I like to wonder what must have been going through Jack Crawford's mind when he witnessed this scene.

Like— A dangerous criminal, the Chesapeake Ripper, surrenders outside the home of your most valued criminal profiler, saying he wants the said profiler to always know where he is and where to find him, while looking at him like a kicked puppy?

Jack: Good job, Will. What you two are tho, gays?

Freddie Lounds:

recognised a very specific brand of hostility in Will, which made her sense that Will might be the murderer

figured out that Abigail killed Nicholas Boyle

probably the first (besides Hannibal and Will themselves) realized how unusual relationship between Will and Hannibal is (and almost died because of it)

called Hannibal and Will “murder husbands”

Honestly, I see so many people saying that Hannibal saved Abigail in that particular moment for Will or out of curiosity, but...

Although Hannibal is driven by curiosity, I believe there is another, more prosaic reason.

Hannibal is a doctor.

In my country, people working in the fields associated with medicine (even massage therapists or physiotherapists) must provide medical help if they see there is something wrong with someone's medical condition, even if they are not at work, because otherwise they lose their license.

So if Hannibal, as a doctor who had been working in the emergency room as a surgeon for years, had not provided help, it would have been suspicious, especially since there was a witness (Will). If he didn't want to draw suspicion to himself, he had to help Will save Abigail's life.

He had no other choice.

Guys, there's a lot going on. Does this mean we will finally get the fourth season???? Does this mean we will get the fourth season??? Hannibal ended 9 (nine!) years ago, what do you mean that Mads Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy got the MAIN stage at the C2E2??? And why announce this on the anniversary of the premiere of the first episode of the series???? I'm going insane here.

Do you remember Freddie Lounds' articles from the show that came out during the Red Dragon case?

If no, then here they are, because I would like to talk about them for a moment:

In the series, Will seems furious that he “had to justify himself to an eleven-year-old”, but in the book, Will was not happy about it either, as he would rather talk to his stepson (in the series: Wally, in the book: Willy) on his own terms about his past, which means killing a man (G.J. Hobbs) and being in a mental institution, but Lounds made this impossible for him.

However reading these articles, I think the questions Wally asked Will aren't the worst.

Here is the orginal script, which is also very much the same in the book:

Given that Freddie Lounds had been involved with Will's “case” from the very beginning, knew that Will and Hannibal were Abigail's surrogate fathers, that Will had followed Hannibal to Europe, and even called them “murder husbands”, Freddie could remind all of that in these articles if she wanted to, but she didn't.

If she did, the questions Wally asked Will were always could be worse, like “Dad, why is the press calling you Hannibal the Cannibal's murder husbands? And what does it mean that you had a child together????”.

Be grateful for that, Will.

Since I'm delulu and I love to have everything nice and in order, and a lot has been going on lately in this fandom, I need to sort this all out in my head and I decided to share these facts that may indicate that we will get a fourth season of Hannibal:

Hannibal, my brother in Christ, you just adopted a child together. This doesn't sound like "making a friend" to me.

You have no idea how big supporter of the theory that the fall from the cliff never happened I am.

Like— The first scene of the series didn't even happen because Will was so immersed in the story he was telling during the lecture. It was only his imagination; at the crime scene Will quickly receives confirmation of all his conclusions, such as the fact that the marriage was tapped and I truly doubt electricians would have been called immediately to the crime scene along with the police, ambulance and FBI. And then he is suddenly “magically” back in the classroom from the house of the victims, when he says, “Everyone has thought about killing someone one way or another. Be it your own hands or the hand of God”.

And since the first scene of the series didn't take place at all, why wouldn't it be the same with the ending? During the battle with Francis Dolarhyde, Will sees him with the wings of a red dragon, something that is unreal. He is also only imagining that.

And the fall is also from Will's perspective, so did it really happen? Or is this only a metaphor for his fall as a human being? He genuinely felt that the brutal pack hunting he shared with Hannibal was beautiful, so he finally accepts his dark nature — he falls as a good and moral man, descending into the depths of crime (ocean).

I love it so much. I'm sorry.

Tbh, for a very long time I thought that the ending of Su-zakana was not addressed in any way later.

But some time ago I realized how dumb I am. Of course it is addressed, and it is addressed at the very beginning of the next episode:

WILL'S FUCKIN' DREAM. THIS IS A CONSEQUENCE OF THE EVENTS FROM THE END OF SU-ZAKANA.
