oh yeah also if i criticize something about the toh finale and you swoop in and say "well it was shortened which means youre not allowed to give it any criticism" ill kill you. but if i criticize something about the toh finale and you swoop in and say "yeah the toh crew are horrible at running a show because the final product didn't touch on every single thing the fandom collectively made up in their heads" ill also kill you. so idk try to find something in between.
#toh#the owl house#watching and dreaming#shut up pandora#the ppl who need to hear this will literally never read this#however ive been criticizing the finale quite a bit online#and ive been trying to keep it as good faith as possible#i wont dunk on the show for something unless i can think of a way they could have done something better with the limits they have#and i know theres been a swarm of l*ly *rch*rd adjacent chuds who have been closing in#saying the show is bad because they didnt address this or that specific issue that the show obviously wasnt about#the garden variety zero critical thinking crowd#but shutting down any and all discussion about the shows flaws with 'well it got cancelled' isnt it chief#anyway if someone lectures me on how i cant be disappointed by the sidelining of hexsquad in the final battle again bc 'disney'#i will bite them

Tagged by @xbughead-jugpea-loverx thanks ! :)
Tag 9 people ( I literally only talk to like, 3 people D: lol ) you’d like to get to know better 💖
~3 Ships: (you guys are going to make fun of me but I really don't have that many ships I'm crazy for, besides coming outta Riverdale. I don't know why but RD was the show I became obsessed with enough to seek out fanfiction and start actively writing/shipping for??? Like, it'd be easier if y'all were to name another TV show/movie and then I could give an answer with like "oh yeah I ship blank and blank!" But I remember someone had asked if I would write for the Marvel and HP fandom, so I'll use those to give y'all some more insight on the type of characters I like, and to make my ship list seem less pathetic LOL Ideally though, I do multiship but these are my main ones.)
Sweetbee, (no question there lol) Wanda Maximoff x any (but my favs are probably Tony, Pietro, and Clint) and Dramione (I haven't actually read any fics but I've seen some fanart and read enough discussions where I like the idea of them, and anyways, I like taboo - y'all know that, so pair up the enemies! haha)
~ first ever ship: (again I'm gonna go with RD because honestly, that show really made me take shipping more 'seriously') so my answer is bughead
~ last song: I think it was some 30 Seconds to Mars song? I was only half paying attention when I closed my Pandora app lol
~ last movie: Does a movie being played in the background by your roommate count? If it does, then Blues Brothers. If not, then Avatar.
~Currently reading: taboo smut LOL I don't know if y'all would be able handle it.
~ currently watching: I'm cheap so I don't have any streaming services (my friends will usually come over and that's when I'll use their Disney, Netflix, etc) so it's hard to say but I like watching any of the Marvel movies, horror movies, Unexplained Mysteries, documentaries, and blockbusters hits!
~ currently consuming: well if we are talking about fanfiction, besides the taboo one mentioned earlier, I'm also reading a master/slave story.
~Currently Craving: More taboo! More forbidden love! Possibly some spooky smut ;) But also more Betty smut fics! More Sweetbee! ;)
tagging @cherryliqueurkinks, @undersweetpea and @riverdaledreaming but y'all don't have to ! :)

In Baltimore City, MD: Very adorable, very sweet bonded pair of seniors surrendered to the shelter together - BARCS, Baltimore MD
- Bonded Seniors -
Cinderella (left)- 12y/o, unaltered F, 4.9lbs
FELV-/FIV-
Pandora (right)- 14y/o, altered F, 5.6lbs
FELV-/FIV-
Senior gals, Cinderella and Pandora, were surrendered to the shelter when their owner could no longer care for them, and understandably they were both confused and pretty shutdown when they first arrived in our care. They spent a lot of time hiding and not eating, so we started to wonder if reuniting them might help.
Once placed in an open room together, Cinderella definitely found more comfort and confidence in the presence of her sister. They now sit near each other, and when visitors come to say hi, Pandora (as the leader) and Cinderella (following Pandora) come out seeking pets. Not only do they intermittently and affectionately brush into each other, they are both much more interested in eating.
Upon examination, our vets noted that Cinderella was dehydrated, underweight, and has significant periodontal disease. Pandora is also underweight and has moderate to significant periodontal disease. Cinderella was given subcutaneous fluids at intake, and both are recommended to get dentals in the near future and are having their weights closely monitored.
