The Yesterday and Today of the protagonists of the news
LEE STARKEY. THE YOUNGEST DAUGHTER OF "BEATLE" RINGO STARR IS TODAY A FASHION DESIGNER AND HAS OPENED A FASHION BOUTIQUE IN HOLLYWOOD
The mythical Hollywood of the big stars looks at Lee Starkey, youngest daughter of Ringo Starr, the ex-member of The Beatles. Lee is now twenty-one years old, but she seems younger (“People look at me" –she explains– "and still think that I’m thirteen”) and she has become owner of a “boutique” in the elegant district of Los Angeles, where she sells bright spangles trousers, daring miniskirts and psychedelic fur tunics like if they were hot pastries. The shop is at the heart of the most fashion district of LA, Melrose Avenue, where famous stars like Madonna, Michelle Pfeiffer and Julia Roberts make their purchases.
“Daddy hasn’t helped me with money”, tells Lee, while she shows us her most favourite clothes designed by herself and her thirty-year-old partner Christian Paris. Lee continues explaining that her father gave her moral support and brought lots of friends to the opening of the boutique, which was last month [sic]. “He’s much exited" – she remarks – "that in the end I’ve found something that I love to do”.
Lee Starkey – that’s Ringo’s real surname – was five years old when her mother, Maureen, and her very famous father divorced in 1975. Both of them married again: her mother with Isaac Tigrett, Hard Rock Cafe founder, and Ringo with the actress Barbara Bach. However, when the youngest daughter of the former Beatle opened her “boutique” in Hollywood both parents attended with her brothers Zak, 25, and Jason, 24 [sic], to wish her luck.
“I’m not an expert of The Beatles”, admits Lee with a smile, adding next: “If I want to know something about them I ask to my father. But I’m a drawer and designer of sixties fashion. Is in those years where I find my inspiration. I’ve tried to bring the vibrations, the colours and the freedom of that style to the nineties”.
In what there is not any doubt is that with their store, Planet Alice, Lee is making a good business, showing that her idea was spot on. Lee, before being devoted to this, tried to introduce herself to the acting world, went to a make-up school and even she wanted to play drums. In the end she met her partner, Christian Paris, a well-known clothes designer of whom she says: “We are very affectionate to each other and this is platonic”. Paris was already owner of a Planet Alice shop in London, namely in Portobello. Also he owns one of the most fashionable discotheques in London, Alice in Wonderland. Now attending to Lee’s wishes, he has opened a new “boutique” in Hollywood.
“We opened it a month ago, but I can already say that Lee's idea has been successful. The sales demonstrate it”, says Christian, happy, after they’ve achieved to sell clothes that worth 1000$ to a group of Latin visitors from Miami, that they were dressed with clothes bought in Planet Alice. “Lee has a lot of energy and wonderful ideas" – he continues – "and when she starts to work, like today, the cash begins to sound”.
Ringo Starr and his first wife, Maureen, parents, like we’ve said before, of three children Zak, Jason and Lee, where divorced sixteen years ago, after having lived a great love story since their adolescence. Maureen was eighteen years old when she married Ringo. She worked then in a hairdresser of Liverpool and after marrying she passed of living in a modest neighbourhood with her family to a luxurious and elegant mansion in Tittenhurst Park, without limitation of expenses. However, those happy years would leave to the fret when Ringo, crawled by a vortex of the fame and the popularity, began to stop worrying of her and began to be related with other women. In the divorce demand that finally she had to outline, Maureen mentioned a model, Nancy Andrews, a young and very pretty dark-haired Californian woman, as the cause of the end of her marriage. This romance, however, didn't have a happy ending and time later the famous Beatles' drummer got married with the actress Barbara Bach, who had been married an Italian producer before. "I had never wanted to get divorced" - said Maureen later -."I adored Richie (it is this way she called to Ringo) and I felt a great affection and respect towards him." When her lawyer told her that to obtain the separation she should say to the judge that she didn't stand to live beside his husband, she cried bitterly and time later recognized: "I shouldn’t never have said that, because it was not true."
