PICOS SCHOOL DESIGN DUMP

Pico

So, I decided that my previous designs for a lot of these characters are going to be more-so their designs during the events of the Pico’s School games. So when they were kids. Like, some will be a bit different, but for the most part, that’s how it is. So then these new designs are them as adults.

When trying to figure out Pico’s design, I didn’t know how I wanted his outfit in this new design to differ from his previous. Cuz like, that’s already the perfect Pico fit. But then I realized “omg, it’d be so much funnier if I DIDN’T change it.” Cuz he is definitely the type of mf to be wearing the same clothes he’s had since middle school.

Like, Cass or Nin come back for a rematch, and they both look super different, and then they look at Pico and he looks NO DIFFERENT than last time they saw him.

Darnell

I immediately broke my rule with the previous designs with Darnell, cuz I just really liked the previous design’s outfit and was like “eh, imma use that for his adult design, and just change the kid design.”

I imagine he got that varsity jacket like, custom made, and it was like super fuckin expensive. But like, when he got it, he decided “wait, I don’t want the sleeves” and just ripped them off 💀

Can’t have long sleeves when you’re always working with fire ig.

Nene

I think Nene is the one I’ve drawn in alt. outfits the most. What can I say, I just really like drawing her and messing around with her clothes. So I had a lot of previous pieces of mine I could look back on for reference.

The main change that isn’t outfit related is her hair. I just decided to dick around and see what looked good, and landed on that. I think it looks pretty good, idk.

Also, gave her a WWJD bracelet cuz sometimes I forget she’s Christian and I thought it was funny.

Reminded me of this one stupid idea I had, featuring my very headcanoned version of the G-Squad:

Like, the G-Squad are doing their whole cult thing, worshipping the Peniliens, when the Pico trio burst in, and Nene says something like “THERE IS ONLY ONE LORD AND SAVIOR, AND HIS NAME IS JESUS CHRIST.”

And then they kick their asses, idk.

Also, here, them as kids. Pico just got spikier as he got older

Okay, time for some antags 💥💥💥

Cassandra

She was actually the first redesign I made in this batch.

Main change: Beard. I just sorta wanted to make the Penilien duo more androgynous. I imagine that they don’t really care about transitioning that much, since they don’t have the same gender roles and stereotypes as humans. Just “I’m [insert gender here], that’s it.” Also, I just think Cass slayed with a beard.

I also wanted to incorporate shapes from their alien forms more into their human disguises. So I gave Cass these big sleeve things to sorta emulate the big bulky arms she has in her true form.

One of her pincers is also chipped. This comes from the fact that in Pico’s School, one of her horn-hair things is shorter than the other, and I wanted to find a way to incorporate that.

Damien

I don’t think there’s much to say here that I have already said while talking about Cassandra.

I imagine Damien does less to hide his alien features, since he has a huge superiority complex and thinks Peniliens are superior anyways, so like, why hide his true colors? Why hide what makes him greater than everyone around him?

So yeah, that’s why he keeps his tail out.

Nin

YIPPEE, HEAVYILY HEADCANONED CHARACTER TIME‼️‼️

So Nin differs with the whole “previous design is them as a kid” thing, cuz he doesn’t really age past his age in Pico’s School. Cuz bro dies.

(Also, quick HC timeline: Pico 1 and “Pico 2” (the conflict with the robo-kids) both take place in middle school, while what I call “Pico 3” (the conflict with the G-Squad) happens in high school. So that’s why Nin appears less child-like; he’s a high schooler)

So like, I hc that when Pico killed Nin, Nin pulled some necromancy bullshit and revived HIMSELF. Cuz idk, that feels like some bullshit Pico’s School would pull.

So now he’s undead. His hair also sorta resembles horns cuz it’s sorta to symbolize his devotion to the Peniliens. If y’all are interested in hearing all the HCs I have for the G-Squad (or just PS in general), I might share more at a later date.

