Knock Knock Boys Ep 8 Stray Thoughts
Last time, Latte took Almond to the beach so he could relax and unwind. While there, he tried to teach Almond how to pick up strangers, but got concerned when Almond intentionally got drunk too fast. He pulled Almond out of that situation and took him back to their room where they kissed for the first time in a scene full of complex emotional layers. Latte stopped them before it went too far, and later shared his own family beach trip trauma. Meanwhile, Thanwa is back with Max and has decided to move back in with him. Peak waited too long, and so Thanwa is choosing to make pragmatic choices in his life to accept a job he doesn’t like and be with a man who isn’t great to him because he’s wealthy.
Trigger warning for 35:00 to 35:30 for attempted sexual assault.
Ew, is MAX the one who is uploading the clips??
I do love the commitment to using Almond waking up Latte as a framing device for the state of the house.
Oh, Peak, you tried.
What in the Princess Leia is this towel arrangement on his head?
These boys are crumbling so fast without Thanwa feeding them.
Okay, I feel better. Thanwa only intends to stay with Max briefly and is not giving him any suckface.
I’m really glad they got Pak for this role. He put a lot of power into that reconciliation scene with Almond and Latte. I like that they’re letting Almond have both desires: Yes he wants to prove his innocence, and yes he wants to help his friend. These are not at cross purposes.
Thank you, Lukpeach. We gotta actually solve the problem.
Gays, let’s please get it together. Y’all are making me feel awkward and I’m not even at this restaurant.
Peak, I understand you, and I am also so frustrated with you.
There’s something so perfect from the costuming of Thanwa in these clothes. They aren’t sitting correctly on him. He looks uncomfortable.
THIS LOOKING BACK AND MISSING EACH OTHER IS DRIVING ME INSANE.
I am in my 30s and spent my 20s either hustling or working in small businesses. There’s way too much chatter in the discourse about red and green flag human beings that strips them of nuance and personality. Let’s talk about a real red flag from a fucking job: Thanwa has told these food reviewer people that he can’t afford to do this little side gig for them, and then they call him out of the blue trying to pressure him into a 3 month probation for a 6 month job, and he must accept today because they’re the ones in a bind? HELL THE FUCK NO. DO NOT WORK FOR THOSE PEOPLE.
I’m glad Peak called Sean. He’s knows he’s the reliable one in this group.
I see you, Lukpeach. She is reaping! She invested early and it is paying off!
Thanwa is in his 20s. Now is the time for him to take these kinds of risks. I hope this works out for him, but keep your eyes open,
Latte has excellent taste in men. I love how every person we’ve seen Latte reconnect with, they all seem to have enjoyed their time with him and are happy to see him again.
Max, if I see you on the streets it’s on sight.
Goddamn, he’s trying to film Thanwa, too. I’m sick of this man.
Kick his ass, Jumper!!
That’s right, Sean, make sure you get your licks in, too!
Oh, what a messy final scene! Thanwa is totally fine to feel hurt about being accused here, but I also don’t think that Peak is off-base to think that Thanwa is trying to protect Max. He doesn’t know what has happened between them because neither of them has shared the important things.
This show continues to hold together! I’m so relieved. Curious where they go next, and if Max just disappears or manages to use his wealth to circumvent trouble. Also worried about potential video of Thanwa also becoming public and causing problems for him in this new role he just took.

WHEN: June 19, 2023 WHERE: Bloodhearth WHO: @kai-pak
She paid for her groceries that afternoon in coins she found hiding between the couch cushions and prayed the whole walk to the shop that it would be enough, which it wasn’t. So she had to put the pack of gum back, and the candybar. Halfway home, just when her arm was getting too tired and sweat was breaking out across her hairline and she was thinking to herself that she couldn’t go a step farther, the plastic bag split and all of her cans of heavily processed and tasteless foods spilled out into the street, dented, and rolled away.
“FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!” she shouted into the sky, shriller than a banshee, and did not care who heard. It was a silly thing for a woman in her final weeks of hiding not to care about. “FUUUUUUUUUUCK! FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK!” She kicked a can and cried out when it hurt her toe more than it hurt the can or made a difference to the situation at all.