The three children of the marriage continued living with their mother, giving them Ringo Starr a generous pension. However, with time, Maureen claimed in the tribunals an increase of it sustaining that, used to the deluxe life that her husband had accustomed them, she had requested little money. "The boys continue living with me" - she said - "and for them I take this step." Each one followed their own road later and, in 1985, Ringo and Maureen became grandparents. Their older son, Zak, then aged nineteen years old and being drummer like his father, had a daughter named Tatia Jayne. Ringo Starr was the first member of the Beatles to become a grandfather. In that occasion Ringo Starr himself, his former-wife, Maureen, and with them their other two children Jason and Lee, they went together to the hospital where the little girl was born. Maureen Kox [sic] - this was her maiden name - married time later the millionaire Isaac Bach [sic] and in 1987 they had a daughter.

My Ideal Revival of the Disney Heroes Franchise
What you’re looking at is the official logo for a now defunct franchise known as Disney Heroes.
Disney Heroes was basically meant to serve as the sister…..or more appropriately, the brother franchise of the Disney Princesses, with the focus being placed on the male heroes of the Disney pantheon.
The franchise initially started back in 1999, but under the name of Disney Adventurers. Not only that, but the line-up was rather small, consisting of the titular protagonists of Hercules, Aladdin, Peter Pan, and their most recent film at the time, Tarzan.
The franchise mainly existed through toys, with some notable merchandising besides that here and there.
The franchise remained this way until about 2003, when it got a notable revamp.
The franchise would get its current name and it would expand the roster quite a bit. The new members included Merlin and Arthur from The Sword in the Stone, Robin Hood, Prince Phillip from Sleeping Beauty, and Li Shang from Mulan.
I also think Simba from The Lion King was a part of the roster as well, I think I remember seeing him on a backpack done for the franchise.
But in 2005, the Disney Heroes franchise had a another revamp…this one notably different from the previous ones.
Although the franchise mainly existed through toys and play-sets that more or less stayed faithful to their respective films, these however…..
Your eyes are not deceiving you….these were actual action figures created and designed by Disney for the Disney Heroes franchise…..and I couldn’t be anymore happier.
Hercules looks like an ancient Greek warrior with the golden armor, plus he’s carrying a big xiphos and a golden shield with the face of a lion.
Peter Pan is now sporting some tan gloves, boots, and ever a mask, carrying a bow and quiver of arrows alongside his trusty dagger.
And Captain Hook has a more swashbuckling look, and his rapier has been replaced with a big ass cutlass!
Prince Phillip and Maleficent were also apart of this line-up of action figures as well.
Phillip had a more knight-like appearance, even having a helmet with a golden falcon on top.
And Maleficent…well, she was in her dragon form.
Sadly, only five action figures were made in this style….
And it’s a shame, given that there were plans to revamp the franchise with a more action-oriented style.
These designs by Disney animator Ruben Procopio for planned future figures for the franchise really highlight this…
Aladdin was gonna look like an Arabian Knight, complete with a dagger and a huge ass scimitar that would make Cloud Strife impressed.
Tarzan was gonna go for a Conan the Barbarian-esque look, complete with a headband, a vest, a tooth necklace, boots, and even a quiver filled with spears, knives, and arrows.
And as you could see, they were even gonna introduce The Beast from Beauty and the Beast as a new member of a roster, with the appearance of a warrior prince and a mace as his weapon.
Unfortunately, these figures never came to be....
Although Disney Heroes franchise was doing decently fine, it was nowhere near the level of success of the Disney Princesses.
As a result of that, Disney slowly but surely phased out the franchise over the next three years.
By 2008, the Disney Heroes franchise silently ended, only merchandising through coloring books and their only new addition since 2003 being....of all characters....Milo Thatch from Atlantis: The Lost Empire.
So yeah....that's pretty much the story of the Disney Heroes franchise.
It's honestly a shame because I could totally see this franchise being pretty successful today.
And given the rise of nostalgia and crossovers in media over the last decade, I could see this being an absolute goldmine for all parties involved.
And today, I'm gonna share on how I think a revival of the Disney Heroes franchise should play out.
.It would aim more towards a older audience, mostly teenagers, similar to the Disney Villains franchise. It wouldn't really focus all that much on toys like the Disney Princesses, though there would be some figurines here and there, instead focusing on media that's more accessible with a older crowd like novels, comic books, video games, and even animation.
.Unlike it's previous iteration, and to that extension the Disney Princesses, it would be more gender-neutral, featuring male and female representatives of most of the represented films as members of the roster.
