The World's End...I'd rate this a pint and a laugh?

The Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy, the Cornetto Trilogy, those three British guys trilogy...call you what you will but it comes to end your world. Or at least the non-laughter and boringness of it all. And to be honest, couldn't we all do with a little less of that junk? Luckily Edgar Wright, Nick Frost, and Simon Pegg is here to save the day, from a far away land!

The World's End is the story of one aging man trying to rekindle his youth and convince his four friends to go on an infamous pub-crawl called The Golden Mile in their home town. They get there and everything is sort of the same but sort of different. What's going on?! Oh no...what can we do? How about drink? Excellent idea; and they do just that. But then bad stuff happens and they need to figure out just what the heck is going on. That much can probably be picked up from the trailers but that is all I will say. Who enjoys spoilers unless it is to a REALLY old movie or a really stupid movie?

TWE is quite deep. As Simon Pegg said in our Q&A, comedies should be based on foundation with jokes on it so if a joke fails, the whole movie doesn't suffer. That is exactly what they did here. This movie is really thought out and the jokes are on mark. I definitely need to see it again cause everyone was laughing so hard that you miss some of the lines of dialogue. But I think they wrote it so even if you missed something because laughter, it doesn't ruin the movie or you aren't missing anything necessary. As I started this paragraph, the movie is really deep. There is foreshadowing (that isn't too obvious) and so many nods to many things that you just don't find in modern day cinema. This flick definitely requires multiple viewings and I can't wait to do it.

One of the most stand-out things to me in this movie was the action. There is a heck of a lot action in here. Once it comes, there is no stopping it. Edgar Wright mentioned how he wanted to try to do as much long, one-shots as possible because the vibe and the actors staying in character (yay no stunt-doubles except once) and it pays off. There are quite a few long shots that simply look studying and stands out from most action films today. It almost feels like an ode to Oldboy but then they kept doing it and made it their own and I wouldn't have it any other way. Also, Nick Frost is the BEAST!!!

If I have to rate this film in the trilogy, I would have to say this is probably my favorite. It is about fun and good times as well as darkness (probably one of their darkest films as they say) that really sticks with you. There were good laughs, great action, one heck of plot, and so much stuff buried in the film that this should be an instant classic.

Go see this film as soon as you can! I'm Boo-Boo!
