ok yesterday on Twitter I saw someone talk about how there was an official 3D models for Franziska in an Ace Attorney slot machine game, so I looked it up cuz I wanted to know more about it and then I see a video of someone playing it and there’s??? A 3D model??? Of Gumshoe?!??!?

So far I’ve only found 3 (unique) moments where’s it’s used but hopefully there’s more 🙏🙏

and then I got more curious and started watching some videos of this person playing the slot machine game, and then I realized that are a lot of characters that never appeared after the original trilogy, who have their own 3D models in this thing, like there’s a 3D model of Godot, and one of Dee Vasquez, and of Luke Atmey, and of Furio Tigre, and Mini Mimey, and the Steel Samurai/Evil Magistrate, and Von Karma, and maybe there’s more, idk, but I haven’t seen any other than these (aside from the main characters, obviously)

there are also models of younger Ema, younger Pearl, Larry before the timeskip, and Mia using Maya’s body

they also recreated some of the locations, and various segments with 2D animation (I can’t tell if it’s done by the same studio that did the anime adaptation, but if it isn’t, then I’m guessing they were given the character references and designs since they look extremely similar)

they also did a segment for Rise from the Ashes in the anime style, when they didn’t adapt that case in the actual anime

now, I think my biggest question after looking at all of this is: what the fuck was the budget for this????

like having to make all these 3D models and sets, a lot of whom barely appear, recreating the soundtrack and animating so many scenes, for a slot machine??? Really???

I know this probably wasn’t Capcom themselves making all these models and animation, they more than likely sourced that out to other studios

I’m just amazed that there was so much so find here, and there might be more, idk, I haven’t watched every video about this thing

Thank God splatoon 3 didn't end up introducing a playable cuttlefish dlc like I feared last year (I honestly don't think we need more new playable species, would've been too sudden, my expectations were on the floor after rotm) but the cuttlefish visuals are still so suspicious to me. This hat has to be on purpose. That's absolutely not a fucking squid or octopus

And this is undeniably a cuttlefish (and the double fin shape resembles the hat)

Like how the lack of mammals in the splatoon world and ark Polaris was something suspicious in the previous games, and characters like marigold and Glen fiddler and lil judd are suspicious now.... It's way more subtle but I think this could be the splatoon team planting some seeds in case they decide to introduce cuttlefish as a separate species in the splatoon world. ill be keeping it in the back of my mind

what are ur thoughts on phoenix and maya's relationship? saw a post the other day talking about how they're not really sibling coded and it got me thinking. (ie the fandom kinda shoe-horned them into that)

personally i think maya was ride or die for him from the moment he got arrested for her (see her offer to break him out of there) but didn't really see him as a sibling until later (maybe when she gives him the magatama?) whereas i think phoenix felt like he had to look after her for mia, but didn't really see her as a sibling until farewell my turnabout.

Honestly to me, they're just really good friends, legitimately the other person's best friend ever! Kind of like platonic soulmates if that makes sense! I used to also really lie the found family trope, but fandom just basically turned it into the nuclear family with extra steps, and that defeats the point of it to me. I definitely think they consider the other family, but there's not that specific role they'll assign to the other person-- just a sort of nebulous concept of family, like home is where the heart is rather than 'siBLiNgSsSsS!!", hence, platonic soulmates XD I really like your breakdown of the relationship, I think Maya definitely warmed up faster to Phoenix than he did to her, she just kind of seems like that kind of person that can figure out someone's vibes, where Phoenix is definitely a lot more guarded. She's not afraid to be more vulnerable, even as early as 1-4 where she says she wishes she didn't wake up. It definitely shows that Phoenix is still super guarded around her when he absolutely refuses to even talk about Edgeworth's "death". I think 2-4 was sort of a wake up call for him, not only because he had to step up to make sure Pearl was doing okay, but it was when he realized he really did care for Maya a lot, she's not the Chief's little sister, she's HIS friend Maya!! It really makes T&T really special where they kind of have this unique rapport that wasn't seen before, where Phoenix is somewhat more playful/relaxed/open with her (until the ex-girlfriend shaped elephant lingers in the room, which, honestly, fair, who would really want to open up about THAT mess?) So yeah, hope you enjoyed my little ramble!! :D

Pearl's friends often seem to end up hating her.

She isn't completely innocent in it. Some Pearl fans seem to actively take the nuance out of things by pretending she has nothing to do with her relationships breaking down, which I don't love. But it's also broadly undeserved

Often it starts as one act. A mistake, a misunderstanding, a little act of pettiness. Something fixable, on paper. But Pearl doesn't know how to fix things, so she doubles down, meeting their hostility with her own, escalating until things are irreparable.

Because I don't think Pearl believes in her own ability to hold onto relationships. I think she gives up and sinks into the defeatist mindset that if everything will fall apart between them anyways, it may as well be her own choice instead of something that happens to her.

Pearl doesn't like to lose control. Why be vulnerable and weak when it's inevitable that you'll be hated eventually anyways? Why try to mend or hold onto things when it won't do anything but open you up for rejection?!

It's not easy to show empathy to others or be vulnerable and expect empathy from them in return. It's safer to make things worse and tell yourself that you're doing the right thing.

Pearl is strong, Pearl is capable on her own, and Pearl doesn't necessarily need other people, nor is she wrong per say to think that being harsh protects her in this game.

But she is so often lonely. And it's painful to see.