.Also unlike the Princesses, this franchise has its own backstory. Various Disney villains have joined forces in other to further their respective goals. In retaliation, a group of various Disney heroes, led by Merlin, have united to fight against the villainous alliance and protect their respective realms. I know it's a pretty simple premise, but I think it's the perfect that way.
.The franchise will have a major focus on action and adventure....which for a franchise like this, should be expected.
.Many of the characters will be receiving redesigns in the veins of the ones done for the franchise back in 2005, which give off a fantasy warrior, almost Dungeons n' Dragons vibe. While these wouldn't be to the extent as say, Disney Mirrorverse, they would clearly by different from the characters' usual attire and makes them come off as more like warriors ready for adventure and battle.
.The series will essentially expand on the worlds of the films and bring in elements from their original source materials, official continuations like the TV shows, and even the cultures they represent.
Okay, now that we got the major elements out of the way, I'm gonna briefly share who would be apart of the roster for this new franchise, and list them in chronological order of movie release.
.Alice
.Peter Pan
.Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip
.Merlin and Arthur
.Mowgli
.Robin Hood
.Ariel and Eric
.Belle and Beast
.Aladdin and Jasmine
.Simba
.Pocahontas and John Smith
.Quasimodo
.Hercules and Megara
.Fa Mulan and Li Shang
.Tarzan and Jane Porter
.Milo Thatch and Kida Nedakh
.Jim Hawkins
.Tiana and Naveen
.Rapunzel and Eugene Fitzherbert
.Merida
.Anna and Elsa
.Moana and Maui
Just imagine.....seeing this iconic heroes going on various adventures, from the hottest deserts to the deepest jungles. Fighting against mythical monsters, thieves, wild beasts, villainous knights, deadly invaders, mysterious spirits and swashbuckling pirates!
Anyway, that's all for now. I'm planning to go more in-depth on this idea, fleshing out the characters and their worlds.
If you have any ideas for this franchise, let me know.

There’s nothing worse than a hangover. Jules has handled dozens in her time, but all when she was much younger, more agile to bounce back. Nothing could’ve stopped her the morning after a night out in college – hell, she’d taken one of the most important finals of her life hungover and damn near aced it. But now, not even Tylenol is touching the pounding in her skull.
Sighing, she drops her head into the cradle of her hands, running her fingers through her hair. Her ‘free for the weekend’ motto hadn’t considered that her more productive self made an appointment in the library archives at seven the next morning. She mumbles some half-hearted words of encouragement to herself before shifting in her seat and taking a deep breath. On the exhale she swipes the hair from her neck up into a mangled mess away from her eyes. There’s no one else here – everyone else is home properly recovering, or, maybe waking up with that stranger from the night before in their bed.
Jules would much prefer that to this. On the circumstance that it might be Shane. She can’t quite shake the vision of her from her mind, having tossed and turned over her all night. Not to say Jules regrets leaving her at the bar, but she can’t stop imagining what it would have been like to stay. The heat of Shane’s fingerprints are burned into the skin around her hip, the taste of Marlboro reds somehow still on her lips.
“Juliana?” A voice interrupts her daydreams. “Did you want me to get the next box down for you?”
An older woman from the archives stands in front of Jules, her hands perched on the desk for support. Jules shakes her head, clearing her throat. Right, the research. The whole reason she’s here in the first place. The project that quite literally drove her to drinking over the weekend.
“Please.”
The woman nods and turns on her heel back down to the front of the room, her skirt swishing with each step. Jules looks back to the papers sprawled across her desk. There are a few photos scattered about, one catching her attention. Picking it up carefully – by the edges as she was instructed prior to entering the archives – she squints to make out the image.
There’s a blonde woman standing in front of what looks to be a whiteboard full of markings she can’t quite make out. The woman is smiling, obnoxiously big, her pixie cut sticking up in various directions. Jules chuckles, flipping the photo over, a caption scrawled in blue ink on the back.
Alice Piezecki showcasing ‘The Chart’. Color. 2004.
She can’t stop herself from wondering about the context of the photo. More importantly, how did something this recent make it into the archives so quickly? It’s less than five years old. And into the box she specifically requested, labeled, “A Queer History of Los Angeles County”?. Though, most importantly, how did she not recognize this woman or whatever this chart was? Jules taps her fingers against the desk. It’s maybe not surprising, though, one could study queer history all their lives and never fully experience all its aspects. And Jules’ life has, quite literally, been here – in the California University School of Arts library – since she started her program four years ago.
