been a loooong day. very sleepy. but! making progress on fi

#libra.txt #did somehow lose my pants for raine. that's frustrating #but also halfway finished with the poppy war! had to stop bc the power went out and i haven't gotten back to it yet #i want to draw i want to make stuff but i am so very very tired.#might be looking at getting a car soon though. yay #ugh and gotta talk to my aunt bc i can't find any trains going to [city] the day i need but she's offered to take me #she likes cons too so it could be fun and we get along fine enough #i'd stay with my friend and she'd stay at a hotel to get a break from her mom and it would all be fine #except. i haven't reached out to her. augh #planning is difficult.#i hadn't talked to her in like six years before last august #didn't go to her wedding and now she's getting a divorce and it all feels Weird

- i kinda like that she ended up looking like a mother-of-pearl inlay lacquerware!

- oh this was a subconscious choice, but Gale is sitting in seiza which is a posture for showing respect especially to elders. it's also known to be a painful position to sit in for extended periods of time, which is why it was sometimes used as a method of (morally dubious) punishment. however, experienced people can maintain this posture for much longer. food for thought :-)

- (edit: deleted this point bcs it didn't really make sense + detracted from the art a little;;)

it's easy to miss if you're able-bodied and extremely sheltered, but the fact that all architectural "accessibility" is designed with the (false) presumption that the disabled person in need of the accommodation will have an able bodied person to assist them, is a glaring oversight and failure of design, in my opinion

#vasira rambles #like those steep ramps for wheelchairs #idk if you've rolled a wheelchair uphill as the person in the wheelchair but it's an exhausting and difficult feat #but u can just slap a ramp onto a building and call it accessible #but it's only accessible if the wheelchair user has a motor on their chair or another person to assist #and that sucks #like ideally we all live to die of old age right #statistically in that case we will all become disabled at some point #but the way architecture and city planning is built has very little regard for this #and we are all worse off for it

So about a year ago, I started this Mewtwo style study, drawing some of the babytwos from members of the amazing commewnity, as well as some other characters from artists I greatly enjoy. Kappa, as a kangaskhan fusion, has natural motherly instincts and attracts children.

I tried to keep the proportions and shapes as accurate as possible to study as many designs and details as possible.

#textiles #quilting #sewing #i do not currently own an iron hence these being a little wonky lmao. once i can press the seams theyll prob look better #but i am enjoying this!! i'm just making a bunch of blocks without really planning what the outcome will look like #i'll figure out how to put them together at some point but it's nice to just sew some stuff together without an outcome in mind #(also its been really difficult to draw lately so this has been a nice relaxing creative outlet!!)

the democrats long term plan cannot just be "win every election for the next several decades" without doing literally anything at all to secure votes and protect voting rights. it is shocking to me how many of y'all just play along with this and blame VOTERS instead of the people who have power and refuse to even pretend to use it
