"I redesigned [fandom's] characters!"
Me, who left tik tok 'cause people were being mean for no reason: Aw ! That's such a cool design!
The part I haven't read yet: "Because the original designs are shit"
Me:

Imma vent here↓↓↓
I can tell. When you aren't from Tumblr. Because some of your manners are inexistent.
Especially when you talk about an indie show. That is one full artist's creation. How can you look at yourself in the mirror. Would you like to make something that you love, and some little shit on the internet goes and says "This is shit." Be respectful at least.
And if anyone says "it makes you insecure" of course it does. I'm making my own little big thing. I would love for anyone to not tag about my work if you're going to make a hate comment like that. It's useless and quite frankly pathetic.
Recently people seem to have forgotten what the fuck respect is, much less the fact that there are people behind that screen of yours that you're talking to.
Most of all, it's really fucking annoying. I like going on tumblr because most of it is nice. People are respectful. And then there are twitter, tik tok people coming here thinking they can just do these kinds of things. If you have something bad to talk about a fandom. Don't. Fucking. Tag it. It's common sense. Or tag 'hate talk' 'hating' something. Be, again, respectful.

We as a fandom joke about Tim's cloning stint a lot. It was a fucked up thing for Tim to do and definitely showed off his Mad Basement Scientist vibes quite literally. It is, objectively, pretty funny.
On the other hand, how much of Tim's soul was lost that he tried 99 times to create a replication of Kon? He knew it wouldn't bring his best friend back. He knew, at best, Tim's project would be closer to Kon's biological sibling instead.
Despite that, Tim tried 99 times. Each trial might have brought him closer, but they would've taken an extreme amount of time. It would have cost so much money and resources.
Tim, as he slowly broke down in front of a glass tube that once imprisoned his friend, did not stop. He wouldn't. He couldn't. He knew Kon would hate him for this. He knew his best friend would be furious at the blatant disregard for clones. Tim was so lost that he gave up everything for a mere impression of Kon. He sacrificed his time, effort, and resources. On the line was his reputation in the hero community, relationship with Kon, and mental stability.
How lost was Tim that he did this?

If I may put on my tinfoil hat for a moment, this is a really opportune time to try banning tik tok and shutting down the Affordable Connectivity Program which sought to provide internet access to low income folks. Our government is quite literally restricting our access to information right as it continues to financially support the genocidal apartheid state of Israel. I take this as a sign they fear the working class and our power. Time to rise up.

The thing I've learned about being on testosterone that was difficult is that if I want to see the full extent of fat and muscle changes, I've got to eat well and often. I'm still not good at doing that, but it's so good seeing my work and care play an effect into the way my body is changing. It's about the food, but most of all, it's about the care, and I think that's a valuable lesson I will always appreciate. To anybody who is transitioning: it's about the care, it's about the food, and that is neutral at worst. You deserve nourishment and care and love and respect, especially when that care and love and respect is coming directly from you💛

I saw a Tik Tok where a Guatemalan mom tried to set her son up with a lady who complemented her cooking at his work and immediately thought of Aventio/Ratiorine.
Setting the scene a bit — modern au, aventurine’s mom and sister are alive, aventurine still works for the IPC, aventurine is a pseudo name and still goes by Kakavasha outside of the workspace.
Aventurine having lunch with Topaz every day where they both FEAST on Aventurine’s mom’s food. Like it smells GOOD okay.
And Ratio constantly smells it everytime he passes by the cafeteria to grab something to eat before eating in his office or smthn (he’d much rather not be surrounded by people chewing, thank you very much). Logically it makes sense for him to go up to Aventurine and ask so yk he does.
Aventurine gives him a “oh, this is Shah hai mas, my mom made it”.
(‘Ah, I suppose I can’t have it then. I wouldn’t even know where to start looking for the recipe. Even then I doubt I could replicate it that well — Ratio’s thoughts)
So he thanks him and tells him to inform his mom that her cooking is really good (imagine this but more sophisticated).
Next day, Aventurine goes up to him at lunch because his mom made Ratio some food too since Ratio complimented her cooking!! Score!!
(She has definitely heard the name Veritas Ratio come out of Kakavasha’s mouth many times before. SHE HAS TO HELP HIM DAMN IT.)
So when Ratio goes back to his office to eat, he finds a note inside that reads:
‘My son is very charming, hard working, single, and makes a good living. His money can fund your research!’
It makes him flustered but also??? He’s gotta commend her effort. Like seriously.
And you know what. She has a point okay, and he can’t just ignore it !! (Besides the money part, he doesn’t want Aventurine’s money lol).
And this story is told at the Ratiorine/Aventio wedding UwU !!!

(in reference to last reblog) it’s legitimately so crazy how many nonblack people just start picking up aave without knowing what it means bc they saw other people do it or try to change its meaning into something else 😭😭 like bffr you don’t talk like that irl 😭😭 people try to say it’s “gen z language” “internet lingo” if you weren’t using it before in your everyday language maybe you shouldn’t be using it at all maybe!

i think the day i stopped following these cardinal (digital) art rules from deviantart or whatever is when my art got infinitely better. like things like Dont shade with black/always shade with purple, Dont use airbrush, Never EVER trace anything etc arent inherently wrong as they are based on actual techniques that work. its just that when theyre simplified to this degree and applied regardless of art style/end goal theyre absolutely useless.... theyre made with this very specific lineart-flatcolors-celshade comic/anime style in mind and aimed at like 12 year olds drawing like warrior cats or whatever. and even then its still better to (try to) learn how light/shadow etc actually works