No seniors should spend their days in a shelter, and these sweet sisters are of course no exception. They are available immediately for rescue pick-up, and due to their age and medicals, we would love to see them leave ASAP.
Please let us know if your organization can help!
Thank you,
The BARCS Rescue Team

Join me Today 12-2p EST @ 5M Soulful Self Care Saturdays (One God One Thought Center 3605 Coronado Rd.) where we’ll explore R.A.I.N. I’ll also be live on FB. R.A.I.N is a handy way to explore any sensation, thought or emotion. - Recognize - Accept - Investigate - Non-identification • Recognize (without judgment) the emotions you are currently experiencing in the moment. • Accept. Whatever the emotional sensation allow it to be, open up to it and even care for it. Instead of suppressing it simply allow yourself to feel and be with it. In this you are integrating your emotions with your cognition. Marrying what we feel with what we know. • Acceptance is the most important practices for humanity. (imho) It's also known by synonyms such as equanimity, forgiveness, maturity, love, being present etc. • Investigating is expanding and deepening the volume of what we're accepting by getting interested in what we're feeling and working at a pace that is acceptable for us. • Non-identification is the attitude of not taking your emotions personally. Say ________ is happening similar to saying "A thunderstorm is happening" Making this "room" or "wedge" allows for you to observe the emotions, sensations or thoughts without becoming the emotion, sensation or thought. 1. This practice boosts your emotional literacy. You become curious of an emotional reaction as opposed to being lost inside of the emotion/experience. 2. You'll notice fewer negative emotions in general because of the regular practice of observing emotional habits. • Be objective.....but friendly with yourself while investigating. When we open this way to a feeling mindfulness takes over. If you do this enough times you create a new healthier habit. • The way to change a habit is by working to create a new habit. Not by trying to abruptly stop a habit. There is a subtle, nuanced difference to this approach but the effects are monumental. • Sometimes meditation can open "Pandora's Box" exposing various subconscious feelings, emotions and habits you were previously not aware of. • Periodically come back to your "home base" (breath, being with the body etc.) during this mindfulness practice. for your guardian spirit AU, if one wanted to stick more towards Phantom's canon appearance, i like to imagine the ghosts just
never realize he's a Guardian Spirit and not a little b*st*rd of a halfa
like SURE he's pretty dang powerful for a newly born ghost and YEAH his obsession is LITERALLY protecting and guarding what he considers 'his~' and OKAY he DOES get a bit feral the more 'his things' are threatened
but that doesn't mean anything right???
right??????
~ (cause he wouldn't JUST be protective of his world and human friends and family but also his ghost allies, though he knows they can hold their own far better than humans usually can)
The ghosts would just be oblivious until like another ghost like Pandora or Frostbite pointed it out.
Then they'd be panicking because "oh sh*t! We pissed off and made ourselves enemies of a freaking Guardian Spirit"
Needless to say Guardian Spirits shouldn't be messed with and they would all be in varying states of panic

The Chicago Tribune is being murdered before our eyes
Last May, the profitable Chicago Tribune was acquired by the notorious vulture firm Alden Global Capital. They suffered waves of downsizing, including a sell-off of the iconic Tribute Building. Today, a skeleton crew puts out the Trib from “a newsroom the size of a Chipotle.”
In a long, deeply reported article about Alden for The Atlantic, McKay Coppins catalogs the civic losses that Chicago suffered when its major daily newspaper was bought and strangled by Alden and its secretive, far-right owners.
https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2021/11/alden-global-capital-killing-americas-newspapers/620171/
“After a powerful Illinois state legislator resigned amid bribery allegations, the paper didn’t have a reporter in Springfield to follow the scandal. And when Chicago suffered a brutal summer crime wave, the paper had no one on night shift to listen to the police scanner.”
Remember, the Tribune was profitable. So were many of the 200+ other newspapers that Alden now controls, and which it is slowly strangling.
If you learned about business from Econ 101 high school civics, this is baffling. How is it good business to buy a profitable business and render it UNprofitable?
The short answer is financialization — the end state of capitalism, in which the productive economy is destroyed by the socially useless finance sector.
Here’s Alden’s playbook: “Gut the staff, sell the real estate, jack up subscription prices, and wring as much cash as possible out of the enterprise until eventually enough readers cancel their subscriptions that the paper folds.”
