I keep seeing people say that Edgin didnt cast any spells but i do not think thats true at all. You need to remember that hes a bard, a lot of bard spells are subtlety woven into words. I feel like folks just dont understand how bards work because he is actually an excellent example of what a bard would actually be like.

Yall expect all bards to be showy and flashy and flirty but i think Edgin is a perfect example of what a bard is actually about. Hes great at talking and great at persuasion. Hes charming even when people are mad at him.

You cannot tell me that man wasnt using suggestion, one of the most quintessential bard spells out there.

Just because he wasnt making things explode doesn't mean he wasnt casting spells. Bard spells just aren't usually visual.

Forever thinking about that moment where Paultin gave Evelyn a morning glory. As an apology and a plea and a manipulation all wrapped up in one.

his skin felt hot and cold at the same time , blak hair sticking to a soaking wet forehead as paled hands reached to grab desperately at evelyn and diath's shoulders for support . what an absolute fucking fool , losing that ring was a terrible idea . you are a terrible excuse of a man . paultin felt like he could throw up . he'd for so long gotten used to one voice in his head that he'd almost forgotten how aggressive the other was . everything felt like an uphill battle , everything felt like a struggle , and the bard wasn't sure how much more of this he could take . he feels his throat burn and constrict around nothing , the sensation of bile threatening to crawl up his throat as an empty stomach combated a full wineskin of liquor . when was the last time he'd eaten ?

expecting the universe , the stars , the GODS , anyone to change a life and fate he'd built and rebuilt brick by brick . " fuck . . . " he wasn't sure what he was cursing at , perhaps whatever it was that had cursed HIM , but his word is spoken loud enough for all nearby to hear . his hands loosen from coiling into his clothes , spitting the remaining bile from his mouth before leaning against the wall of the alley , keeping his back facing the pair in pure shame .