Jules flips the photo back over. She stares at the glossy paper, the unintelligible writing on the whiteboard coming to life. It’s a list of names. Well, not a list but a chart, all of the names connected to one another by lines of varying color. Some of the names are emphasized, bolded or circled, somehow noting their significance over others. Most of the names are unfamiliar to her, but Jules jots them all down in her notebook, underlining where appropriate. All of these women, tied together somehow.
She continues down the line, her handwriting devolving to scrawl, the list impossibly long. Francesca, Marina, Max, Jenny…
Shane.
Jules stops, her eyes lifting from the paper. A name she recognizes. A name both bolded, underlined, and circled. Her heart pounds in her chest although she’s sitting firmly in her chair. For a second she swears the library has transformed into the club, Shane’s dark eyes staring directly at her. The Chart. The women outside the bathroom.
“Tell Shane to fuck you in the men’s room next time.”
Jules laughs to herself. She was so drunk she thought those women were genuinely upset about her and Shane preventing their access to the bathroom. She turns her attention back to the chart, shaking her head with disbelief as she follows the myriad of lines connecting Shane’s name to what appeared to be hundreds of others. She may as well add her own now. She jots it down in her notebook.
Jules.
Part of her is angry, her face red with embarrassment. The other part of her can’t believe the discovery she’s just made. Something like this – the chart – would be integral to her dissertation. Before she’s able to make up her mind on her true feelings, the woman from the archives is calling her name from across the room, lifting the next box. Jules listens to the swooshing of her skirt as she approaches, breathing through her cacophony of emotions.
“Here you go, dear,” she says, setting the box down onto the desk with a thud. “Can I do anything else for ya?”
Jules smiles, lifting the photo up. “Yeah, could I get a copy of this?”
…
Sunday morning. Sun streams in through the window, bathing the bedroom in a wash of yellow light. Cars honk on the street outside as dozens of locals make their morning commutes. Shane wakes to the light, crossing an arm over her eyes as she yawns. It’s bright. Too bright. She flips over onto back, knocking into something – no, someone – in her bed as she adjusts to her surroundings.
The room is familiar, her own.
“Fuck,” she groans. She made a rule a few months ago to go anywhere but back to her own place. It made things easier, much less messy – figuratively and literally. Shane wouldn’t have to worry about women getting attached and she could disappear without consequence. She’s always been good at that.
“Well good morning,” the woman mumbles, turning to face Shane. She’s pretty, they always are. Her eyes are brown, doe-like, her chin-length red hair splayed out on the pillows, her bangs hanging just above her long, fluttering lashes.
Shane smiles briefly before pushing herself up and out of the bed. She can’t linger here with this woman even if she might want to. Anyway, she couldn’t really remember where they met – The Planet? No, that was Thursday night. The club, maybe? A memory washes over her, being left in the bathroom stall by that nameless blonde. She needed to get off, to soothe her bruised ego? Maybe, but Shane wouldn’t admit that to anyone out loud. Rejection is uncomfortable, it doesn’t happen to her often.
“Yeah, good morning,” Shane replies, crossing the room to slip on a t-shirt. She checks herself in the mirror, ruffling her hair until it settles in a way she likes. She turns back to the woman, whose name she couldn’t remember, who’s now sitting up in her bed, the covers slipping down her nude chest. God, Shane could easily give it all up and dive right back into those sheets. She bites the inside of her lip, holding herself to where she stands near the window. “I, uh, forgot I have a couple of clients to get to today.” It’s a lie. She plans on keeping the shop closed today, one of the perks to owning her own salon. In all honesty Shane doesn’t have any plans.
“Oh.” The woman sighs, nodding. She’s clearly disappointed. Shane looks away when she rolls out from under the covers, fully nude, quickly dressing in her outfit from last night. When she sees the ‘Kit Porter’ branded t-shirt, it all comes flooding back. The alluring eyes that met her as she left the bathroom, the beckoning finger she gave this woman, and the way she could barely make out the road on the drive home, what with this woman all over her. Shane was shameless, she’d have fucked this woman right in the middle of the club, but she’d already been turned down once. Which is how they ended up here, in Shane’s room.