This is a formula that “can operate its newspapers at a profit for years while turning out a steadily worse product, indifferent to the subscribers it’s alienating,” or, Ken Doctor put it, “It’s the meanness and the elegance of the capitalist marketplace brought to newspapers.”
Who is Alden? The details are shrouded in secrecy. They won’t say who their investors are, though, when Congress forced them to put something on the record, they admitted, “there may be certain legal entities and organizational structures formed outside of the US.”
That doesn’t (necessarily) mean they’re destroying American businesses for the benefit of offshore oligarchs — my guess is it means they’re part of the “onshore-offshore” world revealed by the Pandora Papers:
https://pluralistic.net/2021/10/04/avoidance-is-evasion/#transparency
Ultrawealthy Americans send their money to finance-blighted treasure islands to disguise its ownership, and then it’s fired back across the ocean, resting briefly in an opaque South Dakota LLC, before it lands right in the middle of your city, destroying your businesses.
Apart from “certain entities formed outside the US,” who are Alden? It was founded by Randall “Randy” Duncan Smith, a pioneering corporate raider and secrecy freak who invented “vulture investing,” buying and wringing out aerospace, drilling and other companies in the 80s.
By 1991, he was being celebrated and condemned for “profiting from other people’s misery,” with a reputation for sociopathic selfishness he embraced, reportedly putting a stuffed vulture in his lobby.
https://www.nytimes.com/1991/03/29/business/company-news-bottom-fishing-with-rd-smith.html
Despite the gallows humor, it seems Smith was aware that destroying peoples’ livelihood for his personal gain would make him unpopular. He ceased talking to the press and began divesting every could years “to avoid ending up on lists of the world’s richest people.”
As with the Sackler crime family, Smith went to great lengths to kill public photos of him — the shooter who took the only photo of Smith online told Coppins the photo was “no longer available” and wouldn’t say if Smith had bought the rights.
https://nypost.com/2012/07/26/vulture-in-distress/
Smith — a major Trump donor — hates the press. The only one of his publications he ever seems to have ever been happy about was the New York Press, his brother Russ Smith’s vanity project, a freesheet that primarily exists to heap scorn upon journalists.
Hating the press is a weird look for a guy who owns 200 newspapers, but Smith isn’t a newspaper-owner, he’s a finance ghoul. The reason he’s bought up all these newspapers is that he knows that you are sentimental about the role they play in promoting democracy.
He knows that he can make the product worse, abuse his employees, and charge more, and you’ll keep paying for the paper as part of your civic duty. He owns 16 walled mansions in Palm Beach alone. He’s not a big civic duty guy — but he knows you are.
Alden is a machine for destroying newspapers. In Montgomery, PA, the Alden paper’s coverage of “more than a dozen elections” was done by “a single reporter working out of his attic.”
The East Bay Times went Alden and laid off 20 people, a week after winning a Pulitzer. The Monterey Herald pulled investigators off long-term reporting projects to churn out multiple stories a day.
The Denver Post saw 2/3 layoffs and relocation to a toxic building that sent many of them to the hospital. The Vallejo Times-Herald laid off all but one of its reporters, covering “police, courts, hospitals and business.”
After cutting the Times-Herald’s bullpen to one, Alden switched to a printer more than 100 miles from town, resulting in newspaper delivery delays of up to 24 hours. The newsroom shuttered and relocated to a single rented room in the Chamber of Commerce.
Smith’s co-founder at Alden is Heath Freeman, a man who oozes contempt on the rare occasions when he visits newsrooms he owns (“What do all these people do?”).
Freeman and Smith treat newsrooms like oil wells: They “hope the well never runs dry, but he’s going to keep pumping until it does. And everyone knows it’s going to run dry.”
Freeman agreed to talk on background with Coppins, and when he did, he trotted out a familiar talking-point from the news industry: “We must finally require the online tech behemoths, such as Google, Apple, and Facebook to fairly compensate us for our original news content.”
This has always been a hollow charge, but coming from Freeman, it’s especially empty. Freeman is a man who personally bought over 200 newspapers, and then, profitable or not, began to drive them into the ground.
Freeman and Alden make it clear that we need to save the news, not newspaper proprietors. Newspaper proprietors are not the saviors of democracy or the torch-bearers for civic values.
