!! All I'm going to say is, what more can you ask for?!

A book to shield my story by @maybebrilliant - Staticquake High School AU, ahhhhhhhh!! There are only two chapters out so far, but the way this is shaping up is making my DAY - with Daisy as the new girl who meets Lincoln and his group of friends, and, though her foster parents are absolutely shit, starts to find actual happiness in a school for the first time in her life. Also - THE REFERENCES. Guys. I'm crazy for those, and in this book, so are my favourite dorks, Daisy and Lincoln - and let me tell you, it's nothing short of the best thing ever.

This AoS Finale Gif Edit by @heysteverogers - AoS really has been the most INCREDIBLE journey through the years, but what's really made it special is the company - and that's summed up perfectly in this gorgeous gifset. Also, the graphics on this are just, ahhhh, stunning - I'm in awe, and I've spent very long periods of time just looking at this thing in a state of heart-eyes.

This AoS Finale Gif Edit by @jemannesimms - combining Auld Lang Syne and the final scenes of my favourite show was a raw emotional - but utterly brilliant experience - for me. It's just so absolutely beautiful, and perfectly suited to the team, and their goodbyes!! Breathtaking editing work here, too.

This Daisy as Peter Parker and May as Tony Stark moodboard by @agentsofcomedyandchaos - ahhhh, a crossover of two of my favourite fandoms!! And what a lovely one, too - the colour scheme, quotes, and just the whole FEEL of this is absolutely genius, and I am guilty of being inspired by way too many fic ideas by it. Stunning stuff!!

And... whoa, that was long, but I really do feel that we deserve a bit of a proper pat on the back after creating such magical content in such a messed up year. So that's the note I'm going to leave you with for 2020, my friends: hell-year or no, look at the absolute beauty we were still able to create!! We really are freaking amazing, guys.

okay okay okay EPISODE 6. I’m still… out of fucking breath. from the last one.

I didn’t plan on live-blogging because then I’d have to keep pausing to type but actually I’m having too much fun, I guess I’m liveblogging now

my posts just keep getting longer and more and more incomprehensible

I forgot to mention in my last one, but it was a really good call to include the whole “west ravka wants to secede” plot line. it adds a lot, politically, and also adds a sense of urgency. whereas the book is a little bit like, the darkling is kind of a dumbass if you think about it because ALL HE HAD TO DO WAS WAIT LIKE 50 MORE YEARS, WHICH IS NOTHING IN THE GRAND SCHEME OF THINGS, but now there’s definitely like. political urgency and necessity that the books don’t convey to the same degree.

also adds a lot of dimension to What Happens At The End of The Book. which, I’m not there yet, episode-wise. but liiiiiiiiike.

BEN! BARNES! HAS! THE! RANGE! oh I love that they let him be lovesick and terrifying back-to-back like this, god he’s so fucking good. like, we all knew? we all knew this was a stroke of absolute casting genius? but god I don’t think we were actually capable of realizing To What Degree

yo, real talk, why’s the darkling’s bed so short. dOES HE SLEEP WITH HIS LEGS DANGLING OFF THE END. this furniture is absolutely not proportionate to his height at all.

also it’s interesting how often he calls her “miss starkov” instead of alina, considering in the book he’s like “hello alina, how are you alina, alina how is alina today, alina I’ve seen what you truly are alina, FINE alina MAKE alina ME alina YOUR alina.” I’m pretty sure when I first read shadow and bone, literally the only reason I learned alina’s name is because he kept saying it

FASCINATING, CANON ZOYA/DARKLING???????????? honestly don’t know if I like that??? I prefer to think that he has not gotten laid in a couple hundred years because he’s just bad at being a person and isn’t actually as slick as he thinks he is. I cannot believe they un-canoned Zoya/Mal and canon’d this, UNEXPECTED. feels weird.

on the plus side, I genuinely want a polycule of a solid half the trilogy characters and I guess it’s getting more canon by the minute! this is zoya and her girlfriend alina and alina’s three boyfriends mal, darkling comma the, and nikolai, who are also or have been zoya’s boyfriends at one point or another plus alina’s girlfriend genya who is also zoya’s girlfriend genya and genya’s boyfriend david” I’m allowed a seven-person polyship right?

fedyor and ivan go on double dates with the seven-person polycule. it’s a really tight booth in restaurants.

also this is zoya’s ex-girlfriend nina who sometimes visits from ketterdam and brings her boyfriend and her girlfriend, and her girlfriend’s boyfriend, and his boyfriend, and his boyfriend.

AND THEN THEY ALL GET BRUNCH, THANK YOU AND GOOD NIGHT

baghra can come too but only because she likes getting day-drunk on mimosas with nikolai and bITCHING with him

I really like that Alina is about 10x more Actively Involved in everything that happens to her vs. in the first book where she’s more along for the ride

it is emotionally a weird experience to see Mal get pelted with a water bottle and go YEAAH followed by aw nah, he doesn’t deserve that. There is A Mal in another universe who deserves to get pelted by 15 water bottles but it is not this Mal. This Mal can stay. Book Mal is on thin fucking ice and will be pelted with water bottles. But Show Mal is Valid and Allowed. god Archie’s SO FUCKING good. I CANNOT BELIEVE I’M HAVING SOFT FEELINGS ABOUT THIS BUT HERE WE ARE, LIFE IS FULL OF SURPRISES, such is archie’s power and he deserves praise

I absolutely love the thought of the darkling, ivan, and david hanging out, because it’s like the three least social people in all of ravka. and they absolutely LOVE one another’s company because no one talks, there is no small talk, and they can just SIT in SILENCE and it’s nICE. sometimes they make brief eye contact and nod a couple times and then go back to politely sitting in silence.

GOD SO NOW I HAVE TO DECIDE!!!!! IT’S SO FUCKING TEMPTING TO WATCH 7 AND 8 TOMORROW NIGHT. IT IS SO TEMPTING. THEN I CAN UNBLACKLIST IT AND REBLOG ALL THE GIFETS.

BUUUUUUUT I have a busy and hectic week and 7 and 8 would be a really nice treat to have waiting for me NEXT Friday as motivation to get through the week