“Do you need a ride?” Shane asks, raising an eyebrow.
The woman shakes her head. “No, I’m good. I just, uh, here –” she bends over to pick her bag up off the floor, pulling out a pen. She pulls the cap off and closes the space between her and Shane in a few small steps. Shane chuckles, shaking her head, women never cease to amaze her. She loves them, loves this game of push and pull. I want you, but I’m going to hope you chase me. But Shane doesn’t chase, she doesn’t need to.
She doesn’t object when the woman takes her hand and flips it over, writing a string of numbers on her palm. The woman smirks, rolling Shane’s hand into a fist and kissing it when she’s finished. “Call me, okay?”
“Okay,” Shane replies, swerving when the woman comes in for a kiss. The woman laughs and pulls away. Shane watches as she saunters out of the room and out the front door.
She wonders where she’ll go and if they’ll ever see each other again. Los Angeles, despite its size, is somehow incredibly small. She’d see her again, Shane knows it, and she hopes the woman won’t be upset when they run into one another months from now, when she realizes that Shane never called.
It’s not her fault, it’s just the way Shane’s wired.
She yawns, shrugging her shoulders, and swipes her phone from the dresser dialing a familiar number.
“I can’t believe it!” Alice laughs, tossing her head back.
Tina slides into the booth, her hands wrapped around a tall cappuccino. She raises an eyebrow, looking between Alice and Shane.
“Believe what?” she asks.
Helena leans in, reaching for an almond croissant sitting on the plate in the center of the table. The Planet is where the girls ‘break bread’, debriefing their nights and latest escapades. Though, sometimes, Shane would prefer to keep things a bit closer to her chest, especially the way they’ve blown up the incident of the night prior back at the club.
“Shane was left high and dry at SheBar last night,” Helena says between bites.
Tina laughs. “Losing your power, Shane?”
Shane shakes her head. “We were interrupted, she got spooked, no big deal.” She shrugs and sits back against the booth, sinking down into the leather seat.
“Just admit it, Shane,” Alice pokes. “This girl had a moment of clarity and didn’t want to fuck you!”
“What does it matter?” Bette interjects, lifting her arm from around Tina’s shoulders to interrupt. “It’s not like she went home alone.” A smile creeps onto Bette’s lips, feeling smug as she picks at the crumbs of a muffin.
Shane shoots her a look. She was certain no one saw her leave with her redhead accomplice. Shane should’ve known nothing gets past Bette. She’s always been hyper observant.
Alice scoffs, rolling her eyes in disbelief. “I’d say I’m surprised, but I should learn to expect nothing less from you, Shane.”
Max looks up from his computer for the first time since they all gathered at the table. “Fuck, Shane, I just finished updating the site.”
This elicits a confused look from the entire group, the taunts towards Shane finally ceasing.
“The site?” Shane asks, thankful for the attention off of her for a few seconds.
Alice and Max share a look.
“I’m having Max put the chart online, you know, make it more…interactive.”
“The chart?” Tina repeats. “The chart from your apartment?”
“Our Chart,” Max clarifies. He flips his laptop around to showcase the website to the table. There’s a spindling web of lines connecting various names together. Everyone at the table recognizes their own names, following their own little universes of connection. Max taps on his own name to demonstrate, his cosmo filled with two lines, one to Jenny and another to a name Shane didn’t recognize.
“Alice, this is ridiculous,” Bette says, directing Max back to the mainpage. “These are the intimate details of people’s sex lives.”
“And they love it!” Alice defends.
Shane leans back in her seat. It didn’t matter to her. She couldn’t really understand the obsession with the chart in the first place, when Alice first drafted it. She remembers being in her apartment the day Alice created it, snapping a photo of her. She remembers seeing her own name circled in red ink, her web taking up near half of the whiteboard. She didn’t care. Shane never makes it a point to keep track of her sexual conquests, she simply enjoys getting off when and where she can, with who she can. The human connection. The body of a woman – the way it feels, the way they taste, the warmth of skin against skin.
“Listen, all I know is that we’ve got just over a thousand hits and the site has only been up for a couple of days.”
“A thousand?” Helena echoes Max’s statement. He nods.