After all, the Tribune’s board of directors voluntarily sold the chain to Alden, despite the fact that it was profitable, knowing that Alden would raid and destroy it. They did that because they valued a one-time payment more than the Trib’s ability to serve its community.
They were carrying out a tradition that dates back to the dawn of corporate raiders — the era in which Smith was inventing the vulture capital business, in which lives, communities and productive firms were liquidated to make money for financiers who made nothing but misery.
That was the era in which the seeds of the newspaper industry’s failures were planted. After Reagan ended meaningful antitrust enforcement, local papers that had been owned by patrician news-families were scooped up and merged into chains.
The former owners were wildly flawed, using town papers to serve their personal agendas and vendettas, but they were paragons of civic virtue compared to the corporate news-barons of the 80s, who found “efficiencies” by firing competing reporters.
Why have two reporters in the state house, or New York, or Paris, when one reporter could do the job? Eventually, those reporters were shown the door — why pay a single reporter for your chain when a wire service stringer can do the job?
Closer to home, more “efficiencies” came from firing the shoe-leather ad-salesforce who knew every business in town, centralizing sales into a national 800-number boiler room that made cold calls or waited for customers to come to them.
The corporate owners loved outsourcing. Why own a building when you could sell it and rent it back? Why own your presses when you could sell them and then pay for their use?
Any story of the news business’s decline that starts with “Craigslist killed classified ads” is starting decades too late. The newspaper business had weathered innumerable technological shocks — telegraphs, radio, TV, cable.
Newspapers endured these storms because they had ballast to stabilize themselves: skilled employees, physical plant, cash reserves and their own offices, where they didn’t have to worry about a landord raising the rent.
All that ballast was thrown overboard by the corporate masters in the 80s, so when the 90s arrived, the newspapers were tempest tost — when Craigslist emerged, there was no salesforce with decades of personal relationships with local merchants to offer a unique advantage.
When the news went online, it became glaringly obvious that every newspaper was running the same Reuters and AP copy, floating in a thin gruel of local interest stories written by underpaid interns.
When lost subscription revenues and lost ad revenues crashed over the papers, they had no cash reserves — those had been paid out as special dividends long before — and their landlords wanted paying on the buildings they once owned.
Alden is the latest vulture capitalist in a long line that bought and gutted and sloughed off papers. Warren Buffet loves to buy and kill competing newspapers — the reason Alden owns the last paper in town is that Buffet killed the other one.
https://pluralistic.net/2020/08/10/folksy-monopolists/#folksy-monopolists
The reason these dead-eyed wreckers love the “Big Tech is ripping off the news” story is that it represents a way to effect a pure transfer from tech monopolists to newspapers, without any productive activity taking place.
Let’s be clear: directing vast torrents of traffic from the web to newspaper websites is not a form of theft. Links are not copyright infringement.
Which is not to say that Googbook isn’t robbing the papers. They are robbing them blind.
https://pluralistic.net/2021/03/18/news-worthy/#big-news
They’re robbing them by monopolistically rigging ads so advertisers pay more, publishers get less, and Big Tech scoops up the difference. Googbook illegally colluded to fix rates. Google rigged marketplaces to punish publishers who used rival auction services to place ads.
They lie to advertisers about how many times they’ve shown their ads, and to whom. They lie to publishers about how much ad revenue they’ve collected on their behalf.
https://pluralistic.net/2020/10/05/florida-man/#wannamakers-ghost
Big Tech doesn’t “steal content.” They steal money. The thing is, if we unrigged the ad markets, then the finance bros who own most of the newspapers would have to run their businesses, rather than wringing them dry and discarding them.
That’s why they keep shoveling the “stolen content” horseshit. Debt-leveraged, financialized papers “owe” their proprietors vast sums. If they can force Googbook to send them 10% of their ad rev, they can use it to “pay the debts.”
They absolutely, positively will not use that money to make their newspapers stronger. If that was the case, then Alden would have used the millions from the selloff of the Tribune building to hire more Tribune reporters — not line its pockets.
Big Tech and Alden aren’t really enemies. They’re on the same team: the no-corporate-taxes, no-unions, no-regulation, no-antitrust team. Fixing Big Tech — with breakups, merger scrutiny and regulation — would be terrible for Alden.
