I've seen enough people transform from "this religion isn't a big deal to me and I wouldn't place it before the lives of my friends and family or even strangers" to cultish fanatics who discard their lifelong professional knowledge and disown their children for a sudden come to Jesus midlife crisis to be very scared of all "nice" deeply religious people and at least wary of semi-religious people.

Not a big fan of the pro-religious left cause it's always 'you ought to respect people's strongly held spiritual beliefs' like ok I'm not joking when I say maybe you should have more respect for my strongly held belief that none of this shit is real

#i have a trans friend who has religious trauma from growing up Hindu #and that's when i realized #they're all bad. all of them.#sure there's nice religious people #but no matter what a religion is supposed to be #if it's organized long enough it becomes evil #peace and love Jesus becomes Jesus the enslaver #peace and balance Buddhists slaughter slightly different Buddhists #how long before we start thinking maybe religion is as corruptible as government
