c-can we agree on sora vs kurosaki as the best in the series then? rannyu penaruti TCHINTCHINTCHING and KAIHI are the trademark of arc v, pendulums are a second(third?) thought to the writing after these, if we go there, we might never come back. (speaking of action cards, i got so frustrated that the bad action cards never appeared again after the sawatari duel, i kept waiting for the day someone would mess up by taking one of them)

Oh we can absolutely agree on that. Sora and Shun were some of the best supporting cast. Seeing them finally clash was so satisfying.

I almost forgot about the action cards... most series have some kind of gimmick that's not accepted in regular duels, and among them action cards are kind of hamfisted gameplay-wise, but they're so fun to watch!! Yeah, I wanna see the characters run through an obstacle course to possibly turn around the match!

They did try hard to make the duel environments interesting. The areas are really what make or break a lot of iconic YGO duels -- Heartland, Duelist Kingdom, and the Lancers qualifiers come to mind, among many, many others. Arc-V's environments were particularly colorful and made the whole show stronger. Maybe that's just cause I don't have a good memory for the gameplay itself, but in theory the show should be accessible to people who don't play.

Meaaaanwhile the most interesting we got in office-building-land was that one time Yusaku got tied up in an abandoned church. Which was pretty exciting at the time, admittedly, but they never got close to that for the rest of the show's run...

              This one is a yeller. As it unleashes into its mighty form, a woman made of bones sitting atop a monster! It's face is that of her victims those she's worked into submission. The target was an agent who took not only financial but physical advantage over her clients. Another blackened and disgusting heart that the Phantom Thieves of Hearts must cleanse!

              The gloves of Joker tighten as his teammates stand next to him. And she yells again saying that these rotten kids won't take what she built! Her empire! He scoffs, if this is an empire then they shall burn it to the ground!

              " Asahai Reo! Your greedful desires have damned the future of the youth who put their faith in you! For the sins you have crafted with your own hands we the Phantom Thieves shall make you confess with your own dirty mouth! "

              She yells again and his frown turns to scowl! Anger here it rises! There's a thumping pound of revolution here on the battleground!

                                                                  "Fox! Cut her down! "

He’s so in awe of Makoto especially when she’s in the Palace as Queen and he doesn’t even bother trying to hide his thinly veiled awe as well as jealousy at just how awesome her Persona is.  Just imagine Ryuji with stars in his eyes every time he sees her in action - she’s just that badass.  Also, when he hears that she likes video games and actually uses them to help her train - expect a lot of shameless begging for lessons.

             She feels a twinge of guilt for dampening the mood when her younger sister is no doubt elated to know their plan has worked --- that her friend is safe and sound, and her older sibling is now privy to the entire truth. It didn’t change the fact that Sae’s had little time to process some of the more irritating truths that interrogation brought to light --- it didn’t change the way she stood in the doorway, hands at her hips ( and in a childish display is opting not to remove her heels yet, as it gives her some extra height over Makoto ).

Thank God for her honestly,             she was afraid she’d be caught up in this awful weather with no umbrella.             She grinned from ear to ear as she moved in closer so that she could             stay away from the rain as much as possible.

        The lover chirped happily as she walked along side her friend and fellow              thief, linking her arm with the other girl’s. The grin remained as she              turned to face her. Honestly she was pretty damn grateful that Makoto              seemed to always be prepared for any situation, coming in to save              her day and not to mention her homework. She’d forgotten her bookbag              today too. The model had stayed up too late last night and almost              slept through her alarm.