“Well shit, Al,” Shane chuckles, taking a sip of her coffee. “To Our Chart.” She raises her glass and Alice smiles proudly, knocking their mugs together.

Somehow I feel like this chapter is both most and least comforting from all the ones written already. But I really like how it turned out anyway, so please, enjoy.
Chapter XIV
"Lover of the stars"
Hours passed and Alice was still sitting in the same spot, her eyes focused on the, now cold, tea in her cup. Both pros and cons of that decision seemed to weigh the same. It would be bad to betray it all, everything she knew until now. Sure. But oh how much she wanted to learn more, how to silence her mind on her own or at least how to deal with that pain without another catastrophe, like the one in the city. What surprised her the most, was the fact that Cassandra didn’t push at her at all. She just finished her tea, got up and left her here, alone. Not something she expected at all, no… Alice expected anger and demand for the answer, for frustration to arise over time and get loud. But it was calm, dust still like a golden glitter falling through the air and almost orange sun rays.
On one hand, she didn’t want to agree, what if Wade and Logan find her? They’ll feel betrayed. They won’t want her anymore, as she’ll become as much of a villain as Cassandra is. On the other hand, it wasn’t guaranteed that they’ll ever find a way to get here. To the Void at all, more even find her in that vast space. She sighed, finally finishing the tea and getting up from the table. Her body felt stiff from sitting down for so long, she stretched, welcomed by well known cracks of her joints and spine, filling out the empty space. She frowned at it, it was suddenly so loud and overwhelming. She could’ve run. Or at least it felt like that. To just jump out from the window and make a run for it, maybe she’d manage to escape, find Laura and others if they’re still here, but she felt like someone tied a heavy, metal ball to her legs. She wouldn’t run. Of course not. It’d feel like a betrayal. Cassandra didn’t kill her, she trusted her and gave her time and space to make a decision. Running away would make her into an ungrateful coward. So Alice just sat down in what seemed to be the window and also eye socket of this gigantic skull.
Her legs dangling in the air, as her mind remained as crowded as ever. Sure, the decision seemed simple. Say no, try to run and save your life, find a way to go back home. But there was so much more to it. She learned so much in such a short time and it made it all so much more difficult. Her dad not being her father, her mother being part of some fucked up agency that apparently not only sentences people to the Void, but also experiments on them if they’re interesting enough. Her powers getting out of control and warping time in some very wrong ways… What’s next? Waking up to it all being just a dream? On the same bench in the park, when she was fourteen and ran away from home for the first time? Or maybe when she was five, waking up in the garden to rain soaking her in seconds? Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad for it to be just a dream. At least it’d be a bit more bearable.
She sighed, watching the people, Cassandra’s pawns, move down there, talk and enjoy each other's company. Will it happen to her as well if she says yes? To become just a mindless pawn with no free will, trapped in this corpse's arms? Not a very bright future, but with a warm undertone of belonging somewhere. With other freaks of nature, similar to her. It was all so messed up, right? She should’ve wanted to go home. Go back to those that cared for her, and yet she was contemplating about staying here, with some maniac woman, who’ll probably just use and discard her.
She shook her head, raising her eyes to look at the darkening sky. Only now noticing that there was more than one moon, several colorful points that were probably some long forgotten planets or stars. Right. Everything that ended and was not needed anymore, was in the Void. Not only things but also parts of nature. Stars… So many constellations lost through time, from so many universes, now painting that sky in some color she couldn’t even name anymore. It was breathtaking. So she just sat there, watching them like a little kid watches a christmas tree, while sparkles in her own eyes were brighter than the stars in the night sky.
“You like the stars? How peculiar.”
Alice jumped in place, hearing Cassandra behind herself so suddenly. She should’ve expected that, after all she was in her empire, not even held against her will, just stuck there.
“You almost gave me a heart attack.”
Alice said back, her undertone carrying that little angry snap, mixed with guilt and shame. She didn’t mean to be mean. It just happened. On its own.
“You’re angry. About?”
“Of course I’m angry. From what I heard I don't have any other variant. It's just me. In the whole multiverse it's just me, no copies, and yet I was deemed useless enough to be sent into this hellhole! 21 years of living hell just to be sent here without even a glimpse of a happy ending!"
Saying it out loud helped to tidy her mind a bit, sort it into the right places, instead of wandering around it with no purpose at all.