Thailand Part I: Bangkok
Since my mom flew to the opposite side of the world to visit me in Vietnam, we also went to Thailand together to make her long flight even more worthwhile. Although we were only there for a week, we saw and did so much that I must break the trip up into multiple posts to cover everything!
Our first stop was Bangkok. When we flew in the first thing I noticed is how massive the city is! Looking out the airplane window I could see a huge expanse of skyscrapers and cityscape stretching out as far as the eye could see.
For our first night we booked a guided tuk tuk tour of the city. Thailand is famous for its tuk tuks, motorized rickshaws that are named for the sound their engines make when they start. A trip to Thailand is not complete without taking a tuk tuk at least once.
Our tour started with a night market to eat some Thai street food before going to Wat Arun, or Temple of the Dawn. The temple wasn’t fully open since it was night time but we could still get a good look around the grounds and see the beauty of the temple at night. After that we went to Pak Khlong Talat, the largest flower market in Bangkok, before eating dinner where we had our first Pad Thai in Thailand. The tuk tuk tour then drove us around past some more famous sites before ending the night in Chinatown. Our guide took us to the famous Yaowarat Road where there are ton of food stalls every night. We got mango sticky rice, another thing that a trip to Thailand is not complete without. Overall it was a great tour and a great introduction to Bangkok.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
From our guide’s recommendation we got up early the next day to see two of Bangkok’s top sights: the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, which are conveniently located next to each other. The edifices at both were probably the most beautiful man-made things I have ever seen. I was in awe at the splendor and craftsmanship of everything.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Included in admission to the Grand Palace was admission to a showcase of Thai traditional dances at the Sala Chalermkrung Royal Theatre, so my mom and I went to that to experience some more Thai culture.
After the show we wanted to stay out of the heat (April is unfortunately the hottest month in Thailand), so we ventured over to Iconsiam, one of the largest shopping malls in all of Asia. I have been to some very nice malls in Vietnam and Singapore, but I can confidently say that Iconsiam is now the best mall I ever been to. You can buy just about anything there, with stores ranging from luxury brands like Chanel and Porsche to more modest brands and local vendors. There are also a ton of food options; the ground floor is home to a giant indoor market and there is a dining atrium with a miniature version of the fountain in the Singapore Changi Airport. Iconsiam is located right next to the riverfront and they have a free observation deck that offers great views of the city. We ended up spending hours exploring everything that the mall had to offer. The famous Van Gogh Alive was also on exhibit there. I had never been and tickets were half the price as what I saw advertised in the US so we decided to visit the exhibit, which ended up also being a great experience. It may seem a little silly to spend so much time in a mall, but Iconsiam really was so unique and luxurious.

even if it would have created a natural segue into their 2019 film, Memories to Choke On, Drinks to Wash Them Down – a bittersweet quartet of stories about Hongkongers, both fictional and real, and the slow burn of nostalgia.
https://www.scmp.com/magazines/post-magazine/food-drink/article/3198459/what-food-tells-you-about-person-words-cant-foodie-film-couple-their-obsession-and-building-movies
The idea for Memories to Choke On, Drinks to Wash Them Down started with yuen yeung – Hong Kong-style milk tea that includes instant coffee.
Kate Reilly and Leung Ming-kai’s taste map of Hong Kong
(Shek Kip Mei Estate, Sham Shui Po): “They have the best soy-sauce noodles we have ever eaten. The wok hei – that complex aroma that results from wok-frying food – is incredible. Every couple of days I yearn for these noodles.
“We also love that it’s part cha chaan teng, part convenience store, part central location for seasonal treats like mooncakes.”
Sister Yung’s Stone Milled Cheung Fun 濃姐石磨腸粉 (62 Shanghai Street, Jordan): “The greatest cheung fun I have ever had, we are both wild about it, and we really like the couple that runs it. They also stock additional products from other producers, such as excellent milk tea.”
Pak Muslim Curry House (6 Ping Fu Path, Kwai Chung): “It’s excellent food, with incredible depth of flavour. Well-prepared meats are the star, but vegetable dishes are really tasty as well.
“Since working together on Lau Kok-rui’s upcoming film The Sunny Side of the Street, which is partly about Pakistani Hongkongers, Kai and I are more engaged with Pakistani culture here. And lucky us, Pak Muslim Curry House is just a short walk from a lot of the production offices and studios in Kwai Chung and Kwai Hing.”