My color palettes for these fuckers. They’re all named after the MSI songs I associate with each of them. I do not support MSI, I just really like the music and it reminds me of Pico’s School for some reason, so I always listen to a lot of it whenever I get sucked back into this fandom

Alright enough people have expressed interest (read as: two people) I'll spill BDJQNDJ

This concept is very much in its infancy idk if I'll expand upon it. But basically all these concepts are very rough lol

So basically instead of having four Clans there's just kind of random groups of like maximum 15-ish feral cats that follow a similar structure to the Clans (leaders, medicine cats, warriors, apprentices, etc, though some might not have deputies or fully trained medicine cats based on size) spread out over a massive area that's been for whatever reason abandoned by humans

StarClan and the Dark Forest also still exist, because of the level of ongoing conflict between the groups of cats the dark forest actually has a pretty strong influence and manipulates young cats into training within it pretty easily. So one day the clan Pico Nene and Darnell live in (I'll come up with warrior cat names for them. Later I'll just be referring to all the characters as their actual names for now lol. But they'd all be 6 moon old 'paws at this point) is overrun by a rogue group of these dark forest apprentices (the goth punks) and they manage to kill just about everyone but Pico manages to kill all of them leaving he and his friends as the only survivors

Somewhere in another territory a Prophecy and Omen Combo Meal from the medicine cat leads Captain and Steve (leader and deputy of their respective Clan) to check out what's going on over there at which point they discover the three apprentices and are like Well. These are basically kits and also that one singlehandedly just killed the equivalent of half an entire clan which is sick as hell so I guess we can keep em and take them back to their own clan to train under them

Again I don't have exact words for this prophecy but basically Pico Nene and Darnell are the Chosen Ones and they've actually been granted superpowers power of three style to aid in their quest (Pico is super strength, Darnell is supergenius, Nene is super healing) and they've got to bring order to the Clans before the dark forest becomes too powerful and can use all the living cats they've gathered to overthrow the Clans completely. Or something. The Dark Forest represents peniliens in this universe btw idk if that was obvious JDKQBSJW

Uhhhh only other stuff I have thoughts about is I feel like BF is like. An ex-kittypet who just fucking wandered out here somehow. The Dearests are some form of like behind the scenes puppet masters in the conflicts going on they have some ties to the dark forest or something idk. GF doesn't really care for it so she joins the prophecy trio along with BF

Anyways, dumbass .XML shenanigans

All the wear and tear on his clothes comes from him actively eating the shit. This man drinks wet cement and eats drywall, he would DIY those tears with his bare teeth

Also, I had this dumbass idea that would not leave my brain after I thought of it: His jaw works like a goblin shark's. Cuz I hate him /aff. @braveboiart encouraged this.

Also, he has naturally sharp teeth. Which in my dumb lil au computes to Warrior's genes. But then I had to figure out how the fuck he'd have the Warrior's Gene if he wasn't related to Pico.

Then @minxtheeenby proposed the idea that he just fuckin one for all'd that shit by eating some of D-Sides Pico's (Dubbed "Trapezoid" in my AU) hair

Fun fact: Trapezoid doesn't actually have the Warrior's Gene cuz he was so botched in the cloning tube. Or at least, it's not active in him. But he can pass it on. There's weird Penilien lore with that that I'm not gonna get into rn.

YIPPEEEE G-SQUAD DESIGNS.

Prolly some of my fav Pico antags. Totally not cuz they’re basically my OCs atp cuz there’s like. No canon material on them.

Gonna go ahead and include some of the bs I came up with for them here too

Nin

Now, I’ve already talked about Nin, but it’s been a while soo..

Nin is the leader of the G-Squad, and possesses the power of necromancy, which is one of the only things about these guys that is practically canon. But yeah, during his boss fight, he reanimates Cyclops and Hanzo and puppeteers their corpses in order to fend off Pico. Which must have been quite the experience for Pico 💀

Nin’s the only remaining member of the G-Squad, as when he was killed by Pico, he reanimated HIMSELF last second. So he’s still an active threat.