"Even your anger is gentle..."
"What?"
"When I get angry I skin people alive or throw them to that hungry maniac. You barely raised your voice at me..."
Cassandra spoke gently, for no reason at all, but something told her to act like so. Despite not being around this girl for most of the day, she still kept her eye on her in some ways. That’s how she knew the turmoil of emotions that was inside this girl's head and heart. Gnawing mess of fiery anger, quiet guilt and murky tiredness. For the first time in years, Cassandra felt something close to empathy, while looking at Alice. So many unanswered questions, all leading to thinking she was at fault for it all, just because she was born like this. It must hurt to know you were born for a purpose of being nothing for others, for a purpose of being pushed aside and forgotten even by the closest ones to you.
“You don’t know how to be angry. Truly furious. You carry too much guilt in yourself to reach it.”
Cassandra was back to her usual, monotone voice, simply stating another fact. Leaving Alice even more sheepish, causing her to look away towards the sky once more. To let her mind wander away from this moment, almost like she was trying to protect herself from any further harm. Maybe she was. Maybe facing the truth was too much for a beautiful night like this one. Cassandra just sighed, when there was no reply again. She expected that, of course, she would’ve been surprised if there would be any response at all. But as much as she wanted to force this girl to talk, she decided to give it up for now. The days in the Void are countless, and time barely passes through a land of forgotten things and people. Through this empire built on lies and false hope. Instead, Nova just sat down by Alice, without any more words, just took off her coat to not sit on it, as getting off dust from a beige fabric was hell to do, even with her powers. The cold reached her skin, causing goosebumps to appear, it’s been a while since she felt it, usually she was already hidden away in her favorite spot in this place, away from everything and everyone.
Nova looked towards Alice once more, seeing her relax, strands of poorly dyed hair moving along with the night winds, but the tension from her face was almost gone, jaws unclenched, eyebrows relaxed, breathing slowly. Maybe, just maybe, Cassandra for a split second felt bad about the upcoming betrayal. Giving up this unfamiliar calmness for craving power. But she just wanted to show the world, universe, the whole multiverse.. What she was made for since day one. That she was meant to rule over bigger things than just some trash dump of nowhere. That she was meant to be looked up to and feared, that she was the strongest telepath, not her oh so loved twin. He done nothing. She knew that much, that he did nothing, every variant of him being nothing but a failure in terms of this amazing power, failed in saving other mutants with her as well. He was nothing but a failure. Wasn’t he?
“...”
She looked towards Alice again, catching onto the fact that she said something, but this time it was Cassandra’s mind getting loud and tuning out everything around.
“What?”
She squinted her eyes at the girl in front of her. This time her tired eyes focused on Nova instead of the night sky. How ironic to be called Nova and have a star lover stare at you.
“You’ll get cold. You shouldn’t sit here without your coat.”
Cassandra found herself completely dumbfounded. Was… Was this girl caring for her? After all the threats, the tries to kill her, all that play that was made just to hurt her, she was caring? It was unbelievable. For a moment there, Nova took it as an offense, some cruel joke that was meant to make her out as weakling that can’t even handle sitting in a cold night, ready to get angry, maybe even attack, but… It wasn’t it. She heard it many times that for humans, eyes are the windows to the soul, to everything that’s true. There was no malice or hatred, there was genuine care for some reason.
“I’ll be fine. You on the other hand, I don’t want to have you coughing and having your snot everywhere around. You can’t regenerate like I do. Go inside.”
Switch to a more cold and aggressive tone. Safe way out. It was always working, and also kind of true. The last thing she wanted right now was to have a coughing, sneezing, complaining mess here. After all, all the meds in the Void were the failed ones as well, it won’t help and might make it only worse, and dealing with that alone sounded like a headache. But this girl, this weird creature made to look like a human, just smiled at her, shaking her head and looking back at the sky. The audacity. Ugh, the things she had to do to earn her trust to use her powers more freely for her own will. Insanity. Pure insanity.
