Review: Doki Doki Crate 17 April 2017

♡ What’s up Cuties? Today we’ll be reviewing the Doki Doki Crate April box. I know it’s a bit late but I didn’t get it until after April, not only that but long story short, injury kept me from doing this sooner (basically, I fell off of the curb leaving the store and actually got really scraped up. I landed in a bad position, bled a bit... I’m pretty much sore all over and can’t do much at the time.)

However the boxes are starting to stack up again, so with a little help, I had to get back on the ball!

Doki Doki’s April Theme: Slumber Party! ▓▓ ु‹:) ु (:˒[￣]

Growing up I loved slumber parties! My friend and I stayed up so much to play video games and eat pizza. We always had a lot of fun. 

As Usual we’ll start with the special Suteki Crate items:

Doesn’t everything just look dreamy cute~? I’ve been seeing the sleeping pikachu everywhere as of late, and who wouldn’t want an adorable blanket and eye mask to cuddle up with~♡

As usual I like to put my stationary together. Here we have the Kimi No Na Wa (Your Name) Notepad, and a Pink Flower Pen. Your Name is a very popular movie in Japan currently with tons of merchandise out and an international release coming up. I admit, I’m actually not that interested in it- but the story and art style create a beautiful experience.

Meanwhile the pen is adorable with a big, fluffy fake flower on top perfect for fans of May Flowers (which is ironic because this is April’s box), or just tickling people (●❛3❛●)

Of course who would I be to just not show the inside of the notepad? You get 2 types of paper designs, but I skipped the first one as it’s just a copy of the front cover, but zoomed in on the background. I also noticed there is an alternate notepad, but I don’t have pics.

Anyway, the pen I’d rate a 5 out of 5. It works well, it feels comfortable, and just look at it, how could you not feel happy to use such a sweet pen?

(I’m also pretty sure it’s by the same people who made the Christmas Doki Doki crate pen, with the big fluffy thing on top because they’re the same length, write the same, and have the same pink ribbon wrapping.)

The notepad meanwhile I’d rate a 3 out of 5 cuties. It’s not bad, but it’s not very flexible and I was worried the entire time I bent it that the pages would start to pull out, or the middle would fall apart. It just feels impractical to me unless you had something holding the top half down while you write.

Next is a very practical item (and one I actually needed, so thanks Doki Doki ♡), the Rilakkuma Coin Purse. Besides Rilakkuma, you can get Korilakkuma (who I got, my favorite~), or Kiiroitori. With a cute little chain to hang it on whatever you may have on your person, this is perfect if you need something small to hold change. The materials on both the inside and outside are smooth, and if you were to get the outside wet it should just come right off without much fuss. 5 out of 5.

Paired with Korilakkuma is another Mochi-Zu Mascot Plush Keychain! I say another because I already have one of these (I don’t remember which box had it though, but I got a different kitty). What’s cute about these is that not only do you have a chance at getting 3 kitties- but the surprise animal is an Elephant!

What I love about these little Cuties is that they are so squishy and soft, perfect for cuddling or de-stressing, as well as showing the inspiration behind their names. 4.5 out of 5. I love this squishy-soft kitty, but I noticed mine has a few little issues (mainly that nose, which I know probably doesn’t look bad in the picture, but trust me it’s fairly crooked and “off”).

Now it’s time for the Monthly Hoppe-Chan: Sakura. I love Hoppe-chan ♡ But I have to admit this one disappointed me a little. Once you get used to the super-decoraive ones, these ones just look plain in comparison. Don’t get me wrong, I love it just the same, and I get the simplistic theme it went for- but I feel like this could have been even more creative I think. 3.5 out of 5.

A must for all girls (or bishonen, or just guys with long hair) a Disney Princess Scrunchie ♡ Available was Ariel (who I got), Aurora/Sleeping Beauty (who I wanted as usual), Snow White, Rapunzel, Cinderella, and Belle.

These are so pretty, I wish I could find a picture of all of them. The book cover only shows the 2 depicted inside (Belle and Snow White), along with Ariel. If anyone sees the Aurora one PLEASE let me know. I’m dying to see it!

The material is soft and plush, and adorned with symbols and small felt ornaments to match the Princess its based on. Ironically I got Ariel yet again, but it’s okay, she matches the cup I got in the previous box. I love the creativity behind this scrunchie, I just wish we got 2 of them (I'm a twin-tail type -‿◦ and because I was worried if I wrapped it too tightly in a ponytail it would break). It does make a cute bracelet though.

I’ll give it a 4.5 out of 5! I really like it but I worry over how delicate it may or may not be.

Lastly is an item I was really excited for because I ♡ Sentimental Circus, and playing card themed items. This is the Sentimental Circus Hand Towel. As you cuties know, these are very handy. Automatic 5 out of 5!

Quality  - 4 out of 5. I really don’t have anything to say, except for my sorta silly-looking mochi kitty and disappointment in Hoppe-chan. 

Content - 3 out of 5. I enjoyed everything, but I actually don’t see how some of this relates to a Slumber Party. I admit the theme was apparent throughout the booklet- but it’s not part of the merchandise.

Practicality - (Nothing worth noting, perfect 5)

Total Rank: 12 out of 15 Cuties. It’s a really good box, but while I’m still left perplexed over how the theme and items work together- I did enjoy the content naturally.

3. Rilakkuma Coin Purse - it’s basic Korilakkuma in the end, it isn’t really different.  

4. Disney Princess Scrunchie - A little cute, I will admit. I love their designs but like the below they kinda border on pretty.

5.  Hoppe-chan - She kinda borders on cutesy-pretty. She would have scored higher had she been more... you know, decorative/different. 

6. Flower Pen - Like below, it’s not necessarily cute. It’s pretty. 

7. Your Name Notepad -  It’s not cute at all, minus the little chibi design in the latter half of the pages.