Extra HC: Before I found out his name was Nin, I called him Trent. I had names for all the G-Squad before I found out about their confirmed names (except Durst, I always knew his name). In Nin’s case, I hc Trent’s actually his dead name and his preferred name is Nin. To go along with this, I hc him as he/him nonbinary. Cuz silly and it fits in my brain.

Mental

Mental has metalokenesis and is the fifth boss fight in my hypothetical Pico 3.

I really wanted to emphasize the metalokenesis, so they’re just wearing literal barbed wire, which CANNOT be dress code, but fuck it we ball. You really gonna tell the kid who can throw lockers that their outfit doesn’t follow dress code? You gonna take that risk?

Oh yeah, they can throw lockers. That’s actually like, the key thing in their boss fight.

Mental is just a nickname given to them by the G-Squad, and their real name is Randy.

Gotha

Gotha’s power is the ability to shapeshift, though unlike the other dark magic wielders in the group, her’s is not an innate ability and is instead possible due to potions she consumes.

Don’t ask how she walks with belts around her legs like that. She glides across the floor. She’s built different.

She’d be the fourth boss fight, though her main thing would be causing small problems for Pico throughout the game before her final showdown. In this final confrontation, she takes the shape of a giant monstrous bat

She’s so silly chat

She has a similar situation as Mental, where Gotha is a nickname, with her actual name being Vibeke.

Geisha

Geisha’s powers revolve around poison and disintegration. She’s able to turn into a corrosive liquid and traverse quicker that way. She’d be the second boss fight.

Not much more to say about her really. Her and Gotha are lesbians.

Durst

So, Durst is unique cuz he doesn’t possess any powers like his friends. He’s not as in the know about the Penilien business the rest of the G-Squad are dealing with, but he’s willing to support his friends despite that. So he’s the first boss, guarding the G-Squad’s operation from obstacles like Pico.

But here’s another point where he differs cuz you actually have to fight him TWICE. Pico doesn’t kill him the first time around, so he comes back to be the third boss you face as well.

There’s a lot more stuff I could get into with my hypothetical Pico 3, but I’m not gonna get into all that here, especially since I don’t have it all planned out. If any of y’all are curious about more details, just ask! Who knows, it might even help me come up ideas.

Random Pico’s School headcanons cuz I am mentally ill and have thought of this stuff a lil too much.

I could probably elaborate on more of these if prompted, but imma just blurt these out for now cuz I’m tired and bored

Everyone from Philly has white eyes. The funny explanation: it’s something in that water. The serious explanation: Philly’s just so fuckin dangerous that the people there have over time evolved to have pure white eyes; no pupils means no one can see where your looking — you’re harder to read.

The Warrior’s Gene is the reason Pico, Otis, and Piconjo have sharp teeth (that drawing of Piconjo is old, don’t mind him 💀)

The Warrior’s Gene is also what allows them to use medicinal herbs the way they do. Cuz brother, you can’t just normally heal from gunshot wounds like that, something else is going on there

Piconjo and Nin have some Nevada in their blood and that’s why their skin is naturally gray. Actually, Nin is a lot paler so that might be some Arizona (Spooky Month) genes, who knows. (Nin below for context)

Humans who get exposed to and harness Penilien magic slowly gain elongated ears over time (The G-Squad (minus Durst), Alucard, and Ozmose). They’re never fully pointed like a Penilien’s tho, and maintain some roundness

“Penilien magic” doesn’t actually originate from Peniliens, and likely comes from another race the Peniliens wiped out. They stole the magic to weaponize it

“Penilien” is a term that can mean two things. Penilien can refer to the specific race of aliens that Cassandra is. Or it can refer to a sort of alien nationality of sorts, which is made up of the Peniliens and the Serpinas, the species that Damien is

Nene is immortal in the way that if she is killed, she will always wake up the next morning in her bed, completely unharmed. Only she is affected by this though. Objects stay where they were before and people WILL remember her dying

More of a retcon than a headcanon: The person running the cloning experiment in Citizen Pico was a Penilien scientist, wanting to clone Pico so the aliens could use the Warrior’s Gene against him. After Pico put a stop to that, however, the Peniliens went to plan B: Eliminating the gene all together by killing Pico and his family — also did not work