Cassandra got up and left with no more words said, while Alice stayed there, watching the sky follow with even more stars that probably didn’t have a name anymore. Or were long forgotten, but just as pretty as the day they were lost forever. Alice could sense that this calm was just a moment before a real storm, but it somehow soothed her soul, at least enough to make it possible to make her final decision. She was watching the stars for a bit more, watching the moons and planets to come to their full glory. Maybe she’ll regret it, or maybe not only her life would change the moment she’ll voice her idea. But something from inside, something almost unreal, told her that this is a right thing to do, maybe it was just the voices, or maybe it was something connected to her time warping ability giving her a glimpse towards the future. She got up, taking a step into the dimly lit room.
“ Cassandra.” She spoke, gaining the attention of the other woman that was once again sitting by the tea table, her sharp blue eyes falling onto Alice. “I agree to stay here with you. To learn from you about my powers.”
She felt a sharp pain in her chest for a short while. Pain of betraying those that loved her, and were now probably looking for a way to get her back. But maybe, if she learns enough, she’ll fix it all, just so it'll be again the end of a particularly hot summer, when her headache was too much, and the balcony was in full bloom.
“I knew you’d make the right choice.”

RINGO STARR’S DAUGHTER LEE
1991, November 2nd - HELLO! Magazine
Spotlight on the children of the stars
RINGO STARR’S DAUGHTER LEE
Sixties Fashion – not The Beatles – is what this young tycoon is into
Just look at Ringo Starr’s little girl now!
The ex-Beatle’s daughter, Lee Starkey, now 21 (“People look at me and still think I’m 13”), has become Hollywood’s latest fashion tycoon, selling dazzling sequined hot pants, microscopic mini skirts and psychedelic kaftans like hot-cakes from her very own boutique, slap in the middle of Los Angeles' trendiest district, Melrose Avenue.
“Daddy didn’t help at all with money,” says Lee, giving a delighted spin as she proudly models a selection of her favourite gear, all designed by herself and her partner, Christian Paris, 30.
“Daddy has given me plenty of moral support though – he brought all his friends to our grand opening. Sometimes he just walks in unexpectedly and drags people in off the street to see our clothes!
“He’s thrilled that at last I’ve found something I love to do.”
Lee Starkey was five when her mother Maureen and famous father Ringo divorced in 1975. And although her parents have since remarried (her mother to Hard Rock Cafe founder Isaac Tigrett, and Ringo to actress Barbara Bach) the extended family are all fast friends.
And when their little girl opened her very own boutique in Hollywood, both parents turned up along with brothers Zak, 25, and Jason, 23, to cheer her on.
“I’m by no means an expert on the Beatles,” admits Lee with a pretty smile. “If I want to know something about the Beatles, I simply ask my dad. But what I am drawn to is the fashions of the Sixties. That’s where I get my inspiration. I’ve tried to bring the vibrancy and colour and freedom of those fashions into the Nineties.”
And Lee’s splashily painted shop, dubbed Planet Alice, is doing a roaring trade, proving her ideas have hit the jackpot.
Lee tried acting, make-up school and even the drums before she finally hooked up with partner Christian Paris of whom she says: “We’re very fond of each other, but it’s just platonic.”
Christian already owned a Planet Alice store in London’s Portobello Road, a business he operated along with the London disco Alice in Wonderland.
He still owns his disco, but under Lee’s urging he’s now relocated his clothing boutique to Hollywood.
“We’ve only been open a month, but already I can see Lee’s idea was sound – sales are blistering,” says Christian happily, as he rings up a $1,000 sale to a group of visiting Miami Latinos who were dressed in clothes bought at Planet Alice only the previous day.
“Lee has so much energy, such wonderful ideas. And when she starts modelling like today – the cash register fairly clangs!”

I had a dream that during an interview leonard nimoy talked about a cut scene during TOS where spock was on a space station teaching a group of children from a bunch of different races - human, klingon, andorian, cardiassian (even tho they were introduced in TNG iirc), etc - about appreciating the value of every creature's life, all while holding/petting a tiny brown bunny near his chest and the gentlest of smiles and it was the sweetest thing
I vaguely remember him saying something along the lines of "these little four legged devils are the bane of doctor McCoy's existence, but still hold many virtues" and it was precious. Nimoy said something like he wanted spock to smile even the tiniest bit during the scene because it's something he truly believes in (IDIC) and is passing along to children; his father was a teacher as well as an ambassador and spock eventually becomes one too in twok (and in many ways this smile was leonard nimoy shining through the character of spock)
It was a good dream