The Cheapest Trip: Discover Vietnam, Laos & Cambodia Traveling through Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia in just 14 days offers a whirlwind of experiences, from immersing in vibrant cultures to savoring exquisite cuisines. This journey is not just about ticking off destinations; it’s about soaking in the essence of Southeast Asia in the most affordable way possible. Here’s a glimpse of what you can expect from this incredible adventure. Cultural Immersion in Luang Prabang, Laos Luang Prabang is a city where time seems to stand still. From the moment you arrive, the serene atmosphere of this ancient town envelops you. The spiritual heart of Laos, Luang Prabang is rich with temples, monks, and a culture that deeply respects tradition. The daily alms-giving ceremony, where monks receive offerings from the locals, is a humbling experience that highlights the deep-rooted Buddhist practices. The locals in Luang Prabang are warm and welcoming, often inviting you into their homes for a meal. Lao cuisine is a blend of subtle flavors, with sticky rice being a staple. Sharing a meal with a local family gives you a deeper understanding of their way of life and the importance they place on community. The Scenic Journey to Cueva de Pak Ou A boat ride along the Mekong River to the Cueva de Pak Ou is an experience that feels like stepping back in time. The river winds through lush landscapes, dotted with small villages where life revolves around the water. As you approach the caves, the sense of mystery deepens. Inside, thousands of Buddha statues, left by pilgrims over centuries, create an atmosphere of reverence and awe. The journey itself is a lesson in the simplicity of life along the Mekong. Fishermen cast their nets, children play on the riverbanks, and the pace of life slows to a gentle rhythm. This is the essence of Laos – unhurried, peaceful, and deeply connected to nature. Vibrant Streets and Culinary Delights in Hanoi, Vietnam Hanoi is a city that never sleeps. The chaotic energy of the Old Quarter, where motorbikes weave through narrow streets lined with vendors, is both exhilarating and overwhelming. Yet, beneath the hustle lies a city with a rich history and a passion for food. Street food is the heart and soul of Hanoi. A bowl of pho from a street vendor, with its fragrant broth and fresh herbs, is an experience that captures the essence of Vietnamese cuisine. Wandering through the night markets, you'll discover delicacies like banh mi, grilled skewers, and sweet treats that are as much a part of Hanoi as its historic landmarks. Hanoi’s culture is a blend of old and new, where traditional markets coexist with modern cafes, and ancient temples stand beside French colonial buildings. The people are proud of their heritage, and their hospitality makes every visitor feel like part of the community. Exploring the Mystical Ha Long Bay Ha Long Bay is a place that feels almost otherworldly. Cruising through the bay, surrounded by towering limestone islands, the beauty of the landscape is mesmerizing. Each island seems to have its own personality, with hidden caves and secluded beaches waiting to be explored. The locals who live in floating villages on the bay have adapted to life on the water in remarkable ways. Visiting these villages offers a glimpse into a way of life that is entirely unique, where daily routines revolve around the tides and the sea. Ancient Traditions and Modern Life in Central Vietnam Central Vietnam, from Danang to Hoi An and Hue, is a region where ancient traditions meet modern life. Hoi An, with its lantern-lit streets and centuries-old architecture, feels like a living museum. The town’s residents have preserved their customs and crafts, offering visitors a chance to learn traditional skills like lantern-making or noodle-making. Hue, once the imperial capital, is steeped in history. The grandeur of the Imperial City and the solemn beauty of the royal tombs tell stories of Vietnam’s past, while the local cuisine, famous for its royal roots, offers a taste of history in every bite.
The people of Central Vietnam are known for their friendliness and pride in their cultural heritage. Whether you’re enjoying a cup of ca phe sua da (Vietnamese iced coffee) with a local in a roadside café or participating in a traditional dance, the sense of community is palpable. The Bustling Life and Rich History of Saigon Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) is a city of contrasts. Skyscrapers tower over traditional markets, and luxury shops stand beside street food stalls. Yet, it’s this blend of old and new that makes Saigon so captivating. The city’s history is evident in its architecture, from the colonial Notre Dame Cathedral to the somber War Remnants Museum. But it’s the people who bring Saigon to life. The city’s residents are dynamic and resilient, embodying the spirit of a place that has seen both hardship and prosperity. Food in Saigon is an adventure in itself. From the sizzling banh xeo (Vietnamese pancakes) to the rich and flavorful com tam (broken rice), each dish tells a story of the city’s diverse influences and culinary creativity. The Spiritual Journey Through Cambodia’s Ancient Temples The final leg of the journey takes you to Siem Reap, Cambodia, where the ancient temples of Angkor await. Angkor Wat, with its majestic towers and intricate carvings, is a place of deep spiritual significance. As you walk through the temple grounds at sunrise, the sense of awe is overwhelming. But Angkor is more than just its temples. It’s the stories of the people who built them, the myths and legends that surround them, and the ongoing efforts to preserve them for future generations. Exploring the lesser-known temples like Banteay Srey and Banteay Samre offers a more intimate experience, away from the crowds, where the connection to the past feels even stronger. The people of Siem Reap are warm and welcoming, eager to share their culture with visitors. From traditional Apsara dance performances to cooking classes that teach the secrets of Khmer cuisine, there are countless ways to immerse yourself in the local way of life. Your Adventure Awaits This journey through Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia is more than just a trip – it’s an exploration of cultures, a culinary adventure, and a deep dive into the history of Southeast Asia. Choosing the Right Time to Visit
While Mysore is a year-round destination, the best time to visit is during the autumn months of September to November when the weather is pleasant, and festivities such as Dasara are in full swing. Accommodation Options and Transportation