Alden doesn’t want to fix Big Tech, they just want to we their beaks. Alden doesn’t want to save the newspapers, they just want to bleed them out and find another profitable, productive industry to stripmine.

Leech Lord - When it's cold
TW: Dark thoughts, existential dread
Tyreen has always acted like coming here was the best decision she’s made for them, it’s pissed him off more than she’s ever appeared to notice, but then again her pretending like she isn’t picking up on his frustrations is nothing new.
She’s spent years singing this planet’s praises, how she loves everything about it and he should be thankful that his sister got them out of the cage that was their home, but she can’t lie to her twin. Never could, even though it’s not once stopped her from trying.
Troy knows her better than his own scars, and for all her intense skill in bullshitting, he sees through her every time. Even the times he really wishes he didn’t.
She fucking HATES Pandora as much as he does. Hell, maybe even more, her rage always tracked deeper through her bones than his could muster. He’s too tired to hate the way she does, it’s exhausting to burn with that dark a fury for so long.
He told her to her face the day they landed here that this planet was a shithole. He told her he wanted to go home, that staying here was not going to pay off the way she insisted it would for them. He’s told her the same thing practically every day since in one way or another, but she shrugs it off, twists it into a joke, reassures him in that silky smooth purr that it’s not that bad, that the filth of old blood in the sand and choking dry heat is worth it for what they have become.
Stars.
And maybe it would have been worth it if they had just stayed stars like she’d originally wanted, but things have changed over the years. He hates himself for believing her when he knew, just like he always did, that she was lying. Now that goal he worked so hard to reach for them both has been ripped from his grasp, now he’s stumbling behind her again as she demands he turn his cunning towards her new target - to be Gods, and Troy’s not sure he actually wants to be a God… not on Pandora.
He’s heard enough about the deities of this place from the natives to know whatever Pandora sees as holy is something far beyond his pathetic being. Shuddered as Jak-Knife wove myth of the great flood and the hunger beneath the sands, felt nausea snake through his stomach as they described something both terrible and disturbingly familiar. The eyes. The maw.
The great hunger of the mad song.
That’s not who he is even if the thrill of fear that runs down his spine when he considers it is almost pleasure, and it’s not who he wanted to be, if he still remembers correctly at least. The Troy he wanted to be is probably dead now, another desiccated corpse claimed by survival on Pandora. The possibility of that life is gone, he thinks. He’s not even really sure if he’s alive - the Troy he became in the end.
Tyreen says “We” will be Gods when she snares him so kindly in those manipulations whispered like love. “We” used to mean him and her back when they were two parts of the same whole and Mom would remind them how that would never change, but he’s started to really question if it has.
Tyreen’s “We” now rings with the dread of something he can’t quite place.
Nekrotafeyo was beautiful. Cool, rich blues marring into the same violet black you’d catch behind your eyelids just before drifting into sleep. The sky was so many colours at sunset, and plants, animals, all living things gently pulsed with a bio-luminescence that meant night was never true darkness.
Pandora is dead.
It’s just.. sand and jutting rocks in formations that don’t track naturally, that gave him fever dreams for the first couple of years about the things that must have shaped them. The air tastes like chemicals. The dirt is laced with oil, it’s vile. It’s sticky, ravenously hot, freezing cold, and it doesn’t want you to live on it.
He won’t rule Pandora as a deity, he can’t. It’s not made for that.
Pandora is a tomb, and in the back of God-King Calypso’s mind, he’s pretty sure he’ll die here just like the thousands who’ve gurgled his blessed name through their last breath in honor to their Holy Father. He won’t go in a blaze of glory, those are for the good and he’s anything but, he’ll just probably be a corpse his sister uses as a stepping stone to lurch towards her divinity.
That sounds about right for someone like him, and as the years go on, as he realises Seifa is not coming back and his friends are cracking under the burden of his existence in their lives, he thinks about it more and more.
Sometimes, on those icy cold Pandoran nights when he can’t sleep, when he’s been awake days and his eyes feel like their full of grit and joints ache with every breath, he goes outside.
Sanctum is docked near the pinnacle of the Grand Cathedral, like a thorn jutting from the tower of the twin’s shared cloister. It’s so high that the screeching noise of the night city below is almost drowned out by the wind that whistles through the gothic parapets, and sometimes when his kingdom is laced in glittering frost reflecting the glaring neon of the lights that dot the streets, he scales it.