Speaking of Pico clones (this is more so related to my FNF Connected Universe, but whatever) , here’s the nicknames they would call each other if they were to meet. It’s literally just based on the first thing that came to Pico’s mind when he first met them, so they’re stupid. The clones tried really hard to also give Pico a stupid nickname as well, but he pulled the “I’m the original” card, so he’s exempt

my computer sucks ass please infodump about this pico game it sounds interesting

YIPPEE INFODUMP TIME 💥💥💥

Basically the game takes place 3 months after the events of Pico’s School, and Nene’s wanting to have a picnic with Pico and a few others. After a bit of convincing, Pico decides to attend. But when he gets there, he finds that no one is there, and a lone note sits on the ground

So Pico goes to save his friends (which consist of Boyfriend, Captain, Darnell, and Nene), who have all been locked inside a lab of sorts. The gameplay is just a simple point and click pseudo puzzle game with boss fights sprinkled in, just like the original Pico games

Along the way, we encounter guards, which I am assuming are Peniliens of some sort due to details revealed later (and also their horns/horned helmets, a trait only really belonging to the Peniliens in this series)

Remember those boss fights I mentioned?

Well, here’s those characters

First we have Fleet, a soldier for the Peniliens with a gun for and arm and duplication abilities.

His death at the end of his fight is one that is non-optional. Either Pico kills him or he shoots himself so Pico can’t get any information out of him.

This is me getting into theory territory, but note the goggles he’s wearing. It bares a pretty close resemblance to Hanzo’s. So maybe that means the night vision goggles Hanzo has are Penilien technology that Cassandra gave them.

Also, take note of Fleet’s duplication ability, that’s important for later.

Anyways, moving onto the next boss, we have Atomica.

She is likely some sort of bomb specialist (given her name and her literal use of them), and also possesses the ability to float.

After her boss fight, we learn that she’s actually an intern and doesn’t actually know any details as to what is going on. Her death IS optional, in which Pico can spare her due to her reminding him of Nene

If spared, she will help by releasing Darnell and Nene.

Then, the final boss fight: Conquest

Except that’s NOT a new Penilien character, is actually CASSANDRA in DISGUISE for SOME REASON??

But yeah, wanted to note Fleet’s duplication cuz Cass does the same thing, implying that either it’s just a Penilien ability and Fleet was also a Penilien OR I WAS RIGHT AND PENILIENS DO HAVE MAGIC THAT THEY CAN PASS ON TO HUMANS. CHAT ITS ALL COMING TOGETHER

Either option is possible tho

But yeah, he was cloned in Citizen Pico, a Newgrounds Game released Pico Day 2024.

I was thinking on how you said a lot of the Picos are clones and started thinking specifically on B-Side Pico bc he looks like Otis, and I can't decide which I like more:

That he's actually an Otis clone calling himself Pico, which would in turn imply there's a Pico clone calling himself Otis running around (the funnier option)

Or he's a Pico clone with elements of Otis spliced into him in an attempt to further harness the "warrior's gene" of his family line (the lore and character option)

...wait actually now that I'm thinking about it both of those could fit if there's an Otis clone that got spliced with Pico- neither of them know who they're supposed to be so they just took a name and ran with it

OOOOOOOOO GHWHERGGRRRHRHRHRGRRRGRRR I REALLY LIKE THAT SECOND ONE. GRGRGRGRRR I FUCKING LOVE LORE GUYS.

Making it canon now: B-Sides is a Pico clone spliced with some of Otis’s DNA. Cuz the Peniliens fucking would. He still only really has the memories of Pico, so he would be calling himself Pico.

Haven’t mentioned this before, but I did retcon Citizen Pico a bit to make it to where those clones were Penilien experiments in order to harness the warrior’s gene for themselves. They later resort to just trying to eliminate the gene all together when Pico foils their plans (which leads to the events of Pico’s Cousin 2)