Supermarket
(12. 2. 2024) Brněnský pokus o Whole Foods?
Tumblr media
Nemohu mít oči všude a i mí spolehliví terénní zvědové potřebují dovolenou.
Jsme prostě v ČR a Brně a máme, co zdejší trh unese.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media

Week 5 - From Sydney Poles to Mount Cook Strolls
G’day everyone!
My week started off with a confirmation and acceptance of our lease application, narrowly avoiding homelessness by a few days *big sigh of relief*. Our new home is a townhouse in Bondi Junction, an incredible location for most of the spots we want to be near. The junction is a grand central station for busses and trains that can take us to most parts of the city and surrounding beaches in around 20 minutes, oh and the campus is about 40 minutes away.
On Wednesday, all of the roommates and some friends from Surf Camp somehow coerced Joe and me into a pole dancing intro class. Pole dancing… so yeah, if you were to tell me I’d be pole dancing my first month into this Australian adventure I would have raised both eyebrows.
But it so happened that my roommate, and a recent friend of mine, went to a pole dancing class the week prior and wouldn’t stop recommending and at times begging for the rest of us to follow them to the next class. When in Sydney I guess… sorry Mom, I guess…
Tumblr media
For anyone interested, it was a tough workout at times and painful on the inner thighs. But ultimately the experience was rewarding and very humbling.
On Thursday, we packed our bags and headed out to the streets of Sydney. Our townhouse wasn’t ready until the day after so we each called up our friends from Surf Camp and lodged at our friends’ places for the night.
The next morning I went to my last Coogee sunrise as a resident of the neighborhood. Joe and I rendezvoused with the other three girls at the front steps of our new home.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That day was spent flipping coins for rooms and making several trips to the nearby mall to stock the house with necessities.
The next morning we packed our briefly unpacked bags and, as the flight attendant liked to remind us, “just barely caught” our flight to Queenstown, New Zealand.
And WOW…
This place is breathtaking from the first sight of the shore out the plane window (get a window seat if you can). We moved through customs declaring anything that even resembled food and then started our 10-day New Zealand journey.
Quick aside… This upcoming week at UNSW is called “O-Week'' where all the clubs and student organizations set up stands. It's a great opportunity for kids to check out and join whatever catches their eye. For us, it's more of a week to explore this side of the world. Also, of all the times to go, New Zealand in the summer seemed like our best bet, it's by no means sweltering but highs of mid-60s beat mid-40s or lower if we went later in the year. Also, the whole trip will be an exploration of the southwestern part of south island, for anyone who knows their New Zealand geography.
Anyways, we landed and headed to our first stop, PAK ‘n Save (NZ Costco), and shared a delectable parking lot sandwich with some of the items purchased in the store.
Tumblr media
We also were shopping for all of the next day's meals because there were few outlets along the 3 hours of country between Queenstown and Mt. Cook. We made it to our hostel at the base of Mount Cook, the tallest mountain in NZ, around 1 AM to a sky full of stars.
The next day was the most beautiful hike I have ever done, by far.
Before starting our hike, we talked with park officials who told us that the weather here can switch in a moment and to make a judgment call with each stop we take. Also, it was one of the windier days, so be careful “not to get blown off at the top”.
Tumblr media
Our friend Max informed us the hike was 2200 stairs, and then the hard part started…
Feeling a bit nervous but determined we slowly made our way to the summit and it was the natural views more than anything that kept our minds from the, at times, grueling elements of the hike.
Here are a few of my favorite photos:

I'm writing this from our Queenstown hostel and cannot wait to share all the adventures that this next week has in store.
I hope you all enjoyed the blog!