Awkwardly clambers up the side of his ship as the dead weight of that horrible arm pulls at his spine with each twist, fingers fumbling for grip in the little rivets of freezing sheet metal as he hauls his heavy, exhausted body up inch by inch till he reaches the flat of the hull and crawls to the centre.
Throws his coat down and sits on the pooled fabric, pulls his knees up to his chest, closes his eyes, and waits as he focuses on the distorted music and crowd chatter that manages to filter from the metropolis so far below.
Lets the freezing cold air goosebump his bare skin as it leeches his warmth and creeps through the iron of his bracer, straight into his bones. Waits for his lungs to start stuttering out puffs of steamy breath as he begins to shiver under the clear night sky. Waits, and thinks about not having been born.
When he gets just cold enough, he can’t feel his broken body anymore, but he can think so clearly and he wonders if this is what it would be like. Not being in pain. Not living under the mental fog of the cocktail of drugs he relies on now just to ward off the nightmares. Not holding so much pathetic regret inside his ribs.
Not dying, that’s something else, being alive and then deciding to not be is very different and he’s not a coward. He’s not. Just… not having existed in the first place at all.
That’s not the same. That’s very easy to imagine even if you’re not a coward.
If he’d never been born so many people would be so much happier.
Tyreen would be... whole. She’d be pure, wouldn’t she. If he hadn’t taken half of her power the way he did, she wouldn’t be the way she is now. She’s told him that plenty, how it’s his fault. All of it. Mom would never have died. Dad would have stayed full of sunshine and jokes and love. Where would they be now as a family, them and Ty? Travelling the universe? Seeking out siren lore?
Leda wouldn’t be dead. Typhon wouldn’t be abandoned. Tyreen wouldn’t be whatever the fuck he’d helped turned her into. A monstrous god of her own making, or a sad child crying for her parents. He’s not sure which.
Troy has damaged so many people by being alive and there’s no goodness from it. There’s no payoff, no benefit. What’s the point of it? He’s broken. The power he stole doesn’t even work, so what was it all for? What’s he done bar cause pain and death just by existing?
Is that not exactly what a parasite does?
The COV wouldn’t exist if he’d never. The billions they’d affected would be all the better for it really, despite what they tell each other about “bettering” the lives of Pandora’s lost and the galaxy’s lonely.
Eli and Ven would have found someone better to seek help from, wouldn’t they. The Oracle wouldn’t be the shadow of himself that he is now, exhausted and so sad. Jak-Knife would probably be leading their own clan, not babysitting a pathetic excuse for a man that worked them to the bone while simmering with jealousy towards how much he wished he was them.
Seifa…
If he’d died on Seifa’s ship, where would she be? Somewhere warm and nice where when it rained the water was refreshing and not a slurry of red dust. With someone who deserved her.
He knows where she is now, a station he wouldn’t punish someone by exiling them to… and it was his fault she was there.
The back of his mind agrees that he is the crux of so much pain. He’s the one that’s the cosmic mistake.
Sometimes he’d like to ask Leda, she’d know the answer. Mom had known everything when they were small, had the answer to every curiosity or confusion from little minds, so he tries to. Whispers a question he doesn’t even understand to the stars through chattering teeth. He wishes she could hear him.
He’s always relieved when she can’t.
The cold defeats him in the end, every time. His body forces him to struggle to his feet and stiffly begin the climb back as the city below starts to quiet, shimmying slowly down the hull between handholds that bite into his icy fingers as the wind howls.
There’s a fleeting thought whenever he’s slowly picking his way down to the entry port that it would actually be really easy to slip, and he’s surprised it hasn’t happened yet. THAT would be the kind of ending he’s going to get anyway, one stupid little mistake from a hand he can barely feel, and all that would be left of him would be a mess for some poor fucker below to clean up.
He smirks at it, but knows in reality his traitorous wings would save him.
The port airlock hisses open and he stumbles into the warmth of his ship every time, he doesn’t fall, he doesn’t cease, he just passes out in the cocooning dark of his bedroom.
It’s survival instinct that does it, that makes him move and forces him back inside, but he still goes outside on those freezing nights, because maybe one night... it finally won’t.
Not that he’d get to be that lucky, he’s got a cult to run in the morning, and Tyreen would never forgive him anyway.

Author Interview Game
Oooh thanks for tagging me @stolen-pen-name23! :)
Name: Pandora
Fandoms: Primarily, Star Wars, but I do enjoy Doctor Who, Merlin, Marvel, and a few other things too!
Where you post: AO3 and tumblr, depending on what exactly I’m posting. Usually, the things that take more effort will go on AO3, while prompts and whumptober stuff will go on tumblr.
Most Popular Oneshot: Reemerging Daylight (which is my very first SW fic!)
Most Popular Multichap: Drifting Starlight (which is my very first multichapter fic and is set in the same verse as RD)
Favorite Story You’ve Written: Ahhh a single favorite? I think more recently, I’ve been liking Warmth, maybe because it has the sort of comfort I’ve been craving lately.
Fic You Were Nervous to Post: I think most recently, I was really nervous about posting Immolation. It’s possibly one of the most intense deathfics I’ve ever written, and I was just really worried about it being Too Much. That’s part of the reason why it has the M Rating, but I was still just concerned about how it would be received.
How you choose your titles: Usually by banging my head against a wall after I finish writing a fic. I hate coming up with titles and summaries xD
Do you outline? I do outline for multichapter and complex oneshots, but usually for shorter oneshots and prompts, I write on the fly, which can also be really fun because I love it when a plot or interesting storyline sort of emerges from that. Sometimes while I’m writing a dialogue exchange, I think of where the conversation is going, and it’s like…the plot just reveals itself to me. It’s so cool when that happens :)
Complete: Oh, that’s a complicated question. So let’s see, I have 55 works on AO3. I’ve also written 31 prompts for Whumptober 3 years in a row, which would be a total of 63 prompts (but a good number of those overlap with what I’ve posted on AO3), and then I’ve done a whole bunch of prompts from ask memes and stuff, so…I don’t know xD
In Progress: Well, let’s see. There’s Keeper of the Force, the Whumptober collab I’m doing with @lazarusii, the Ascension series (also with lazarusii), JOTL, Broken, the Obi-Wan and Ahsoka oneshot I mentioned a while back, and probably 77238473 others. Who knows at this point; I certainly don’t ;)
Coming Soon/Not Yet Started: Hopefully (?) Chapter 14 of Keeper of the Force! I’m kinda behind so far; life has been keeping me busy, but I will try to get it out as soon as I can! :)
Prompts: Yes, always! I’m like Super Behind on the prompts sitting in my inbox, though. I have prompts from the summer still sitting in my inbox, but I will get to everything at some point! It’s just taking me time :)
Upcoming Work You’re Most Excited About: I’m really excited about the Obi-Wan and Ahsoka fic I mentioned! It’s basically Obi-Wan meeting bby!Ahsoka shortly after TPM and she’s just super adorable and kinda helps him out because he’s definitely a Mess(TM) after that whole situation, so. yep.
No Pressure Tags: @lazarusii @katierosefun @kckenobi @rynae-reblogs and anyone else who wants to join in! :)
#tag game#this one was really fun!#not sure if any of this makes sense because my head hurts but. hblergh#pandora get some writing done challenge

Trying to get back to writing and I wrote a little bit of a style exploration for my original novel to see how it feels. It’s actually fun to write, but I don’t know how it reads. It’s very much a Zero Draft right now, but feedback is absolutely welcome.
To give the scene a little context: This is set in a world where experimental human/animal hybrids have been freed and live in their own small city/reservation on Coronado Island in California. The narrator is Owen, a rabbit thief who was contracted to help on a heist. He wasn’t told their target was a hybrid like him, one who’s never set foot outside of her lab before.
RD-01 has mostly been trained in science and lab work, but that was supplemented by a diet of 80s pop culture, particularly cartoons. She’s a relentless optimist in contrast to Owen’s pessimistic outlook.
The heist goes bad, as heists often do, and they barely manage to escape. Trapped in an abandoned section of the island, they’re now forced to find their way home. After she shoots down a half dozen options, RD-01 finally decides to go with Owen’s flippant suggest of calling her Pandora (since she’s a red panda hybrd). This is the first slower moment they have together, and it sort of sets up the dynamic of their relationship.
Like I said before, I welcome feedback and thoughts! It’s still a very rough draft and there’s more plotting to be done, but I’m just not sure if I’m going in the right direction for the book’s narrative feel. So feel free to drop a line and let me know what you think!
